Va'ynna is sitting on the 'wrong side' of the bar, not being at work despite this time of day being her shift; one of the human bartenders stepping in. There's a glass of water on the counter before her, and the datapad's bag rests against the bar counter just by her feet. She seems tired, and not in the best of moods. The asari is dressed in a snug, but modest red dress, sitting alone in the far from crowded bar.
#Miner'sRespite – February 9, 2014
Victoria walks down into the bar, wearing her white tank top and dark green long pants. She sees an asari sitting by herself and decides to take a seat next to her. ''Why, hello there.''
Va'ynna jerks her head in the direction of the woman sitting beside her, rather too quickly. "Wha-.... Hey," she says. "Who-- what..." she trails off, looking rather embarrased with her fumbling with words, adding a murmur of, "Sorry."
Victoria looked at the asari and gave her a puzzled look ''You looked lonely, thought I would give you some company. I could leave if you want.''
Va'ynna just stares quietly for a few seconds, her cheeks getting a tiny bit purpler at the compliment. "No, don't," she says, taking a sip of her glass. Va'ynna takes a slightly deep breath before adding, "I'm just.... It's been some bad days."
Victoria nodded at the asari and waved over the bartender ''You want to talk about it then? Might make you feel better?''
Va'ynna nods faintly. "You... got the message from D'Inea?" she asks before looking at her glass, turning it idly as she thinks about it, looking extremely uneasy as she recalls the situation. "I... I worked here when it happened."
''Oh.. I'm sorry to hear that.'' She could tell that the asari was not fine with the situation at all. ''It must have been... you did not get hurt during did you?''
Va'ynna shakes her head. "I... um, almost did," she says. "Someone... wanted to kill me." She is still looking at the glass, breathing shakily. "They shot at me, but... missed." The bartender comes around to serve them, and Va'ynna orders another glass of water.
Victoria orders herself a glass of water for a change. She then gave the asari a hug ''Oh, I am so sorry to hear that. But atleast you did not get hurt.''
Va'ynna is completely still when the other woman hugs her, completely at a loss of what to do. She seems more than tense as she awkwardly winds an arm around Victoria, though without laying her hand on her. She doesn't say a word, either.
Victoria released her hold on the woman and offered a friendly smile to the asari, which she hoped the asari would see as friendly.
Va'ynna drinks the last of her glass before looking at Victoria, a sheepish smile appearing. "Th-thank you," she murmurs, hoping that's the right words to say. "So... I, um, I don't think I've met you before."
''I don't think we have either.'' She offers the asari a hand ''I'm Victoria. Pleasure to meet you.'' She said with a smile.
Va'ynna turns in her seat towards Victoria, facing her fully, and reluctantly extends her hand to take hers. "I'm Va'ynna," she says. "I work here, usually, but I'm... I have a few days off."
Victoria gives her a hand shake ''It sounds like you needed sometime off after that. Have you been able to have some fun? Might help get your mind off of it.''
Va'ynna sighs. "No, I haven't," she says. "I haven't felt like... doing anything the last few days." The bartender comes around to deliver their glasses, and she picks up hers.
Victoria grabs her glass and takes a sip of her drink ''Well clearly you need to have some fun. Might need someone to drag you around so you can have it.'' She gave a playfull smirk at her.
Va'ynna glances towards the exit with a worried look on her face. "I don't... feel safe outside," she says. "He... is still out there. The one ordering... what happened a few days ago."
''I could protect you, I have some combat experience. Maybe that will make you feel safer?'' She asked the asari.
Va'ynna looks away, seeming thoughtful. "No, I'm... afraid it wouldn't," she murmurs, looking embarrased. "What... if he shot at me?" She takes a long sip of her glass.
Victoria raised her hand and made the asari face her. ''I could wear my armor and have you stand behind me, so he had to shoot me.'' She offered an smile at her.
Va'ynna tenses up as Victoria directs her towards her, but doesn't put up any resustance. She was slightly startled, though, but the water managed to stay in her glass. "Um," she begins. "I... don't know. What if you didn't see him?"
''Well you are an asari... you could give him a bit of a biotic field.'' The smile still present on her face.
Va'ynna shakes her head, appearing thoughtful. "I know... how barriers work, sort of," she says, "but... I don't think I can make it useful."
''Well you have a choice we can go out and try to have some fun or stay in and try to have fun.'' She said to the asari while taking a sip of her drink ''You clearly need to have some fun, to get your mind off of it.''
Va'ynna tilts her head. "I... appreciate the thought, but," she begins, going quiet for a few seconds before continuing. "Um, what do you have in mind?" She sips her glass of water.
''Dancing, drinking, anything really. You need to get your mind on something else.'' She said generally.
Va'ynna hums thoughtfully. "I haven't danced in seven years," she says, "and..." A glance around the floor follows and she shakes her head. "The people... that furnished this place didn't really have it in mind." While there is 8m between the bar and the nearest table, it wasn't much of a dance floor.
''Any other place we could go to dance? Or is the Respite the only place in town?'' She asked, having not really explored the town since her time here.
Va'ynna raises her brows, and shakes her head. "No, there are many others," she says, though her tone is flat. "But... I don't think I want to go outside. And I don't like being stuck in here." She sips her glass. "Sorry," she adds in a murmur.
Victoria puts an arm around Va`ynna shoulder ''That is alright. Just trying to make you feel comfortable.'' She smiled at the asari while taking a sip of her drink.
Va'ynna grows uncomfortable as the other woman's arm is placed around her shoulders, noticably tense, but she doesn't actively do anything about it. "Enough about me," she says with a sigh. "So...um...what do you do around here? If I may ask, of-of course."
Victoria removes her arm away from Va, she saw that she tensed up. ''Have you heard of that Redrock Agency? Well I work for them now.''
Va'ynna nods. "I have," she says. "I know Jason and Zaylus well..., and it was them who.... I don't think... what happened would have... gone well if the two of them and T'Iavay weren't here."
Va'ynna | "Yeah, I know," she says before taking a long sip of her water, offering a weak smile. "D'Inea said she would contact your... agency about it, but... she hasn't told me anything... more than that."
Victoria stroked her chin ''Well I have not heard anything from Jason. AKA the big boss man. But I would be willing to keep you company if you would like.'' She took a sip of her water.
Va'ynna nods. "Thank you," she says, before her omni-tool's repeated notification interrupts her. "Oh...," she mutters before standing up from her seat, and suppressing the sound. "I've got to get going," Va'ynna says. "I'll see you, Victoria."
Va'ynna nods, again, offering a weak smile in return, "Bye." She lingers only for four seconds before downing her glass of water and making her way upstairs.
