#Leah'sHouse – February 17, 2022

Crux remains frozen in disbelief for a second, but then she catches herself, full attention returning to the bleeding batarian as she does her best to keep pressure on the wound. "Hang in there, RC..." she mumbles.

Leah's assumption proves correct - the turian's hardsuit contains a full canister of medigel. It didn't do him much good without his helmet on.

Tara soon appears around the corner, eyes wide and face full of worry and questions. Zoe is clutched tightly in her arms.

Francois is a little breathless and colored by a healthy mix of worry and panic as he hurries down the hall, shotgun clutched by the barrel in one hand. Placing a hand on Tara's shoulder as soon as he reaches her, he meets her eyes. "Leah-... She needs her omni-tool. She-... she said it's in the pocket of her jacket." he explains, "Do you know where she left it?"

Leah lifts the canister, giving it a quick once over to make sure it's not empty. "Found it!" she calls out to the nameless woman, shooting a glance her way. She hurries back to the pair, rounding the downed batarian to stand on the side opposite of the woman. Those survival instincts of hers are still in full swing and she makes sure to use the inside of her boot to sweep the Vindicator that's laying on the ground beside RC out

of reach before dropping to her knees beside him.

Tara blinks, a bewildered look on her face. It takes her a moment to process the question but then she nods sharply and hurries off to Leah's room. She emerges a couple of seconds later with omni-tool in hand. Zoe has been left behind in the room, door closed. She holds up the device for Francois to see, attention shifting to the front of the house, obviously ready to deliver it herself. See that Leah is okay.

Crux lets out a breath, corner of her mouth briefly pulling back in something that might've been a smile if the situation was less dire. She nods a few times, waiting for Leah to settle on the other side of RC and meeting her gaze to make sure she's ready before discarding her bloodsoaked beanie and pushing as many of the batarian's layers as possible aside to give Leah better access to the wound. Red has permeated the front of all

his clothes. It seems only one shot made it through his vest, but he's bleeding badly - it must've hit an artery.

Leah's room is neat and tidy, as per usual (At least when she's not suffering a fashion crisis). Her jacket is laid over the backrest of the chair to her desk, omni-tool in the pocket, just as expected.

Francois seems to catch Tara's intention as she looks past him, his own gaze briefly turning back down the hall. "It's dangerous, sweetheart." he explains, bringing a hand up to collect the omni-tool. "There's glass everywhere and-..." he trails off, swallowing at the lump in his throat and shaking his head as he tries to shield the young woman from the grisly picture that lies beyond the front door. Truth be told, given the

things Tara has seen- the things she's endured- it's probably her that should be shielding him. But he can't possibly know that. Not really. He just wants to protect his family. "...someone should stay with Zoe. Make sure she isn't frightened." he continues, holding her gaze as he speaks, as if this is an important job. Hoping to cut off any protests before she can voice them, he's quick to ask, "You were able to

contact Redrock...?"

Leah's green eyes meet the woman opposite of her, offering a small nod to let her know she's ready. As soon as the clothing is nudged aside she gets right to work, using the medigel to seal the wound with a healthy coating. She's no expert, but there is a certain practiced precision with which she works. No nerves. "This should help with the bleeding, but it looks like one of the rounds might've nicked an artery, so this is only a

short-term measure." she explains as she works, "He's gonna need real medical attention. I should be able to get someone out here, but that's gonna take time. So I-... I need to know-..." she continues, gaze seeking out the woman across from her briefly. "...are there any more? Is anyone else coming?" she asks, trying to get whatever intel out of her would-be assailant as she can. If there's a second assault coming, she

needs to know. And right now, RC's survival depends on it as much as hers.

Tara frowns, looking reluctant to stay indoors, her worry apparent, but she's not exactly one to argue, and the mention of Zoe makes her glance back towards Leah's room. Her attention snaps back to Francois when she hears his question, and she shakes her head. "It won't work." she says, handing him the omni-tool with a little bit of lingering reluctance.

Crux nods along with Leah's words, gaze lingering on RC, but the question makes her look up and meet her gaze. She swallows and shakes her head. "Uh-... no. No, it was just us." she says, voice a little hollow. Overwhelmed.
