#Leah'sHouse – February 21, 2022

Francois lets out a breath, more concern entering his features, but he gives a few small nods. "Well, hopefully Leah will have better luck than we have." he sighs as he accepts the omni-tool. It hasn't taken long for the cold outside to begin finding its way in with the living room window broken and the front door wide open, kicking the small home's heating system into overdrive. He gives the young woman an appreciative pat on the

shoulder before taking a step back, both eager to get back to Leah but not wanting to just run off on Tara. "...Everything is going to be alright, sweetheart." he assures her, though his own uncertainty and worry does little to sell it, "I'll-... be right back, okay?"

Leah seems to breathe a sigh of relief, offering a nod in turn. She makes sure to cinch the wound closed with her fingers as best as she can as she slathers the viscous gel across it. With the most obvious wound dealt with, she begins to search for any additional wounds. First with her eyes, then with blood-soaked fingertips. With this much blood it can be hard to assess the damage, like looking for a pinprick in a bloody marsh. A

fact that quickly sets in, causing her to scoop up the discarded beanie just to have something to wipe away the blood with. Given that it, too, is already soaked in blood, she's doing more 'smearing' than 'wiping away', but it's letting her see some skin and that's all that matters. "My name is Leah, by the way." she offers quietly, gaze remaining on RC, scanning across his midsection as she speaks, looking for any sign of

bleeding. It's information the woman surely knows, but that's not the point. The point is to get a rapport going to help alleviate the young woman's nerves that are so obviously frayed. To keep her from shutting down. Keep her focused on the task at hand.

Tara doesn't exactly look reassured, but she nods regardless, remaining where she is for the moment, not yet heading back to Zoe.

Crux nods several times, her eyes back on RC as she watches Leah check his injuries. While it's not exactly easy to tell with all the blood, it seems that none of the other shots did more than bruise him. "Yeah... I-... Crux. I'm Crux." she says quietly.

Francois looks like he has more he wants to say, but Leah is waiting on him and it didn't seem like he had time to burn. So, with a small apologetic dip of his head, he reluctantly starts back down the hall.

Leah draws in a breath once it seems as if she's stemmed the flow of blood, nodding in acknowledgement of the woman's introduction. "Well, Crux, your friend did the right thing." she says, though you'd never know it by looking at the batarian splayed out on the ground, covered in his own blood. But given the bodies strewn around the battlefield, Crux no doubt understands that this could have been worse. Much worse. Leah looks over

her work for a moment. The medigel might not be applied as cleanly as a hardsuit's internal systems could've done, but it should buy the batarian some time. Right now, that's the best they can hope for. "He made a choice..." she continues, finally tearing her green eyes away from the wounded batarian and looking back to Crux, "...and it's a choice that probably saved your life. I'm not gonna let him die for doing the right

thing, okay?" She tries to mask the frustration that comes with her words but it slips out in the form of a sigh under her breath. Frustration over even being put in this situation. These people came to do her harm, after all. But, despite that, there's sincerity in her assurance, too.

Tara 's gaze turns towards the front door and the glass shards scattered across the floor one more time before turning around and hurrying back to Leah's room to make sure Zoe is okay.

Crux manages to tear her attention away from RC once the bleeding has been halted, meeting Leah's gaze again. It takes her a moment to process her words, but then she glances down at him again and swallows before grabbing his hand and giving it a squeeze. She nods again as she looks back to the woman they were hired to go after. She manages a quiet, uncomfortable "Thank you.", gaze darting away as she utters the words.
