Uvena is quick to move into vacated territory, pulling Va'ynna closer. The hesitation in her daughter is not lost on her, though the reason may be. Is she embarrased to show the contents off now while all eyes are on her? "It's okay, Va'ynna," she says. "You don't need to go through it right now."

Va'ynna gives a low hum. "No, it's... it's... it's just," she begins with a mutter. The feelings of guilt are overwhelming and for a moment she wants to tell her everything. Why Renala would have done the hard work. On the other hand, she fears the ramifications of that coming to light. She sighs. "Thank you, Uvena," she says. "I'll... I'll look through the drawings later."
Victoria smirks to herself at the scene playing out in front of her, Vicky was going to remain silent until pictures are mentioned. "Guess I will be looking over your shoulder while you do that." The smirk remaining on her face.
Sarah just sat there with a smile on her face, opting not to interupt the moment between the mother and daughter.
Va'ynna shakes her head, but she can't help but let out a small amused snort. "No you won't," she murmurs, glancing up at Victoria.
Uvena gives her another squeeze before letting go of the side hug, relinquishing her back to Victoria. "Don't worry, I'll keep her occupied with an old photo album," Uvena says with a grin as she looks past Va'ynna at Victoria.
Victoria smirk turns into a grin as she looks at Uvena. "Is this the old photo album with the baby photos? The one I'm not allowed to look at?" The grin remaining on her face as she teases Va'ynna. "Because I would love to see those."
Sarah looks between Uvena and Victoria at the mention of baby photos, feeling a chance to catch her sister off guard and give Va'ynna a chance to strike back. "If you give me some time, Va'ynna. I might be able to dig up some old photos of my sister."
Va'ynna closes her eyes for a moment before putting her device on the table. "You're... awful," she says with a glance to her immediate left and right. It does provide sufficient distraction to put her mind off the guilt. "I... wouldn't want to see them, it wouldn't be fair," she says, before looking up at Sarah and adding a stage whisper of, "I'll get back to you."
Uvena observes what she has wrought and leans back with a grin. "I know," she says in response to Va'ynna. When Va'ynna's attention is off of her, she nods to Victoria.
Victoria turns her attention to her sister for a moment with a questioning look before goes back to grinning at Va'ynna. "You bet I am." She notices Uvena give her a nod and she nods back. "Why don't you open a gift, sis?"
Sarah smiles and nods at Va'ynna. "I'm sure I can find something embarrassing photo." She turns her attention to Victoria and gives her a nod. She begins to open the gift she received from Uvena.
Va'ynna flashes a tight-lipped smile before she follows Victoria's attention towards the next gift to be opened.
Uvena notices Victoria nodding back to her, pleased that Va'ynna hasn't been told about that time where she showed off the early fruits of Renala's hard work. Maybe that would have ruined the surprise.
The black wrapping paper gives way to a plastic-wrapped cardboard box of confections. It's an Illium-based, but human-owned brand. While it's mass produced, it probably wasn't cheap on this world. The packaging does try to give off the air of luxury, however, describing the different pieces with flowery language.
Uvena looks up at Sarah after she unwraps her present. "I suppose it's not the best call to gift candy to the healthcare professional," she says with a laugh in her voice, "but what else do you get for someone you haven't yet met?"
Victoria opts to remain silent while her sister opens her gift. Vicky puts her arm around Va'ynna waist, and pulls her into a quick side hug.
Sarah looks up at Uvena and smiles at her. "Thank you very much, Uvena." She leaves the box on her lap. "I mean, I do have a little bit of a sweet tooth. So this will keep my sweet tooth satisfied for quite a while."
Uvena returns the smile. "Well, in that case, you're welcome," she says. "You had me worried, since you did not even entertain the thought of trying the cookies earlier." The tone in her voice is light-hearted.
Va'ynna gives Uvena a suspicious glance before leaning into Victoria's hug. She looks down at the wrapped gift in her lap, the one from Victoria, but she does not open it yet.
Victoria picks up another one of her gifts, this one from her sister and sits it in her lap. "How about I go again? That way we are all down to one gift each. Any objections to that?"
Sarah gives a slight chuckle. "Yeah, did not even think about touching those cookies. Not at all, nope." It was obivous she was lying about not having a cookie. She turns her attention to her sister. "It's either that or let Uvena open her gift."
Uvena nods to Victoria before reaching for one of the aforementioned cookies. "Sounds like a plan, Victoria," she says. She takes a tentative bite to pretend that she hasn't already tried this cookie before
Va'ynna looks up at Sarah with a raised eyebrow. Is she worried about how the gift may come across? It's a concern the asari is most familiar with. Regardless, she leans back in her seat a bit, trying not to squeeze Victoria's arm too hard, and looks down at the gift she's about to open.
Victoria gives a nod to Uvena and then proceeds to open the gift she got from her sister. She unwraps the wrapping by tearing the sticky tape away and remove the wrapping carefully. It is a small black rectangular box, she opens the box to reveal a silver necklace, Va'ynna would notice that the charm attached the the chain looks the partically identical to Vicky's gift for her sister.
Sarah watches her sister open up the gift. Upon hearing her sister, she raises a questioning brow wondering what she is talking about.
