Sioria pushes the door to the bar open and strides inside. She's wearing turian combat armour painted white with long black highlights. Its certainly seen its fair share of combat, as its scratched and chipped in some places but otherwise kept in good condition. She heads over to the bar and sits down, looking for the bartender.
#Miner'sRespite – July 24, 2014
Va'ynna is standing behind the bar on tihs calm afternoon, occasionally serving the three others sitting by the bar or people leaving their tables to order. She's in a dark-green modest dress covering everything from the neck and down. Upon seeing the turian arrive, she walks over to her. "Hey," she says, remaining calm quite well with some signs of nervousness. "What can I get you?"
Sioria pulls off her helmet and sets it on the bar with a heavy. She rubs her eyes with one hand before looking up at Va'ynna. "Something strong. Long day." she says, curtly.
Va'ynna nods and makes her way over to the back wall, finding a bottle relatively quickly given the small selection of dextro drinks they have to offer. She pours a small glass and places the bottle below the counter. "It's the strongest turian brandy we have," she says, placing the glass on the counter. "Um, anything else?"
Sioria shakes her head, taking the glass, and downing it. "Thanks," she says before taking a deep breath and finally relaxing. "Thank you."
Va'ynna smiles slightly. "You're welcome," she says, before fidgeting a bit. "So..., um, you're with the militia?"
Sioria chuckles and shakes her head, definitely more relaxed now than before. "No. Not at all." she says, sounding rather amused. "Private security. Criminal hunter. Stuff like that."
Va'ynna glances around to see if anyone is signaling for her, but upon seeing none, she looks back at her. "Oh," she says. "Redrock Agency, then?"
Sioria shakes her head and taps the symbol on her shoulder. It's an angry black bull's head on a white circle background and a black outline. "Tauros Security Solutions."
Va'ynna narrows her eyes at first as she tries to recall, but a sheepish look follows soon after. "I... don't think I've heard of them," she says. "You're... criminal hunters?"
Sioria winces just a little as she taps the bar with her empty drink. "I'm gonna need another drink." She says before sitting back. "We're new around here. Cleaning up the streets to make a name for ourselves. Bring criminals to their knees."
Va'ynna picks up the bottle again and pours her glass. "I shouldn't speak for how... safe this town is. I'm not... often outside."
Sioria picks up her glass but instead of downing it she just takes a sip. "That's why we're here." she says, putting down her glass. "We take out criminals, show our efficiency, we get hired. Done and dusted." The turian stretches out and smiles at the satisfying pops from her joints. "Been a long day of busting heads. Hopefully somebody noticed."
Va'ynna seems thoughtful. "I... uh, hope so too," she says. "Maybe I'll feel safe enough outside someday." A small smile follows.
Sioria smiles and nods. "Some day soon. I'll make sure of it." she says and offers Va'ynna her hand. "Name's Sioria." she says.
Va'ynna looks at the hand, seeming a little hesitant, but extends her own to take it with a rather weak grip. "I'm Va'ynna," she says. "It's... nice to meet you, Sioria."
Sioria can sense her hesitation and is sure to not grip her hand too tightly. "Nice to meet you, Va'ynna." she says with a smirk. "So, what're you doing in a place in the ass-end of nowhere?" she asks, referring to the town.
Va'ynna looks away, hiding her thinking-time by seeing if anyone else is signaling for her, before turning back to the turian. "I..., uh, I wanted to see the galaxy," she says, not looking to comfortable with the topic. "Like most asari my age."
Sioria chuckles, sipping her drink, looking highly amused. "And you chose Aite." She says with a smirk. "Couldn't go to The Citadel or something?"
Va'ynna frowns, seemingly less comfortable at the questioning. "The Citadel.... It's expensive to live there," she says in a lowered voice.
Sioria nods, deciding to cut the girl a break. "Mhm... well, you could have made a worse decision." she says, sitting back again. "And it can only get better, y'know?"
Va'ynna nods. "The... last time I was in danger was right here," she says, "so I'm not sure. I've heard about worse places to go to, like Omega."
Sioria smirks and nods. "I've heard Omega is a law-less Varren hole. A place for scum and villainy." she sips her drink and chuckles. "I'd love to go there with my squad. Bust heads left and right until we mop the station clear." She sets down her drink and laughs. "Wishful thinking, I guess."
Va'ynna raises an eyebrow. "I don't know much about it," she says. "I had... no reason to go there. I thought this... city was... a fair compromize." She fidgets a bit as she speaks.
Sioria nods, looking Va'ynna over. "You alright?" she asks before taking another sip from her drink.
Va'ynna nods. "Yeah," she says. "Just... tired." She takes a step to the side and pours a glass of water for herself, taking a sip of it.
Sioria rings her finger around the rim of her glass as she watches the asari. "When do you get off?" she asks before picking up her glass and taking a sip.
One to two hours before midnight, but I'll have a break soon, before I work in the kitchen later today.
Va'ynna takes another sip of her glass. "I usually have most of the afternoon off, but Miss D'Inea has been busy lately."
Sioria shakes her head. "Nah, I probably gotta move out soon." she says, resting her hand on her helmet. "Two hour break, sounds pretty good to me." she says with a chuckle. "Who covers while you're on break?"
Va'ynna glances around once more, and makes her way over to pour a beer for a human customer asking for another, before making her way back to the turian. "Miss D'Inea," she says. "She's the owner."
Sioria nods, watching the other patrons. "Sounds like a smooth operation." she says with a smirk. "so you said there was trouble down here a while ago, right?" she asks, turning back to the asari. "Well, I like this place, and for a small fee, we can run security for you. Don't need to answer now, just think about it."
Va'ynna looks a little thoughtful. "Um, I'm... I can't decide that," she says. "And we already have one from Redrock Agency working here."
Sioria chuckles and clicks her fingers. "Damn. Probably not best to mix with the competition." she says, lightheartedly. "Ah well, can't blame a gal for trying, eh?" She stretches again and lets out a long, relaxed sigh. "Still, doesn't mean I won't be coming back."
Va'ynna smiles slightly. "I'm glad... to hear that," she says. "D'Inea approached them after... what happened here, because some of their people interfered; on their own initiative."
Sioria nods and smiles back. "Sounds like a good bunch. Still competition though." She chuckles and lightly pets her helmet. "Haven't had any reason to clash with them, and I hope I never do. Not fun going to war with other security groups."
Va'ynna nods in agreement. "They are good people," she says with a small smile. "Some of them are staying upstairs... so, you'll probably meet one or two of them if you come here often."
Sioria smirks and nods with a light hearted chuckle. "I guess I'll end up doing inter-company relations at some point then. Make important allies, with my higher-ups permission." She narrows her eyes and taps her chin in thought. "Actually, that's not a seriously bad idea..."
Va'ynna nods, again. "Just... don't pry about their last job," she says. "It's a bad idea,... even if they do tell you about it."
Sioria chuckles and nods, understandingly. "As curious as you get, its still a really bad idea. Thankfully, none of my jobs so far have gone completely south. Only minor casualties, but we've been lucky. We're all prepared for when our luck runs out." She looks around the bar and sighs. "Sometimes I wish I knew what life would be like without the high risk of my job. I mean, here there's not much risk of getting killed now, is there?"
Sioria 's omnitool beeps and Sioria looks down at it with a frown. "Well shit..." she mutters, then looks at Va'ynna. "Hold that thought, Va'Ynna, I gotta go. Something's come up that needs my urgent attention, can't give details." She places credits on the bar, a little more than what she needed to pay her bill. "That should cover it. Keep the change." She slips her helmet back on and quickly heads for the door. "Talk to you later!"
Va'ynna looks thoughtful, but before she's able to give her answer, she's interrupted by the turian. She takes the credits with a smile, "Thank you. I'll see you again." She remains behind the bar for the time being as it's still a while until her break.
