#Litae'sGrace – July 16, 2017

This logfile is imported from aitelogs2 and may contain errors or wrong timestamps.

Renala approaches Litae's Grace around mid-morning on the 17th, having left from work earlier. She's wearing a simple red winter jacket and black pants, but there are no weapons visibile on her person. She's not going anywhere without her biotic amp, and anyone who knows where to look will see it among the scalp crests. She has her brown leather jacket beneath, which would provide some shielding if this goes to

hell and a gunfight ensues.

Litae's Grace hasn't changed much since the last time Renala was here. Only now there's a knee-high row of snow piled along the wall. It seems Quinn and his people aren't too big on proper maintenance, as there's only been just enough snow cleared out from in front of the bar for a footpath the width of a single person. The small neon holographic sign in the window is lit up, casting a pink reflection across the white snow outside and the

holographic depiction of Litae flickers in and out of existence. Given the time of day, there's not many people inside. Just a few people in a booth against a wall. Molly, the bartender, is behind the bar wiping down a glass none-too-enthusiastically. Her long dark hair is pulled back into a tight ponytail and she has a fresh black eye on display. Seated in a booth near the door to the backroom is Eddie, much as he looked previously.

Terminus assault armor. Shaved head. Short dark goatee. With little to watch over this early in the day, he's staring into the holographic display on his omni-tool.

Renala sighs as she stands at the start of the path from the road to the entrance. She was no less doubtful about how good an idea it was for her to show herself here again after her last deceit that lead to the downfall of one of Quinn's business partners. This was the sole lead they had on finding Henrik, so whatever trouble were to follow would be worth it in the end. She enters the establishment, her eyes

set on the bar at once, and she approaches it with purpose. She already had a day ahead of her with no shortage of frustrations maintaining a fascade of stability in the systems at work, so dealing with more people than necessary was something she sought to avoid. "Good morning," she says upon reaching the bar.

Molly raises an eyebrow as she glances up at Renala. "Oh yeah? What's so good about it?" she asks. Pocket full of sunshine, this one.

Renala chuckles and glances out the window for a moment. "Well, the weather's not too bad," she offers in a half-hearted tone. "Bad day, huh? Just tell Quinn I'm here to have a chat with him and I'll be out of your way."

Molly follows Renala's gaze to the window, but the mention of Quinn quickly pulls her attention back to the asari and she gives a sigh and a roll of her eyes. "Nobody here by that name." she says. Her tone is flat and bored. It's not exactly an enormous city so it's not confidential information that Quinn operates out of here. This is more of a veiled, 'I know he's not expecting anyone so fuck off.' At any rate, it seems she doesn't

recall Renala at the very least.

Renala gives a deep sigh and folds her arms, unwilling to 'fuck off'. "You think I stepped off the shuttle here a minute ago?" she says. "I'm here on Steve Briggs' behalf, he's not doing too well after the last job."

Molly scowls and simply stares at Renala. After another moment, she gives another deep sigh. "Eddie!" she shouts, her eyes still locked on the asari. "Take her back!"

Eddie casts a glance the pair's way and begins taking his time climbing out of the booth. Once up, he approaches the door to the back and waits for Renala to join him.

Molly bites the inside of her cheek, staring holes through Renala for the attitude she was given. They're a friendly bunch at Litae's Grace. She wordlessly nods sharply towards Eddie. It's a silent 'Get out of my sight.' if there ever was one.

Renala grins at her. "What a lovely establishment," she says before she walks off to join Eddie at the door. She lets out a small sigh as she meets up wtih him. "I'm not here to cause trouble," she tries to assure him, even if it's probably something they all say.

Molly snorts as Renala walks off. "Don't let the door hit you on the ass on the way out." she mutters.

Eddie barely reacts to her statement. Instead, he simply raises a finger and swirls it in a circle, indicating for her to turn around. "I'm gonna have to pat you down before letting you inside. Save me some trouble and just tell me if you've got any weapons on you before I find 'em." he says as he looks her over.

Renala pulls out the biotic amp from among her crests and hands it over to him before turning away from him with a sigh. She's not eager to have a stranger's hands all over her, but it wasn't her first time dealing with paranoid figures. "That's the only 'weapon' I have," she says. "I want it back when I leave."

Eddie takes the amp and bounces it in his palm for a moment before sliding it into a compartment on his armor. "You'll get it back." he says plainly as he begins patting her down. Unlike Molly, Eddie isn't giving any attitude. His tone is just emotionless and monotone. The sort of tone that indicates that this is just a job to him and he has no investment one way or another what Renala thinks of him. Given the fact that he does this

routine regularly, he has it down to a science and it's mostly unintrusive. Well, as unintrusive as a patdown can be. Once satisfied that Renala doesn't have a rocket launcher stowed away for safekeeping, he taps the interface to open the door and waves her inside. He either doesn't recognize her or simply doesn't give a shit. Neither would be surprising.

The hallway, as one would expect, hasn't underwent any major changes. There's a few locked doors on either side with the door to Quinn's office straight ahead.

Renala is still and patient as he pats her down and shows little reaction to it. She had nothing to gain and much to lose by being impatient or impolite with the secuirty guard, so she'll save her attitude in case she has to interact with Molly again. "Thank you," she says after the door is opened and she sets off towards the other end.

Eddie doesn't bother responding to her thanks. Though he does follow her into the hallway. And all the way to the end...... And into Quinn's office. Once inside, he takes a position beside the door.

Quinn is seated behind his desk. The irritating little imp instantly has a grin across his face at the sight of Renala. "Well if it isn't my old friend Thara Dyhnas!" he says, giving a sweeping gesture towards the seat across from him. "What a pleasant surprise! I mean here I am just getting some early work done when- imagine my surprise? I glance at the security feed-..." he pantomimes looking at his terminal, "...And who do I see

walking down my hallway?" There's a slight twitch in his face as he bites down hard and slams a fist against the top of his desk while he rises to his feet and that faux-friendly attitude melts away, "The bitch who got all of my fucking associates killed!"

Eddie doesn't even flinch. He already has his omni-tool back out and is poking through the interface.

Renala takes a few steps into the room as she listens to him, giving the slightest flinch as be punches his desk. She is about to take a seat, but stops behind the chair since he's also standing up. Aside from that flinch, she does remain composed. "You need to find better business associates then, nabbing people is a sure way to piss off people with credits," she says. She starts taking off her jacket, for the

kinetic barrier on the leather jacket is completely ineffective under the winter jacket. And given Quinn's temper, she might need it. "This time there's no deceit, I'm looking for a man that might have passed through here, and me and Briggs intend to kill him." Renala warned Steve that she might not be welcome here, so if this tarnishes his reputation with Quinn, then that's on him.

Quinn furrows his brow, nostrils flaring as he studies Renala. "You-..." he trails off, seeming at a loss for words. He clears his throat theatrically and taps a hand against his chest. "You're telling me that you're here.... right now... asking me for favors? Do you have any. Fucking. Idea. Any fucking idea. Just how many credits you lost me?" He stands up straight and turns his attention to his suit jacket which he begins to

straighten. It's a way of distracting himself from further losing his temper. If their previous meeting was any indication, he's not exactly the sort that likes to be rattled. Sucking in a deep breath to calm himself, he finally continues. "I'm going to tell you the same thing I told that silverback gorilla friend of yours." he says, his tone calming down as he looks back to the asari, "You want to come in here and spend credits?

You come in here and spend credits. But you- Renala T'Iavay-..." he says pointedly just to let her know that he did his research as that smug impish grin returns to his face with a nod, "...and all your lil' Redrock buddies cost me a lot of money. So you've got balls the size of Eddie's fat fucking head if you think I'm helping you with shit."

Eddie glances up as his name is mentioned, but then immediately returns to looking at his omni-tool when he realizes it was just a passing insult.

Renala sighs and shakes her head, still not taking her seat. "So, all is out in the open then," she says, sounding rather pleased about it. "Good." While concealing her identity would be ideal, this revelation opened more doors than it closed. "You see, Redrock is not yet involved in this mess," she says, "but they're going to be very fucking soon, so I think it's in your best interest to help us out." She

sighs. "I don't mean this a threat," she says, "but there's a limit to how long I can stall their investigation of this mess, and their methods are much more heavy-handed than mine."

Quinn furrows his brow as he stares down Renala. "The fuck is that supposed to mean? What 'mess' are you talking about?" He glances over towards Eddie, as if he might have an answer, but Eddie is barely even paying attention. He sucks a deep breath in through his nose and looks back to Renala. "I don't have shit to do with you and your people." he says, finally seeming to be past his 'yelling phase', though a scowl is firmly engraved in

his features. He adjusts his jacket one last time before sitting back down. "So whatever you're pissed about, it has nothing to do with me. Understand?"

Renala sits down in turn, though she doesn't lean back in her seat. "I'm looking for a guy named Henrik, Eclipse merc," she says. "When he and his goons attacked me and Briggs, I called for Redrock's help. We killed all his goons, but Henrik got away with a gunshot wound. This place is a magnet for assholes without pretenses, so he must have come through here." She leans forward a bit. "If you tell me where to

find him, our business ends here and now," she offers, "but if I have to go back, concede defeat and write in my report why my investigation failed... then it's up to them how they'll go about this."

Quinn glances off to the side the moment Henrik's name is mentioned. "Never heard of him." he says over her as if a kneejerk reaction from years of practiced deniability. His gaze moves to a point on his desk as he listens to her finish what she's saying. The last time Redrock got involved it costed him a lot of money and it's pretty apparent by the look on his face and the tightly clenched jaw that he's carefully considering what's

being said. "I don't do favors. You want something from me? Then I get something from you." he finally says. That impish grin returns as he finally returns his gaze to Renala's eyes. "That's how business works."

Renala raises an eyebrow. "So you've never heard of him, but you still have something to offer me?" she says with a grin. "I'd say not being on Redrock's to-do list is an acceptable offer." She stands up, still believing that she has the upper hand here. Redrock's faced much worse odds than whatever mercs Quinn can pay, after all. "So what will I tell Mr. Wolfe when he knocks on my office door later today?" she

asks.

Quinn stares up at Renala for a moment, his grin never fading. "I don't care what you tell him, sweetheart. But what you're asking me to do? Rat on a client?' he gives a coy little tilt of his head, "Not that this Henrik guy is a client- but if he was? What would people think if they found out I gave him up?" Nevermind the fact that Quinn is well known as a rat and a snake. "Nah. For me to risk my reputation like that I'm gonna

need a little more. But it's your lucky day. Ya see, I know all about you. What you do. And Eddie here? Well, he's great with a gun, but he's not the brightest bulb..." he continues, leaning over to open a drawer, "...So I figure there might be a little something you can do for me." He produces an omni-tool from his drawer and tosses it atop his desk before sitting back in his seat. "I've got someone really interested in finding

out what's on that thing. Needs it cracked in the next ten hours. I'll give you six. And if you bring it back to me unlocked?" he shrugs his shoulders, his grin widening, "...Hell, that just might jog something loose about this-... what was it? Henry?"

Eddie, once again, seems very unphased by Quinn's petty insults and backhanded remarks.

Renala cracks a small smile. "If I wasn't so used to working with inconsistency on a daily basis...." She chuckles and reaches out for the omni-tool. "Consider it done," she says as she takes it. "I don't even want the details."

Quinn's grin grows ever wider. After a moment of basking in what he considers a victory, he snaps his fingers and points to Eddie. "You heard her. Call up the plateface. Tell him he can swing by tonight and pick it up." He returns his attention to Renala, leaning forward in his seat and clapping his hands before rising to his feet. "See this? Us working together? Talking out our differences? Wonderful." he says in that particularly

condescending, patronising way he has. He glances towards the omni-tool in her hand, "You just make sure that whatever is on that? Stays on it. No copies."

Eddie finally responds to one of Quinn's statements. It's a simple, sharp nod of his head.

Renala chuckles and pockets the omni-tool. She ignores everything else he says, not having any respect for this little shit. "You don't need to tell me twice," she says. "Finding out what weird shit a stranger is into got old centuries ago." She still need to glance at the occasional file to validate that she completely unlocked it, but she leaves that out of the discussion. She grabs her jacket and starts

walking towards the door.

Eddie joins her to escort her back out, but she goes otherwise unimpeded during her exit. Aside from some dirty looks from Molly, of course.

Renala gives Molly a smirk and wink on her way out, but other than that, she causes no harm to the establishment or its staff. When outside, she slots the biotic amplifier back into place, puts on her jacket and starts on her way back to the agency's office.
