Shyva'Nahl , the little Quarian woman with a big... personality, is currently under one of the Respite's many tables with thermal scraper and a bucket, peeling off all the gook patrons leave behind, then spraying the underside of the table down with her effective home-brew cleaning solution. "Ick." she squeaks as she scrapes off a particularly big piece of gummy substance. Her legs are

the only thing visable as they stick out from the booth.

Kanaya returns from the employee-only area aloing with a salarian, and the latter goes off to serve a less than patiently waiting patron -- Va'ynna left the bar ten minutes ago. She, however, starts walking towards the table the quarian is under. She's a slightly teal asari matron in a green tanktop and dark-blue jeans. It's the 10th of September and she arrived in the morning, but it's likely the quarian would have missed that.

Shyva'Nahl grumbles as she begins peeling a particularly stubborn bit of gook. "Come on you... so-and-so..." she mutters. Her legs tense as she pries, and her toes occasionally curl or wiggle as he gets leverage, but finally she chips it off and it plops into the bucket. "ha-HA! G-Gotcha!"

Kanaya chuckles, places a hand on the table, and peeks under it. "That means you've earned a little break, right?" she says.

Shyva'Nahl eeps and jumps, her legs disapearing under the table for a moment, then her blue masked face pokes out the side. "Um... hi..." she murmers before scuttling out, half-full bucket in hand. "M-Maybe? I d-dunno... I h-have to ask my boss." She tilts her head at the new asari. "Erm.... c-can I help you?"

Kanaya offers to help her up. "You're talking to her," she says before introducing herself, "Kanaya D'Inea. I'm here to run the show until... Aylena is done with whatever she's up to."

Shyva'Nahl gently takes the hand and stands up before Kanaya. "Oh. Um... hello." she says with a tiny wave. "N-nice to meet you, I s-suppose. I'm S-Shyva'Nahl. Custodial engineer." She looks at her hand, sprays it with some disinfectant, wipes it with a clean cloth, then offers it to Kanaya to shake.

Kanaya takes her hand. "My pleasure," she says. "Do you have a few minutes to talk? You're not in trouble, I assure you, I just want to get to know the people working here."

Shyva'Nahl shakes the hand with a little bit of strength, then lets go. She looks down at the bucket, then up to Kanaya again. "Can I get r-rid of this gross stuff first?" she asks, holding the bucket in two hands. "Not r-really sanitary to l-let it sit for too long..."

Kanaya nods. "Of course," she says. "I can wait for you in my office. Aylena's office, I mean."

Shyva'Nahl nods, then goes to the Custodial Engineering Department (Janitor's closet.) and dumps the load, sterlizes the bucket, and parts of her suit. Finally, she comes back out again and makes a beeline for Aylena's office and knocks. "M-May I c-come in?" she asks.

Kanaya is seated behind the desk, which is cluttered with datapads and papers. "Come in," she says before remotely opening the door. There's a chair on the other side of the desk from where Kanaya is sitting. Aylena's office doubles as a living room, and includes a kitchen.

Shyva'Nahl looks at the door frame after it opens. "Oooh... remote door..." she mumbles in a bit of awe before shaking her head and regaining her composure. "Oh. Um. R-Right. Hello." she says, shuffling in. Instantly she finds several things she wants to clean. Normally she wasn't meant to clean in here. "H-How can I h-help you?"

Kanaya gives a warm smile. "Take a seat," she says. "I hope your job wasn't inconvenienced by Aylena's absense?"

Shyva'Nahl takes a seat and sits up, nice and straight. "Oh n-no, not really. I h-have a set rotation o-on what gets cleaned." she explains.

Kanaya nods. "That's good," she says. "Was there any disagreements about how this place was to be run when it was clear Aylena wasn't coming back?"

Shyva'Nahl pauses for a good long moment then shrugs. "I d-don't want to be in charge." she says. "So... I usually d-don't pay attention t-to that stuff. I'm not... confrontational." she says, hands wringing in her lap. "So I d-don't know. Not to my knowledge. I've been differing t-to Va'ynna."

Kanaya chuckles. "Va'ynna doesn't strike me as the confrontational type, either," she says. "So, I'll assume it wasn't exactly argued over. I haven't talked to Mavus yet, though."

Shyva'Nahl shrugs again. "I'm h-happy where I am. I know w-what I do, inside a-and out." she explains, sitting back just a little. "If I f-found myself in t-that seat," she nods at Kanaya, "I wouldn't know what t-to do. I'd probably h-have s-several panic a-attacks before running f-for the hills."

Kanaya nods. "I see," she says. "It's not a job I'm qualified for, but we'll just keep things as Aylena had them and hope for the best." She pauses, and adds, "She's supposed to come back, after all."

Shyva'Nahl nods, a little nervously. "I'm s-sure she will." she says. "S-So... was that all? I-Is there anything else you need? Information o-on patrons? T-The local a-area?" she looks around the office. "...a maid?"

Kanaya smiles. "Offer's appreciated," she says, "but this place is criminally understaffed already, so I want to avoid putting more work on you three unless I have to."

Shyva'Nahl shrugs once again. "Miss Kanaya... b-boss lady... I don't r-really do much but draw in m-my spare time." she explains. "I don't h-have anywhere I need t-to be other than here. I d-don't hang out with my friends outside, I d-don't see my g-girlfriend much at the moment, she needs t-to focus on work, don't w-worry about that. And this pl-place is... not clean." she draws her finger

under the side of the desk and lifts it up. Dust. "I c-can fix that. I-Its really no trouble."

Kanaya chuckles. "Alright, alirght, if you insist, but leave it to when you're done with the scheduled stuff, okay?" she says. "Also, Va'ynna could use your help getting the kitchen ready tomorrow morning, so you don't have to clean here if it's late when you're done with the other rooms."

Shyva'Nahl nods with a small smile behind her mask. "When you come in tomorrow, it will be spotless." she says as she stands up. Of course, this sudden burst of confidence doesn't go unoticed as she accidently knocks over not one, but two picture frames on the desk. She scrambles for a moment, knocking over a small decorative piece or two, but soon has it all back together. She blinks a

few times before releasing a breath. "T-The kitchens just n-need cleaning... r-right?"

Kanaya grins, not minding the knocked over things - one of them was of a woman that looks like Kanaya with her arms over a salarian's shoulders. "I might be sleeping in the next room," she says with a gesture towards a door near the desk, "but Ennik will probably still be up... you know how little sleep salarians need. I'll tell him you're expected."

Shyva'Nahl nods and clears her throat, still purple around the cheeks, even if Kanaya can't see it. "Very well. I'll b-be quiet. I'm g-good at that." she gestures to the stuff she knocked over. "Erm... that... not w-withstanding." She stands up straight again. "W-Welcome t-to the Respite then."

Thank you. I'm glad this place was in good hands.

Kanaya nods. "That should be all then," she says, "unless there's something I can help you with, of course."

Shyva'Nahl thinks for a moment. "Pay rise out of the q-question?" she asks before giving a nervous laugh. Please understand it was a joke, please, please please...

Kanaya glances down at the terminal. "I'll look into it when the paperwork is out of the way," she says. "Knowing her, there's probably a book's worth of guidelines to follow for that."

Shyva'Nahl blinks. Was she considering it? Should Shyva say something? ...nah, lets see where it goes. She's saved up a lot of what she earned, what's a bit more in the bank. "T-Thanks." she says. "T-Thank you, very much. Now... I have more icky gook t-to scrape." she says, then sighs. "I wish people would just... throw away thier sticky stuff instead of putting it u-under our tables.."

she grumbles as she walks out the door.

Kanaya smiles followed by a sigh. "Drunks always makes a mess," she says. "That's pretty much a a law of nature."

Shyva'Nahl looks over her shoulder. "Oh, I know th-that. You should try clean the bathrooms a-after a busy night." She shudders. "Our toilets a-aren't small, and y-yet they miss... constantly..."

Kanaya shudders, as well. "I know," she says. "Your work is really appreciated, Shyva'Nahl."

Shyva'Nahl turns and gives a small chuckle. "I, uh... thank you. A-Again. T-That's nice to hear." She smiles widely before going back to work. Yaaaay gook!
