Damien rolls his eyes, pointing back at the entrance. "Oh c'mon, the sign had a friggin' Krogan, how can you fault me for that?" He turns on his heel and makes his way to the changing room with his duffle bag. "See you in a moment."

Leah waves Damien off. "Uh huh..." she groans as she picks up some rolled up handwraps and begins to unroll them, "Or maybe you've just got a guttermind." She begins wrapping up her hands, first her right, then her left, weaving the material between her fingers. Once finished, she extends her arms out in front of her and clenches each hand into a fist, one after the other, to test it

out. Unsatisfied, she begins unraveling them a bit to loosen it up.

Damien returns after only a few minutes, changed into some knee length shorts and a white training t-shirt. Boxing tape is wrapped around his hands, slightly thicker on his cybernetic one. His physique is more noticeable in this gear and it resembles that of someone who used to train vigorously when he was younger.

Leah has taken the time to finish wrapping up her hands and remove her jacket. Her boots, while not particularly suitable for sparring in, are now fully laced up. She grips her shirt from the bottom and lifts it off over her head, opting to spar in the black tanktop she was wearing beneath it. She crouches back down and grabs a pair of gloves from the box and begins tugging them on.

"You ready?" she asks, flexing her hands a few more times to get a feel for the gloves as she glances over her shoulder at the man.

Damien tilts his head as he admires the woman for a moment. As she addresses him, he nods, rolling his shoulders in preparation. "As ever," he replies, tugging on the gloves he brought with him. "You?" He asks as he clambers into the ring.

Leah grips the bottom rung of the ropes and vetically leaps up onto the apron. She then grips the top rope and, quite easily, vaults over the ropes in one fell swoop, landing just inside the ring. "Just about." she says, lifting one leg up off the ground and wrapping her hands around it to stretch out her muscles. She releases it and does the same with the other leg. She bounces in

place on the balls of her feet and throws a couple simple jabs at the air before stringing together a combo in a burst, left jab, left jab, right straight, left uppercut, and ending in a haymaker of a right hook that she puts her whole body behind and dances into a new position. She stands up straight and rolls her shoulders a bit, then her neck. "Let's do this."

Damien stretches out his neck and arms, shaking out his limbs in anticipation. "Well you're certainly limber," he mumbles as he raises his arms, balling his hands into fists-

Damien -. His knees bend slightly and his feet resting slightly apart, his left foot in front. He nods once to her, his breathing slowing to a more controlled pace than usual.

Leah steps closer to the center of the ring and returns the nod. She spreads her feet apart and hunkers down somewhat, taking up a typical boxing stance, hands held high to protect her head. "Rules?" she asks as she lowers her chin, staring up at Damien from her browline as she begins to bounce a little in place.

Damien takes a few steps forwards, roughly similar to Leah. His posture is similar to hers, though remains still in oppose to her bouncing. "Leave the groin area alone, try to not break anything... That's all I can think of. Any for you?"

Leah shakes her head. "I'll take the biotics off the table so long as you don't bite or cry. Any waterworks and we're done here." she says with a wink.

Damien chuckles, shaking his head. "Rules set then. Ready to tango?"

Leah gives a nod and steps forward. She darts low, slowly extending her left arm outwards towards him part-way a couple of times to feel out her range. She bounces backwards on the balls of her feet before stepping in with a simple right straight aimed at the man's head. It's mostly just a feeler punch without much power behind it.

Damien simply ducks behind his defence, raising his arms slightly to bolster. His brain, despite the sleep deprivation, starts analysing his foe. Leah obviously has speed and agility over him, leading to the conclusion she can just duck around him. Playing it defensively for now seems like the best course of action for now. -

Damien He steps forward in retaliation, returning the courteous jab with two of his own, quickly springing back once they have been delivered.

Leah darts under the first jab and merely pulls back out of range of the second. She smiles and straightens up outside of his range, putting up a hand and gesturing from side to side with it, as if to say "Nuh uh!" She hunkers back in and slips from left to right before pressing forward with a pair of left jabs aimed at the head and a right hook to the body. As Damien successfully

assessed, she's very quick on her feet.

Damien easily blocks the jabs, though he takes the right hook to his ribs, grunting as she strikes his weakened bones. Instead of retreating, he pushes forward with his own attack, stepping towards her and bringing his knee up in a vicious attack whilst never lowering his guard.

Leah is caught by the knee as she reels back from the body strike she landed on Damien. It gets a loud groan from her as the knee catches her in the side. However, much like Damien, it seems, she's not one to turtle up. She remains in close, bobbing and weaving her head somewhat as she prepares to slip any punches he may throw. At this range she attempts to set up an uppercut by slicing

at his jaw with a looping hook before following up with a right uppercut to the jaw.

Damien attempts to move in for a grapple before she can deliver her combo to his face. His face is set in sheer determination, the pre-fight banter all but forgotten as he focuses on his one goal, winning. If his bold move is successful, he would attempt to throw her away from him.

Leah is trapped by the grapple as her left hook goes wide and swung aside by Damien's sheer brute strength. Oddly enough, however, rather than stumbling off to the side, she instantly slaps a hand to the ground and cartwheels to the side, backsprings once, and then hurls her entire body forward in a coiled cobra punch aimed at her opponent's head.

Damien | Crack! Her fist collides with his face, crushing his nose as blood spurts. "Shit!" He stumbles back, blood dribbling down his face. "Nicely done." He wipes his arm across his face and drops into a defensive posture, an odd grin crossing his features.

Leah lets out a deep breath as the punch connects. Like a shark smelling blood, she quickly steps into him, pressing her body against his to make any further attack difficult for him as she coils her hands up behind his neck in an attempt at controlling the man's head. Should she be able to get a good grip, she attempts to jerk his head down into her knee.

Damien is grabbed, but, before she can draw his head into her knee, he pushes off the floor and makes to wrap his arms around her and tackle her to the ground, aiming to use his strength against her.

The receptionist is watching the fight intently now that it's getting interesting, and a few others do look their way every now and then.

Leah makes no attempt at struggling against the man's strength, instead she falls back into the tackle and attempts to use her agility to her advantage. She quickly mounts up, wrapping her left leg around the man's waist to keep his body close as she's tackled to her back. She keeps her hands folded together behind his neck. Once on the ground, she quickly squirms to pull her left leg

further up his back and reaches down with her right hand, grasping the toe of her boot to assist with this and attempt to keep his body pinned against her. With a loud grunt, she mutters between pants, "Hope you're having fun."

Damien growls, blood dripping down from his nose. "Time of my life," he pants. "Bloody flexible...". He raises his cybernetic and reaches up, moving to grasp her wrist and try and pry it away. At the same time, he tries to use his upper body strength and lift her from the ground.

Leah no longer needs to retain her hold on his neck... His arm is actually her real target, so she allows him to grasp her wrist with his hand and do the work for her himself. As she's lifted, it creates the space she needed to thread the needle with her other leg and drape it over the toe of the boot crossed over his back. She lets go of her toe with her hand and reaches back, placing

the palm flat against the mat as she balances herself with her legs wrapped around his neck and a trapped arm. She decides to play nice, resisting the urge to rain down some elbows on his head, and leans back heavily, hoping to pull him back to the mat and put him in a nice, comfy sleep.

Damien | "Gurk!" Damien's eyes bulge from their sockets, falling right into her trap. His free arm flails as his cybernetic strains to push back against her leg as blackness creeps at the edges of his vision. "G-gah...". No use.

Leah uses her hand against the mat to attempt to pull herself backwards across the mat and further offbalance him. Her hopes are to pull him back to his knees. Should he continue to fight, she'd give in and hammer him upside the head with an elbow, as well.

"No killing people in the ring, please," the asari reseptionist shouts, not making it clear whether she's joking.

Damien , with what little strength he has left, he balls his free hand into a fist and pummels it towards the base of her back, going on the sheer presumption that is where a fresh surgical scar would be.

Leah 's eyes widen as the pain surges through her entire body. She releases her grip with her legs and falls backwards to the mat, catching herself with her palms and handspringing back away from the man. "Well..." she says through a pained grunt, running a hand up her back now that she has a little distance from her opponent, "...at least I know you're not holding back." Not willing

to give the man a chance to catch his breath, she quickly moves in and attempts to press her assault, lashing forward with a flurry of strikes. An attempted left jab to the head. A right hook to the body. A left elbow to the jaw. A quick backstep to chop at his left shin with a right soccer kick. She weaves her head in between attacks to remain on the move. A left hook to the body. A

right hook to the body. She ends her attempted assault by leaping and rotating her body, attempting to land a spinning back kick to his chest.

Damien staggers to his feet quickly, coughing viciously as he can now freely breath again. However, his respite is quickly shattered as the woman attacks him with a vicious combo. With each strike, a grunt, a pained gasp. He blocks the blow to the jaw, but little else. As she leaps, he strikes back. -

Damien With a yell, he swings his cybernetic up in both attack and defence at her incoming leg, stepping into the attack. If successful, he would follow up with a flat palmed strike at her head.

Leah catches the punch in her side, mid air, stopping her final blow in its tracks. But it also manages to stagger her backwards and out of range of the palm strike. She backpedals a few steps and instinctively touches at her side where the blow landed, but quickly brings her arms up to guard her head in a trained engrained reflex. Given the cybernetic hand and the clean landing of

the blow, it undoubtedly had to hurt, but she doesn't seem to be showing too many signs of slowing down. "Not bad." she says between breaths, "Can see you've done this a bit." Her breathing has picked up slightly, but it's still surprisingly calm and together given the amount of exertion one would think the fight would have on someone, "Ready to pick up the pace a bit?"

Damien pants, flexing his fingers as he raises his guard. His chest heaves as he cracks his neck with a satisfying crunch. "I had a good teacher," he says. With a nod, he advances slowly and cautiously. His opponent is much more skilled than he, after all.

Leah lets her arms dangle down at her sides for a moment and she hops from one foot to the other, shaking any tension out of her arms. As Monroe begins to advance, she raises her hands once more and quickly advances on him, hoping to bait him into swinging pre-emptively. "Oh? Sounds like a story worth beating out of you." she says with a smirk as she closes the gap, preparing to launch

another assault if an opportunity to counter is given.

Damien laughs. Well, more of a single wheezy breath. With surprising dexterity, he springs forwards and feigns a jab at her, altering his stance so he is able to quickly dart out of whatever she has planned.

| At least, that's what he hopes.

Leah jerks her head back to dodge the perceived jab and tosses a quick jab of her own in response. As she does, she jolts to the side, hoping the jab masks her real intention of slamming a full-bore kick into his midsection. She pivots on her toe as she steps to his side, rotating in place as she lifts her right leg off the ground and swings it towards Monroe like a logger chopping a

tree down.

Damien raises his defence only slightly. As she jolts to the side, he tracks her movement. Slight raise. Another leg attack. He steps into her attack, lessening the impact of her kick. He grunts and throws a haymaker at her jaw, followed by an uppercut and finally a strike with his knee.

Leah manages to dip her head under the haymaker as she recoils from her kick. The uppercut catches her in the ribs, forcing her to hunker forward and right into the knee. She grabs the knee, pushing through the pain, and keeps his leg up. She cradles the back of his other thigh and attempts to pull it towards her and send him onto his back, with the hopes of mounting him if it succeeds.

Damien swears internally as he falls backwards, his brief moment of triumph dashed by her counter. The air is driven out of him as he hits the ground, gasping for breath. He still has some semblance of thought to raise his guard to protect his face, for what good it does.

Leah mounts up on her downed foe, straddling his midsection. She leans forward and reaches way back with her right hand. Her hand comes crashing down at Damien's head but, just before making contact, she stops and gives him a bright smile. She leans in and kisses the top of his forehead before letting out a deep breath, pressing both palms against his chest and pushing off of him to

jump back to her feet. Standing above him with one boot on each side of his torso, she extends her hand down towards him in an offer of assistance. "Not bad." she reiterates.

Damien pants, staring up at the woman after she kisses his forehead. He forces out a laugh, clasping her hand with his organic one, pulling himself up. "Thanks," he says between breaths.

Leah grasps the bottom of her shirt and wraps her index finger in it, using the clothe to rub away some of the blood on Damien's nose with a frown. "Sorry about that." she offers before giving a quick glance around, "You put up more of a fight than I expected!"

Damien bats her hand away with a chuckle. "Don't worry about it," he says. He rolls his cybernetic, looking down at it. "Well, this helped. Sorry about going for your spine." Her glancing around causes him to frown. "Hey, what's up?"

Leah shakes her head back and forth. "No... Nothing." she says. She reaches back with one hand to trace a finger up and down her spine as he reminds her of the slight ache throbbing throughout her back. Her frown deepens and she furrows her brow, "Hey! Yeah! That was pretty low!" she growls, "I left biotics out of it! No kicks to the French-quarters! I stacked the deck in your favor

and you still took a cheap shot!"

Damien holds up his hands, palm facing her as he starts to backpedal to the edge of the ring. "Well, I was blacking out!" He starts looking for a quick exit, no really that eager for another asswhopping.

Leah stomps towards Damien menacingly. "I just got out of surgery! Days ago! Not. Cool." As he nears the ropes, her expression slowly fades back into a smile and her shoulders begin to bounce with laughter. "Where the hell do you think you're going?"

Damien stops as he reaches the ropes. He visibly relaxes, laughing alongside her. He leans against the ropes, wiping the sweat from his brow. "Christ, I'm going to feel that for a week," he says as he rubs his neck.

Leah presses her right hand against her side as she takes a position beside him. "That makes two of us." she says with a nod towards his cybernetic arm, "That thing packs quite a punch. Literally."

Damien flexes his hand, nodding slightly. "Still feels weird though," he admits. He looks around at the eyes drawn to the fight, smiling slightly. "Thanks for this... I think it may have helped...". He says quietly. "So yeah, thanks."

Leah gives a nod, following his gaze as she leans up against the ropes. "Don't mention it. Pretty sure I needed it just as much as you did." she admits. "Besides... this place isn't half bad. Me and my pops have a little bit of land and I usually just do my daily routine there. The space is great for keeping my biotics sharp. But-..." she glances around a bit, "...yeah. I think I may

have to reconsider."

Damien claps her on the shoulder. "If you need a partner or spotter, gimme a call." He chuckles, dapping at the blood on his face. "Though, I'll keep some tissues around."

Leah reaches up and puts her hand over his, giving it a slight pat. "Sounds like a plan." she says with a small smile. "We just need to keep you out of that room of yours. Plenty of stuff to do in town."

Damien smiles. "Hey, when I get back from this mission that Wolfe has planned, fancy going out to grab some dinner sometime?" He gestures to his face, chuckling. "As much fun as this is."

Leah glances down at the mat uncomfortably and adjusts her footing before brushing some hair back behind her ear with her free hand. "What's with the planning?" she asks, "I mean, I know a place a couple blocks from here. Cheap burgers. Could just swing by there real quick if you want. We can get, like, fifteen burgers each for less than this place costed you." She keeps her gaze

towards the ground.

Skythix entered the gym, letting out a contented sigh. She was wearing her usual warm clothing but was also carring a small duffle bag over her shoulder. She had gotten used to any strange looks she might have recieved being one of the few turians to come and go but she mostly just ignored the people around her. She spotted a fighting ring where a group of people were walking away from

and saw two humans who looked bloody just after a good fight. She walked towards the ring to inspect the two. "Don't tell me I just missed a good fight." She said with a toothy grin.

Damien chuckles, though he does fall silent at her uncomfortable look. "Hey look, I'm-". He's interrupted as a third voice speaks up, looking over the ropes and down at the female turian. He smiles politely, tapping the blood on his face. "'Fraid so. Got my ass handed to me, as you can see."

Leah actually looks relieved at the interruption. She glances over at the new arrival and balances on the outer soles of her boots as she gives a sheepish shrug. "Just a little sparring between friends." she says.

Skythix widened her smile and stiffled a laugh. "I can tell. Almost looks like you were fighting over credits or something." She adjusted the bag on her back before continuing. "I just got my membership here, new to the planet and all. Name's Skythix." She then looked back and forth between the two. "Might want to get that looked at." She pointed a talon at the man's bloody nose.

Damien holds out his cybernetic hand to her for her to shake. "Name's Monroe," he says with a charming smile. "Damien Monroe. And I, uh, have had worse. I can deal with a nose bleed."

Leah glances over at Monroe and places a hand on his cheek as she leans her head back and looks over his bloody nose while he awaits his handshake. She gives him a few playful, but not exactly light, slaps on the cheek before smiling. "He'll be fine. He's probably used to getting beat up." she jokes before glancing back at the turian. "Leah." she offers with a nod, "Welcome to..." she

glances around the room before resting her eyes back on Skythix and raising her eyebrows, "...well, here."

Damien scrunches up his nose, glancing at Leah out the corner of his eyes. "Screw you, Leah," he says with a laugh.

Skythix reached out with her free hand and shook Damien's. "Nice to meet you both." She nodded to both of them. She smirked at the by-play between the two. "Couldn't have asked for a better welcome to the... gym." She kept the smirk on her face as she looked around. "Short of maybe attacking me outright as I entered the door as a test or something."

Damien takes his hand back, smirking. "You make it sound like getting attacked is common for you."

Leah gives a chuckle at Damien's response, but otherwise remains quiet.

Skythix blinked, trying to keep her face neutral. "More than I care to admit." She raised her hand to her mouth to clear her throat and looking off to the side. "At least here I can fight back and it's just called 'sparring' though." She looked back at them with a less dour look.

Damien holds up his hands, shaking his head. "I'll have to pass on that, I'm afraid. I've got enough bruises for tonight." He laughs, pushing himself from the ropes. "Speaking of, I should probably get cleaned up. I'll need to...". He quickly glances at Leah, then back to Sky. "... Need to get my armour fixed. Fucking thing's wrecked."

Leah nudges Damien with an elbow. "I almost had it..." she frowns.

Damien looks back at her. "Had what?" He asks innocently.

Leah throws her arms out. "The chestplate!" she shouts, "Duh! Those knocks to the head really do that much damage?"

Skythix tilted her head to the side with a confused look on her face. "Very well. I'd never force anyone to fight if they didn't want to." She tapped twice on the ring's floor with a knuckle, casually glancing at the robotic arm on the man's body. "I clearly missed a good fight." She couldn't help but grin and shake her head.

Damien rolls his eyes. "You keep telling yourself that," he says, patting her on the head. He looks back at Sky, nodding. "Yeah, it was a good fight. (A painful one)."

Leah nods in turn. "He's a tough customer." she says, pressing a fist against Damien's upper arm, "One of the better challenges I've had in a while."

Flatterer.

Skythix moved from foot to foot, casually leaning to the side in a relax pose. "I'm always open to new challengers." She wiggled her mandibles in a quick grin. "I feel like that cybernetic arm is kind of cheating though." She jabbed a finger towards Damien's arm. "Way too easy to use as a blocker or just a mean club." She said with a laugh.

Damien snorts. "Want me to pull it off?" He says with a laugh.

Leah glances over at Damien, rubbing her ribcage with a grunt. "It's definitely an advantage..." she agrees.

Yeah, sorry about that...

Skythix let out a quick but loud laugh at Damien's response. It's a gruff but still sweet sounding voice. "Okay, I see your point." She set her bag down by her feet, having enough of carrying it. "Have you guys been in Freedom Falls for long?"

Damien shakes his head. "No, not long for me, lass. Barely a few months."_

Leah gives a quick nod. She makes her way back towards the ropes and vaults onto the apron. "I've been here a while." she says as she hops to the floor, "Not a bad place to stay. Especially if you can afford a place outside of town. It's beautiful. Just gotta make sure you can find steady work."

Robert enters the gym apprehensively, not a big fan of the sign out front and unsure of the kind of people he'll find inside. He looks out of place in his denim overalls and plaid shirt. Not because they're an unfamiliar sight, but because his walk tells you that he's not used to such loose clothing. He seems uncomfortable in his wide-brim hat as he scratched his

head multiple times, but goes to great lengths to ensure he doesn't move it too far to reveal his face.

Damien smiles, nodding. "If you'll excuse me, I gotta get back. I really need to try and get that armour fixed quickly." He turns and smiles to Leah. "Thanks. Seriously." He winks at her and ducks through the ropes, giving Sky a polite smile as he goes to retrieve his duffle bag from the locker.c

Skythix nodded at Damien. "I've been here just barely a month myself." She took a step to the side when Leah jumped down to the floor. "I live here in town but it's a small hole in the wall to be honest. This is the best place for me to train and not destroy my apartment." She leaned from side to side as she talked, a single hand on her thin hip. "I've only actually been outside the town

once and it wasn't the best experience." Her mandibles drooped in a slight frown. She stepped off to the side again when it was Damien's turn to hop down. "Take care, Monroe." When she turned around to watch him leave, he spotted a new human walk in. "What is it with people and missing limbs on this damn planet?" She muttered to Leah.

Robert heads to the dumbbell weights and picks one up in each hand. Instantly, he remembers his left arm is a cybernetic one. He seems to go back and forth between lifting with that arm or not, but in the end decides to left with it anyway, despite there being no muscle on the arm to build up.

Leah gives Damien a wave. She seems as if she's about to say something, but she frowns and sighs loudly while retrieving her shirt that she had draped over the equipment box. "I-... We'll-..." she trails off, "Yeah, anytime, Monroe." she says softly. She pulls her shirt back on and follows Skythix' gaze to the new arrival. "Dangerous world." she says with a shrug, "Shame it has to be

this way..."

Skythix crossed her arms and let out a sigh. She caught the way Leah acted when Damien left and wondered what was going on between the two. It didn't sound friendly or aggressive. "It really doesn't. It's just people love getting high, having things for free, and dominating themselves over others who can't do anything about it." She spat out at no one in particular. Her voice returned to

normal levels so that anyone listening could hear her.

Leah slowly nods as she begins the process of removing her gloves and handwraps. "No, you're right. Freedom Falls proves it's possible..." she begins, before shaking her head and glancing at the turian apologetically. "I mean, possible for the people of Aite to... get along? Work together? I don't know..." she elaborates, "...Doesn't always have to be constant fighting out there."

Robert notices the stares of the two women (?) and begins flexing his only organic arm extensively and grunting for their attention. Oh, how easily Human men fall to such lows. After a minute of this, he walks over to Skythix and Leah by the ring. "I saw you two eyeing me over there. Hard to ignore me, I know. I'd ask you if you want to spar with me, but I guess

I'm at a bit of an advantage here, huh?"

Skythix shakes her head. "No, it doesn't." She said in a quieter voice. Maybe that was something for her to work on. Help people who actually needed it. When the human with the fake arm come back over to them and... flirt with her? Was that what he was doing? No respectible turian would be so brash. She glanced at Leah before looking back to the human. "I don't see any advantages on your

end, human." She kept her arms crossed while maintaining eye contact with the man, unblinking.

Leah blinks a couple times as she looks up at the new arrival. "And then you realize he probably did something really stupid to end up that way, and suddenly? It's not quite such a shame." she says, although she gives no context to what she's saying, so it would probably just sound to Robert as if she's continuing her conversation with the turian.

"Well then, you want to go into the ring and spar, ...?" he asks, waiting for her name

Skythix let out a long breath to suppress an outburst of laughter from Leah's comment. It was sly and was happy she caught it. She would have happily accepted the invitation if it was just a friendly fight but this just sounded like someone wanted to show off. "Very well, you can have your fight." She said, disregarding the opening to leave her name. "Any particular rules you want or

should I just make it up as I go." She flexed her left hand open and closed that was still across her chest, flashing her sharp talons.

Leah tosses the handwraps into the bag and takes a step back, looking between the two as she parks her ass on a bench. "Gear is in the box..." she says with a nod towards the gym-supplied-equipment-box. She leans down and begins the process of unlacing her clunky boots just the way she likes them.

"Uh, well, my name's Robert. Maybe you'll tell me yours when we I win. Turian or no, you can't beat the ingenuity of an enhanced Human in the ring. Not unless you're some sort of biotic, that is. I'll leave you to decide the rules." He grabs a handwrap and wraps his right hand then climbs into the ring and positions himself at the far side, "Come on. I'll

let you make first move."

Leah glances down at the box and then back at the counter near the entrance. She stage whispers to the human in the ring, "I think they might require you to wear gloves." she says with a bit of a chuckle, "Probably not too keen on bare-knuckle fights in the middle of their gym."

"I don't mind it if she doesn't. This isn't the first time I've gone bare-knuckles against a Turian...and that was when I had two real arms, mind you. So, unless she's afraid I might break a mandible..."

Skythix gave Robert a half lidded look, clearly not impressed by his bravado. She reached into the bin and grabbed two three-fingered gloves and straped them to her hands. They were only padded on her knuckles and left her talons open to the air. She rolled her eyes at Leah, flexing her fingers to make the glove fit better. "Get a first aid kit ready." She sighed and hopped into the ring.

She flexed her arms back and forth. "Just take the gloves, human." Not bothering to use his name even though it was given to her.

Leah reaches into the box for a pair of gloves and throws them into the ring with an underhanded toss. "Hey, I don't care one way or another." she says dismissively, "I'd just hate to see ya get tossed out of this fine establishment over a misunderstanding."

"If you feel better this way, fine." He picks up the gloves and straps them onto his hands. He jogs up and down for a moment then motions his hand for Skythix to come at him before holding his hands up in a defensive posture.

Leah blinks a few times and then shrugs. "...Right...." she says with a nod, "Feel soooo much better knowing everyone is safe." she adds sarcastically. "Did my good deed for the day."

Skythix shook her fingers off to the side and flexed her neck to the left and right. "It's not my rules." She said casually. "But order must be maintained." In one quick motion, she steps a foot back and uses it to propel herself in a mad dash at the human.

Skythix | Just before getting in range she twirled herself in a circle and lashed out a straigh back kick square towards the human's chest.

Leah leans back on the bench and grips the back of the seat to prop herself up. She suddenly feels a need for popcorn.

Robert stood ready to block Skythix claws, but is caught off guard as she switches to a back kick. Later, he'll blame it on him not being adjusted to the arm yet. Sure, that's a good excuse. But he's caught off guard all the same and her foot lands square on his torso. The hit knocks him, knocking the wind out of him back but the cables around the ring propel him

back a bit. He quickly resets his stance and tries to regulate his breathing, and in a moment of inspired tactics, he charges at Skythix. He uses his left arm to block attacks to his face and throws his right fist at Skythix's face with all his force. As he does so, he tries to trip Skythix's left leg with his own left leg in an attempt to knock her off

balance, unsure if he'll even be able to prevent himself from falling down with her.

Skythix was surprised the human didn't dodge out of the way from a running kick. It was one of the easiest things to dodge in her opinion. She was torn between letting the human win to let him keep his pride or keeping her own and wiping the floor with him. She inched back after landing the kick and raised her arms up, letting out a quick breath from her mouth. She gently hopped from the

balls of her feet to stay active, mostly as an intimidation tactic. She parried the fist to her face with ease but messed up when the foot came at her. She tried to block low with her arm assuming the kick was going to her mid section. She tried to move her leg out of the way when she realized it was going low but clipped her foot with his, making her spin around at the loss of balance.

Slamming her hands on the ground to spring herself back upright, she left her arms dangling to the side. "You're gonna have to try harder than that." She said in a seething voice with her chin up but her eyes deadset on the human.

Leah cups her hands around her mouth as she shouts towards the fight, "C'mon! Stop playing patty-cake and hit each other!" she cheers, as if at a sporting event, before returning her hands to the edge of the bench.

Robert cracks his neck as he steps back, "Start using those talons of yours and I just might have to." He sprints into range and quickly throws both of his fists at Skythix's face, right before left. and swings his right leg at her abdomen.

Skythix shook her head. "I don't have to." She put up her arms and blocked the fists with the side of her arms. If he was going to keep tossing lame pitches at her, it was going to make it harder to make it look good. The kick coming up to her left was blocked lazily, forcing herself to take the brunt of the hit. She let out a grunt and hopped to the side. The fists were easy to block

but they were still powerful and made her arms burn from the impact, especially the one from the metal side. She was going to have to start dodging more which would probably just tire her out more. She focused on using her legs as they were the strongest tool she had. She lashed out a straight kick to the chest followed by a roundhouse kick to the head.

Robert easily dodges the kick to the chest but is hit, albeit unsquarely, in the nose, making a sickening crush sound. He backs himself up and swears quite audibly and wipes the blood dripping with his right arm. Quickly, he realizes that the kick, unlike the others, has knocked his hat off, revealing the left side of his face to be scarred by burns, leaving his

left eye replaced by a cybernetic. You notice that the burns go down his neck and presumably would have led to his shoulder, had it not been replaced by a cybernetic one. He grins at you, "It'll take more than a broken nose to take me out." and he charges at you, but this time he isn't blocking our readying a strike. Instead he attempts to headbutt you and

grab you to knock you down.

Skythix was readying herself for another attack when the man came at her. She was expecting a strike but when he grabbed him and used his momentum to headbutt her, it was an understatement that she wasn't ready. She fell back from the headbutt and down to the ground, her vision flashing for a moment followed by a throbbing pain. She couldn't imagine that he didn't feel that hit either.

Now that they were on the ground, she fought to get herself out. "Dirty." Was all she mouthed as she writhed underneath him to find purchase.

Leah winces at the headbutt and sits up straight, attempting to get a better view of the action now that it's on the ground.

Robert is stunned that what he just tried worked, but more so stunned because he just rammed his head into a Turian. He can barely see, but attempts to pummel Sky's face while she lies beneath him.

Skythix took a single blow to the face before bringing up her arms to cover her face from the relentless blows. No matter what the human did she wasn't going to try and hurt him too bad. After taking a few hits to the arms, she grabbed one of his arms that came down at the elbow, straightened it out, and kicked her knee up before turning her body over to use the human's body weight against

him to turn their positions around. She leaned her hands against his shoulder to pin him to the ground before bringing her own arms up to try and punch down at his face.

Robert is hit squarely in the face. Clearly, the simple life of an engineer-turned-farmer hadn't left him combat-ready against a Turian of all things. Most of his strength had been used carrying equipment, not fighting. He was proud, but there was no shame in losing to a Turian, so after the hit busts open his lip, he turns his head over to spit out the blood and

gives up, "Alright, alright! You win, Turian. It was a mistake for such a simple farmer as I to go up against a trained Turian. So please, let me up, will ya?" he raises his eyebrows earnestly.

Leah cringes once more as the turian's swing connects. "Yep... Good thing you wore the gloves..." she mutters under her breath.

Skythix was about to land another blow but her hand stopped just an inch above his nose. He gave up, and that was it. There was no personal vendetta and no reason to keep hurting him. It was a peaceful spar. She immediately removed herself from his person and stood up offering to lift him up from the mat. "Good fight, Robert." She turned her head to Leah. "Hope you got some gauze over

there."

Robert took Sky's hand and was helped up. "Thanks, um, what was your name again?" He quickly realizes his hat is off and scrambles to grab it and put it back on. He turns to Leah, "You a nurse or something? I seem to be in need of medical attention," he turns and smirks at Sky, "Unless you're in bigger need than I am?"

Leah puts her hands up, palms outward, "I'm not touching that." she says with a chuckle, "He gonna be alright?"

Skythix hefted the man up and righted him to make sure he wouldn't fall. "Skythix Teratus." She responded before touching various parts of her face where it hurt from blows, particularly rubbing her forehead. "I'll be fine. I've been hit by much harder things in the head." She backed towards the ropes and realized she was breathing heavily. She needed to work harder. "I'm sure he'll be

fine."

"Well, if you won't fix me up, I guess I should go look for the clinic."

Robert takes off the gloves and throws them on the floor and heads for the exist, "Thanks for the fight. May we spar again...Sky."

Leah remains seated on the bench. She rises and lowers her shoulders in a half-hearted shrug. "Sorry, mittens. I'm not here to fix you up." she says with a smile, "Good fight, though."

Skythix waved the human off, leaning against the ropes with her arms. "I'll be here for a rematch when you want it." She called out to him. WHen he was out of hearing range she looked down at Leah. "Spirits, did you see his face?"

Leah gives a short nod as she watches him walk away. "You may have done him a favor with that hammerfist." she says, although she instantly regrets the cruel comment and winces, "Hope he'll be alright..." She climbs back to her feet and scoops up her jacket, slinging it over her shoulder, "You seemed to handle yourself well..." she begins to pry as she adjusts her ponytail, fixing a

few loose strands of hair, "Where'd you train?"

Skythix moved to sit down on the mat of the ring just past the elastic bands. "I'm sure he'll be fine. No one goes picking a fight and expect to not get hurt." She said while looking at the exit where the human walked. She then looked back at Leah with a proud look that was apparent in her voice. "Served eighteen years in the military across multiple different ships and venues. I could

spend hours telling you everything I've done." She clenched her eyes shut at a sudden pulse of pain in her head. "I definitely went easy on that guy. I could have ended that encounter in one move but that's not what sparring is about."

Leah makes her way over to the ring apron and plops down beside the turian. "Eighteen years..." she whistles, "Long time to serve." She places her hand down at the edge of the apron, drumming her fingertips against it, "So... what brought you all the way out here, then?" she asks, genuinely curious.

Skythix let out a sigh, glancing over at the woman when she sat down next to her. "I've been asked that a few times now and each time I don't know how to answer it." She said, looking back down at the ground with her eyes half closed. "I just wrapped up my last tour and came out here. Spent a little time with my familiy before leaving to try and find something... I don't know, new?" She

looked at Leah with a confused look that said 'even I don't know if I'm telling the truth'.

Leah nods a few times as though she understands, although she clearly doesn't. "That's.... something." She raises her eyebrows and perks up a bit, giving the turian a bright smile, "But you're here now sooo... make the best of it...?" she offers, putting her hands out, palms upward. "Freedom Falls may not be much, but-..." she stops and looks off distantly, attempting to come up with

a way to finish that sentence, "...there's a place down the street with reeeally cheap burgers..." As she speaks, her voice gets quieter and quieter.

Skythix was looking down at the floor while Leah spoke. Her browplates began to press together when Leah's speech started to slow. She finally turned her head to look at the woman. Her browplates turned upward and a goofy grin began to form on her face. "Are you..." She snorted a laugh. "Was that supposed to be your pitch for Freedom Falls? Because if it was I know you have a bright future

as a travel agent." She started to laugh lightly. "Can I at least eat those burgers?"

Leah sighs and slumps down a bit. "I don't fucking know." she says, her own laughter escaping her. "The burgers aren't even that good!" she admits with a shake of her head, "I don't think this place needs a travel agent. Just a collection of people with nowhere else to go, anyway, no advertisement needed." She glances over at the turien, tilting her head sympathetically, "You mentioned

family... You sure you don't have somewhere else to go?"

Skythix put the side of her hand against her mouth to stop herself from laughing anymore at the woman's expense. "Your own colony of rejects." She said jokingly. Did she just call herself a reject? She did live there now afterall. She then shook her head after what Leah said. "Not really. I'm an only child. Pretty sure my parents didn't want to try and have more kids, just in case."

She ran her hands up and down her face to try and shake off the pain that still rattled through her head.

"Not that I have anything against them. It's just home didn't really feel like home anymore, know what I mean?"

Leah nods a couple times, just out of habit. Her expression slowly fades into a frown and she corrects herself with a shake of her head. "No. That sounds... horrible." She shakes her head and puts a hand up apologetically in case she's coming off as offensive, "What I mean is-... I guess to me, home is just... wherever family is. Places are just..." she glances around as she kicks

her leg back and forth against the apron nervously, "...just places. Freedom Falls. Earth. The Citadel. What difference does it make? I wouldn't be here if it wasn't for my pops. It's cheap, relatively safe, and I was able to get a job with a local security company so I could take care of him. That's good enough for me."

Skythix shrugged her shoulders at her first statement. "I've never felt at home." Not that that was entirely her fault. "All I've ever known was when I was home on the colony," The teasing. "Being on a ship," The looks, the fear. "And now here." Isolation. She shook her head violently in frustration. "Guess It just doesn't come as easily to me." She said with a half smile. "Let me

guess, you're a part of Redrock, too?" She was finding more of these members everyday.

Leah looks incredibly sad as she listens to Skythix recounting her life. She looks as though it's the most foreign thing she's ever heard. A sudden sensation rises up in her chest as she begins thinking back to her own mother, but it's quickly snapped away as the turian mentions Redrock. Leah gives a slow nod, "That's right." she says, "I take it I'm not the first Redrocker-... Redroc-...

Redrockian...? You've met?"

Skythix leans her arms against the tops of her legs. "Heh, nope. It also helps that I sort of signed up for them as well. Nice to meet you colleague." She said with a funny smile before reaching her hand out to shake. "I suppose it was the closest thing I could get to being back in the military but none of the pay, benefits, or training facilities." She said sarcastically.

Leah perks up a bit more as Skythix announces her involvement. She grasps the turian's hand and gives it a quick shake. "Oh! Well! Small town, huh? Monroe is another one of our-..." she pauses, realizing Skythix may not even realize who she's referencing. She gives a nod towards the door, "The guy that was just here." she elaborates, before closing her eyes and shaking her head, "Not

the one you pounded into mush. The other one. He's with Redrock, too. There's a good number of us. No idea how many more people Jason has recently hired, either. Hard to really network with the office out of commission."

Skythix nodded in response. "Yeah, I remember him, even if I was just knocked on the head." She said, gently rubbing her forehead. She desperately wanted a painkiller or something. "I'm familiar with a few others too. Jason, an asari that I forget the name of, and another woman named... Folner I believe." She tapped her chin in thought as she recalled the names. "I mostly just want to

have a proper gym to train at again." She said, laughter in her voice. "This is the next best thing though. Too bad I gotta pay for it." She paused, realizing she was talking a lot of herself. "What about you? What's your reason for being here?"

Leah gives a shrug. "Pretty much just what I said. Live here with my dad. He's kind of a shut in, so I do what I can to take care of him." She continues to swing her leg as she speaks, "Like I said... For me, home is where family is." She shrugs apologetically.

Skythix looked to the side for a moment as if in thought. "I understand. At least you got someone to look out for. I've always kinda been by myself. I don't necessarily hate it but it can get pretty stressful sometimes." She hopped down from the edge of the ring and grabbed her bag that she left on the ground. "How do I look? No chipped plate or anything, right?" She asked, looking back

at Leah.

Leah remains silent after hearing the turian's response, unsure of how she should react. Her smile returns once the turian lightens the mood, however, and she leans forward, inspecting Skythix for a moment. She quickly realizes that she really has no idea what she's looking for. "You look fine!" she says regardless because, well, she's just a nice person, dammit! She hops off the apron

in turn, giving the turian a pat on the back. "Suppose I should actually get home." she announces, giving the gym a quick look around, "But I'm guessing we'll probably see each other around. Co-workers and all."

Skythix hefted the bag over her back and looked back around the gym. "Works for me. I'm sure I'll have to polish up when I get home." Even though she was always talking about training, she was also one to make sure she always looked good. "I'll hang around here for a while. Gotta make that membership worth something, right? Or maybe just lift until I'm too hungry to keep going." She said

with a laugh. "I'll see you around, Leah. Hopefully soon the place will get fixed up and we can finally do something. Or we can just hit up a club and get drunk, whichever is more fun." She spread her mandibles into a wide grin and started walking over to the free weights. "Take care." She said with a quick wave.

Leah raises her hand at the mention of hitting a club. "Works for me!" she says with a chuckle. "I'll see you around, Skythix. Was good meeting you." She gives the turian a short wave before setting off towards the door.

Skythix would exercise for a few hours before making her way back to her apartment.
