#RedrockAgency – January 14, 2014

The directions Victoria was given would take her to a large warehouse a short distance outside of Freedom Falls. The old building would look abandoned were it not for a large hispanic man standing atop a ladder in front of the door, attempting to hang a large, heavy looking sign as a smaller woman stands down below, watching and giving orders. The sign has a simple logo with the words 'Redrock Agency' below it.

Victoria walks up to the smaller woman "Hey, I'm here from my interview." She was wearing long pants, and a black t-shirt.

Vasquez puts a finger up, signalling the approaching woman to wait her turn. "A little to the left, Mendez." she says without taking her eyes off the sign. "That should be fine" she says once the sign has been maneuvered into an acceptable position. She turns to face Victoria. A large scar, from her ear to her mouth, stretches across the left side of her face, and she seems to favor her left leg. "Now, what can I help you with?"

"Here for my job interview. I got a message to come here."

Vasquez places her hands behind her back and gives the woman a stern nod. "Ms. Steels, I assume?" she says, but doesn't wait for confirmation. "Right inside. Someone will take care of you." she adds before swiftly turning her attention back to the sign.

"Thanks." She said as she went inside of the building.

The door leads to a large open lobby. A few chairs and a receptionist's desk are the only things in the barren room aside from some boxes against the wall.

Victoria walks up to the desk "Hello?"

Jason enters the room from a door behind the receptionist's desk carrying a box in his arms. He's wearing his usual blue-and-white hardsuit. He gives Victoria a nod as he spots her and sets the box among the others. "Glad you could make it." he says, dusting off his gauntlets before extending a hand towards the woman. "Have any trouble finding the place?"

Victoria gives Jason a handshake "None at all. So got yourself a decent little building."

Jason glances up towards the ceiling and puts his hands on his hips. "Yeah." he says with a nod, "It's not too bad. Gonna take a bit of work, but we'll get there." He turns in place and begins walking back towards the room he just came from. "So, is it safe to assume that, since you're here, you're still interested in a job?"

"Would be a smart thought." She said plainly and crossed her arms.

Jason peers back out through the door and raises an eyebrow. "Well? You coming?" he asks and disappears back through the door. "You were a few drinks deep the last time we spoke..." he chuckles, "But you made it sound like you're a pretty confident pilot. You have a lot of experience?"

Victoria follows Jason through the door. "Well yes, but it depends if you want to hear the legal or the illegal verison of my pilot background."

The door leads to a large room with two rows of desks. On the opposite wall is a large screen. Boxes of all sizes litter the room making it clear that things are still being moved around and unpacked.

Jason continues through the room towards another door on the right-hand side of the room. He shakes his head and lets out a short laugh. "Let's stick to the basics. I don't need any details." he says.

Victoria follows Jason "Well alright then, legal basic verison is I can fly anything decent."

Jason presses a panel beside the door, causing it to slide open. He stops and swings around the face the woman. "Where'd you learn to fly?" he asks, standing in the doorway, leaning one hand against the frame.

"An asari told me everything I know." She answered honestly.

Jason raises an eyebrow and studies the woman for a moment. "Fair enough, I suppose..." he says, turning back around and traveling through the door. "I'm not one to question someone else's credentials, but asking someone to entrust you with their life while you basing their assessment of your abilities on the statement 'an asari taught me' is a bit much. I'm sure you understand this..." he continues, walking through the next room with the woman in tow behind him, "So I have to ask... How do I know you're the real deal?"

The room they've entered is a large docking bay of sorts with large shuttle bay doors lining one wall. The room is mostly empty aside from a single corner littered with tools and industrial equipment. A beat up old Kodiak is propped up on stilts with a pair of legs sticking out from under it. The old shuttle is missing a large amount of its parts, including the doors. Some of the missing parts litter the floor around it, but most are missing entirely. To anyone with working eyesight it would appear to be a pile of junk.

"Well if I tell you a reason I can fly most ships. I just need to know if I tell you the real reason, it won't bite me in the ass." She simply said, she then looked at the shuttle "Um... gonna get that fixed soon?"

Jason stops a few feet away from the old wreck and looks back at Victoria. "Well... I guess that depends on what you mean by that. Why would it bite you in the ass?" he inquires, ignoring her second question for now. "If you're going to be working with us, you're going to be a part of a team, Vicky. Can I call you Vicky?" he asks but doesn't wait for a response, "I just need to know that we can trust you."

"Sure call me Vicky. Well, I am a former.... well pirate. But I was the one who piloted any ship my former crew had, since they were idiots." She stopped for a second and looked at the shuttle some more "And if I am hired you will have my complete loyalty. You have my words, which at the time being is the best I can offer."

Jason nods to himself a few times. "I guess that's going to have to be enough for now. Truth is, you're the only potential pilot I've talked to. So you're sort of my only option at the moment." he shrugs, sporting a big lopsided grin, "Everyone has a past. If there's one thing life has taught me, it's that there's plenty of good people with bad pasts... So the spot is yours if you want it, Vicky. Just don't make me regret it."

"Well of course I want the job. And I promise I won't let you down."

Jason nods a few more times and turns back to the run down old shuttle. "As for this old hunk of junk... Jasper here is working on getting it in working order." he says, nodding towards the pair of legs hanging out from beneath it. "It'll take a little time... But we'll get a nice coat of paint on this baby, put our logo on the side..." he nods, his smile growing as if he can already see it in his mind, "It'll be beautiful. So?" he asks, turning to face Victoria once again, "What do you think? Can you pilot it?"

"Shuttles ain't that hard. Depends on the type of flying you want me to do. For the right amount of money I could make it dance."

Jasper pulls himself out from under the Kodiak. He's sporting a pair of grease-smeared coveralls. With a bit of effort, the older man climbs back to his feet and adjusts his sports cap, leaving a small smudge of grease on the brim. "Why didn't you say we had such a pretty guest, Jay?" he asks, wiping his hands on his coveralls before offering one to Victoria. "Jasper."

Jason shakes his head and crosses his arms.

Victoria gives Jasper a handshake "Victoria, or as Jay here calls me, Vicky."

Jasper shakes the womans hand. "Well, Vicky. If I heard things right, it sounds like we'll be seeing a lot of each other." he says as he pulls a dirty towel from his back pocket and begins to absently wipe at the grease on his hands. "We'll get this ol' beaut' fixed up and tuned to your liking." he says with a proud nod as he pats one hand against the shuttle.

"And it is just you working on it? So it will being taking a while?" She presumed.

Jasper tilts his head to one side, then to the other, thinking about the question. "It's a project, that's for sure. But we'll get it done. You know your way around a toolbox?" he asks.

Jason gestures towards the parts laying around the shuttle. "We have a lot of the basics, but Jasper thought it would be best if you had a bit of input on the build before we picked up anything else. Weaponry, weight distribution... Stuff like that." he says, looking over the large amount of parts with a nod, "Make it your own, ya know?"

"I don't trust myself to repair most of this... I use to let an old friend deal with that. But I can give a helping hand for some of the basic stuff."

Jasper nods and adjusts his cap once again. "That's good enough." he says, offering the woman a smile before returning to his previous position beneath the shuttle.

Jason clanks a gauntleted hand against the shuttle before moving away from it. "So that's where we're at right now, Vicky. With any luck, we won't have to put your 'shuttle dancing skills' to the test." he teases, "But if it ever does come to that? It would be in everyones best interest if you knew this thing inside and out. So getting involved at an early stage of its repair is pretty important. At least that's what Jasper keeps telling me." he shrugs, "So, what do you say? Any questions? Concerns?"

"Well I am in is all I have to say, but apart from that I am in."

Jason 's grin returns as he nods a few times. "That's what I like to hear." he says, moving back towards the door they entered from, "Give me a few days to get the paperwork in order. In the meantime, you might want to do a little research. Look into some of the parts you'd like to see on the shuttle. We're on a budget, but Jasper will give you more details on all that once you're officially employed. Alright?"

"Fair enough. I will look into it. So that is it for now?"

Jason nods, waiting beside the door. "That's it for now." he repeats. "I'll get back to you when you can start. We're looking at a week, maybe two. Sound good?"

Victoria follows Jason "Sounds good to me."

Jason continues back through the next room and leads Victoria out through the lobby. Stopping just outside of the building, he looks up at the new sign and gives an approving nod. "Alright, Vicky. Looking forward to working with you." he says with a smile.

Vasquez turns to face the woman once again. "Welcome to Redrock Agency." she says matter-of-factly before returning her attention to the sign that she and Mendez are still fiddling with.

"Thanks for having me aboard. Won't let you down."
