#Miner'sRespite – January 6, 2014

Kim steps into the inn and glances around momentarily for any friendly faces. Finding none, she moves over towards the bar and slips herself into one of the stools. She's wearing fairly casual dress today and her hair is bunched up into a bun rather than her standard ponytail. She flags down a bartender after a moment and orders a fairly light drink.

Victoria walks down into the main area of the inn from the stairs. She is wearing a white tank top and long pants, her hair was hanging loose rather than being in a bun or ponytail. She does not recognises anyone she knows and walks to the bar, taking a spot near a woman with her hair in a bun.

Kim waits for the bartender to bring her a drink, then takes a sip and brings out a datapad. She fiddles with it for a moment, then stares at it thoughtfully. She shrugs after a few moments and puts away the datapad, then chugs down half of the drink in as few gulps as possible, then audibly lets out her breath as she brings the glass away from her mouth.

Victoria looks over at the woman "Needed a good drink I guess?"

Kim looks over to the woman who had just spoken to her and smirks. "Yeah, you could say that, I guess." She raises her glass in the air and states, "The best way to prepare for a family meeting is to make sure you can't remember anything else."

Victoria leaned on the bar and looked the woman up and down. She looks her back in the eyes and smirks "I think you might need some more, it will be better if you slur your words while speaking."

Kim laughs and places the glass down. "Can't say that's something I can do. I made a promise that I wouldn't get that drunk while we're here," she says with a somewhat suspicious lack of sadness to anyone who is paying attention to it. "Gotta make sure I can see straight at least."

Victoria continued with her leaning on the bar and looking at the woman "Or you could get someone to guide you around or act as support." She tries to get the bartender's attention "Family can be rough sometimes."

Kim shrugs. "I guess. Can't say I really feel that way, though." She ends with another swig from the glass, although this one is much smaller.

<+Victoria "So, what is your family like? I mean they gotta be somewhat bad if you gotta drink before seeing them." She asked, not knowing if she was skating on thin ice or not.

Kim sighs. "No, it's more what we're going to do. I was never interested in the 'finer arts', but there can't be anything here that would be anywhere near that level of quality." She drains the rest of her glass and slams it on the counter. "I was surprised this place even had anything resembling a museum. I'd have thought anyone here would have forgotten those kinds of places even exist... if they ever knew about it to begin with."

<+Victoria "Ah... so your family are those people who enjoy the 'finer' things in life. And you like things that are simply more fun than all that posh stuff. Right?" She manages to get the bartender's attention and orders herself a rum and coke.

Kim winks a response and glances towards the entrance before shifting back to rest her arm on the countertop.

<+Victoria Well glad I don't need to deal with my family anymore. Horrible people, raised a child who does not like the law that much aswell.

Kim raises an eyebrow, but doesn't try to get her to elaborate. She glances around at anyone who might be watching before responding. "That's not exactly something that is best said in a public setting where anyone can hear...," she states in a somewhat monotone voice. "I don't care either way what you think about the law, but I'd rather not see you in a news story about being imprisoned for something ridiculous tomorrow."

Victoria nods at her "Alright, I will make sure I won't run around the town naked then. Would not want to be arrested for such a horrible crime." She said jokingly and with a smile.

Kim snorts. "As long as I get to take pictures first."

<+Victoria "Of me running though the streets or before I go out and arrested?"

Kim puts on a surprised face. "Wouldn't you already know the answer to that? Pictures of someone running through the streets naked is a lot more interesting than pictures of someone naked when they're about to go do something interesting."

<+Victoria "Oh I don't know, sometimes the before shots can be good aswell. Espically if you use them in a certain way." She said in a teasing tone.

<+Baph|Kim "Oh? How so?" she asks with her best attempt at a clueless demeanor.

<+Victoria "Aww... that so cute. Trying to act all innocent." She smiled at the woman. "By the way, my name is Victoria."

Kim nods and hold out her hand. "Kim. Nice to meet you, Victoria." She quickly glances over to the doorway again when she hears the door open, but quickly loses interest in the entrant.

Victoria notices her looking at the door "So Kimmie, what is with the door, expecting someone?"

Kim blinks at the other woman, then realizes what she means. "Oh, yeah, I'm expecting my cousin. She should be here somewhat soon. Might introduce you two if she doesn't inside we go right away."

"Where you two plan on going?" She took a sip out of her drink realising she has not touched it yet.

Kim makes various nonsensical gestures with her hands. "We're going to meet up with the rest of us and go out to the museum we found completely by accident." She puts on a suspicious face now. "Come on, it wasn't that long ago that I told you about it."

<+Victoria "Yeah well, you two could have gone out before hand and get a few drinks before hand. I mean I would."

Kim shakes her head. "I promised I wouldn't get too drunk. I doubt they'd be very impressed if I couldn't even stand when they wanted to go.

<+Victoria "Oh... what a shame then. Would have been fun to see you drunk." She said jokingly.

Kim smirks and is about to formulate a response when the door to the inn opens. A younger woman with long brown hair and similar style casual dress to Kim's enters and immediately locks her attention on the two, walking over with a somewhat serious expression on her face.

Kim notices fairly quickly what is going on and abandons any attempt at answering, instead shifting her body to better face the newcomer. "Ah, here we go. Victoria, here is Elise, my cousin."

Victoria offers Elise a friendly hand shake "Hello Elise, how are you?" Trying to be as friendly as possible

Elise smiles softly with no small amount of uncertainty and grasps the hand after some hesitation. "Hi, I'm okay... how are you?"

Victoria smiles back at the new woman "Oh, I am fine. Just having a nice chat with your cousin here."

Kim stands up before Elise can respond and puts an arm around her shoulder. "Yep, a nice friendly little chat. Now, I wasn't getting drunk or anything. That was my only drink I've had this night, so I can still think for myself."

Elise sighs at the rambling and shakes off Kim's arm, then looks at the glass suspiciously. "Right. You're not drinking for the next few days... I've only ever known a few people who tried to skirt around the boundaries like this when it comes to drinking."

<+Victoria Kimmie has only had one drink. I can support her there." She takes a sip of her drink "I am sure you two will have a fun time, at the museum."

Kim grins widely and puts an arm on Elise's shoulder. "You bet we will. It is family after all. Anyway..." She turns and takes a few steps towards the entrance. "Nice meeting you, Victoria. Bartender, put the drink on my tab, please. Elise, let's go find some hidden enchantments!"

Elise brings a hand up to her forehead and shakes her head with an exhausted sigh, then waves to the woman and follows her sister out.

Victoria waves the two off "Good chatting to both of you." She stays at the bar for a while to finish her drink, then she heads off.
