#VVApartment – April 26, 2017
Va'ynna arrives alone at the apartment's front door and opens it, having parted ways with Uvena in the lobby downstairs. She's wearing her navy blue jacket that's not getting any less insufficient for the weather outside, and black pants that's no more suited for the weather outside.
Victoria sat on the couch, wearing grey pants and blue t-shirt. In front of her is a bottle of rum and a glass, the bottle is only missing enough to fill four drinks from being full. Vicky did not say a thing when the door opened instead, she was justing looking at a picture on her omni-tool.
Va'ynna walks over to hang up her jacket. "Have you been... drinking?" she asks as she spots the bottle of rum and glass on the end table. "What's... the occasion?"
Victoria nods at Va'ynna's question "I have been. Not a whole lot, about four glasses from this afternoon to now." She pauses for a moment and moves her arm to allow Va'ynna to have a look at the picture on her omni-tool. The picture is a woman with black hair, that when you compare her to Vicky, they look similar. "That is my sister. Met her today."
Va'ynna walks over to take a seat at the couch beside her, watching the picture as she goes. "Oh? Your sister is... here?" she asks, inviting her to elaborate. Underneath her jacket, she's wearing her long red shirt, and she's quite cold to the touch.
Victoria turns off her omni-tool and puts her head on Va'ynna's shoulder. "She hired a information broker to find me. Found out I work for Redrock. Talked to Jason about me, Jason told me." She stops for a moment, even if the asari is cold to the touch, it makes Vicky feel comfortable. "I met her today. She is a doctor, working out here because she wanted to see me."
Va'ynna shifts in her seat to snuggle up closer as arms are draped over her shoulders, the asari eager to steal some more heat now that it's on offer. She had an eyebrow raised as Victoria told the story, finding it weird the ends her sister went to in order to find her. "She... moved here because she wanted to see you?" she asks. "She didn't call you first?"
Victoria was silent for sometime after that question. "She told me that... that my parents said I died. That I died instead of them abandoning me." She went back to being silent for a moment "But, as she grew older and could never find anything official, she started to look into it herself."
Va'ynna raises her eyebrows again, the gravity of that statement taking a bit to register with her. Maybe her fatigue has something to do with it, or it could be disbelief. What Uvena did was terrible, but that's nothing compared to this. "That's... horrible," she says sadly. "Why would they do that?"
Victoria shrugs "I do not know. But that is why I was drinking." Vicky gave a slight shiver as the cold was starting to register to her, but she wrapped an arm around Va'ynna's waist so she did not move. "My fake death made my sister a doctor. So that is one plus." She tried to lighten the situation, but it was probably a failure.
Va'ynna lays her head on Victoria's shoulder, probably the coldest part of her. "It's... still awful," she murmurs. "Your sister... sounds like a good person, though, I... would like to meet her."
Victoria nods, shivers a little and brings the asari closer "I did tell her I was with an asari." Vicky moves to kiss Va'ynna's forehead. "You will meet her. When you get more free time, I don't want you to get stressed out while you are working these hours."
Va'ynna smiles at first as she's kissed, but she frowns when Victoria postpones her meeting with her. "Why... not take her to Miner's Respite?" she asks. "The afternoons are really boring. D'Inea passes the time doing paperwork, but... I don't have that."
Victoria sighs at first and moves herself to place her head on Va'ynna's lap. "Because I have been drinking and do not think when I drink. Plus, I thought you might be busy and did not want to stress you out." She reaches up to place a hand on Va'ynna's cheek. "I did not want to rush you into meeting my sister, in case you wanted prep time or something."
Va'ynna catches herself in time before she tips over as Victoria suddenly no longer supports her weight, though she turns her head to look down at her. "That's why you should... talk with me instead," she says. "Even if... I'm busy. I don't... make you stupid." She tilts her head, and quietly adds, "I hope."
Victoria stares Va'ynna in the eyes. "You don't make me stupid. I just rush things, when I should have more patience." Vicky lifts her head up to close the distance between them. "But I am a human. So I rush everything without thinking." She remains still and continues to stare at Va'ynna "You are my first non-rush choice."
Va'ynna gives a tight-lipped smile at her last point. "I... can believe that," she says. "You just... never gave up, no matter how often I rejected you." The asari doesn't speak more on that, having already said how terrible she was for rejecting her so often. She takes a hand a strokes her hair. "This... you lying in my lap, I mean,... this reminds me of when we had just gotten together," she begins, "when I...
Victoria nods, remembering the night. "I remember and I hope I never forget it." Vicky begins to stroke Va'ynna's cheek. "I hope that when I am nothing but dust, you still remember me and moments like this."
Va'ynna closes her eyes, appearing saddened by the thought. "I will," she says solemnly. "I... I probably wouldn't live to share the memory weren't it for good people like you."
Victoria lifts her head that final distance to give Va'ynna a kiss. "Let stop talking about such things now. Instead, we should enjoy our time together." She lowers head back towards Va'ynna's lap but not completely.
Va'ynna gives a slow nod after returning the kiss. "Mhm," she says. "I will keep doing that." She lets out a mostly stifled yawn. "There's... another long day tomorrow," she says, "so I think it's time we go to bed."
Victoria nods and sits up from her current position. "Probably the best choice at this time. You might need a quick hot shower, should warm you up fast."
Va'ynna sighs and stands up from the couch, standing there for a few seconds as she weighs the decision. "That's... not a bad idea," she says and starts walking towards the bathroom.
Victoria gives Va'ynna a light slap on the posterior before she walks away and smiles at her. "I am full of good ideas." She stands up after that and makes her way towards the bedroom.
