#Miner'sRespite – December 20, 2013

Va'ynna is standing behind the bar, looking slightly bored as there are not many patrons present. She's wearing her red dress, which is modest but hugs her figure somewhat.

Kim steps into the inn. Her clothes are less casual than before, now bringing herself inside within a formal one-piece, albeit somewhat wrinkled at this point. Her hair, still tied back, is slightly unkempt at certain parts. Otherwise, she looks much the same as she did last time she was here. It only takes her several seconds after seeing the familiar asari to cross the open space to where she is standing. She puts a smile on her face as she slips into one of the barstools, raising an arm in greeting at the same time. "Hey, V! You could pass for a misled tourist, the way you look right now!"

Va'ynna looks at the woman as she enters, at first unsure of whether she is the same person she met a week or so ago. She's not really been outside asari space for long, and have thus not ment many humans. A small smile crosses her lips as a greeting confirms it and she takes a few steps towards her. "Hey... Tess," she says, not too certain. "Um, how so?"

Kim follows the asari with her eyes and gives no indication of being put off by the response. "You know... a tourist who was promised all these grand sights and experiences," she states with an accompanied show using her hands in order to help illustrate her point. "Except where they actually go is a barren rock where the only thing to experience is excess heat and boredom." She stops for a second before shaking her head slightly. "But it was just a joke, no need to take it too seriously."

Va'ynna nods. "I just wanted to find a world that's a little bit exciting, but not too dangerous," she says. "I've not been in the Terminus for long." She pauses for a moment, glancing towards the side. "Oh, is there anything I can get you?"

Kim nods and points to something on the menu. "I'll get a glass of that," she states while not particularly looking all that interested in the drink itself. She quickly turns back to the asari's face with a small twinkle in her eye. "I can definitely understand excitement, but be careful what you wish for." She winks and leans back to give the asari room.

Va'ynna nods after following her pointed finger, and goes to fetch the bottle; considering the question in the meantime. It takes a good few seconds beforeo she manages to locate it and return with it. "I am," she says as she grabs a glass from beneath the counter and pours it before placing it on the counter. "That's why I'm serving drinks, and not being a merc or something." She screws the lid back on and places the bottle beneath the counter for the time being.

Kim laughs softly and takes a drink from the glass before putting it down on the counter. "Not a fighter? Can't say I blame you; it takes a specific kind of person to be able to do that sort of thing without breaking."

Va'ynna nods, agreeing. "Yeah, I'd definitely break, I think," she says. "I might go to the range when my pay can actually cover it, so that I'd be able to defend myself at least." She glances around the bar, as she's still working even though she converses. None are signalling for service, however.

Kim smiles knowingly. "Maybe we should go together sometime. I need to get my aim back to par," she states before downing a significant amount in the glass. "I've been swamped with so much lately that I haven't been able to breathe, much less practice."

Va'ynna smiles. "Yeah, I'd like to," she says. "I'd warn you, though, I'm ridiculously bad at it." She pauses for a moment before adding, "I admit, I'd probably be too... uncomfortable standing beside armed strangers, so I appreciate your idea."

Kim winks and leans forward. "Don't worry, I wouldn't let anything happen to you. I'm not as helpless as I might look," she states ominously. The accompanying expression doesn't match her appearance that well, but she isn't fazed at all. After a moment, she reaches up and starts trying to straighten her hair, making small mumble sounds to herself with her eyes on the counter.

Va'ynna tilts her head. "I don't think you look helpess, Tess," she says with a small smile, looking a little confused. "Um... is something wrong?" Another glance around follows, but there are still no other patrons requesting to be served out of the three people present at the bar.

Kim lowers her hands and shakes her head vigorously to settle her hair, then shakes it less vigorously as a response to the question. "Nope, just suddenly remembered that I'm not as presentable as I usually am," she responds with a firm smirk on her face. "If I'm going to be going out into public, I have to look my best."

Va'ynna eyes the alien bundle of strings with slight curiosity while the other woman settled her hair, then smiles sheepishly as she catches herself and straightens up. "Can't be easy," she says before immediately regretting that, looking flustered as she adds, "Oh Goddess... that didn't come out as I meant. Those... uh, strings? Looks difficult to keep from messing up." She averts her gaze, looking down. "Sorry," was added in a murmur.

Kim blinks at the asari, then bursts out laughing a few seconds later. "Oh, you mean my hair? Yeah, can't deny that at all. There's a reason you have to have it cut really short in the Alliance. There's nothing worse than getting into an armored suit and having to deal with hair in your eyes for several hours at a time." She stops to wrinkle her nose. "It's not pleasant."

Va'ynna nods at the first question, her cheeks still a little more purple than usual. "Oh," she begins, not knowing what to say to not feel like a bigger idiot. "I'm... sorry to hear that." She taps her right outermost crest, "These can be annoying at times, but they stay in place at least."

Kim downs the rest of her glass and places it down on the counter, then fixes her gaze on the asari's crest. "I've always wondered what having those would be like, but I also don't want to know at the same time. The cold is so much more bearable with this wall of eternal annoyance," she explains while reaching up to grab her ponytail. After a quick flick bringing it over her left shoulder, she plants her arm back on the countertop.

Va'ynna nods. "Yeah, the cold's bad on them," she says, "but I never go out when it's freezing without a hood or something to cover them." Another glance around follows, but there are still no one indicating they want another drink.

Kim nods in understanding. "Figured, but I guess it was fun to think there might have been some kind of cold-resistant skin or some-" She stops as her omni-tool activates itself and flashes. "Oh, sorry, I have to go. Here's what I owe you," she adds as she hurriedly pulls out a credit chit and slides it over. "Stay safe, V. Don't become another misled tourist, okay?" Without even waiting for a response, she jumps out of the stool and speedily moves towards the entrance of the inn. After a quick wave once she arrives, she slips out of the building.

Va'ynna nods, not getting a chance to give any further response. She takes the chit, and registers the tab she had neglected to write earlier. Va'ynna continues working the reliatively calm shift until it's over two hours later.
