#Miner'sRespite – August 3, 2014

Zaan nodded and moved towards the bar, looking at the man or woman behind it and then up and down along its surface. "Now, about that stutter."

Shyva'Nahl slowly walks in behind her and takes a seat. "U-Um... w-what about it?"

Aylena is currently tending the bar, given how Va'ynna's got a few days to recover from the excitement. She is currently serving another patron.

Zaan'Drassi eyed the supposed asari before facing Shyva again. "It's curious, is all," the woman admitted. "That's not any condition or disease I've ever heard of. The side effects of some, maybe. Has there ever been a time in hour life when it's gone away? Under stress? Without stress? Contentment?"

Shyva'Nahl shakes her head. "N-not really..." she mumbles. "I've h-had it f-for as long a-as I can r-remember..."

"Yes, you've said that." She sighed and leaned forwards, drumming two fingers along the bar in a bored way. "I can see we aren't getting very far with this. I should probably get to medicines and scalpels."

Aylena places a glass of beer before an asari patron before making her way over to the pair of quarians. "Hello, Miss Nahl," she says. "How are you feeling today?"

Shyva'Nahl blinks and shakes her head. "P-Please d-don't..." she mumbles. "I'm f-fine, r-really... j-just scared and n-nervous..."

Shyva'Nahl looks at Aylena with a nice smile. "O-Oh, h-hello Aylena. Um... n-not v-very good t-today..."

Zaan'Drassi perked a brow and looked between the two women. Not much of a social butterfly, she kept silent and decided to listen for now, straightening in her seat a little and looking up and down the place.

Aylena frowns. "That's not good," she says. "So, anything I can get you and your friend?"

"I'm fine, for now," she mentioned, glancing back at the asari. After a moment of thought, and with another glance back at Shyva, the doctor spoke up again, curious about something else this time. "The rooms here -- her room, specifically. How much do they cost?"

Shyva'Nahl blinks and looks at Zaan, confusedly.

Aylena ponders for a moment. "Most of our rooms are 200 credits a night, including hers," she says. "Or 900 for five nights."

"Well, that's rather pricey, isn't it?" she asked, looking back at Shyva. "That was your first mistake. Should've found cheaper renovations." A sigh, and she pulled up her omnitool with a slow nod. "I'll pay for three more of her nights, then. We'll make it a full week." Well, one had to suspect that a doctor's salary was more generous than an unemployed quarian's. "And before you ask why, I'll just answer with 'why not.'"

Shyva'Nahl blinks and tilts her head. "...y-you're... p-paying f-for me to stay h-here longer?" she asks, then tilts her head the other way. "s-seriously?"

Aylena nods, and types on the terminal. "Seven days, that'll be 1,300 credits," she says, seding a payment request. "That is market price for this region, I assure you."

"Yes, you asari are always so assuring," she mumbled, paying with her omnitool and dismissing the woman with her hand. Well, they had a habit of making traveling quarians indentured servants, or, they did on their homeworlds, at least. The whole galaxy didn't like her? Fine. But she didn't have to like the rest of the galaxy. "I feel as if I've answered that question already." A warm chuckle, which seemed odd from her. "Yes. We all need a little help. Especially on pilgrimage."

Shyva'Nahl slumps a little, looking at the bar top. Not many people would show her this sort of generosity. "I... w-wow..." she mumbles before looking at Zaan`Drassi, then hugging her tight. "T-Thank y-you! A-Again!"

"Er--mmph," the doctor said with some discomfort, though she reluctantly returned the gesture before clearing her throat and pulling away. "Yes, well, just make sure to do something productive with yourself. Consider it an investment. You have the week." She paused. "... Though if you need any help, I suppose it would only make sense to exchange information."

Shyva'Nahl sits back in her chair with a giddy smile. It'd turned from a seriously shitty shitty day to an okay one. "I'll d-do my b-best..." she mumbles, then tilts her head. "U-Um, w-what do you m-mean by information?"

Aylena nods as she sees the payment clear, chuckling at her muttering. "Thank you," she says. "I'll make sure to find time for a job interview before that time runs out, if you're still interested."

Shyva'Nahl nods at Aylena. "Y-Yes please, t-that would be g-great."

"You most certainly will," she answered, bringing up her omnitool again. "You know -- information. A way to keep in touch. To see each other again." A look between the two, her brow raised. "A position here, then? I wouldn't tend the bar. That stutter won't do you any favors." She cleared her throat. "... If I'm sounding rude, I'm not trying to be."

Shyva'Nahl shakes her head. "N-No, n-not the bar... Keelah, n-no..." she mumbles, looking from her hands to Zaan`Drassi. "I t-think its a c-cleaning position. I t-think." she looks at Aylena for comformation before opening her omnitool, ready to send Zaan`Drassi her details. "I... w-won't be p-put on a-any mailing lists, w-will I?" she asks, trying for a bit of humour.

"Cleaning?" she asked, sounding repulsed. "Keelah, you can do better than that -- but, ah, no, I suppose -- what's that human expression? -- I suppose beggars can't be choosers." She cleared her throat and let out a single syllable of a laugh. "No. Nothing like that." She held her omnitool close to Shyva's to make the exchange. "That should do it, I think."

Shyva'Nahl sends her details over, then shakes her head. "S-seriously, c-cleaning is what I do." she says. "Its w-what I'm g-good at and w-what I enjoy."

"If wiping things down with a rag is your passion." She shrugged. Zaan got off on fixing people and cutting them open. Who was she to judge, really? "Any plans for the rest of the day?"

Aylena nods. "Cleaning primarily, yeah," she says, "but we'll see if there's more you can do around here. Other than the bar, of course."

Shyva'Nahl smiles at Aylena and smiles. "T-Thank y-you." she says. "Well... b-better thank you now at least, b-before the interview. D-don't know how that will go..." she gives a little giggle, again trying to be funny. She's not good at it. Then she turns her attention back to Zaan. "Its n-not just wiping down t-things with a r-rag. K-Killing g-germs and h-having the satisfaction of

perfectly c-clean surroundings are s-some of the best f-feelings I've felt."

Aylena chuckles. "I'm sure you'll do alirght," she says before noticing another patron signaling for her. "You're already speaking job interview language." A smirk follows before she makes her way over to the other patron, out of the quarians' earshot.

"Understandable," she admitted. "Given our peoples' history, I mean. And the struggles we face." Zaan paused, remembering the reasoning behind her exile. "I can respect that. If you need some help practicing for your interview? My days are pretty dull, to tell you the truth."

Shyva'Nahl chuckles and shakes her head. "Its n-not just that, m-my dad w-was the head of s-sanitation on the Tesleya. Its, um... i-in my blood, I g-guess." she says with a smile. "A-And, um... w-well... it c-couldn't help, r-right?"

She smirked, though there wasn't any way of seeing it. "In your blood, hm?" Zaan asked, leaning forward. "Do you mind if I take a sample?" The doctor was quiet for a moment before speaking again. "That was a joke."

Shyva'Nahl jumps back initially, then shakes her head. "It...w-wasn't a very g-good one... a-at all..." she mumbles, shaking nervously. "I, u-um... d-don't like n-needles..."

"You won't like me much, then," Zaan told her. "Don't worry. I'll do my best not to stick you with anything." She let out a mechanical sigh that came out through her helmet. "But I suppose it wasn't very funny, you're right. Would you like a lollipop, then?" For what good it would do her, with that mask in the way. But her other patients liked them.

Shyva'Nahl tilts her head. "U-Um... a lollipop?" she asks. "W-What is that?" She'd never really seen a lollipop before, or heard of one. They aren't available on her ship, not even in the medical bay.

"Ah, right," she answered. "They're human candies. It's -- nevermind. Like I told you, I'm bad with jokes."

Shyva'Nahl nods slowly. "I, u-um... w-wouldn't b-be able to e-eat one a-anyway..." she mumbles, then spots a speck of dirt on Zaan`Drassi's suit. She begins to fidget a little, seriously wanting to clean that spot.

"That's the joke." She eyed Shyva for a long moment, noticing the fidgeting. Zaan blinked. "What is it?"

Shyva'Nahl blinks and gives a little giggle. "Well... a-at least y-you tried." She then points at the spot of dirt on Zaan's suit. "Um... y-you have a b-bit of d-dirt... on your suit."

"Do I?" She looked down, and, though it was there, couldn't see it for the life of her. A look back up at Shyva. "So, what are you going to do about it?"

Shyva'Nahl looks to her side and opens a little box on the side of her belt. Out of it, she pulls a small tissue, and from another pocket a tiny squirt bottle. She sprays some onto the tissue and reaches out to get the smudge.

Zaan blinked slowly and let Shyva clean it, but she could hardly believe that the girl had gone to such great lengths just to take care of a simple smidge! "Well," she mentioned, looking back down at her now clean suit. "I do like a passionate woman. I think you'll get that job just fine."

Shyva'Nahl disposes the tissue in another small compartment before putting the bottle away. "I h-hate dirt." she says, simply. "Things s-should be clean. K-Keeps them looking n-nice and s-shiny."

"A-And t-thank you. It m-means a lot."

"Mm." She chucked. "Well, you know what they say -- find something you enjoy doing, and you'll never work a day in your life. Humans say that, at least. I work with a lot of humans." She cleared her throat. "Are you doing anything tonight?"

Shyva'Nahl chuckles and smiles. "W-Well, that m-makes sense in a way. N-Never thought I'd s-say that about h-humans, but there it is..." she then tilts her head before shaking it. "U-Um, n-no. I d-don't think so at l-least. M-Might d-draw a bit a-after dinner."

"I have some work to do today," she admitted, pulling up her tool again to check the time. "Though, if you're free, maybe dinner together? Like I said, I'd like to hear about the Flotilla."

Shyva'Nahl blinks and nods. Dinner with a new friend? sure! "O-Okay. The n-nutrient p-paste here is r-really good. If y-you let me p-pay that is, its t-the least I c-can do."

She chuckled. "I could be persuaded," Zaan allowed, deciding to humor Shyva if nothing else. "What time works for you? Should I meet you here?"

Shyva'Nahl shrugs. "A-Any time. I'll b-be around." she says with a smile. "I d-do live here, y'know..."

"True -- and true." She smirked and closed her omnitool again. "It's a date, then? Or..." Zaan paused again, trailing off. Maybe that was a little forward.

Shyva'Nahl blinks... blink blinks. "D-Date...?" she asks, almost in a whisper. "U-Um... u-ur...um..." she looks away, sheepishly as she rubs the back of her head. "U-Uhm... I-I've n-never been asked o-out b-before..."

"There's a first time for everything." She paused. "Also a human expression." Zaan should probably start using quarian expression more. The woman cleared her throat. "That was a little forward, I know. If the offer still stands, though--?"

Shyva'Nahl looks back at Zaan and looks her over. "I o-owe you m-my life." she says, but then smiles. "I'd, um... I'd by l-lying if I s-said I wasn't c-curious..." she mumbles, stroking her shawl. "W-Why m-me though?" she asks.

"I don't see any other quarians around here," she answered, glancing about for emphasis. "And the stutter is... cute."

Shyva'Nahl tilts her head. "N-Not into aliens t-then, I take it?" she asks, then blushes. "S-Says the person t-trying t-to diagnose it..."

Aylena moves over to stand around the middle of the bar, typing away at one of the terminals. She is now within earshot of the pair of quarians, however.

"Perhaps," she admitted, leaning forwards on the bar and peering at Shyva. "Give me a chance, at least."

Shyva'Nahl takes another moment to think about it, then nods. "O-Okay. Its a d-date then." she says with a light giggle. "T-This is c-certainly n-new to me..."

"We should meet in your room, then," she decided. "Or have drinks out here. I'm not too big on the flashy places. We couldn't get in, if we wanted to." Zaan stood, unsure if she could hug Shyva before running off again. "I'll see you... ah, well, I'll see you tonight?" She sounded a little awkward about it, too. Out of practice, maybe.

Shyva'Nahl nods at the bar. "D-Drinks d-down here s-sounds good." she says before standing up and hugging the other Quarian. "I'll s-see y-you later." she says with a smile. "I'm... l-looking forward t-to it." she actually does sound rather excited. She can't wait to tell Ehanis!

There's another awkward moment, and Zaan returned the hug much more sincerely this time. "Tonight, then." With a nod, she pulled back and stuffed her hands in to the pockets of her makeshift coat, looking back at the asari for a second before facing Shyva again. Finally, she made her way out -- off to do quarian doctor things, maybe.

Shyva'Nahl watches her go with a smile, then looks at Aylena. "Well... t-that was d-different."

Aylena glances at the parting quarian while making her way over to Shyva. "Not unexpected," she says with a small smile. "Your kind do seem to watch each other's back out in the galaxy."

Shyva'Nahl nods slowly. "Y-Yeah, but I mean t-the asking m-me out bit..." she mumbles. "T-That's n-never happened to me before."

Aylena smiles, looking a little thoughtful. "Maybe it's a thing you pick up from being out of your home... fleet," she guesses. "It's part of being young, so enjoy it while it lasts." A chuckle follows.

Shyva'Nahl smiles widely. "Y-You think s-so? I g-guess I wasn't e-expecting to a-actually find someone out here who c-cares about me..." she hums. "W-Well, haven't really done a-anything with Z-Zaan yet. Its anyone's g-guess, I guess."

Aylena nods, but another patron signals for her before she can respond properly. She makes her way over to the patron, who starts telling her order.

Shyva'Nahl watches Aylena leave, then checks her omnitool. She decides to go draw for a bit before her date. The quarian waves at Aylena before heading upstairs.

Aylena returns the quarian's wave while looking for th bottles for the order.
