#YanSun'sRoom – January 30, 2017

Yan Sun stops at the door to their room, shifting her weight and glancing Jessica's way, looking at her feet briefly before turning her attention back to the door. "Yes?" she says quietly while she fumbles to enter the code to the room.

Jessica stands in place a good few feet away from Yan Sun. She lets a moment pass before simply shrugging her shoulders. "You are being weird... Everything is okay, yes?" she asks, a look of concern suddenly crossing her features. She cocks a thumb back over her shoulder and glances back towards the stairs before looking to Yan Sun once again. "He-... Don't let that asshole bother you, kitty cat. He's just-..." she trails off,

unsure of where she was going with it, and simply shrugs again, "...A fuck."

Yan Sun steps into the room once she manages to open the door. She seems a little annoyed that Jessica doesn't seem to understand what's bothering her, but the dominant emotion in her face is still just unease. She starts to remove her jacket but then stops, blurting out "You didn't have to stab him." rather abruptly.

Jessica follows Yan Sun inside and closes the door behind her. She studies Yan Sun, awaiting a response. Though when she gets one, it's quite clear it wasn't what she was expecting. She furrows her brow, a look of confusion coming to her face. "I-... Wha-... I stab him because he was going to stab us! Is not-... Gah... You are mad at me!? Maybe you would be glad if I just let him take everything we have, mmm? Maybe stab us a few

times? Is fine, yes? So long as I don't hurt the poor little fuck's feelings?" She scoffs, folding her arms across her chest. "Now he knows what it feels like to be stabbed! You should-... You should be happy! I teach him a lesson, mmm? He will think of this the next time he tries to rob someone!" she continues, turning things around as to frame herself as a hero.

Yan Sun resumes fumbling her jacket, alcohol and a slight shaking combining to make dealing with the zipper take a little while. "Y-... w-... no, I-... that's not w-... I don't know!" she says, stumbling uncertainly over her words as she pulls her jacket off and hangs it on the hook, staying turned against the wall.

Jessica nods with a smug look on her face each time Yan Sun stumbles over her words. "Mmm. Of course. You don't know. So if I do nothing, what would you have done? Mmm? Please. Tell me. Since I am soooo wrong for stabbing some scumbag who try to stab me, tell me what is the right way to do things?" She tilts her head to the side as she awaits an answer. Her demeanor signifying that she's not expecting much of a coherent

answer.

Yan Sun frowns, turning quiet again. She takes off her wet hoodie, tossing it on the bed. She's still avoiding looking at Jessica.

Jessica unfolds her arms and begins taking off her own jacket. "Mmm. I see. Yes. That is muuuuch better choice. Go quiet like a mouse and hope he doesn't hurt us." she says. She hangs her jacket and steps further into the room with a shake of her head. "I forget you have suuuuch good advice, kitty cat. I will remember this. Next time we get robbed, you can handle it, yes?" her taunting continues.

Yan Sun 's mood is clearly completely soured and Jessica's mockery is doing nothing to help things. She walks past her to the bathroom and locks the door behind her without a word.

Jessica scoffs as Yan Sun retreats into the bathroom, following her over to the door. "Gah! Why you are being like this!?" she shouts through the bathroom door as it locks. "I save your credit chit and this is how you act!?" She bites down, pressing her forehead against the doorframe and trying to calm down.

Yan Sun offers no immediate answer, and the door remains locked. The faucet can be heard turnin on, however, followed by some splashing water.

Jessica gives a loud sigh and closes her eyes. "Gah-.. you-..." she begins, but quickly gives up and falls silent. She remains near the door for a few moments, forehead pressed against the doorframe. Finally, she turns around and puts her back against the wall beside the door and lowers to the floor to sit down. She sucks in a deep breath, props her elbows up on her knees and rubs at her forehead as she looks across at the opposite

wall, cursing under her breath at how sideways the whole situation has went.

After a while the running water stops, and a moment later the door slides open, and Yan Sun steps out, her movements delayed for a moment as she navigates around Jessica. She's washed her makeup off, and her expression is fairly neutral. She lets out a quiet sigh as she stops by the bed. "I'm-... I'm gonna go to bed..." she says quietly, sitting down on the edge of the bed and unbuttoning her pants before starting to work them off.

Jessica's head snaps up as the door opens and she follows Yan Sun's movements with her gaze. As Yan Sun begins to undress she climbs to her feet, using the wall for support, and follows over to the bed. "He tried to rob us, kitty cat..." she says as she stands beside Yan Sun. Though her voice is far less confident this time. "I was only-..." she shrugs. "This is just-... gah-..." she stammers. She squints a bit and turns her focus

towards the bed, becoming more and more frustrated with herself for being unable to get through to Yan Sun. To her, it makes perfect sense. Someone tries to hurt you. You hurt them. Show them you're not to be fucked with. But she's not ignorant to the fact that the whole galaxy doesn't operate on the same rules as Adrasteia.

Yan Sun 's gaze darts over to Jessica before going back to her pants as she tugs them off, leaving them on the floor and grabbing the bottom of her top. "I-... I know." she says quietly, pausing for a moment before pulling it up and off. Despite her words, the discomfort is still there as she lets the top drop to the floor.

Jessica scoffs, giving a slight stomp of her foot like a child frustrated at being misunderstood. "No. You don't." she says. "This-... This is not your Hong Kong, kitty cat. I live here my whole life, mmm? Out here, people will-..." she makes as if holding a handle and jabs her fist softly into Yan Sun's side a few times, making a 'shkt' sound each time she does, "...stab you for whatever. Your credits. Your shoes. Whatever.

Is-... Gah-... Maybe he was not like that but-..." she frowns, looking uncomfortable for a moment. "I wasn't just going to-... what if he hurt you? Mmm?" she asks, suddenly looking a bit embarassed at even voicing that concern.

Yan Sun frowns, looking over at Jessica again and nodding slightly, her gaze focused on her legs. "I-... I get it, okay? Things are... they're different here. I know. But you were-... you would've killed him, wouldn't you?" she says, looking up at her eye now.

Jessica furrows her brow once again and her gaze moves to the ground. She stammers over her words a few times before beginning to repeat her earlier words. "He was going to-..." she starts, but gives up partway through. "I don't know, kitty cat... Probably no." she offers, not exactly committing to her response. As she looks back to Yan Sun, she bites her lower lip. The feeling of being judged is apparent on her face. "...I tell you

who I am, kitty cat." she sighs, "I never hide it from you. Never." she states before shrugging and backpedaling a bit, "Well-... gah... not since.... You know. Elevator." She folds her arms across her chest, though given her current attitude and demeanor, it looks far less defiant than it usually does. More insecure if anything. "You think I want to do what I did? Is just-... is just the way it is..." she says, her gaze

falling to the floor once more. "Maybe-... Maybe is better if I just stay here..." she adds softly, and it comes out more as a question than a statement.

Yan Sun 's gaze falls again as she listens in silence to Jessica. Her final words causes her shoulders to drop a little. "Jessica... that's not-..." she lets out a sigh, looking down at her hands in her lap. "I want us to go together. I ju-... I'm not used to seeing that side of you. I know you were just-... you were trying to keep us safe. But... you didn't have to-... you already beat him."

Jessica remains silent for a long period of time, simply staring at the ground. Seeming exhausted over the whole ordeal, she sighs. "Kitty cat-... People out here? They are always just looking for a weakness. For an opportunity. Is it how it should be?" she shrugs her shoulders, "Who fucking cares? Is how it is. If you are weak, you are an opportunity. It was not just about him... It was about the guy across the street.

Maybe the person down the block, mmm? It was about-... Gah-... about not being a victim. Anyone's victim." It's a philosophy that has clearly been ingrained in her. Probably beaten into her by a lifetime of growing up in a dangerous, violent city. It's obvious that she's not proud of it, and she does her best to avoid eye contact. "Look-... I will try to not stab anyone from now on, mmm?" she says. And as ridiculous as

it is, it sounds as a sincere offer.

Yan Sun looks up at Jessica as she speaks, her frown remaining, but taking on a more sympathetic nature. She stands up, reaching for Jessica's crossed arms as she does, nestling one of her hands in with Jessica's and squeezing it. "Come here." she says softly, wrapping her other arm over her shoulder and around her back, giving her a hug.

Jessica sighs, reluctantly returning the squeeze with one of her own at first, frown still on her face. But she quickly comes around. After all, she was only mad at Yan Sun because Yan Sun was mad. A tiny smirk tugs at her lips and she unfolds her arms, releasing her grip on Yan Sun's hand before wrapping her arms around the woman's waist. She holds her silently in a tight hug for a few moments before feeling the need to have to

ruin the moment. "That does not go for you, though, understand?" she makes clear. "If you piss me off I am still going to stab you!" Her right hand moves to Yan Sun's side and she gives her a few quick pokes in the side with her middle and index finger. 'Shkt, shkt, shkt'.

Yan Sun lifts her head to look at Jessica as she hears her comment, but her response is interrupted as she squirms from the poking, hastily trying to extract herself from the hug. "Hnn-... gah!"

Jessica is only encouraged to tighten her hug and jab a few more finger-stabs in there. 'Shkt, shkt, shkt, shkt'! She snickers as she digs her fingertips into Yan Sun's side. "And now you are dead. You see? I know your weakness, and so now you are my victim." she states, as if that proves that the logic checks out.

Yan Sun lets out a half-hearted laugh, but it's pretty clear she's not really in the mood for Jessica's fooling around. She lets out an exhausted half-groan, half-sigh and swats at the hand poking her in the side.

Jessica finally releases her hold on Yan Sun and takes a step back. She gives a sigh of her own as her snickering dies down and takes a seat at the edge of the bed to kick off her shoes. Despite her goofing off, it's pretty clear that she's still a bit rustled over the whole ordeal. The whole 'arguing' ordeal... Probably not so much the 'stabbing someone' ordeal. She's just doing her best to direct everything away from that since

she knows that she's the cause of the problem. Things will be better once they leave Aite. She will be better. She looks to Yan Sun, forcing a smile into place.

Yan Sun sits back down next to Jessica, glancing her way before removing her socks and scooting up into the bed, crawling underneath the covers and propping herself up on her side, looking at Jessica's back. She sighs quietly and reaches out, running a hand up and down her back. "We're getting out of here. Soon. You showed me Adrasteia... I want to show you Hong Kong."

Jessica remains where she is. She leans forward a bit, resting her elbows on her knees. She nods her head in response to Yan Sun. "Mmm. I can't wait..." she says, ignoring the tsunami of fears clawing at her insides. "...They better have fun clubs."

Yan Sun continues to study Jessica, but a small frown crosses her face and she sits up, not quite buying her reaction. She scoots up behind her and puts her hands on the woman's shoulders, squeezing them gently and folding her legs under herself. "Hey, look, I-... I got scared, alright? I know you were just... trying to deal with the situation." she says softly, pressing her face against Jessica's neck

Jessica brings her own hand up and places it atop one of Yan Sun's. She tells herself to just apologize. Just take responsibility for fucking up and say you're sorry. You stabbed a guy. It's the least you can do. "Mmm. Is fine." she says simply. Close enough, right? She runs her fingertips across Yan Sun's knuckles a few times before leaning her head to one side and pressing a lazy kiss against her hand. "Shit happens. You are

fine. I am fine. And I am sure he will be fine, too. By next week, he will be stabbing somebody else in that alley. Is no big deal... Let's just forget about all of this, yes?"

Yan Sun 's frown remains, and she looks at their hands in silence for a moment. "Yeah..." she says quietly, lingering for a moment before withdrawing her hands and lying back down, facing away from Jessica this time.

Jessica sucks in a deep breath as Yan Sun withdraws her hands and then stands up from the edge of the bed. "I am going to wash up." she says, giving one last glance towards the bed before starting towards the bathroom.

Yan Sun pulls the covers up a bit as she settles into the bed, staring at the wall as she thinks back, still processing.

Jessica stops at the drawer where her clothing is stored and then disappears into the bathroom for a number of minutes. The sound of running water can be heard for a short amount of time as she scrubs a particularly stubborn bit of blood from her hand. When she finally returns, she's dressed in a pair of soft black pajama pants and a white tanktop. As she reaches the edge of the bed she lifts up the blankets and climbs in behind Yan

Sun. "You are sleeping already?" she asks. Seemingly little respect for the possibility that Yan Sun might be asleep.

Yan Sun shakes her head, offering a quiet "No."

Jessica scoots up right behind Yan Sun. "Oh..." she says softly. She slides an arm over Yan Sun's side, cuddling up behind her. A mischievous grin returns to her face as she presses an ice cold foot against the back of Yan Sun's leg. "My feet are cold." she complains, very well aware of what she's doing.

Yan Sun flinches as Jessica's freezing foot presses against her leg, but then relents with a quiet sigh, defying the cold as she shifts her legs to squeeze the foot between them to warm it up.

Jessica snickers to herself and cozies up behind Yan Sun and presses right up against her. "Much better." she says. It doesn't take long for her grin to disappear as the silence gives way to those nagging fears in her mind once again. And soon enough she finds herself simply staring at the back of Yan Sun's head through the darkness.

Yan Sun lies in silence for some time, just staring at the wall as she thinks. Eventually she finds herself distracted as she realizes she's still wearing her bra, shifting into a halfway-sitting position to unhook it. She slips it off and then shoots a glance around the room. Her eye lights up, darts around for a few seconds and then the ceiling light turns off.

Jessica's eyes are still wide open when Yan Sun sits up. She watches in silence aside from a quick cat call little whistle as the bra comes off. Though when the light shuts off, she gives a quick snort. "You are hacking our room." she observes aloud, her voice muttered in that way it tends to be when half of your face is pressed against a pillow.

Yan Sun ignores the whistle, but furrows her eyebrows as she hears the observation, her left eye now a floating point of blue light in the suddenly pitch-black room. "No... I used the lightswitch." she says, almost seeming a little amused by Jessica's assumption. She pulls the covers up to ward against the cold as she lies back down, she herself still a little frozen from the snow that was shove down her clothes.

Jessica shrugs against the bed. "Same thing." she says, obviously having no idea how any of Yan Sun's cybernetics actually work. She lets out a deep breath and rolls onto her back, folding her hands atop her chest as she stares up through the pitch blackness of the room.

Yan Sun returns to her previous position, closing her eyes and curling up a little as she tries to go to sleep, without much luck. Not used to being held up at knife-point, or watching her girlfriend stab someone for that matter, she's still shook, and it's not long before she's back to staring at the wall, remaining uncomfortably silent.

Jessica doesn't seem to be having much luck either. Less due to the attempted robbery or the stabbing that followed, and more due to Yan Sun's reaction to it all. Time just ticks by as she silently stares at the ceiling and a million thoughts gnaw at her. -Now she knows your true colors. You warned her. Good! Now maybe she'll leave you alone. You save her life, protect her from some armed thug and all she can do is complain- She

sighs to herself. -What if she leaves without you?- "You are sleeping already...?" she finally asks again.

Yan Sun turns halfway onto her back, blinking and glancing in Jessica's general direction. "No..." she responds. Again. She lets out a sigh, turning around so that she faces Jessica and then lying back down against the pillow again, slipping a hand in beneath it. Her eye lights up again as she studies her in the dark, aided by her cybernetics.

Jessica rolls onto her side to face Yan Sun as well. Her gaze moves to the glow of her cybernetic eye. She gives a shrug against the bed, causing the blankets to shift slightly in place. She sucks a deep breath in through her nose and out through her mouth in preparation as she tries to figure out how the foreign phrase is actually uttered. "I am sorry." she says, clearly at odds with herself. "Maybe-... Maybe I go too far. I did

not want him to hurt you... I-... gah-..." she takes another deep breath, and then continues in one breath, the words coming out almost as if they're meant to be insulting or an accusation, "Yes. I like you, okay? You already know this. And if something would have happened I would be pissed so-... so I-... Gah... And maybe sad.... So-... I go too far and now you are angry with me. And I don't want you to be angry

with me so-.... So fuck you, mmm?" She bites her lower lip. Apologizing clearly isn't something she does too often. Or admitting that she gives a shit. As Yan Sun should know on both counts.

Yan Sun looks at Jessica in silence as she listens to her speak, the glow of her eye disappearing a few times when she blinks. Towards the end she lets out a tired sigh which turns into something like a muffled chuckle, finding some amusement in her... special, 'fuck you'-infused brand of apology. "I-... I'm not angry." she says quietly, shuffling closer to her and reaching for her left hand. "It's-... it's okay." She squeezes

her hand and then rolls over, pressing her back against Jessica and using the hand in her grasp to pull her arm closer and give her knuckles a kiss. "It's okay."

Jessica doesn't seem to be put at ease by Yan Sun's words, though she gives a subtle nod of her head. She's already said too much to continue pushing the issue. Instead she just cuddles up behind Yan Sun, slipping her other hand between Yan Sun and the bed so she can snake it around her midsection. "Mmm. Good..." she says softly as she presses a kiss against the nape of Yan Sun's neck.

Yan Sun pins Jessica's hand under her chin, seeming content as she presses closer and they continue to spoon. If she's aware of Jessica's unease she doesn't show it, her eyes closing as she lets out a long breath.
