#IlynaApartment – March 19, 2025

Morning of January 4th. The weather outside is calm as the first signs of the sun starts showing up above the houses across the street.

Ilyna is currently preparing some sandwiches in the kitchen for breakfast, looking a bit lost in thought. She's wearing a knee-length casual dress and plain gray pants underneath. She's recently showered, so a small towel is wrapped around her crests.

((*14th))

Li is in her pajamas, sitting on the floor in front of the TV, putting her new set of coloring pencils to good use drawing while Super Centurion plays on the screen. The pad, being the more portable option, has mostly been what she's brought to the Redrock building the past couple of weeks, while good old paper continues to rule at home.

Ilyna plates the sandwiches (white bread, butter, space cow cheese, cold meat slice and some leafy green) and puts them on the table. "Li," she says, looking over at her. "I'm going to go see Halisi at the hospital later today. Will you be okay with being at work alone for a moment?"

Li chimes in with an "Aff-irmative!" without looking up from her drawing.

Ilyna returns to the fridge to grab some orange juice which she pours a glass of for Li, opting just for a glass of water for herself. "Jason is there, and V...Linda is back now, so you won't be without anyone to keep an eye on you," she continues to assure as she puts the two glasses on the table. "Breakfast is served."

Li nods absently as she keeps on drawing, but the call to breakfast quickly draws her attention, and both pen and paper are left behind as she jump up to take her seat at the kitchen table, immediately going for her sandwich.

Ilyna briefly brings up her omni-tool to lower the volume on the screen before sitting down at the table herself, relaxing a bit as her announced departure is met with no protest or questioning. "So, what's on the schedule today?" she asks before picking up her own sandwich.

Li 's face lights up a little. "I'm gonna learn beach clearing! Jason said he would and it's been days!" Practice with her new toy guns - which seem to have made their home at the base, thankfully - has become a recurring feature after Christmas, although it's been a little while since the last time Jason's been able to join her. Surely today must be the day?

Ilyna listens to Li talk with a small smile. "I'm sure he'll have more time now that Linda is back," she says, hopefully not getting her hopes up in vain. While teaching this to a young child might be odd, it's not so to an asari with a lot of turians in her family. Not to mention that Li will grow up around a lot of combatants. "What do you know about beach clearing already?" She takes a bite of her sandwich.

Li 's answer is delayed slightly by a big bite of sandwich, but soon enough words come. "Mghave to stand next to the door like this!" she says, getting up from her seat to showcase her best 'about to breach a door' stance. Very tactical.

Ilyna nods at her highly tactical stance, though she's unsure about how it pertains to a beach environment. Maybe that was a translation error. "And what do you do if the enemy is inside and know you're there?" she asks to probe her imagination more than anything, as it lacks a lot of necessary context.

Li frowns, arms dropping to her sides. "I dunno," she admits after a moment, returning to her seat for a sip of juice, still pondering. She'll have to ask Jason.
