Mavus walks down the staircase, adjusting his outfit as he moves towards the bar with an air of confidence skirting on the edge of arrogance.

Va'ynna is standing behind the bar this early morning, shortly after Renala returned from work. Unsurprisingly, there are not many patrons about. The asari is wearing a dark-green dress.

Mavus raps his knuckles on the counter, giving Va'ynna the turian equivalent of a grin. "Morning," he says.

Va'ynna walks over to the turian. "Hey," she says. "How... are you?"

Mavus gives a slight incline of his head to her. "I'm alright," he says in response. "How're you doing? Stuck on the morning shift, I see."

Va'ynna frowns. "No, it's... not my shift," she says. "I'm supposed to be... sorting the new supplies and taking inventory, but... D'Inea hasn't shown up yet."

Mavus similarly frowns, his mandibles twitching. "That sucks," he says. "Want me to cover while you do the admin?"

Va'ynna seems a bit thoughtful for a moment. "You... don't have to," she says. "I have moved... the crates to the right temperature places, so it can wait for a while."

Mavus shrugs nonchalantly. "I wouldn't mind," he says. "Besides, it'll be better to get your job done sooner rather than later, right?"

Va'ynna nods. "Alright, but... I don't know if D'Inea will pay you for that," she says. "Thanks, though."

Mavus shrugs again. "Just call it a favour owed then," he says with a smile as he makes to step behind the bar.

Va'ynna steps aside. "I... maybe," she says. "I don't... want to cover any of your... evening shifts, though."

Mavus takes Va'ynna's spot behind the bar and chuckles. "I wouldn't burden you with that!" He does a quick check of the bar as he speaks. "I'll think of something eventually. But don't worry about it for now. "

Va'ynna frowns. "I... haven't agreed to anything," she says, fidgeting with her hands. "I'll be out in the back, then. Please... tell D'Inea that I'm looking for her if you see her."

Mavus nods absentmindedly. "Uh-huh," he says. "I'll be sure to tell her."

Va'ynna nods and makes her way through the door to the back of the bar, and into the kitchen.

Mavus picks up a glass and a cloth, starting to clean the glass. A small habit of his.
