Va'ynna is currently sitting at a booth near the bar, reading on her datapad. There's an empty plate and glass on the table before her. She seems to glance around every half a minute or so. Va'ynna is wearing a green shirt and dark-gray pants.

Iressa quickly descends the staircase, hands clasped together out in front of her as she scans the floor she's rapidly approaching. Nearly slipping down the last step, the asari pauses before proceeding further into the bar. She's dressed very casually, almost "sitting around the house" casual, and appears to be actively sorting things out in her overworked head. The constant wringing and tensing of her hands does little to erase concern. Suddenly realizing she's been standing perfectly still at the base of the steps, Iressa swiftly makes her way over to a place at the bar.
Va'ynna looks up and notices the asari at the stairs, nearly staring at her with a inner conflict, intimidated by approaching this stranger for such a specific purpose. She had to, Va'ynna figured as she stood up, the datapad's screen going dark. The asari balances the plate and glass ontop the dataslate and makes her way over to the bar. She places the empty plate onto the counter before the seat on the other asari's right. "E...Excuse me?" she begins in an attempt to get the Iressa's attention, looking a little tense. "Are you miss... T'Selvos?"
Iressa blinks twice before turning to look at the other asari, scanning her face for clues as to why she's being addressed so directly. "Yes." She manages to force after a moment's hesitation. Dropping her hands into her lap, she tries to offer Va'ynna her full attention. "That's me. Why?" She asks, unusually curt.
Va'ynna takes the seat beside her, remaining quiet for a few seconds as she picks her word with some caution. "We've... gotten guest complaints about your room," she begins in a lowered voice, and averts her gaze. "And, um, I live next to it."
Iressa slumps in her seat, her expression a mix of mortification and something not easily recognizable. "Oh... I see." She murmurs, staring at a piece of the bar countertop. "I-I do apologize. Really." Reaching up, her rubs the back of her neck, averting her gaze in embarrassment. "We-... I'll try to keep it down. I'm sorry to disturb you." She turns from the other asari, cursing herself silently.
Va'ynna looks away, as well. "My e...-" she almost takes a double take as the krogan takes a seat at the bar, wishing she was anywhere but here right now. She has been lucky to avoid krogan patrons, which means Va'ynna have yet to meet one in person. She takes a deep breath and returns her gaae at the fellow asari, trying to not think of the krogan's presence. "What I mean to say is, that my employer doesn't.... doesn't... tolerate it." An almost quiet addition follows, "I'm sorry."
Bartender | "Coming right up," the human bartender says says before making his way back to the kitchen. He returns moments later with a bottle that's roughly two pints in volume and pours a pint-glass of it and leaves it along with the bottle on the counter before him. "Anything else?"
Iressa senses the krogan's approach before he's in sight, fighting the urge to turn and look as he stomps toward the bar with absent-minded determination. For the time being she leaves him to his drink, focusing on the matter at hand. "Oh." she responds simply, admittedly not surprised but disheartened all the time. "How... um, how long do I have, then?" The forlorn asari questions, occupying herself with wiping the countertop with the edge of her hand.
Darsk slowly reaches for the glass and takes a drink before returning his attention to the bartender. "No." He sits in silence and pretends to ignore the other patrons, drinking from his pint glass. He appears sullen and remote.
Va'ynna looks away for a moment, appearing thoughtful as much as tense. "Um," she begins, not able to look at Iressa. "Until your current lease expires." She takes a deep breath. "But," she qickly adds. "I... don't just want to throw you out, and Miss D'Inea allowed me.... Told me to offer you another room at only half the price for twenty days."
Darsk looks up, as if overhearing the conversation. He turns to Iressa and opens his mouth as if to speak, but then looks away again. Hoping to avoid confrontation, he finishes his drink, pays for it, and heads back up the stairs.
Iressa furrows her brow, studying the countertop for a few moments before turning to face the other asari. "I... I don't understand. Why?" She questions, turning slightly to watch the krogan returning upstairs and letting out a quiet sigh.
Va'ynna winces as the krogan gets up from the seat, but relaxes as she notices the stomping is in the direction of the stairs. "You... you're a regular," she says before looking towards some point on the wall. "And... it's obvious you two don't... get along."
Iressa clears her throat, averting her gaze as confusion turns back to shame. "I... oh. That sounds... great." She rests her elbow against the countertop and her palm against her temple, staring off past Va'ynna's head as she takes it all in. "I appreciate it, Miss... uh..." She trails off, glancing at the asari uncomfortably.
Va'ynna looks back at Iressa, forcing a smile as she reluctantly extends her hand. "Oh, um, sorry," she says. "I'm Va'ynna." She pauses for a moment. "Pleased to meet you."
Iressa gives a short, dry laugh. "Under different circumstances, I might believe you." She returns, but accepts the offered hand all the same. Settling back in her bar stool, she gives a few short glances around before continuing. "So... h-how loud were we?" She manages despite visibly increasing embarrassment.
Va'ynna looks thoughtful for a few seconds. "I couldn't make out any of your words, and... I don't sleep with my translator on," she answers. "I can do with loud... but... but I'm...," she looks away, a little ashamed, "I'm afraid of krogan."
Iressa gives a slight head tilt, more relaxed now about having two rooms and interested in not antagonizing the Respite staff anymore than she already had. "I think that's pretty reasonable." She offers, "They're not... you don't want them angry." Iressa glances toward the steps, visibly shuddering. "I assure you I won't be offended. Is... is there any particular reason, if you don't mind my curiosity?"
Va'ynna shakes her head as she looks at the other asari, though not making eye-contact. "They're big, strong, and I've heard they're usually not... kind," she replies. "And I have... never met one." She pauses, seeming reluctant for a moment, but decides to add, "I... um, I've had trouble sleeping with one next door. One that sounds angry."
Iressa frowns, "Again, I'm very sorry. It never occured to me just how loud it was." She responds, rubbing slightly on her temple. "At any rate, I'll pay for the extra room. We won't cause trouble for you anymore."
Va'ynna lets out a small smile, a genuine one at least. "Don't worry about me," she says. "I... I''m... I should have told you earlier. This... um, can't be easy for you."
Iressa nods, looking down. "It... It's been rough." She admits, lowering her voice considerably and shooting off a few glances around the floor before continuing. "Truthfully, I might feel better just having a bit of... distance." She murmurs, adding one more thought as she watches the staircase absently. "Sometimes krogan scare me too."
Va'ynna tilts her head sympathetically, but is at a loss of words for a moment. She raises her hand a bit as if she were to place it on the other asari's shoulder, but she decides against it. "I-I'm... sorry to hear that," she says. "We're not full-booked, I checked earlier today, so you can... move today."
Iressa nods, "Thanks." She quickly responds, fearing she's divulged too much to a near stranger. Sliding off the stool, she remains facing Va'ynna. "Is there anything else you needed me for?" She asks, probably eager to go and get some restful sleep for once.
Va'ynna glances towards the bartender, who is serving another patron. She looks back at her. "No, um, well, yes," she says as she stands up in turn, and makes her way to the edge of the bar and enters, stopping at to the terminal nearest Iressa. "How long should I set up the booking for?" she asks while tapping away at the HI keyboard, still looking towards the other asari.
Iressa takes a step toward the terminal and Va'ynna, leaning against the counter now. "Well, I'll start with twenty days. After that... we'll have to see. Is that alright?"
Va'ynna nods. "Mhm," she says. "I'll just copy the details from your last booking... and done." She pauses, looking up. "How would you like to pay for it?"
Iressa takes a moment to dig in her pocket, pulling out a credit chit and wordlessly sliding it across the countertop.
Va'ynna takes the chit and applies the charge to it. "Thank you," she says as she hands it back, a smile present across her lips. "Have a pleasant stay."
Iressa manages a sideways grin. "Thanks." She says, dropping the chit back into her pocket. "I'll be seeing you." Giving a little wave, the asari turns to make her way back up the steps, unhappy about the conversation she's about to have to have.
