#Miner'sRespite – February 7, 2014

Va'ynna is sitting at the booth nearest the bar, as she often does. While it's her shift, one of the human bartenders are stepping in for her today. There is a glass of water and a shut-off datapad laying on the table infront of her. The asari is wearing a dark-green dress.

Zaylus casually descends from the upper floor of the Respite, looking almost bored. He wanders out onto the floor for a few moments, nonchalantly surverying the crowd. It doesn't take long to spot the familir purple asari, and when he does, a soft smile flickers to life. The turian approaches her booth, promptly offering a greeting. "Hey, Va'ynna. How're you doing?" He asks, genuinely interested. He's wearing his standard armor, though shows no signs of planning to leave the building.

Va'ynna looks up to the turian, not looking too awake and alert. She does offer a tiny smile. "Hey," she says, her voice a little lower than usual. "A little better, I suppose..., but I still think about... what happened." Va'ynna lifts her glass and sips it.

Zaylus nods quietly, "Yeah, it sure was... wild." He says, frowning at his own choice of words. "Would you mind if I sat with you?" He asks uneasily, unsure how to treat the asari in this state.

Va'ynna | "I wouldn't mind," she murmurs as she glances towards the datapad with a frown. "I can't get any reading done... so, please do."

Zaylus climbs into the seat across from her, looking either uncomfortable or embarrased by his lack of new reassurances. He glances at the bar once in his discomfort, and senses the discrepancy. "Didn't your employer give you some time off for... you know. You could get out of here for a bit, do something fun." He suggests, gesturing out towards the door. "Might take your mind off of it, you know?"

Va'ynna looks towards the exit while speaking. "I... have thought of it," she says, "but... he's still out there... I... think I'm safer in here." She picks up her glass again. "Not that I feel safe in here, either, but.... I don't know." She looks a little embarrased as she rambles.

Zaylus frowns, placing his arms on the table in front of him. "You might have a point," He admits, seeming to ponder this problem. "It's not good for you to stay stuck in here all day. Even just a bit of fresh air might do you some good. And hey, I'd be happy to go with you." He offers, "Yeah, I was thinking about going for a bit of a walk. Or, you know, something to just get up and out of my room." The turian nods mostly to himself as he speaks, too rambling somewhat. "Would you feel safer that way?"

Va'ynna closes her eyes for a moment as she considered it. "Yeah... maybe," she says, barely above a whisper as she looks towards the turian. "He-... he could be waiting outside, though." Once again, she looked towards the door, anxiety clear on her face.

Zaylus shakes his head, looking down at the table. "Maybe it wouldn't be so good for you." He quietly admits. "I still don't understand... all that." He mutters, gesturing vaguely around the bar. "But I know there's no way he'd be coming after you. Surely there's something bigger going on here." The turian thinks out loud, only noticing the woman again after a few moments of intense pondering. "Oh, uh." He stammers, "Would... would anything help you feel better?"

Va'ynna frowns thoughtfully. "If only I knew," she sighs. "Just.... I think I'll get over it... one day. I always do." She pauses, taking a long sip of her glass of water. "Did.... Do you know if Jason found out anything about him? The salarian, I mean."

Zaylus shakes his head. "I haven't heard from him. I wouldn't expect that salarian to have anything to say to him, honestly." He replies, tapping a talon absently against the table before continuing, "I'll keep an eye on that, though. It sure would be nice if he had something to say for himself concerning all of this." The turian says with a sigh, resting his head in his palm. "Hey, wasn't the owner of this place asking about adding some security? Seems a bit odd for a place like this, but I can't say I blame her. Oughta keep the riff raff in check."

Va'ynna glances towards the bar, nodding. "I... think we were just lucky you and Jason... and T'Iavay were here," she says as she returns her gaze. "I don't... want to think what would happen.... And yeah, she said she would send a message to the agency, and I think she did."

Zaylus nods quietly, "I don't want to either. Maybe Jason will work out a contract with her, see what we can do about that." He says with a slight shrug, glancing at the stairs once. "I uh, hate to do this, V." He says, looking a bit embarrased. "But I really have to go, not that I want to." The turian climbs back out of the seat, looking back at her again, apologetically. "I'm... sorry to go so soon."

Va'ynna reaches for her datapad, placing a hand on it idly. "It's alright, Zaylus," she says, though she looks a tiny bit saddened. "I'll see you again."

Zaylus hesitates, as if debating the possibility of staying, but an unknown force drives him away. "Yeah, I'll see you." He says quietly, giving a small wave as he turns to go. A few moments later he's gone, disappeared up the steps of the Respite.

Va'ynna remains in her booth for a while, sometimes picking up the datapad to read without much to gain from it as her mind is elsewhere. After about twenty minutes, she heads upstairs to her own room, bringing the datapad with her.
