Va'ynna is sitting at the booth nearest the bar, a glass of water on the table before her. She is currently reading something on a datapad, not paying much attention to her surroundings. She is wearing the red dress that she worse last time when she was with Jason and Alex.
#Miner'sRespite – March 29, 2014
Alex enters the bar, looking as chipper as ever. She looks around for a moment before seeing Va'ynna, Alex approaches her and ask, "May I sit here?"
Va'ynna snaps her head towards the woman as she's spoken to, a little startled, followed by a sheepish smile. "Yeah...," she says before placing the datapad down on the table, the screen's content fading out. "Hey."
Va'ynna looks thoughtful. "I... couldn't," she says. "I couldn't take the offer of... a better pay if I moved out, but... I'm back to work now."
Va'ynna nods. "Yeah," she says, agreeing. "I'm glad I work at the bar less now, though." She pauses. "How... about you?"
Alex looks up at the ceiling a bit, "Still looking around for jobs. I think I might have one now though." She looks back down, and grins.
Va'ynna picks up her glass. "Have... they invited you to an interview?" she asks. "And what... will you be doing?"
Alex nods. "The owner asked if I could come in a week from today, and just fixing things I guess? The owner looked like he hadn't slept in awhile, so I'd be helping with whatever they need."
Va'ynna | "Oh, sounds like your chances... are good, then," she says. "You won't be... talking to customers? That part of... retail jobs can be... not so pleasant."
Va'ynna frowns. "I'm.... It's not that bad," she says. "I... just remember the... unpleasant ones much better... you know?"
Va'ynna nods. "Where... is it?" she says. "Not that... me going outside... is likely." She looks a little embarrased.
Alex frowns, "It's kind of far from here.. When you leave the bar you take a left then keep going there for a while.."
A salarian walks into the establishment, looking around the place. He's of a brown color with some patterns on his forehead. Alex might find him a slight bit familiar, especially the dark-green armor. He has a holstered pistol on his thigh, but it's difficult to identify which sort due to the holster obscuring it.
Alex smiles. "That'd be nice." Alex looks up for a moment at the salarian, and sets her head down on the table. "Keep calm..."
Va'ynna follows her gaze with a tilted head. "What... is it, Alex?" she asks, looking a little nervous.
The salarian spots her, and thanks to their species' very good memory, recognize her. He starts walking towards them, though the expression on his face is unreadable.
Aclen | "Thought I wouldn't find you, did you?" he asks, laying a gloved hand on the edge of the booth couch's backrest.
Alex sits up with a smile, "Ah, no I knew you'd come. Just not so soon." She gestures to the space next to her. "Would you like to have a seat?"
Aclen shakes his head. "No need," she says. "Leaving my store in the asari's care when here." He sniffs. "Damages to the armor are mostly superficial, but will cost you three-thousand."
Aclen nods. "Armor is meant to hold under combat," he says. "If it would break by hitting the floor; would be useless! Not worth forty thousand. Most of this cost if fro the trouble sending my security guard looking for you."
Aclen checks the payment and nods. "Thank you," he says. "Will leave this behind us, then. If you need a new gun, or clips; will be happy to help."
Aclen chuckles, letting go of the backrest. "You say that now," he simply says before taking a step back. "But will take my leave. Mianna is not good with customers."
Va'ynna frowns. "If you... don't... get it," she begins, "I can talk to... D'Inea. Maybe... she'll let you work here."
Va'ynna returns the smile. "I can't promise anything, though," she says, "but... she did let me work here. I was... not qualified to do anything other than... operating the terminals."
Va'ynna nods. "The... point-of-sale terminals," she says. "Where we... keep track of tabs, rent... things like that."
Va'ynna | "Yeah, it is," she says. "And... it's about... the extent of my technical... knowledge. Well..., almost."
Va'ynna looks a the table, thoughtfully. "I... well... uh... yeah," she admits. "It's just... um, how I was... raised, I suppose." She looked a little uncomfortable.
Alex drums her fingers on the table, "Oh that's pretty cool..." She looks down at the table as well, figuring it would be best to end the conversation there. "So, uh, how's working the bar? Do you think it's fun at all?"
Va'ynna frowns, shaking her head as she looks back at Alex, averting her gaze a little. "Well... I feel... good at it when I remember a mix," she says, "but... uh... I'm not very good with people."
Alex smiles, randomly coming up with a game. "Can you name a mix that people order the most or something like that?"
Va'ynna hums thoughtfully. "I... don't remermber if it's popular or just... easy to remember," she says, "but rum and coke. Most people here... just order beer."
Va'ynna stares at her for a moment, then shakes her head. "No," she says. "That would... probably be... lost in translation."
Va'ynna offers a small apologetic smile. "Sorry," she says. "I... would probably not have known anyway," she admits.
Alex shrugs back, "Nah, it's fine." she smirks, "It could have been orange juice, or just anything that starts with o."
Va'ynna nods. "Oh," she says. "I... found out we do have that here, and that..." she looks a little embarrased, "I've used it... often in drinks."
Va'ynna nods. "Yeah... when I looked for it my first day back to work," she says. "It's.... I suppose I'm not used to the taste."
Va'ynna smiles. "Ah... okay," she says before a beep of her omni-tool interrupts her. "Oh... I have to get going." She only has her omni-tool come to life for a second, what pinged her being an alarm.
Alex nods, "Oh, I should probably get going too." Alex moves out of her seat and smiles, "Um, goodnight I guess?"
Va'ynna nods as she stands up. She finds her bag and starts packing the datapad into it. "I'll see you again," she says with a tiny smile. "And... good night."
Va'ynna finishes packing the datapad and downs the glass of water before making her way to, and through, the door to the employees' area.
