#Miner'sRespite – March 10, 2014

Aylena is working at the bar this time. She's in a dark-blue dress with red trims. The asari is currently talking to a human patron making an order.

Ilyna is sitting at the bar, tapping away on her omni-tool as she doesn't pay much attention to her surroundings. There is an almost empty glass of brandy on the counter before her. She is wearing a suit of armor that most she had fought with earlier will remember, and a pistol-sized case rests against the bar by her feet.

Jason enters the Respite in his usual getup. He lingers by the door for a moment until he spots Ilyna at the bar, a smirk tugging at his lips as he recognizes the familiar armor. As he approaches the asari from behind, he plants a hand on her shoulder. "Not too shabby." he comments, giving her shoulder a slight squeeze before hopping onto a stool beside her. "So, time to go home, huh?" he asks, a bit less enthusiastically.

Ilyna tenses a little at the hand on her shoulder, letting her omni-tool dissipate immediately. "Hey," she says with a nod as she turns to him. "Yeah, it's been great seeing you and Tarlon again, but I... have already stayed longer than I planned."

Jason frowns a bit. "Definitely was nice seeing you again." he sighs before raising an eyebrow, "Tarlon?" he asks, "You finally got your hands on that asshole?"

Ilyna chuckles, and nods. "I met him here a few days ago," she says. "He had just been in a dangerous area... doing his research."

Jason 's smile returns somewhat as he gives a shake of his head. "That frog's gonna get himself killed one day." he mutters before giving a long, drawn out sigh. He gives a wave towards Aylena in an attempt at getting her attention as he speaks to Ilyna, "So, now that you've spent a bit of time here, what do you think of our little town?"

Ilyna smiles. "I really like it here," she says. "The place has most of what I like, and it's not a long walk to the nearest stores. I don't think I would come here again if it weren't for you, though."

Jason tilts his head to the side, "Why is that?" he asks, giving another glance in Aylena's direction to see if she's caught site of him yet, "What's it missing?"

Aylena nods and walks over to where Jason and Ilyna is, looking at him. "Can I get you anything?" she asks.

Ilyna frowns. "I don't really have any income anymore," she says, "all credits spent here is out of my savings from when I was."

Jason gives Aylena a nod. "Rum and coke." he orders, quickly turning back to Ilyna, "Yeah, but it's not like getting a job here would be impossible. That's an issue you're gonna have anywhere you go."

Ilyna glances up at the other asari. "Another glass of Serrice Ice," she orders after Jason speaks. "I know, but I meant going here on vacation. If I'm to stay here for longer, I'll definitely look for a job." She picks up her drink and sips the remainder of it.

Aylena nods. "Sure, coming right up." She heads over to the back wall, picking up the buttles for their ordered drinks.

Jason leans forward, resting his forearms against the counter. "I won't bug you about it... But you better come back." he says to Ilyna as he watches Aylena prepare the drinks, "Maybe next time I won't be so buried in work and we can find something fun to do." he adds, glancing towards Ilyna, "Sorry about that, by the way... Right now work just requires a lot of my time. Hopefully once things start panning out I won't need to be so involved."

Ilyna chuckles. "Nothing to be sorry about," she begins, "I had my own share of things to do that got in the way too, but next time...." She sighs. "Though, I'll need a part time job if I want to visit you again."

Jason gives a shrug, "I'm trying to stay positive. Who knows, maybe things will calm down a bit and business will take off. Then maybe the next trip will be on me." he says, giving the asari a wink.

Ilyna smiles. "I'd really appreciate it, but I'll probably take you up on your offer of a room at the agency then," she says. "I think half of what I've spent on this trip has been here."

Jason chuckles to himself, "Hey... I offered you a place to stay. You've got nobody but yourself to blame for being stubborn." he teases, "The agency has an entire second floor that's pretty much empty right now. Would've had your run of the place!"

Aylena returns with the bottles, and pours the glasses. She smiles slightly, but refrains from commenting on the matter. "Here," she places their ordered drinks before them and heads over to another patron that's signaling for her.

Ilyna nods at the bartender as she picks up the drink, then frowns. "Point... taken," she says. "I didn't think it was too expensive for ten or fifteen days, but for twenty-six... maybe. And," a grin creeps up, "would you be too happy if I was bothering you during your work every day?" Her tone isn't entirely serious.

Jason tosses his hands up in a shrug, "Wouldn't bother me in the least." he admits. His smile widens a bit, "It's not like I actually do anything anyways. My days usually consist of Linda bringing some issue up that we need to handle... And then I browse the extra-net until she figures out how to fix it. The only time I get anything done is when someone knocks on my door and I have to pretend to be busy." he says, leaving it unclear whether or not he's joking.

Jason rotates on his stool to face Ilyna as he furrows his brow, "And there is some fuuuucked up shit out there on the extra-net." he says, giving a mock shiver of disgust before adding, "It's preeeeetty awesome."

Ilyna chuckles. "I can imagine," she says. "I can't say I use it that often, but I've seen my fair share of... interesting things. I don't really actively seek it out anymore... at least nothing compared to when I was in my fifties."

Jason raises an eyebrow. "So... What I'm getting out of this is-..." he raises an eyebrow, "...you used to actively seek it out? You filthy thing!" he jokes, "I never would've had you pegged as such a pervert. My entire image of you is destroyed."

Ilyna tilts her head, her cheeks growing a little purple. "No, no, I didn't think you were talking about that," she says, assuming he meant adult content. "I was... well, really shy and reclusive when I was in my forties and much of my fifties, because... you know." She takes a sip of her drink.

Jason eyes her suspiciously for a moment. "Uh huh... Uh huh. Of course not. Me either." he says before leaning closer to the asari and giving an obvious wink. "Your secret is safe with me." he adds before taking a sip of his drink.

Ilyna | "And yours with me," she says with a chuckle, her tone not entirely serious. "Though, I was talking about two and a half century ago."

Jason shrugs, "And I was talking about two and a half hours ago. Same difference, right?" he asks with a large grin.

Ilyna grins. "If you say so," she says followed by a sip of her drink. "So," she goes back to the other subject, "if you've only pretended to be busy, why didn't you call me? I've thought you had more to do than I."

Jason tilts his head to the side. "It was a joke, Ilyna..." he offers, "A bad joke, apparently, but a joke." He gives a short chuckle before continuing, "But hell, if you wanted to hang around the office and watch me stare at my terminal and make a bunch of boring phone calls, you should've stopped by! You missed out." he sighs, "Ah well. There's always next time."

Ilyna nods. "Yeah, there is..." She pauses, raising her brows. "Oh," she says, reaching under her chair to pick up the pstiol case. "Since I'm commited to giving up my mercenary career," she places the case on the counter between them and turns back to face him. "I... thought you should have it. It's my submachine gun."

Jason stares at the case for a moment before glancing towards Ilyna once again, a frown on his face. "I-... Thanks, Ilyna." he manages, reaching out to pull the case towards himself, "Like I said... I respect what you're doing, but part of me hopes you'll ask for this back one day." he says, a slight smirk tugging at the corner of his mouth, "I'll take good care of it for you."

Ilyna removes her hand from the case and nods. "I hope it'll help you out," she says, offering a small smile. "Maybe some day I'll work for you and Linda, but it'll be taking up the offer you gave me a while back, which... I don't think included being out in the field. If the offer's still there, of course."

Jason nods sternly, "Of course. Always. But you know how things go with me. I always manage to figure out a way to get shot at." he says almost proudly, but obviously joking, "So it just might be the most dangerous office work you've ever seen..."

Ilyna chuckles. "I think your problem is not staying in the office," she says, not too serious. "If that's wrong... I'll make sure to practice my barriers more often from now on."

Jason considers the statement for a moment, taking another sip of his drink as he does, "I'd say it's better to be safe than sorry. Especially considering you'd be working with Linda. I'm sure you haven't forgotten how much of a blast she is at parties..." he jokes, although in somewhat poor taste. He quickly cringes at his own distasteful joke.

Ilyna raises an eyebrow, staring at him for a few seconds, though she noticed the cringe. "I... do remember that," she says, "I heard about it the-... one of the days after."

Jason nods, "I'm just kidding... I mean, she hasn't even tried to kill me in over a year." he jokes once again, although this time he doesn't seem to notice how distasteful the joke is, as he begins chuckling to himself right after.

Ilyna tilts her head. "Goddess," she says. "That's not a nice thing to say about her. I know I haven't met her since... you know, but I remember a reasonable woman." She takes a long sip of her drink.

Jason cringes and puts his hands up defensively, "No, no, no... I didn't mean anything by it." he pleads, sighing loudly, "Sometimes I open my mouth and shit just tumbles out... You should know that by now. I was just trying to say she's calmed down a lot since all-... that."

Ilyna nods, offering a small apologetic smile. "Oh, right; I'm sorry," she says. "Maybe I should meet her some day, since I haven't even seen her since... all that."

Jason 's smile returns as he takes another large swig from his drink, swallowing it with a satisfied sigh. "Yeah. Maybe..." he says, trailing off a bit. "She still hasn't even talked to Tarlon. I'm not sure, but I think it bothers her... Her condition, I mean." he says before shaking his head, "Well no... I mean, obviously it bothers her. But... I think it's hard for her to face

the people she used to know. Think she's afraid of being seen as-... weak?" he sighs and shrugs slightly, "I don't know. She'll be alright though."

Ilyna | "Oh, I.... Maybe it's best you ask her first when I come back here," she says. "I'll stay away if she's not... comfortable seeing me again." Her omni-tool makes a beeping notification and she quickly reads a short message before letting it dissipate. "I've got to get going," she says with a frown, "but we've got time to take the picture."

Jason goes to respond to her when he's cut off by the asari's omni-tool. With a sigh, he climbs off of his stool, forcing a smile. "Yeah." he says with a nod, "You're not leaving until I get my picture." he teases before waving towards Aylena. "Hey!" he shouts at the bartender, "You got time to take a picture for us?"

Aylena looks towards Jason as he waves to her, not currently tending to anyone. "Why not," she mutters as she approaches them, enabling her omni-tool. "Sure, I can do that," she answers. "Where do you want me to take it?"

Jason gives a shrug. "Right here is as good of a place as any, I guess." he says, taking a couple steps away from the counter. "Get over here, Ilyna." he continues, waving the asari over to his side.

Ilyna gets out of her seat, nodding appreciatively towards the other asari before making her way over to Jason's side, facing the counter.

Jason wraps an arm around Ilyna's waist and pulls her in close. He looks towards the counter with a big lopsided grin on his face.

Ilyna winds an arm around his waist in turn, looking towards the other asari with a smile.

Jason holds his position awkwardly, shifting slightly a few times as he waits for Aylena to take the picture.

Aylena taps on her omni-tool, and a screen of extrudes showing to the two a mirror image of them as she positions her omni-tool to include them both, holding it steadily. There is a few blinks on the side of the camera feed before it takes two pictures with a flash, catching the attention of some patrons. "There," she says, sifting through 20 pictures on a grid-view, taken over the course of a second; the last two being with the flash applied.

Jason releases his hold on Ilyna and lifts his arm. He begins poking at his omni-tool as he speaks, "Alright, Aylena... Much appreciated. Just transfer 'em all over." he requests.

Ilyna smiles, letting go of the human in turn. "Thank you, Aylena," she says.

Aylena nods. "My pleasure," she says with a smile, tapping on her omni-tool to send the pictures over to both of them. "And there; sent."

Jason taps a few more buttons, confirming that he's received the pictures. His smile widens as he nods to himself. "Thaniks a lot, Aylena." he says, scrutinizing the pictures. After a moment, he whistles loudly. "Absolutely beautiful." he says, "Just perfect." He allows the interface to dissipate as he glances over at Ilyna, "You don't look too bad either." he adds with a chuckle.

Ilyna chuckles as she glances over the pictures before letting the interface fade out. "Thank you," she repeats to the asari with a grin before turning towards the Jason, holding her arms out for a hug.

Jason steps into Ilyna's reach and once again wraps his arms around the asari's waist. "I'm gonna miss you." he says with a sigh, squeezing her tightly, "So don't stay gone too long."

Ilyna returns the hug, squeezing him as well. "I'll miss you too, Jason," she says, sounding a little saddened. "And I won't. I'll come back as soon as I have time... and credits."

Aylena nods, and lets her omni-tool's glow dissipate. "I'm glad I could help," she says before making her way over to another patron who's been waiting for a minute.

Jason retains his bear hug on the asari, "And send me a message when you get back." he adds, "We've gotta keep in touch this time."

Ilyna nods slightly "Mhm," she says, "I know of... the consequences." Her tone was a little over the top.

Jason nods in turn. "Asskicking." he says plainly.

Ilyna chuckles, loosening her arms a little, though not letting go of the hug. "I admit... I find the thought of you hunting me down on Thessia... well, funny."

Jason follows suit, allowing some slack on his hug. "You say that now. But you'll be singing a different tune when I come kicking in your front door." he threatens with a smirk.

Ilyna grins, playing along with the (hopefully) joking threat. "Well, that relies on knowing which front door to kick in," she chuckles.

Jason scowls playfully at the asari, "I'll just-... Uhh... Kick 'em all in! And then drag you back here kicking and screaming!"

Ilyna raises her brows. "Okay, okay, I'll do what you say," she says, sounding afraid, belied by her smile, "even if you'd be dragging Matriarch Ilyna out of there."

Jason 's scowl turns into a smile and he begins to chuckle. "I'll count that as a victory." he says. "It really was great to be able to spend some time with you again, Ilyna. Take care of yourself." he says before leaning in and planting a kiss on the asari's cheek with a loud, exaggerated 'MWAH'

Ilyna blushes at the kiss, but she can't help but smile widely. "You too, Jason," she says. "And yeah, it's been great." She lets go of the hug entirely. "I hope we'll both be less busy next time, so we can go out somewhere."

Jason nods as he releases the hug, sighing once again. "Definitely. We'll plan ahead of time, set something up." he agrees, retaining a wide if somewhat sad smile.

Ilyna nods. "I like the sound of that," she says. "It might be a while, though, but I will visit you again."

Jason snorts loudly, "As if you have a choice!" he jokes. After a quick chuckle, he nods a few times to himself, "Just take care of the things you have to take care of... Then we'll talk about getting you back out here again, Ilyna."

Ilyna nods, again. "Yeah," she says, "I'll do what I can to get the credits and time to get out here again."

Jason takes a step back towards the bar, retaking his seat on his stool but continues to face Ilyna. "Sounds like a plan." he replies with a smirk.

Ilyna follows him to the bar and picks up her drink. "Then, I suppose I'll get going," she says reluctantly. "I'll... see you again." She downs her glass and places it on the counter near the pistol case that's still liying there.

Jason gives the asari a nod. "I'll see you soon Ilyna." he says, emphasizing his point with a smile.

Ilyna chuckles, returning the smile. She lingers for another second before making her way back to her room upstairs, glancing over her shoulder before disappearing.

Jason watches Ilyna until she disappears up the stairs, his smile disappearing with her. With a sigh, he turns back towards the bar and continues to nurse his drink.
