Steve is laying across the couch watching TV. He's done what he can to take Halisi's advice to heart. No pushing his limits. He's dressed in a pair of sweat pants. The house has, obviously, been picked up since the massacre. The damage from the shots fired hasn't been repaired yet, however.

Renala arrives home about an hour after her meeting with Quinn, though she did not let Steve know exactly when she went there. Which could have been a grave mistake had it gone completely south. With a sigh, she closes the door behind her and goes to take off her winter jacket. "At least our landlord hasn't thrown us out yet," she says.

Steve pulls himself up slightly to glance in the general direction of the door. "Gonna cost me, though." he says, relaxing back into a laying position and folding his hands atop on another over his chets as he looks to the screen. "I'll have someone drop by and patch the wall up next week."

Renala hangs up her jacket and walks over to the couch. She's wearing a plain red top with a large neckhole and simple black pants. "Maybe we can get Henrik to pay for it," she says, dropping into the couch beside him. "Quinn seems to have some information, but in return he wants what I could find on an omni-tool he gave me. That was easy." She frowns. "Problem is, I don't trust the guy, so how should I go

about this?" she asks. "You know him better than I do."

Steve swings his legs off the couch with a grunt to give Renala room to sit down and then gives a shrug of his shoulders. "Of course he has information. That slimeball always has information. Can't say I trust the lil' shit any more than you do. I do trust that he's a greedy fucker, though. If he wanted you to get him some info-..." he nods, giving the asari a sidelong glance, "...then you can bet your ass there's credits in

it for him. He'd sell his own mother down the river for the right payout." He reaches for his omni-tool to lower the volume on the TV and sits back. "So I figure that means you've got leverage. If that information is valuable to him then I don't think he's gonna risk fuckin' with you over it."

Renala chuckles. "He didn't give me the impression of a principled businessman, that's true," she says. "And it gets better, he subcontracted it, so there's probably something terrible in it for him if he doesn't get the data." She brings up her omni-tool, tapping on it to bring up the messages and contact information across multiple projected 'screens'. That's one of the rules broken already, but the asari

mentions nothing of that. "He gave me six hours, and I have about five left," she says. "Most of which was spent shaking off Atana and walking here. For someone that uses a disposable omni-tool, this 'T' is not very concerned with information security."

Steve scoots closer to get a look at the screens, craning his neck a bit to read it. After a few moments of silently looking over the exchange he furrows his brow and settles back into his seat. "Military grade." he repeats the line from the messages aloud, "Sounds like someone is in the market for some high grade weaponry. Guess if it's a big haul that info could be worth a few credits to someone with the hardware to swoop in and

take it for themselves." He gives a shrug of his shoulders. "Whoever it is, it doesn't sound like he's too good at his job. Prolly signed a death warrant for his friends." he adds, seemingly unperturbed by the fact that handing that omni-tool over very well might seal someone's fate.

Renala sighs. "Yeah, whoever Quinn is dealing with is probably not going to tolerate mishandling of the data," she says, "but I still need to ensure he'll keep up his end if I hand it over. Tampering with the data is a trivial matter, but he's got an even easier way: lying." She looks away from the screens and at Steve. "We can't let Henrik get away," she says, "so should I prepare some retaliation if his

information gets us nowhere?"

Steve gives a sigh as his gaze lowers. "I don't know, Ren... Even if he does tell us and it ain't a lie, what's to say he ain't just gonna tip Henrik off before we get there?" He falls silent for a moment, mulling it over in his head. With another pained grunt, he grabs on to the side of the couch to lift himself to his feet. "Guess the only way we can be sure is if Quinn has a stake in us comin' back. I'll get dressed. Let him

know you got the info for him and you'll hand it over once we've confirmed his intel on Henrik ain't a pile of varren shit. That gives us, what'd you say? Five hours to follow up on whatever intel Quinn can send our way and get the omni-tool back to him?"

Renala gives a nod at first, then frowns. "Are you sure about that?" she says, looking up at him. "I like your plan, and I'd prefer to keep the agency out of it, but who knows when Quinn's going to completely lose his sanity." She shuts off her omni-tool, but keeps the data on it.

Steve gives a shake of his head. "Sure? Hell no. But, like I said, Ren. I trust his greed more than I trust him. So long as you got somethin' he needs, you may as well have a leash around his neck. And he can talk all the shit he wants, but the bottom line is he's a bottom feeder. A coward. He knows Redrock would body him and his whole crew in the blink of an eye if somethin' happened to you that led back to him."

Renala gives a short hum. "I tried to appeal to cowardice after he gave away that he knew my real name, actually; didn't work out very well," she says. "Maybe this client terrifies him more than Redrock." She stands up and starts walking over to the clothes rack by the exit. "What firepower does he have to his name anyway?" she asks. "Does the krogan still work for him?"

Steve gives a nod as he begins to follow Renala away from the couch and towards his room. "Wrend? Yeah. But that's pretty much the only card he's got to play as far as I know. Guessin' he's prolly got a few associates I'd rather not get on the bad side of, but I wouldn't worry too much 'bout Quinn himself. Like I said, he's a coward." As he reaches his room, he places a hand on the doorframe and glances back at Renala. "So long as

we get the information he wants back in his hands, I wouldn't be too worried."

Renala nods. "I need to go back to the office to gear up first though," she says, "because I'm not going to catch him off-guard again like last night." She grabs the jacket and begins putting it on. "The omni-tool is there too, but it's going to stay there until Henrik is dealt with."

Steve pats the doorframe with a nod. "Sounds like a plan." he says before stepping into his room. "Send me a message with where to meet you." he calls out as he begins to collect his things from his dresser.
