Renala descends the staircase from the second floor. She wears a blue top showing some skin below the neck – not much –, and non-descript gray pants. She makes her way over to the bar, and takes a seat before ordering a relatively strong drink.

Iressa wanders down the steps a few minutes later, dressed somewhat more casualy than usual. She gives the room a short scan before pulling herself onto a seat one down from Renala, giving her space if she wishes. Her order is slightly unusual, a light drink. She holds it up to her lips as she addresses her bar mate. "How're you doing?"
Renala looks over at Iressa with a slight smile. "Have been better," she says. "I'm alive, so I won't complain." The bartender delivers her drink, a human brandy by the looks of it. "How about you, Iressa?"
Iressa nods along, giving glances at the other asari, but mostly keeping her gaze along the countertop inbetween them. "This isn't the first time we've run into trouble out here. Not by a long shot." She pauses, seemingly to think, before meeting Renala's gaze. "Never like that, though." Her tone is thoughtful, almost, even puzzled.
Renala nods, a frown on her face. "I don't think I've been in worse, either," she says, "and I got into all sorts of trouble during my maiden years." She wraps a hand around her drink, but doesn't pick it up yet.
Iressa look down, still appearing thoughtful. She wipes away a bit of drink that's spilled on the counter before responding. "Let's hope that's the most... excitement, either of us experience in our lives." With a small grin, the younger asari raises her drink to that hopeful wish. "But while we're here, I think I'd like to hear about these maiden adventures of yours, even if they're not as exciting as slavery."
Renala picks up her drink and raises it in turn, a soft laughter escaping her. "You really want to know, huh?" she says. "I've done my fair share of things not to be proud of. From being a hired gun to... working in the most sleezy shitholes on Omega."
Iressa sets her glass down after taking a sip, spinning it a bit against the countertop as she speaks. "Omega, huh? That's one place I try my best to avoid. Granted, it's not very hard for me- the only thing close to interesting wildlife there is the fungus growing on the food in the marketplaces." She shudders at the thought. "Even so, you've still gotten me curious of just what people do for work on that station."
Renala hums thoughtfully, wondering how to put it. "If you can fight, dance or serve drinks, it's easy finding work there," she says. "Not safe work, necessarily, but work." Renala takes a small sip of her drink. "I admit, I liked the thrill of living there back then, but we're not maidens forever."
Iressa shrugs, "I suppose that's true." She responds, taking another sip of her drink. "Oh, I almost forgot." The asari turns, looking to see if anyone's nearby before continuing. "How's Steve doing? He... didn't seem too well when I last saw him."
Renala thinks for a moment. "I haven't seen him since we got back," she says. "Most of yesterday went into just taking it easy after the previous day." Another sip of her drink follows before she adds, "How's your krogan friend faring?"
Iressa glances up the stairs to the next floor, as if he would emerge at the mention of himself. "He's doing alright now. Nothing could ever take him out of action for very long." She gives Ren a brief smile, "And I'm happy to see he hasn't held any grudge against Steve for what happened in there. At least, I don't think he has."
Renala frowns. "Steve had to make a tough decision, and a split-second one at that," she says. "Darsk probably understands that." She sips her drink. "Though, I admit, he seemed most distraught about the loss of his gear in the end, so I'd guess he probably got over it."
Iressa shrugs, "I think it's somewhat of a krogan thing, if that's fair to say. We'll get some better replacement armor somewhere, and he'll feel better about it." She adds dismissively, not very sympathetic to the plight in general. "At least we all got out of there with our lives. I mean, barring of course..." Iressa frowns, unsure how to respond to the death of someone she barely "It's a shame."
Renala looks away, and nods. "Yeah," she says. "I hope she got out of there on her own. She seemed like a tough woman from what little I know of her."
Iressa blinks, furrowing her brow in confusion. "I... I think I misunderstood." She answers quietly, taking a sip of her drink . Her expression remains thoughtful. "I don't know if you came across her at all on your way out, but when I did... she wasn't in a very good position. When Steve said she didn't make it out, I assumed... well, you know. Let's hope I'm wrong about that."
Renala frowns. "I'll admit," she begins in a lowered voice, "we never met her up on the top level. In fact, most of them were gone. Some sort of internal conflict, from what I gather." She pauses, thinking. "It may have been a bad call, I'm not denying that, but we'd have nothing to go on if we were to search for her."
Iressa shakes her head, rolling the glass between her hands. "I can't even say I blame you. Even if you did happen to find her, it wouldn't come without a veritable army standing in your way. We all did what we had to do back there." She finishes, polishing off her drink.
Renala nods. "We did a lot more than we signed up for, Iressa," she says. "None of us were prepared for the tough decisions that we had to make." She pauses, taking a small sip of the drink. "All we can do is move on, and hope they don't come after us."
Iressa pushes the glass away, deciding against ordering a refill. "You don't really think they would, do you?" She asks, skeptical. "You made it sound as if they had problems within their own organization to attend to."
Renala frowns. "Yeah, but they might get those issues straightened out," she says. "I know they don't really seem like the smartest bunch, but we did do a lot of damage to them and their mine while making our escape." A brief pause follows. "It's hard to imagine them just shrugging that off."
Iressa pauses to think a moment, "I mean, I understand them not being happy about us detonating their mine, but I hadn't thought of the possibility of them going that out of their way to track us down. But why wouldn't they?" She gives the bar a rather paranoid look-over then stands, handing over her payment to the bartender. "Well, I really have to be getting back to my room. There's still a bit of work to catch up on after... well, that. Plus, I have to make sure that krogan hasn't eaten any of my samples." Iressa smiles and raises her hand in a good-bye gesture, turning to ascend the stairs and disappear into the upper floor.
