Victoria walks down into the bar from her upstairs room, she takes a seat at the bar and orders herself rum and coke.
#Miner'sRespite – October 8, 2013
Jason enters the Respite through the front door dressed in a pair of black cargo pants and a long sleeved shirt. He remains at the entrance for a moment, looking around the place, taking in the layout. A smile comes to his lips as a sense of nostalgia overcomes him. He approaches the bar just as Victoria places her order and leans against the counter beside her. "Make that two." he says, grabbing the bartenders attention.
Victoria looks at the new human arrival "Buying a woman a drink out of the kindness of your heart?" She looked him up and down, wondering why he would just walk in and get her a drink.
Jason raises an eyebrow and shakes his head. "What? I'm not-... No. Pay for your own drink." he says, "Oh how I've missed the Terminus Systems. Already have people trying to take my credits."
Jason stares at the woman for a moment with a confused expression on his face before looking around the room. "Hate to break it to ya, but you're still in the Terminus." He nods towards her stool, "That seat right there? In the Terminus Systems." He knocks on the counter with a single knuckle, "This counter? In the Terminus." He slides his credit chit to the bartender as he recieves his drink. "This drink?" he says with a smirk, raising the glass in front of his face, "Still in the Terminus." he says, taking a long swig.
Victoria shakes her head and receives her drink "Not what I mean. I am stuck on a planet in the Terminus." She takes a quick swig of her drink "I use to be able to go where I wanted in the Terminus, not stuck on a planet and running low on credits."
Jason sets his drink down and finally takes a seat on the stool beside him. "So?" he asks, "What's keeping you here?"
Victoria takes another swig of her drink "Number 1, I don't have a ship anymore. Number 2, I need to lay low for sometime."
Jason swivels in his seat to face the woman. "What happened to it? Forget where you parked it?" he jokes, taking another sip of his drink.
"Funny. But I am not that stupid." She looked at her glass "My crew threw me off my ship, because I was too kind but not kind enough to let them sleep with me."
Jason laughs loudly to himself. "What kind of business were you in where your crew expected their captain to sleep with them!?" he asks, leaning an elbow against the counter and propping up his head in his hand.
Victoria shakes her head "Laugh it up. But put one woman captain on a ship that a majority of the crew being male, they get ideas." Taking a final swig of her drink.
Jason shrugs and takes another swig of his drink. "Not much of a story here. Putting together a freelance agency and Aite seemed like the place to do it. Plenty of opportunities for work here." he says and gives a nod to a couple of people arguing in the corner, "Plus, everyone's so damn friendly out here in the Terminus." he adds with a chuckle.
Jason waves a hand dismissively. "Nah, that's not my area. More of a hands-on type, myself. The hiring is handled by someone else."
Victoria | "Well, can I know who that person is. So I know who I have to go to for work." She said as she leaned on the counter.
Jason shifts in his seat to better face the woman. "We're still getting situated right now. Nothing's set in stone yet, but if you want to give me your contact info, I could pass it along if anything comes up. Could be a little while."
Victoria opens her Omni-tool and sends over her contact info to the human. "There you go. Oh and my name is Victoria."
Jason removes his omni-tool from the pocket on his cargo pants and starts it up, causing it to project a screen over his forearm. After a few button presses, he begins looking over the info. "Victoria Steels, huh?" he asks, reading her name aloud, "Sounds like you might want to consider changing that to Victoria Is-Stolen-From after that whole ship incident, eh?" he asks, peering at the woman from behind the screen as he laughs at his own bad joke.
Jason stifles his laughter abruptly. "Whatever..." he mutters as he taps a few buttons, sending his contact info over in return and allowing the haptic interface to dissipate. "So," he sighs, returning the omni-tool to his pocket, "Is it safe to assume that you know how to pilot a ship?"
Victoria nods "It would be. Shuttles and most of the bigger ships." She looks at his contact information "So if you ever need a pilot who can fight Mr Wolfe, you don't need to look far."
Jason nods and smiles. "Not a bad thing to have on hand. I'm sure we'll be needing a pilot once we get everything worked out." he says before draining the last of his drink. "Like I said, it might be a while, but I'll pass your info along to the boss-lady."
Victoria nods at Jason "Thanks, this seems like my best hope to get back into flying my own ship again."
Jason shrugs, "Maybe... But it's probably best that you don't get your hopes up. Everything I'm involved in seems to have the tendency to fall apart... Or blow up." he says, stopping for a moment to think about it. "Usually blow up." he confirms.
Jason chuckles to himself. "Suppose it depends on the explosion." he says, rising from his stool, "I'm gonna get going. Just wanted to stop in and check out the local watering hole. Figured I might as well make sure it's up to snuff if I'm going to be spending a lot of time around here." He looks around the room, nodding to himself. "So I guess I'll see you around?"
