Skythix walked into the Respite without her pack this time. She was wearing a simple jacket that covered her whole upper body and similar tight black pants that covered the rest of her sans the spurs. She walked to the bar counter and sat down for the moment. "Eh... Beer for now, please. I still plan on doing things today." She said with a hint of a laugh in her voice. She wondered if

she would run into Kim or Jason again while she was here.

Mavus hums quietly to himself as he stands behind the bar, polishing a shot glass meticulously. He's wearing a casual blue outfit with a red trim to it. He peers up at the woman as she sits down, nodding once to her as he places the glass down. "No problem," the turian says. "Any preference?"

Va'ynna is still at the bar, but she's typing on one of the terminals; most likely the nth attempt to reach her employer.

Skythix had been looking off to the side when she ordered without paying too much attention to the bartender. She turned her head in surprise at the sound of a flanging voice. "Oh!" She started, blinking a few times. "A handsome bartender! No offense, Va'ynna." She quickly said. "But uh... Do you have that Parthian Patch? It's a sweet beer from my home planet." She said, leaning against

the counter with a gentle pur.

Mavus chuckles, his mandibles clicking in thought at her request

Parthian Patch. Now there's something I haven't served for awhile. Hold on.

Mavus wanders over to the back and runs a talon over the various beverages available, muttering the name of the beer to himself.

Renala makes her way downstairs. She's a sky-blue matron in a top covered by a halfway unzipped brown leather jacket, and nondescript dark-blue pants. She looks around thoughtfully before walking over to the bar, taking a second seat on the turian woman's left.

Mavus tuts in annoyance, glancing over his shoulder at his patron with an apologetic look. "Sorry, we don't have it here." He looks back at the shelves and tuts again, placing a hand on his waist. "Come to think of it, we don't have much of anything for turians...".

Skythix groaned and rolled her eyes. "Right." Of course they don't. Why would the human colony have her favorite beer from a remote turian colony? "I guess anything light on the ABV that won't kill me will suffice." She looked to her side at the asari that sat next to her, flickering her mandibles for a moment. "Hey there." She said, mostly just as courtesy.

Mavus snatches a bottle off the shelf and turns, popping the cap off. "Glass or bottle?" He asks. He nods to the asari as Skythix speaks, addressing her. "And what can I get for you?"

Renala glances at the turian, and nods. "Evening," she says, sounding a little tired, then looks at the bartender. "Just give me whatever beer you have on tap," she says, "And a sandwich if you have one still have any left."

Skythix waved her hand towards a glass. "Glass, of course!" She said condescendingly as if there was any other choice. "It's just not the same in a bottle." At the mention of a sandwich, she could feel a familiar twinge of hunger in her belly. She put a hand to her stomache and suddenly wished she had eaten earlier. "Eh, if you wouldn't happen to have anything for me either, I'd appreciate

it." She hated having to ration her money so much.

Mavus nodded at the duo, thought his face was apologetic. "Sorry, kitchen's closed," he says as he pours the beer into a pint glass. He glances at Sky, giving her a toothy grin. "Two disappointing moments in a row for you, eh?" He chuckles as he places the glass in front of her. "That'll be ten credits, please."

Renala | "Thank you," she says, and digs a chit out of a pocket on her jacket and puts it on the counter. "Technical issues, I take it?" she asys, glancing towards the asari standing behind the counter, but the question is directed at the turian.

Skythix moaned under her breath and leaned against the bar counter by her elbows with her head in her hands. "Just my luck." she muttered, clearly not as joyous as the other turian was. She fished out a credit chit from her pocket and handed it over to the turian. Unbeknownst to her, it only contained eight credits. "You could say that." She said, leaning on her cheek now. "Been trying

to ration my money lately so I don't screw myself over my the month's end."

Mavus readies a beer for the asari, tilting the glass to minimise froth. "Yup," he says with a nod, placing the glass in front of the asari and taking the chit, deducting the payment from it. "Technical issues are the bane of my existence, I swear," he chuckles as he hands the chit back. ->

Mavus turns to the female turian and takes the chit from her, giving her a sympathetic look. "New to Aite?" He asks as he makes to deduct the money from the chit. He narrows his eyes as a box popped onto screen, declining the chit. He glanced between Sky and the terminal, before quickly deducting the fee from his own chit discreetly.

Va'ynna looks up at the turian as they speak about the kitchen closing. She raises an eyebrow at the turian's explanation, but it's soon replaced by realization, and she looks back at the monitor.

Mavus | 'No need to ruin the girl's evening anymore', he thought to himself as he handed her chit back with a small smile.

Skythix took the credit chit back with a thank you before stuffing it back into her pokcet. "Yeah. Only a week now I've been planet side. Finished my last tour a month ago and... Well, I guess I wanted to try something new..?" It didn't sound like even she believed her own excuse. "In between jobs and all I have to show for it is a hopeful application and two bottles of turian brandy."

Mavus picked up the cloth and started absentmindedly wiping the bar down, nodding as he listened. "Better than one bottle of brandy, eh?" He gives her a relaxed smile, idly gesturing with a talon. "Besides, you'll find something, easy-like

Mavus | -. You walk like with a certain air about you. I bet my left mandible you commanded during your service. Squad leader?"

Renala chuckles, but doesn't give a verbal response. She looks at the nearest security camera high up on the wall, and gives it a small wave.

Skythix was staring at the glass of beer with a half-lidded look, tapping the side of the glass with a talon. She perked up at the mention of her service, turning to look at the bartender. "Yeah, I did. Amongst many other things, too. Guess you get to keep the mandible for now." She huffed out a quick laugh before looking at the asari. She looked at the ceiling where she was waving.

"What are you doing?" She asked, narrowing her eyes. Is that a camera? She imagined there would be some all over the place but couldn't guess who'd be watching for the asari to be waving at.

Mavus lets out a quiet chuckle, casting a side on glance at the camera. He remains quiet, simply continuing his cleaning.

Renala shrugs. "Just checking if Steve's at work," she says. "I'm not calling security on you, if that's what you're thinking." She doesn't sound very serious.

Skythix tilted her head to the side in confusion. Who's Steve? "Er, no I didn't think that. Besides, I haven't done anything wrong yet anyway. I've only just got here. You gotta give me time for something like that." She deadpanned. She then turned to the turian. "So what's a handsome guy like you doing on a human colony like this?"

Mavus peers up, shrugging slightly. "Trying to avoid the scores of fawning women after me," he jokes. "But in all seriousness, I like to travel. Y'know, see the galaxy and all that. Even backwaters like this have their stories to tell, their secrets to unlock. I also just happen to be good at bartending too."

And everyone likes a good bartender.

Renala takes a long sip of her beer, passively listening in on their conversation.

Skythix gave the bartender a bored look. "Uh huh." she said with a half smirk. "I've seen a lot of the galaxy. Most of the time it was behind a monitor of through the sites of a MAC or down a gun barrel though. I gotta say, a lot of it is pretty crap." She finally picked up the beer that was poured for her a minute ago and drank from it until half was gone, letting out a loud sigh. "And

what exactly makes a bartender 'good'?" She air quoted with one hand.

Mavus 's mandibles twitch slightly. "Well, it depends," he says. "I can make various mixtures from a wide variety of alcoholic drinks, I can alter between bartender and bouncer when necessary... And sometimes, people just need a bartender who knows how to handle himself in a scrap." He pauses for a minute as he eyes Sky. "Or one who can be discrete, when needs be."

Mavus he shrugs again. "Like I said, it depends really. And in regards to traveling, all you're ever going to see is crap in the military. It's not like the brass are going to send you to a paradise world to lay back and oogle the locals."

Skythix huffed to herself. "I can mix drinks, too. And you being a bouncer?" She looked him up and down and hummed. "Mmm... Maybe. Can't say I want my bartender dirtying himself too much though." She narrowed her eyes at his pause and following words. "Indeed." She simply answered suspiciously. Too many thoughts at the meaning for that one. She then picked up her beer and shrugged her

shoulders as well. "I got my fair share of shore leave at different places. Most of it was spent inside hotels relaxing and blowing off steam though..." Her words trailed off as she drank more of her beer.

Mavus snorts, folding his arms at her former statement. "Anyone can mix any random drinks," he states. "But what I do is almost artistic!" He boasts proudly. "Shore leave at a few hotels is hardly experiencing what the galaxy has to offer." He glances at her glass. "Refill?"

Va'ynna looks up at the turian, looking quite amused as she tries to stifle laughter.

Mavus shoots a warning look at Va'ynna out the corner of his eye.

Renala chuckles. "I don't think you want to have all the Terminus systems has to offer," she says.

Va'ynna quickly retracts her gaze back to the terminal, her cheeks a little bit more purple.

Mavus looks at Renala and cools down a bit, breathing out a short laugh. "A fair point," he admits. "Sorry. I got a little overly defensive there," he says to the trio.

Skythix snorted a laugh at the man's excentrics. "Yeah it's real art, huh? I bet it paints pretty pictures when people vomit it up later, too." She laughed, mostly at her own joke. She finished off her beer and pushed it towards him. "I don't think it's in budget to refill. So, no." She then turned to the asari. "Ugh, of course not. We rarely ever went planet side in the terminus, mostly

for emergency repairs or refuels. Otherwise we were always on the ship for a very... very long time."

Mavus nods and takes the glass to clean. He pauses and walks over to Va'ynna, tapping a talon atop her terminal. "Uh, sorry," he says again, referring to his overly hostile glare. He smiles once and takes the glass back to clean, carrying on like nothing happened.

Renala shrugs. "That's not to say it's all terrible," she says. "I wouldn't come back here if it was." She takes a long sip of her beer.

Va'ynna looks up at the turian. "It's... uh, nothing wrong," she speaks in a hushed tone. "I'm... just worried about... what's going on."

Mavus turns his head slightly from the glass, raising his brow plates questionably. "Elaborate?" He says in an equally hushed tone.

Va'ynna looks back at the terminal. There's currently a call being placed, but it's about to time out. "D'Inea is still gone," she whispers.

Mavus carries on about his business, barely glancing over his shoulder. "No contact?" He asks in a whisper. "No nothing?"

Skythix looked suspiciously over at the two whispering to each other. It was probably none of her business, probably just things about the Inn. "True. I guess my sense of adventure and lack of fear for self harm brought me out here."

Va'ynna just nods in response to that.

Mavus places the glass back under the counter and leans against the bar, idly tapping his talons against its surface. "Anyone else know? Better question, anyone looking?" He asks quietly.

Renala chuckles. "I got tired of life at home once I was old enough," she says. "Not saying it was a good decision, but I'm still kicking three hundred years later."

Va'ynna shakes her head. "Only... Victoria. I haven't... told Briggs," she whispers.

Mavus nods slowly. "Planning on telling anyone else?" He whispers back.

Skythix looked impressed at the asari. "Not bad. I guess that kinda makes you as old as me in my years." She said with a small laugh. She eyed suspiciously back over at the two whispering to each other. "Hey! Everything alright over there?" she asked the turian.

Mavus glances over his shoulder and gives the female turian a disarming smile, somehow amplified by the orange stripe down the centre of his face. "Yeah, we're good," he says. "Just clearing up on some things. I'm new to this bar, see, so she's just giving me some pointers."

Skythix had been given that look enough times to know that he was lying or at least stretching the truth. A new bartender already bragging about his so called craft? He's either lying to her or incredibly cocky. Both could still be true however... "Of course." She was careful to keep her face neutral as she continued to stare him down.

Mavus continues to stare back evenly. "Is there a problem?" He asks, now fully turning to her and leaning against the counter, his voice friendly enough.

Va'ynna nods. "I.... Briggs should know, and Jason," she murmurs.

Renala glances at the bartenders, then takes another sip. "If we factor in lifespan, I suppose so."

Skythix shook her head once. "Not on my end." She said to the turian. For the asari she simply offered spread mandibles in a smile.

Mavus nods once. "Good to hear," he says, looking over at Va'ynna and nodding. "Alright, sounds good. I'll get on that after my shift."

Skythix | "Well, hopefully those Red Rock people get back to me on that application soon. I hate living like this." she said, staring at where her empty glass used to be, wishing it was back and filled up.

Va'ynna raises an eyebrow, but quickly realizes he's not talking to her anymore. "Thanks," she mutters before continuing to tap om the terminal, trying to place another call.

Renala snorts. "Talked with Wolfe?" she asks. "I wouldn't bet my life on that application if I were you. Redrock isn't doing too well."

Skythix looked confused at the asari. "What do you mean? And yeah I did. Human, male, missing an arm? Unless it's a different one armed human named Wolfe."

Renala nods. "That's him," she says. "He's a good guy, don't ge me wrong, but he doesn't always know what's best for the company in the long run."

Skythix | "I take it that means that you're a part of Red Rock too then? Maybe you can tell me what's so bad about it?" She thought she had heard bad things last time she saw them but she didn't know how severe.

Renala takes a long sip of her beer. "I am still with them," she says. "And Wolfe is no stranger to what I think about the last job."

Mavus idly goes about his business as the minutes tick by until the end of his shift

Skythix hums thoughtfully to herself. "If you say so. Tell Wolfe or Kim I want to talk to them about it will you?" She asked before standing up. "I'm going to be heading off. Wolfe should have my info."

You might as well send him a message yourself. I don't see him all that often.

Renala turns back to her glass and drinks what's left of it.

Skythix exit the Respite with a new goal in mind.
