Yan Sun growls quietly at Jessica, scrunching her nose and giving her a light shove. "Don't mock me! You'll-... you'll regret it!" she says, sounding oh-so-menacing as they continue to walk down the path. To their right is a booth filled with various trinkets, homemade by the look of it, and beyond that another where two teenagers are selling low-quality knockoffs of turian toys - the majority are action figures armed with

various swords and tridents. To the left is a fairly large tent, flap open, and inside can be seen stacks of crates. A striped gray varren pokes its head out of the tent as Jessica and Yan Sun pass, studying them closely. Ahead the path leads to another ship, a misshapen thing seemingly comprised of a variety of parts cannibalized from other ships. Here and there are hull plates covered in rust, or battle damage, while

others seem in far better condition, but completely mismatched in color. The vessel as a whole is reminiscent, perhaps, of an old patchwork quilt, and some of the seams appear held together by omni-gel alone.

Jessica snickers as Yan Sun snaps back. "I'm sooooo worried." she says sarcastically, returning the shove with one of her own. Her eyes continue to scan about as they venture further into into the quarian encampment. Dual wielding skewered meat, she alternates which skewer she takes a bite from, chowing down with haste despite the condition of the food. "You are not seeing what you came for?" she asks as she takes another large

bite of her food. As they pass the tent, she looks to the varren with a big grin, watching it as if it was an adorable house cat.

The varren seems quite focused on Jessica, apparently having spotted the food in her hands. It sways its head side to side before bobbing up and down, giant, round eyes staring up at her with a whine. It is one of the less fishlike breeds, its skin more leathery in nature.

Yan Sun shakes her head. "Not yet, but... I think the ship up ahead may have something. It-..." she jumps slightly as she spots the varren, quickly relocating to the other side of Jessica. The animal briefly looks her way at the sudden movement, tilting its head, but it is far more interested in the food, its attention returning to Jessica.

Jessica pauses as she gains the attention of the varren and gives a quick glance around. Once nobody is looking, she picks a good portion of the meat from one of her skewers and tosses it in front of the creature. "Go on." she says to it with a nod, seemingly having blocked Yan Sun out momentarily as she nods to the food. After a moment she frowns and glances over to Yan Sun. "Wait... Is wrong to feed varren to varren...?" she asks.

The varren does not seem to take issue with eating the flesh of its own kind, quickly snapping up the grilled meat in its sharply toothed jaws and swallowing it before rubbing its side against Jessica's leg.

Yan Sun furrows her eyebrows, keeping her distance from the creature. "Uhm... I-.... I don't know? Wait, the meat was varren...?" she asks, glancing back towards the grill.

Jessica tosses the last of the meat from that skewer to the ground for the varren and then licks at her fingers. "Mmmhmmm." she confirms with a nod. "You never eat varren? Is maybe more common out in the Terminus...?" she asks, but her focus is clearly on the varren. She wipes her hand on the side of her pants and crouches down, patting the varren with her now-free hand. "But we are not going to eat you!" she assures the varren with

a big grin, "You are too sweet to eat!"

The varren nuzzles Jessica, remarkably careful in keeping its long fangs from harming her. Its reptilian tail waggles as it is patted, and it licks her face, its breath is like a less vile odor of rotting fish. The skin of the varren is soft to the touch, and it seems clean. Likely a pet.

Yan Sun shakes. "Uhm... no. Not that we... really have varren, either." She seems a little worried as Jessica pets the animal. "Is... that safe? That thing is a predator, right?"

Jessica continues to pet the varren, chuckling and closing her eyes as it begins to lick her face, not seeming particularly bothered by the smell. "Mmm. I am a predator, too, you see?" she exclaims to Yan Sun, "We have to stick together, yes?" she asks, her question seemingly directed at the varren. A few more pats and she stands up, bringing her shirt up to wipe at her face. "Varren is good pet." she says with a nod as she glances

over to Yan Sun.

The varren sways its head back and forth again after Jessica stands up, before lying down by the tossed skewer and gnawing on the meat.

Yan Sun chuckles faintly, but remains uneasy until Jessica moves away from the varren. "If you say so..." she says before pointing a thumb down the 'alley'. "Come on, let's keep moving." she suggets, waiting to make sure Jessica is coming with before heading down in the direction of the ship. The music that they've been hearing for a while seems louder in this direction. It's rather unlike what's popular on the mainstream

galactic scene. Flutes and plucked string instruments seem to dominate, with hints of synths, drums and bowed strings in the background.

Jessica glances back at the varren a few times, smile still on her face as she follows behind Yan Sun. "How are you afraid of varren, but not afraid of me, kitty cat? Mmmm?" she teases. "We are both adorable. Both loyal creatures if you treat us right, mmm?" she continues, wrapping her arms around Yan Sun's waist from behind as she catches up to her, "And we both bite!" she says, pressing her face into the crook of Yan Sun's

neck and biting her playfully. "You see? I am practically varren, yes?"

Yan Sun smirks as she feels Jessica's arms around her, and swats at her leg when she feels the bite. "Ow! Yeah, point taken. I'd rather have you with me than a weird fishdog though." As more of the ship comes into view, an open ramp can be seen to the right, and Yan Sun heads towards it. "Yep, knew it..." she says as a sign comes into view, pointing into the open entrance, with "SALVAGE, SPARE PARTS AND MISC." written in the

galactic trade language.

Jessica frowns slightly. "Is not fishie-..." she pauses as she realizes they do kind of look like fish. She glances in the direction of the varren briefly. "Eh. Is still good pet." she decides, walking in an awkward hobble as her proximity to Yan Sun makes moving forward with any speed difficult, however she maintains her grip around her waist. Whether to be close to Yan Sun, or just to be annoying, is anyone's guess. "You think

you can find what you need there?" she asks with a nod towards the ship.

Yan Sun doesn't seem to mind Jessica's clinging to her, despite the difficulty it causes with walking. She stops at the bottom of the ramp and peers inside before starting to head up. "Let's find out, huh?" she says before entering. The cargo hold of the ship is filled with crates of smaller salvage, as well as large pieces of seeming junk lying loose in the hold. Everything from ship parts to water purifiers, half of an

industrial loading mech and the carriage for a drill. In the back are makeshift shelves of smaller, delicate electrical components, and near them a counter, or rather, a few small crates stacked, behind which a quarian man stands. The only other people in the room are two humans studying an inactive combat mech and another quarian sitting on a crate in the corner.

Jessica remains clinged to Yan Sun as they hobble up the ramp. She glances around, but seems far less interested in all of the tech than she was in the varren. "Mmm. Lots of-.... stuff." she says distantly as they stop at the top of the ramp, teetering back and forth from foot to foot in place with disinterest and pulling Yan Sun from side-to-side with her.

Yan Sun looks around for but a moment before breaking away from Jessica and heading further into the ship at a hurry. She stops by the massive, hulking industrial mech stood against the wall, giving it a brief look over before proceeding further, up to the shelves of smaller components, clearly quite fascinated by the sheer variety of the salvage - there seems to be technology from all over the galaxy on display, although much of

it is in a questionable state. The quarian behind the counter calls out. "Hey! Pretty impressive collection, right? You'll find a little of everything here. Looking for something specific?"

Jessica follows behind, slowly looking about at all the bits and bobs with little idea as to what any of it is for. She reaches out and drags a hand across the mech as she passes it by, paying little mind ot the quarian that addresses them. As she reaches the shelves, she idly begins looking through things in an attempt at keeping herself occupied while Yan Sun tries to find what she's looking for. She grabs a random doodad and

begins turning it over in her hands with a confused look on her face, trying to figure out what she's looking at.

The quarian behind the counter rushes out to Jessica. "Ah, you'll want to be careful with that!" he exclaims. "It has a faulty wire! I'd like to avoid electrocuted customers." he explains, gesturing for her to put the cube-shaped device covered in frayed wires back.

Yan Sun seems like she was about to reply to the man, but when he rushes off to Jessica she returns to looking through the various electronic components in silence.

Jessica furrows her brow, glancing over at the approaching quarian. It takes her a moment to process his warning before she looks back at the cube, tosses it back onto the shelf and takes a step back, holding her hands up slightly. "Maybe is not good idea to put items on display that can hurt customer, yes?" she grunts, frowning at the quarian before moving on to a spherical device. Spheres are a much safer shape. She lifts it up

and shakes it a few times, holding it up to her ear.

The quarian flinches slightly as the component lands on the shelf with a clank, a loose wire dislodging. He hurries to put it back into place, and then curses as he looks to his side, noticing Jessica with the sphere. "Careful with that! It's rare!" he says before janking the sphere out of the human's hands and gingerly putting it back on the shelf.

Yan Sun glances over to Jessica and the quarian. "Jessica... look with your eyes, not your hands." she says with an amused smirk.

Jessica gives up the sphere with a frown, taking a step back and folding her arms across her chest. "I am not a child..." she mutters, narrowing her eyes on Yan Sun. She settles her gaze back on the quarian and rolls her eyes. "Yes, yes. Is rare. Worth a fortune. Blah blah. Is fine, stop your bitching." she groans as she walks past him and begins looking at something else she undoubtedly doesn't know the use for. She leans forward

and cocks her head towards Yan Sun, looking at her past the quarian. "There. Am looking with my eyes." she says, pointing at her fire-damaged eye, "Stop worrying about me and find what you come here for, mmm?"

Yan Sun rolls her eyes and turns to the quarian scrap seller. "I'm looking some VI processors. High-powered, something compatible with an old Amali core? Pre-standardization. I was thinking an Urusus 56b or d?"

The quarian nods along as he listens and then gestures towards a shelf further back. "Let's see what I have." he says before walking that way. "What is it for?"

Yan Sun follows after the quarian, prodding Jessica in the side as she passes and flashing a small smile before moving on, soon disappearing around a crate with the quarian. "I'm working on a mobile terminal for a research intelligence. It's an older unit."

Jessica grunts as she's prodded in the side. "I'm going to fuck you up as soon as we're out of here." she threatens with little regard to the quarian being able to hear them, "Wait and see, kitty cat!" She remains in place, looking at the shelf of what might as well be random junk to her and rolls her eyes as she listens to Yan Sun lie. "...Uh huh..." she mutters.

Yan Sun returns soon after with a delicate piece of electronics in her hand, heading over to the counter and quickly paying for the processor with her credit chit. "This is perfect. Shame you don't have any more. How long are you here for? I might be back later to pick up some other stuff, this is an impressive collection."

The quarian chuckles after finishing the transaction. "Yes, it is, isn't it? I have several scavengers working to bring in items of interest. I couldn't tell you how long we'll be here, that's up to the Captains."

Jessica remains near the shelf. As something catches her eye, she reaches out to grab it but suddenly stops herself, recalling Yan Sun's orders. She gives the woman a sidelong glance to make sure her attempt to pick the object up went unnoticed before crouching down and studying the-.... thingo.

The thingo in question is a mech head, and its optical sensors light up as Jessica crouches down, and with a crackle a voice comes from its speakers. "U-U-U-U-Unidentified target." it says.

Yan Sun returns to Jessica on finishing her conversation with the quarian, raising an eyebrow at the mech head. "Uh... having fun?"

Jessica waves her hand back and forth in front of the mech head once it begins to speak. "Mmmm. Is a head." she says plainly, as if Yan Sun might not realize this. "Did you find what you needed to fix our overlord?" she asks as she glances over at Yan Sun. She scrunches up her nose and sticks out her tongue, making a face at the-... face.

The mech's optics flash red. "Dis-Disrespecting authority is a criminal offense." it says, voice heavily distorted and the speaker continuously popping.

Yan Sun studies Jessica and the bodiless mech for a moment longer before nodding. "Sort of..." she says. "We can go back to the Miner's Respite now, anyway. Unless you want to stay here with your new friend..."

Jessica frowns as the disembodied head threatens her. Never a fan of authority, she raises her hand and flips it off. "Not my type." she says as she stands up and starts back towards the ramp. "What does 'sort of' mean? You need more?"

Yan Sun sighs as she follows Jessica out of the ship. "Yeah, probably. But I won't find it here." As they step outside, the music is still going, even though the sun is setting and gloom is approaching. She glances of to the west, where the music is coming from, and then to Jessica, a clear look of curiosity on her face before she nods towards the sound. "Admit it, you want to know where that's coming from too..."

Jessica follows her gaze, glancing off in the direction of the music. She furrows her brow. "Are you saying you didn't get enough music last night, kitty cat?" she teases, though a grin tugs at her lips, "Let's go check it out. But no wine! No matter how much you try to pressure me into it! Not this time!"

Yan Sun rolls her eyes and then stuffs the processor into her backpack, which is getting rather full now, and then shifts it back over her shoulder with a shrug. "Right. Shame on me for pressuring you so." she says with a smirk before moving down the path behind the ship that leads out west, towards the sound of the music.

Jessica nods in agreement as she follows along. "Mmmhmm. You just try and get me drunk so you can take advantage of me. I'm on to your tricks. Alcohol and locking me inside small spaces with you. Is your way."

Yan Sun nods with a raised eyebrow. "Mmm... you have me figured out. I'll have to switch it up now..." The path they are on is rather empty, no one in the stalls to the sides, but a trio of quarians pass them by, one of them bumping into Yan Sun rather hard. He spins around and apologies profusely, the translator only catching about half the words due to the speed at which he's speaking. It causes her to stumble slightly, but she

shakes her head at the quarian. "It's fine."

Jessica nods in agreement once again. "Mmm. You are not so hard to figure ou-..." she cuts herself off as the quarian bumps into Yan Sun. "Watch where you're going!" she warns, "Fuck. Does nobody out here look where they are walking!?" she growls.

Yan Sun shrugs and turns to keep walking, only to stop just a step later. "Crap, my credit chit!" she exclaims, turning around to look for the quarians again. They haven't gone far, but as they hear her they start to run.

Jessica glances over at Yan Sun, furrowing her brow. "Wha-... your-..." she begins before realizing Yan Sun's implication. "Fuck! Come back here you fuckers!" she shouts, instantly breaking into a sprint after the quarians. "Thieving fucks!" she grunts as she gives chase.

The quarians pick up the pace when Jessica gives chase, running around a corner. When Jessica rounds it she'll see about a dozen quarians moving in different directions in the open area near the grill - the thieves could be any of them.

Yan Sun remains in place at first, surprised as Jessica runs after the pickpockets, but she soon starts to follow, although at a much slower pace.

Jessica skids to a stop as she rounds the corner, her eyes darting this way and that as she tries to pick them out of the crowd. "Fuck!" she exclaims again. "Fucking cowards!" she shouts, her eyes scanning back and forth, "Proud of yourselves? Mmmmm!? Picking someone's pocket and running off!?" she continues to nobody in particular, just shouting to hopefully get a rise out of the thieves.

Several of the nearest quarians turn their heads toward Jessica in confusion, although most of them ignore her. One of them approaches however - the woman that was looking over the playing children earlier, if Jessica recognizes her suit. "Someone took something?" she asks as she comes closer.

Jessica doesn't immediately recognize her. She furrows her brow, clenching her fists tightly. "A credit chit!" she says, looking past the quarian for any sign of the thieves. Finally her eyes come to a rest on the woman. "Three of them just ran this way, did you see them?" she asks, "When I get my hands on them-..." she begins to mutter but stops herself, her eyes scanning over the woman and moving to her hands, looking for any sign

of the chit.

The quarian lets out a sigh. Her hands are quite empty. "No, I'm sorry, but I have an idea of who it might have been... some of the youth have a lack of respect for the way property works planetside. I can have a word with them." she says, looking around, but seemingly not spotting the people she's looking for immediately.

Yan Sun rounds the corner, walking up to Jessica. "It's-... it's not really a big deal. I didn't have much money left on the chit anyway..."

Jessica glances back over her shoulder, staring harshly at Yan Sun as she arrives. "Is not the point! They take something that is yours, you take it back! We show them we are not just little bitches who roll over and let them take and take and take!" Her scowl refocuses on the quarian. "Who? I want to have a word with them." she says.

Yan Sun squirms uncomfortably, grabbing at Jessica's arm. "Seriously, Jess, it's not important..."

The quarian looks back over her shoulder and then to Jessica, clearly a bit uncomfortable with the human's aggressiveness. "I'm trying to be helpful here. I can talk to them. Do you have a number I can call if I find the chit?"

Jessica continues to look around for any sign of them, remaining silent for a few moments after the quarian asks for a number. As Yan Sun grabs her arm, she releases her clenched fist, giving a brief glance in her direction. Finally she lets out a deep sigh and nods as her attention returns ot the quarian, seemingly accepting that she's not going to be bashing any suit rats today. "...Yes." she says, glancing over to Yan Sun

expectantly.

Yan Sun 's arm lights up, and the quarian woman takes out her omni-tool, and they exchange numbers. "Thanks for the help. Tell me if you find anything." she says before going back where they came from, tugging at Jessica's arm to make sure she follows.

Jessica allows herself to be tugged along, but she glances back more than a few times. Even when they round the corner once again, her focus shifts from quarian to quarian, scowl etched into her features. "Didn't I tell you? I did tell you." she answers her own question.

Yan Sun shrugs. "It was just some stupid kids... are you gonna glare at everyone for the rest of the evening because of that?" she asks as they reach the point where they got turned around before, and she continues towards the sound of the music.

Jessica pouts. "Am not glaring." she lies as she glares at a quarian they pass by, "Is just how my face is." she insists, "Now you are making fun of my face?" She lets out a deep sigh, "They took your chit. Where I'm from, you get stabbed for that shit. Fucking assholes. Too cowardly to even fight for it..." she mutters.

Yan Sun gives Jessica a skeptical look as she denies to glaring. "Really, it's not a big deal. I didn't keep much money on it." she insists, clearly not as eager for a fight as her. It doesn't take long before their walking takes them into a large, open area, covered from above with a prefab roof. Heatlamps surround the area, and along the far wall is a makeshift stage of evenly sized crates. A crowd is gathered, mostly quarian,

but with a few alien visitors. Most of them are seated on crates or on the ground - the impressively efficent heatlamps have made sure there is no snow in the area, in fact the air is surprisingly pleasant. On the stage performers are dancing. An elaborate, beautiful dance, long strands of light cloth flowing as they swirl around in front of a holographic background that projects a world of vast plains and tall, rocky

cliffs. The music is a mixture of pre-recorded material and a live performance by several quarians with instruments that can be just barely seen behind the holographics.

Jessica continues to follow Yan Sun. "Like I said, the money is not the point!" she insists, "Is about not letting people just take from you... Or do you want to be pushed around your entire life? Mmmm?" she asks. Another sigh escapes her as the makeshift stage comes into view and she once again begins to scan the crowd for any sign of the thieves. The pleasant music slowly begins to draw her attention away, however, and it's not

long before an internal conflict between focusing on the crowd or enjoying the music begins.

Yan Sun doesn't respond, quickly distracted by the display ahead. A grin starts to spread across her face and she grasps Jessica's wrist, moving towards the crowd. She glances back briefly to make sure that she's following, now grinning widely, clearly fascinated by the dancers and the music. The dancers move gracefully on the stage, swaying and flowing with the rythm, surprisingly agile despite their suits. Each of them is

dressed in a colorful garb, more elaborate than that of the average quarian. A few of the people in the crowd turn their heads to look at the strangers, but their attention quickly returns to the show, and one even gestures for them to take a seat.

Jessica sulks along behind Yan Sun for a moment, but her attention is gradually being pulled away from the crowd and back to the dancers. By the time they reach the crowd, her gaze is firmly locked on the dancers and their elegant, flowing cloths. Committed to the grump after their incident with the thieves, however, she remains silent for now despite being unable to hide her interest.

Yan Sun sits down on the ground at a spot where they have a clear view of the stage, crossing her legs. She's too busy watching to say anything. The dancers continue their routine, two of the four looking about to collide with each other, but instead transitioning into a spin together, their hands interlocked. There is an upswell in the music, and the light on the stage seems to brighten. The whole roofed area is like an oasis,

the rest of the spaceport easily forgotten around it, and the temperature is almost uncomfortably high, mirroring the projected landscape.

Jessica slumps into the spot beside Yan Sun, extending her legs out in front of her and leaning back a bit, propping herself up with her hands. She continues to grump for a few silent moments before finally shrugging her shoulders. "Is nice, yes? You like this music?" she says, the frustration still clear in her voice as if she had to motivate herself just to talk about something else.

Yan Sun still has a big grin on her face, nodding and glancing to Jessica. "Yeah, this is... this is pretty cool. I-..." She startles as a loud crack of thunder booms from the speakers, interrupting the joyful music. A brooding tune takes over as a figure in dark robes enter the stage, lifting one hand towards each of the central dancers, and pulling them apart, as if by magic. The two flanking dancers each run up to one of the

pair torn apart, stopping their slide across the stage, and looking with exaggerated terror upon the robed figure.

Jessica flinches as the thunder sounds out as well, but tries to hide it by shifting her weight, acting as if she was just trying to move a bit. She continues to watch the show with great interest, opening up to the idea of not hunting down a few quarian thieves and murderizing them.... At least maybe not today. A small smile returns to her face as she glances over to Yan Sun.

Yan Sun returns the smile and scoots closer to Jessica, leaning her head against her shoulder as she watches the show. Two of the dancers leap at the robed quarian, but a gesture of his hands sends them both flying back again, his gloves lighting up with a blue glow, simulating biotic energy perhaps. The dancers circle him, their moves now sudden and swift, matching the shifts of the music, and during a sudden swell they all leap

at him at once, and an elaborate representation of a fight breaks out, all shown through dance, as the group weaves around the lone figure.

Jessica returns her attention to the show, tilting her head slightly to rest it against Yan Sun's. "You see? They don't let him steal their credit chits..." she says, obviously still holding onto that, although she's obviously joking.
