#Miner'sRespite – November 30, 2015
Ehanis is sitting at the barstool nearest the stairs, facing the entrance, this quiet afternoon. She is holding a half-empty glass of water. She is dressed in a dark-red tank top with thick shoulder straps, simple black pants, and a basic kinteic barrier west. Ehanis has a visibly holstered pistol on her hip.
Sioria flings the door open, wearing her full desert camo armour, and brandishing her battle rifle, which she collapses and deposits on her back. She strides across the bar, scanning the area, then spots Ehanis. She waves before taking off her helmet. "Hey you. How's it going?"
Ehanis raises a brow at her entrance and stands up, reaching for her weapon. She sighs relieved once she notices who it is, but she looks none too happy about it. "What's wrong with you?" she asks, enabling her omni-tool to disable the silent alarm notifying her.
Kanaya looks on with wide eyes, but relaxes somewhat when it looks like Ehanis has the situation under control. She walks over to a patron waving at her to take their order.
Sioria blinks and looks around. "What?" she asks, "Something I said?" she tucks her helmet by her side and raises her eyebrow-ridges. "What's going on, Ehanis?"
Ehanis tilts her head. "Come on, where on this rock does someone storming in with a full getup and gun in hand not mean trouble?" she asks.
Sioria looks herself over and shrugs. "Figured people around here would know its me by now. Not many Turians with similar armour to mine..." she says, tapping the front section of her armour.
Ehanis sighs and drinks the remainder of her glass. "A lot of people come and go, you know," she says, placing a hand on the side of her face. "Fuck.... Yeah, I overracted," she says. "Sat up way too late watching vids with Mi', so today was probably the worst day you could have pulled that stunt."
Sioria shrugs and moves over to Ehanis, and puts a hand on her shoulder. "Hey... I'm sorry. Didn't mean to spook anyone. We good?" she asks, sounding quite genuine. Under the circumstances, she knew she'd have jumped too.
Ehanis offers a smile. "We good," she says. "I'm stepping in for the guy that normally handles security around here, so it's my job to overreact."
Sioria nods a little, then hugs the Asari. "Good." she says, then sits down next to her. "So how's security going for you anyways?"
Ehanis returns the hug. "It's boring," she says with a shrug. "Most of the time I'm holed up in the office looking at video feeds and watching footage from when something actually happened around here."
Sioria flags down the bartender before turning her attention back to Ehanis. "That doesn't sound very interesting..." she says. "Oh hey, not sure if my messages got through or not. I sent like... 5 in the past two weeks, decided to give up."
Ehanis raises an eyebrow. "You did? I haven't seen any of them," she says. "You sure your stuff isn't broken?"
Sioria takes out her com pad and looks it over. "Maybe..." she mutters. "Actually, probably. I haven't had it checked in like... ten years." she puts it on the bar. "Anyway. Nothing important, just explaining why I've been scarce. Had a mean stomach bug, knocked me on my ass for a week or two back there."
Sioria "Chyeah, I was hoping you would." she says, then looks at Kanaya. "Heya! I'll have a beer, and the lovely lady will have...?" she looks to Ehanis. Seems drinks were on her, even if they weren't alcoholic.
Ehanis looks thoughtful for a brief moment as she scans the menu. "Any soft drink will do," she says with a shrug.
Sioria looks back at Kanaya. "and there we have it." she puts down her credit chit. "On me. Thanks!" She smiles and looks back to Ehanis. "So yeah. Thought you just didn't have time to reply or something. I thought I'd 'get the message'."
Sioria nods. "Yep, had a checkup and all. They sent me home on sick-leave." she explains. "Cleared for duty now though, which is why I'm here. First shift back over, time for a refreshing drink with a special asari."
Ehanis grins. "That's good," she says. "I haven't talked with sis much after she relieved me from babysitting duty,... or anyone in the agency. She would probably have let me know."
Kanaya returns with two glasses and two bottles, one beer and one coke. She pours them and puts them and the bottles on the counter. "Anything else?"
Sioria shrugs and wraps an arm around Ehanis' shoulder. "Well. What time do you finish? You could make it up to me after your shift, if you want. I've got a tub of human icecream in my freezer I can't eat~." She looks to Kanaya and picks up the beer. "We're good for now, thanks!"
Ehanis nods to the other asari and takes the glass. "Thanks," she says with a smile before looking back at the turian. "Very late, and my plans for the night is going home and passing out." She glances at the exit. "There's still a few hours before things get busy around here, though, so we can go do something after we're done here."
Sioria chuckles and nods. "Raincheck on the icecream then. But yeah, I'm happy to hang out. Its been so long, afterall." she says before sipping her beer.
Ehanis takes a long sip from her glass. "I'm still on call, so it has to be somewhere nearby," she says. "Not that I think anything will happen, but I wouldn't want to be on the other side of town if it did."
Sioria nods at Ehanis before taking another sip, thinking of what they could do. "I'm all ears, figuratively speaking." Because Turians don't have traditional ears!
Ehanis grins. "Just stop me if I keep dragging you around to where I want to go. Not everyone appreciates that, apparantly." She giggles.
Sioria laughs warmly, then nods. "Yeah, market sounds fine. Honestly, I'm alright going anywhere with you." she swigs her beer again. "What exactly is at said market?"
Ehanis hums thoughtfully. "It's hard to really sum it up," she says. "Most sellers there are just there for a few days, so there's always something new. It's a bit of a maze, but you wouldn't have a hard time finding everything you need."
Sioria grins and stands before downing the rest of her beer. "Sounds like fun. Shall we, m'lady?" she asks, offering the asari her hand.
