Va'ynna is currently working at the bar this evening, although the patronage is still rather low as food service has been delayed for a bit. She's in a dark-red dress. She is currently not occupied.

Mavus walks down the stairs, wearing a dark blue casual attire with a red trim. He walks over to the bar and leans against it, giving the turian equivalent of a smile. "Hi," he says. "Is, uh, is Aylena about?"

Va'ynna tilts her head. "She's... in her office," she says. "Is she... expecting you?"

Mavus nods. "I believe so," he says. "I'm Mavus, hopefully the new bartender."

Va'ynna nods, a small smile creeping up. "Oh, that's... you?" she says, gesturing towards the door to the back. "She's... through that door; and the door at the end of the corridor to the left."

Mavus smiles and nods. "Thanks," he says and he follows the directions. He quickly reaches the door, rapping his knuckle against it.

Jason slowly makes his way down the stairs, guiding his remaining hand across the handrail as he grips the neck of a bottle tightly between his thumb and index finger. He's wearing jeans and a white short sleeved t-shirt with the right sleeve crudely fastened shut by some staples or something. The thick stubble on his face indicates that he hasn't shaved since his return. He keeps

his head low as he reaches the bottom of the stairs and makes his way over to the bar. Once he plops onto a random stool, he takes a swig from his bottle and sets it atop the counter haphazardly, causing it to tip over and roll across to the other side. Luckily, it was empty.

Va'ynna walks over to meet Jason, and grabs the bottle before it rolls off the countertop. "Hey," she says, placing the bottle upright on the counter. "How... are you?"

Aylena opens the door after a few seconds. Once she sees the turian, she extends a hand for a handshake. "I hope this isn't too late for you," she says.

The room it leads to is not an office, completely. It has a kitchen stretching along the wall with the door they entered through, towards the corner to the left. There is also a dining table and a couch-group to the left. There is a closed door along the wall to the right, and further down is an L-shaped desk with a terminal atop it. There is a chair on the other side of the office desk facing the door.

Mavus shakes Aylena's hand firmly, shaking his head at her question. "Not at all," he says. He releases the hand and observes the room, waiting until he is offered to step inside.

Jason shakes his head rather than answer the question and stares past Va'ynna. "Rum and cola..." he says.

Aylena takes a step back, gesturing to the chair before the desk. "Please sit down," she says and makes her way to the other side of it to take her seat.

Va'ynna tilts her head for a moment before nodding and moving off to get the bottles she needs to serve the order. She returns with them and finds a glass, which she fills with ice. "Are... you sure you haven't... had enough?" she asks, but pours the glass anyway and places it on the counter before him.

Jason glares at the glass for a moment as he chews on his bottom lip, seemingly considering the question. After a few moments pass, he reaches out and snatches it up with a shake of his head. "Not nearly enough." he sighs.

Mavus nods politely and follows Aylena in. He sits down and folds his hands in his lap, looking around the room again. "Nice place," he says.

Va'ynna frowns. "You... shouldn't be... drinking, though," she says. "Don't you... have important things to do?"

Aylena smiles slightly. "Thanks," she says. "So, to start this off, how would you describe your previous places of employ, and the clientele there?"

Jason gives a shrug, tilting his glass a bit too much as he does which causes some of his drink to spill over the side. "Can barely tie my own fucking boots right now. What-... 'important business' do I need to do? Redrock shit?" he chuckles and glances towards the door, "Our building is gone. Half our employees are dead or-... or fucked up. No. I'm handling all the important shit I

need to handle right now." He raises his glass in a bit of a toast to punctuate his point before taking a large swig and grimacing.

Va'ynna nods. "Oh... I.... Sorry," she says. "Do you... have someone else... to handle that, then?"

Jason gives a lopsided smirk and just shrugs again. "Handle what? What's there to handle? We're just-..." he sighs loudly, "...drifting around aimlessly." He holds his glass by the base with his thumb and middle finger, lifting it across his field of vision from left to right, presumably attempting to pantomime 'drifting aimlessly'.

Well, my previous places of employ varied from the smaller bars in the Wards of the Citadel, to clubs such as Flux, even though that was very brief and even a restaurant. So I've dealt with a wide range of patrons appropriate to these locations, which varied from rough to upper class cetera etcetera.

Va'ynna looks thoughtful for a moment. "Remember... when you offered... me a job there?" she asks. "If... I had... taken it, this isn't... what I would want to hear... from my employer."

Jason wrinkles up his nose and gives an exaggerated nod. "You're absolutely right, V. Good thing you didn't take that job, right?" he takes another swig of his drink, "You made the right decision." he nods.

Aylena nods. "Good," she says. "I admit I was a little worried you would only have experience serving a turian clientele save for a few tourists. You won't have much in terms of upper class coming here, but entitled customers exist among all classes of income." She takes out a datapad from a drawer and places it on the desk. "This datapad has everything you need to know, from drinks, food to operating the terminals out

front. I recommend you start with the latter, even if the VI does make it easy."

Va'ynna frowns. "But... what about... your people?"

Mavus takes the datapad and quickly skims through it, nodding. "Easy enough," he says.

Jason stares at the asari for a moment. "Vasquez-..." he begins, but abruptly stops and takes a deep breath through his nose, as if merely saying her name is difficult at the moment. He sets his glass down and reaches up to rub at his eyes. "...I'll find her. But not like this." he says, passing a glance towards where his arm once was, "My team is hurt. They need to rest-... I need

to rest. I-..." he sighs and shakes his head, "I don't know, V. Not like this..."

Aylena leans back in her seat a little. "What say you to working for the next three days, starting tomorrow?" she says. "Evening shifts, for two-hundred per day. Then we can take it from there and negotiate a formal contract. That'll give you time to look for a place to live, and I get to see how well you handle the job. Does it sound fair?"

Va'ynna places her hand flat on the barcounter. "You should... talk to them," she says. "Not... drink alcohol. That doesn't... help."

Doesn't need to help. Just needs to-... keep my mind busy....

Mavus looks up and nods, grinning faintly. "Fair," he agrees.

Jason sighs and blinks a few times before forcing a smile. "How about you get me a six-pack for the road?" he asks before tipping back what's left of his drink and slugging it.

Aylena gives a small smile. "Then we have an agreement for now," she says. "Please take the datapad with you, and read it before you show up to work tomorrow."

Va'ynna nods. "I... think we have some out in the back," she says, typing on the nearest terminal. "We do. Shall I put it on your tab?"

Jason smirks and gives a nod as he stands from his stool and follows her over to the terminal. "You're an angel, V." he says, planting a kiss on the palm of his hand and reaching across the counter to pat her on the cheek with it, "I'll pay my tab at the end of the week... Promise."

Mavus nods. "No problem," he says. "I've been looking for some reading material anyway." He chuckles. "Anything else I should know?"

Va'ynna lets him pat her cheek, moving up a hand to cover her mouth as she stifles a giggle. "I'll... be right back," she says before walking over to the door in the back and through it.

Jason remains at the counter, leaning against it a bit unsteadily as he glances around the room.

Aylena nods. "Redrock Agency provides our security, and their guy's office is on the other end of the corridor. Notify him if you see anything security should tend to. There's no discounts that's not in our system, so don't let anyone tell you otherwise. Atana, who you met on your way here I'm sure, works in the kitchen. Shyva'Nahl, a quarian, does housekeeping and cleaning."

Va'ynna returns a moment later with a six pack of cans roughly a pint in volume. It's a light beer of the most ordered brewer. She places it on the counter. "Here," she says.

A few people glances at Jason, especially those that are impatiently waiting for the barkeep to be done talking with him -- some of which may have unsuccessfuly tried to get her attention during their conversation.

Mavus clicks his mandibles and looks at Aylena. "A quarian?"

Jason scoops the six pack up and gives Va'ynna a wink. "Thanks, V." he says, "Gonna head down to the office." he gives a nod towards the door. "You should come check it out. Thing is a big heap of rubble. But maaaaaan... The view is amazing." he whistles.

Va'ynna nods. "I... would," she says, "but after... D'Inea returns out here, I'm... working in the kitchen until late. Maybe if... you're still there."

Jason nods a couple times to himself. "Tired of being cooped up in that room. I'm sure I will be." he says before setting off towards the door. Once he's about half way to the exit, he turns back to face the asari, now walking backwards towards the door. "Bring more beer!" he shouts, nearly tripping backwards before catching onto the edge of the table. He lets out a loud chuckle, turns

back around and proceeds on his way.

Yes. She's good at her job, and I haven't had a single complaint that could be attributed to her.

Hmm.

Va'ynna smiles faintly, before looking a little unsure. "I'll send a message," she says, but it's unlikely he'll hear it because Va'ynna isn't a particularly loud asari. She then walks over to a customer that's signalling for her attention.

Mavus keeps any further comment to himself, instead nodding. "Anything else?"

Aylena ponders it for a moment. "No," she says. "Unless you have any more questions of your own, of course."

Mavus shakes his head after a moment. "No, not for now," he says. "Thank you for the opportunity."

Aylena nods. "Thanks for showing up," she says. "I won't keep you any longer, then."

Mavus nods his thanks and stands. "Enjoy the rest of your evening," he says before turning and heading out the room and back towards his own accommodation.

You too.
