#VVApartment – January 2, 2018
Va'ynna wakes up at around 4:30am, at least half an hour before her usual time, due to a beeping notification on her omni-tool. She has set her omni-tool to not beep at her during the night unless it's from a short list of senders. Va'ynna rolls over and sits up on the bedside, hoping to shield Victoria as much as possible from the orange glow of the omni-tool while she checks the message. She's wearing her typical
Victoria simples rolls over, to face away from Va'ynna and mumbles something in her sleep. So far it seems that the beeping from the omni-tool had not waken her fully yet.
Va'ynna frowns and crawls back under the blankets, trying to stealthily snuggle up against Victoria. She's tired, so every ounce of sleep she can get she'll take.
Victoria mumbles again, with Va'ynna snuggling up against her it wakes her a little more. Vicky gives a yawn, "Was that... your alarm?" She asks in her still half asleep state.
Va'ynna sighs as the stealth fails, and pushes her nose against Victoria's neck. "Was... message from Uvena," she says. "Li... -- someone has taken her and most of Redrock has gone after them." She closes her eyes, holding back tears. "Who would do such a thing?"
Victoria still being in her half asleep state, it takes her a minute or two to process what Va'ynna said. "Wait what?" It takes her a couple of more minutes to think the situation over in her head, Jason has probably already led the charge to get Li back. "Okay, I'm sure Jason has already found her and made her kidnappers pay."
Va'ynna has nearly fallend alseep when Victoria finally answers, and a tear is rolling down her cheek. "It was... just three hours ago," she murmurs. "They're off-world, so... I don't believe that."
Victoria remains silent, she did not know what to say to that. She rolls back over to face Va'ynna and just holds the asari, knowing that Va'ynna is quite fragile with her feelings.
Va'ynna shifts down and buries her head just below Victoria's neck, sobbing into her shirt. "You... you don't understand," she mumbles, which might be hard to understand. "We... had so much fun, I was... I was her sqwuh.... scurr... -el?" She takes a deep breath. "Why would anyone do such a thing?" she asks again.
Victoria is silent as Va'ynna cries and mumbles, she does not understand how Va'ynna feels at the moment, but she was going to be here to comfort the asari. "There are some horrible in this galaxy. But I know for sure, that Jason, Ilyna and the others will get her back." She tried to comfort Va'ynna the best she could.
Va'ynna gives an affirmative, albeit sad hum. "I... I... know," she says. She gives a frustrated sigh and pulls away from Victoria, moving to sit on the bedside. "Uvena has asked for the day shift, so... maybe I'll get to ask her about it."
Victoria reaches out and plants her hand on Va'ynna's back. "How about we go back to sleep, you don't want to be tired for work." She knew that neither of them could do anything now.
Va'ynna shakes her head, and looks down to the floor. "It's not even half an hour left, and... and I can't sleep now," she says. As much as she could use the extra rest, she was a mess right now and it was unlikely she was going to get any.
Victoria sat up from the bed and moved next to Va'ynna. She was wearing the usual long pants and t-shirt she normally worn while sleeping. She put an arm around Va'ynna's shoulder. "If you need a shoulder to cry on, I'm here."
Va'ynna shakes her head again. "No, I... I don't-...." She stands up and walks over to the cupboard. "I... I only hurt people, and... and now... now I may not see them again." She slips out of her nightdress, and starts folding it. The asari is only wearing her underpants underneath.
Victoria stands up and walks over to Va'ynna. She wraps her arms around the asari. "You have never once hurt me. Why do you think you only hurt people?" Vicky wanted to know what she is talking about hurting people.
Va'ynna is about to turn and walk out when she's hugged from behind. "The wedding, don't... you remember?" she says. "I just... said the wrong words, did... the wrong things." She takes a deep, shaking breath. "Let... go, I-I'll be fine."
Victoria was not letting go of Va'ynna. She forces the asari towards the wall and turns her around, so they are facing on another. "Va'ynna, look at me when I say this. Sometimes people fuck up, either by doing something horrible, or saying something." She looks Va'ynna in the eyes. "Everybody fucks up every now and again. You can't just walk away from me acting like this and saying you are fine. Remember what I use to
Va'ynna looks defensive as she's backed against the wall, and she tries pushing her away at first. She relets, and turns her head to look down at the floor between them. "I'm sorry," she whispers. "I... I'm sorry." That she's almost naked in front of Victoria is the least of her worries right now; not that she has anything to hide from her. A tear rolls down her cheek.
Victoria realises what she is doing is quite aggressive, she lets go of Va'ynna and wipes the tear away from her cheek. "No, I'm sorry. I should not have done that." She continues looking at Va'ynna. "I'm sorry, but you need to talk to me. You are clearly not fine, please."
Va'ynna lets out a long sigh, still not looking up. "Of course I'm... not fine," she says. "I'm tired, work... is hard, and now my friends are away on some dangerous mission. And you can't forget... that Jason is still looking for the people that took me."
Victoria puts her hand on Va'ynna's cheek. "Call in sick to work. Stay here, catch up on sleep and I shall be at your side all day." She did not try to her Va'ynna's gaze, she allowed her to do what she wanted here.
Va'ynna shakes her head. "I'm not a liar," she says, and slips away from Victoria. She walks out of the room and towards the bathroom.
Victoria shakes her head as Va'ynna leaves the room. Vicky takes a seat on the bed, and buries her face in her hands. She was hating herself for being that aggressive with Va'ynna.
Va'ynna doesn't close the door behind her as she enters the bathroom. She walks up to the sink and starts splashing water in the her face while taking deep breaths. It wasn't long ago she had a day off, but she's already looking forward to the next -- whenever that'll be.
Victoria stands up from the bed and begins to look for clothes for the day. She stops after a moment, and makes her way to Va'ynna. She waited in the doorway of the bathroom, waiting for Va'ynna to be done washing her face.
