#Miner'sRespite – September 4, 2015
Victoria walks down into the Respite from the up stairs area, she is wearing dark blue long pants and a black t-shirt. She slowly makes her way to the bar.
Va'ynna is not at the bar this evening. The turian bartender, and a salarian, seems to be doing that job at present.
Victoria takes a seat at the bar and starts to wonder if the kitchen is opened, since she saw it odd that Va'ynna was not at the bar currently.
Mavus finishes serving the customer and walks over to Vic, cracking a toothy grin at her. "Hey, what can I get ya?"
Mavus cocks his head and his mandibles twitch in thought. "I think she went to the hospital to visit a friend?"
"Oh okay, I was a little worried for a moment. She is almost always working." She said a relaxed a little more "Could I get a rum and coke please?"
Va'ynna arrives outside the Miner's Respite, talking to a slightly shorter asari who share many of her features. After saying their goodbyes, Va'ynna makes her way into the Respite.
Mavus opens his mouth to acknowledge the order, but is distracted by Va'ynna walking into the Respite as if on cue. "Well would you look at that, there she is." He gestures over Vic's shoulder as he prepares her drink.
Mavus chuckles and pours the two drinks into a glass in front of Vic. "Fair enough. Tab or credits?" He asks in reference to her payment.
"Credits." She said as she slipped a credit chit onto the bar's counter. She patiently waited for her drink to be made.
Mavus takes the chit and pushes the glass to her. He deducts the payment from the chit and hands it back to her, nodding. "Enjoy," he says before moving over to another customer.
Va'ynna stops as the turian gestures to her, but continues towards the bar when it doesn't seem VIctoria reacted. She stops just behind Victoria.
Victoria does not move from her spot, except to take a sip from her drink. She begins to whistle a little tone after her sip.
Va'ynna sighs. "I... know you noticed me," she says, and sits down on the seat beside her. "Hey." A small smile is visible.
Victoria turns and smiles at the asari "What? I thought I let you surprise me." She takes another quick sip of her drink "So, what were you doing?"
Va'ynna hums thoughtfully. "I... went to see Jason," she says. "I... was worried when... Halisi seemed upset about his treatment... yesterday." She pauses for a moment. "He says hi, by the way."
Va'ynna frowns. "He... is going to be," she says. "He... replaced both arms with... mechanical ones, and... has trouble getting used to them."
Victoria frowns a little as well "Hopefully he decides to go back to actual ones. Cybernetics don't sit right with me." She stops for a second and decides to clarify "Well, when you can pick between real or mechanical ones."
Va'ynna shakes her head. "It's... not reversible," she says. "He is... coming out of hospital tomorrow, so... you can ask him about it... if you'd like."
Victoria nods "Maybe." She stops to take a sip "Were you up to anything else apart from visiting Jason? I mean you need to get out more and do something you enjoy when you can."
Va'ynna nods. "My... mother walked with me from... the hospital to here," she says, then glances towards the exit. "If... my sechule is back to normal again, I... can go out... after lunchtime."
"Your mother? You trying to get me and her introduced to one another?" Upon hearing that she could go out after lunch made smile "I'm sure we could have a late lunch one day."
Victoria shrugs "Don't really know, to be honest. Guess that is up to you to decide." She said in a truthful manner.
Vasili walks down the stairs from the bed-room section of the inn, still wearing his jump suit but today its zipped down and the top half is tied around his waist, revealing a black t-shirt around his torso. Without the long jump-suit sleeves, its easier to see his fairly muscular build. He doesn't seem to want to draw attention to himself, except for a nod at the bartender and Va'ynna.
The drink-server, and the only person he knew. Appropriate? Yeah, he thought so. He sits down in a booth and takes out a data pad and small projector, and starts pouring over maintenance routines, while the projector creates a small hard-light replica of a craft, looking like a cross between a gunship and a troop carrier, even if it is neither. During the analysis wait times, he glances
at the menu and ponders a meal. He occasionally moves a stray hair out of his face and tucks it behind his ear, and scratches his stubbled chin in thought.
Va'ynna nods. "You... asked for it," she says, not sounding too serious. "I'll... talk with her tomorrow."
"I mean, it is not like I will be biotically thrown across the planet right?" She asked in a half joking and half serious tone.
Vasili finally sets up one of the bigger tasks for the diagnostic and puts down his datapad. He stretches once then heads out of the booth and towards the bar, still eyeing the menu, his stomach growling a little. The stern looking man looks over each item, wondering what some of it is, but he seems to recognise some things. Is it too early for lunch? Too late for breakfast? Hmmm...
Victoria sighs loudly "Great, better find something that your mother loves to save me from destruction."
Va'ynna smirks for a moment, shifting her barstool to the side so she can lean on Victoria. "Don't... worry, I'll tell her... to be nice to you," she says. "Maybe that works."
Vasili looks over the menu some more before finally making an order. "The steak, please. Medium rare with chips." Straight to the point. "And an ale." He nods in satisfaction before producing his credit chit and sliding it across the counter to pay for it. He turns around and surveys the bar a bit, but mostly keeps to himself.
"Or I keep you between us and use you like a shield. She would not throw her child across the world, right?" Continuing her joking tone.
Ennik frowns. "Sorry, kitchen is not open today," the salarian says. "Will open as normal tomorrow."
Va'ynna hums. "You... never know," she says, "and... hiding is my thing. You're... supposed to be the... confident one."
Vasili scratches his chin with a scowl. "Not open? Why not?" he asks, genuinely curious. "Too late for dinner?"
"You have not seen me near my adoptive mother." She gave a quick shiver. "Those scoldings, you think I am a scared little pup when that happens."
Ennik gestures at Va'ynna. "Our chef had to take manager duties for a few days," he says. "D'Inea sent someone more qualified, so she can resume previous tasks. We apologize for the inconvenience. I can provide list of nearby places offering food."
Vasili hmmmms and raises an eyebrow. "Is there a rule about ordering food to be delivered here?" he asks. "I just got comfortable. Surely there's an exception for when the kitchen is closed, no?"
Victoria gives Va'ynna a kiss on the cheek to cheer her up "It would be better if we see her together."
Ennik nods. "We allow it for now," he says. "Always allowed to bring food from outside to own rooms, and use kitchen upstairs."
Ennik taps on the terminal to send the list over to him. "Yes. One ale?" He walks over to where it is as if he knew exactly where to look, and returns with a bottle that's about a pint. "Glass or bottle?"
Vasili accepts the list and takes a quick glance down it. "Hm. Pizza. Interesting." he murmers, then reaches out. "Just the bottle, thanks." he says with a nod. "By the way, I have a question. House keeping is done by little Quarian, yes?" he asks, narrowing his eyes a little. He knew their reputation, had to take steps.
Ennik nods, and takes the credit chit to charge him. "Yes," he says. "Housekeeping only visits rooms upon request, and after checkout."
Vasili hums, then nods. "Noted." he says, than looks at the bottle. "That will be all, thank you," he says before heading back to his table, but not before passing the ladies' table with a small "Evening." grunt. He sits back down and tuts as the diagnostic still hasn't completed yet.
Va'ynna thinks for a moment. "Jason... made a food order for when... he's back, and... he didn't know when... yet," she says. "I... promised to make that." She looks up at the man walking by them (they're at the bar). "Good evening," she replies with a tiny smile.
Victoria smiles at the asari "I am sure he could wait a few minutes to get his food made by you." She downed the rest of her drink and gave the asari another kiss "I got a few little things to do, talk to you later my sweet."
Va'ynna returns the kiss. "I... will see you in a few minutes, then," she says. "I don't want to interrupt... your work."
Victoria smiled at the asari "You don't interrupt anything I do." With that Vicky started to exit the Respite
Va'ynna watches her leave before turning back to the bar. She asks the nearest bartender for a glass of water.
Vasili sips on his beer and sighs once again, looking at his pad. He tumbles the 'ship' over a few times to check certain points, then sits back again. He looks over to the bar and sees Va'ynna alone. Ah, what the heck. She seemed nice before, right? He could use a chat. He gets up and walks over. "Hey." he says. "What's up?"
Va'ynna looks up at him, not recognizing him right away. "Hey," she says in turn. "I... I'm enjoying my... time off. I... haven't had much of that for a while."
Vasili leans against the bar with his beer. "Mm, I bet." he murmers before taking a sip of his beer. "I'm finding myself with too much time off now. Not sure what to do with it. I must be running my... third? Diagnostic for the day. Unneeded, but... idle hands are the devil's play things." He shakes his head a little. "What is there to do around here with time off?"
Va'ynna looks a little bit amused. "You're... asking the wrong person," she says. "Walk outside... and look around, I suppose?"
Vasili huffs in amusement. "Mm. Noted." he says, quietly. "Still trying to find out who's who around here. Finding out how to get work." He stretches once again. "Still need to find out how this 'Victoria' is. I can't find any information on local databases."
Va'ynna glances at the exit, looking a little nervous. "I... was just with her," she says. "I forgot... to mention you before she had to go. I... can tell her tonight."
Vasili blinks and looks to the exit, then shrugs. "These things happen." he says. "Do not worry about it, friend. You two looked like you were having a good time never the less." He sips his beer again, checking the time. "I still have... three days before things begin getting desperate, but let me worry about that." He lets out a small chuckle. "When you do mention it, give her my
Va'ynna checks her omni-tool and nods. "I can do that," she says. "I... am not promising anything, though, since... she might not know where you can find work. She... has been... with Redrock Agency for... most of the last year."
Vasili nods and smirks. "Any lead is a good lead." he says, then stands up at his full height after his omntiool beeps. "Ah. Pizza's ready." he says, then looks back to Va'ynna, "Thanks, Va'ynna. I appreciate your help. Now though, I have dinner to eat." He lifts his bottle to her and smiles. "Dasvidanya." he puts the bottle down after finishing it, and heads back to the booth to pick
