Va'ynna is sitting at the bar by herself while waiting for her shift to start, a glass of water on the counter before her. She exchanges a few words with the bartender, Aylena, now and then as it's a rather uneventful afternoon. The asari's dressed in a dark green dress.

Barry shoves his way through the foor, looking as messy as always. He's just off work and is visibly exhausted. The human makes his way to the bar and looks at the barkeep. "Three pints." He grunts, sitting down, his heavy tool-belt clanking as he sits.
Aylena looks up at him and nods, walking over to him. "Bad day, huh?" she says, pouring a glass from the beer tap, and handing a glass of the same beer he ordered yesterday.
Va'ynna glances at the new arrival before returning her attention forward again, seeming a little inattentive to her surroundings.
Barry manages a quick chuckle and settles down, leaning on his elbows. "Nah, nah... looong day." He says with a smile. "There aren't any bad days on the rigs." He looks at Va'ynna and smiles. "Evening."
Aylena nods, placing the other two glasses on the counter. "Mining? I take it you're working for Hnipinn, then," she says.
Barry shakes his head. "Nope, not Hnipinn. Atlas Drilling." He says. Small presence here, only four rigs left. One of them is all mine." He explains, sounding very confident. "Hard work. Long work. Fulfilling work." He then looks over at Va'ynna again. "How's it going?"
Aylena smiles slightly. "I agree. I miss my old business dearly," she says. Without continuing, she makes her way over to another patron that's signaling for service.
Va'ynna looks over to him with a tilted head. She's getting a little worried that she has met him before and simply forgotten. The asari does work here, after all. "I'm fine," she says, fidgeting a little. "Have... we met?"
Barry hms and looks her over. "I don't think so." He says, offering a large, dirty gloved hand. He quickly notices and takes it off. His hand is significantly cleaner. "Barry Stanford. Most people call me Baz, Bazza, or Sabretooth."
Va'ynna moves one seat closer to him, taking his hand after sitting down. "I'm Va'ynna," she says, offering a small smile. "It's nice to meet you..., Barry."
Barry "Nice to meet you too." He says, picking up his pint and taking a long sip. "Lovely name, Va'ynna." He looks her over again and chuckles. "Are you from around here?" he asks.
Va'ynna smiles, her cheeks getting the faintest bit more purple. "Thank you," she says. "I'm... I'm from Sanves, but... I've lived on Thessia mostly."
Barry nods and chuckles. "So a loooong way away." He says, taking another swig. "I meant do you currently live in town?" he asks. "I'm new and looking for any news on what there is to do around here."
Va'ynna glances off to the side, looking a little embarrased. "Um," she begins. "Then... I'm... probably not the one to ask." She picks up her glass of water and takes a sip. "I... live here, upstairs," she says, "but I... I don't leave often."
Barry blinks and chuckles. "You live above a pub?" he asks. "Sounds like my dream home. I live across town in workers' accomodation. Its... cozy. Putting it lightly." He explains before finishing his first pint and grabbing his next one. "Mind if I ask why you stay cooped up?"
Va'ynna | "I... work here," she says, taking a deep breath, "and, well.... It's been a few months now, but there was a... shooting in here. I fear... they're still out there."
Barry blinks and runs a large hand through his hair. "Shiiit..." he whispers, sitting back. "A shooting..." He then sits forward again, sipping his beer. "Aren't there police around here? Cause I don't want to bash someone's head in myself if they try to shoot up the place..." He gestures to his toolbelt. Plenty of potential bashers.
Va'ynna glances at the tools he gestured at before looking back up, averting his gaze. "I... don't know," she says. "The millitia.... They're not like police, I think." She sips her glass again. "There was just... two of them, but... it was terrifying."
Barry nods slowly. "I can understand that. Thankfully, I can't say I've gone through it before." He says, going back to his beer. "SO! Lets talk about something more positive. How's your night going? At least, before I rustled your feathers."
Va'ynna smiles slightly as the heavier subject is put behind them. "Well," she begins. "I'm going to work soon, but if it's... as slow as it's now, it won't be much to do."
Barry smiles widely. "Well ain't that something. I get off work, you're about to start." He says. "What time do you normally finish?"
We close the kitchen two hours before midnight, so after we're done. It usually takes less than an hour.
Va'ynna takes a sip of her glass. "I work in mornings, too, but it's not that bad unless we're full-booked upstairs."
Va'ynna frowns. "His assistant," she says, "I really wish I could work in the kitchen full time, but... I can't. He's better at it, and there's a lot more to be done during the day. D'Inea," she glances towards the bartende who's currently talking to another patron further down the bar, "can't stand out here all day, either."
Barry nods slowly. "Yeah, fair enough. What's on special tonight?" He asks with a broad smile. "Its been a long day. Hours since lunch. I'm starving."
"Might as well have a meal prepared by a pretty Asari, instead of a home cooked meal by a burly man who'd burn water."
Va'ynna looks away for a moment, blushing a little. "Our... our menu doesn't change often," she gestures towards the menu screen, but she is interrupted by her omni-tool's notification before she could continue. Va'ynna looks down at the screen. "Oh... I'm sorry, I have to take this," she says, standing up. "It was... nice to meet you, Barry."
Barry nods with a warm smile. "Nice to meet you too, Va'ynna." he says, then looks over at the menu. It looks pretty good! Certainly beat his plans. Cereal again.
