#FreedomFalls – July 25, 2014

The streets sorrounding the spaceport are quite calm, with mostly office buildings around, broken up by the occasional store, cafe or apartment building. There aren't many people around during this early afternoon, most walking by with varying degrees of purpose in their steps -- minding their own business. Some mercs stand watch here and there, undoubtedly for coroprations owning the buildings.

Shyva'Nahl stares up at the buildings, trembling as she leaves the space port. She looks around at all the new sights and faces before gulping, extremely nervously. The Quarian is wearing her dull white enviro-suit with a beautiful blue shawl over her helmet, sweeping down over her bosom, and hugging around her thighs. On her back is a small back-pack, and at her side is a small holster with

an amateurly maintained pistol. She looks left and right, not entirely sure what to do with herself until a large Turian brushes past her, causing her to almost jump out of her skin. She lets out a little whimper as the turian grumbles, and goes on his way. Maybe she'd made a mistake by coming to Aite...

Ehanis is a sky-blue asari dressed in a dark-red top held up by two somewhat thin shoulder straps. It sits tight on her figure, but doesn't go far enough from the neck to show more than the hint of a cleavage. Her pants are green, with a few large pockets.

is walking along the street where spaceport exists to, not looking particularly like it's her day today. She stops near the spaceport and drops her heavy travel bag with a thump as the biotic field sorrounding it dissipates, her breathing seeming a little heavy from exertion. Anyone attentive enough would also be able to tell she may have skimped on sleep last night. She enables her omni-tool to review a map of the town, seemingly inatttentive to the armed quarian a mere meter away from her.

Shyva'Nahl jumps at the thump, not expecting it at all! She lets out a louder squeak as she dashes to the side, away from the bag and Ehanis, clearly at her nerves' end. It sounded a lot like a Krogan had just stomped next to her. She's breathing quickly, on the verge of panic. The Quarian has no clue what she's going to do, where to go, or where she'll end up staying, and the possibility of homelessness was definitely becoming more and more prominant. She quakes in her Quarian boots.

Hm?

Ehanis looks up from the map at the quarian near her, raising an eyebrow. "What's wrong with you?" she blurts out in a lowered voice, sounding a little tired.

Shyva'Nahl takes several deep breathes before gulping, ready to address the asari. "I..." she says, which turns into a high pitched squeak. "I... I d-don't... know?" she says, entirely unsure about what she should tell the asari. She sounds like she's on the verge of tears, poor gal. Too much too fast! She takes several more long breathes before finally calming down. "I... um... I'm s-sorry..." she finally says, very quietly.

Ehanis stares at her for a few seconds with a raised eyebrow before glancing at the map once more, settling for a direction mentally and letting its interface dissipate. "Takes some guts coming out a terminus backwater like this," she says, although flatly, "when I scare the living shit out of you without even trying." A tiny smile creeps up.

Shyva'Nahl whimpers again, her left hand creeping up and rubbing her right upper-arm nervously. "U-Um... I... I didn't know it w-would be like... W-well this..." she says, her voice soft and quiet. "I... d-didn't think v-very far ahead..." she admits, painfully. Her voice catches her her throat but she gulps it down.

You could do way worse, trust me. Or, well....

Ehanis sighs and looks to the side, checking the right strap on her top. "It's my first time setting foot on this planet, too, so I don't know any more than you."

Shyva'Nahl nods slowly, then looks at Ehanis_Tioran's bag. "I... I assume y-you have a place t-to stay t-though..." she manages to squeak, her voice shaking. "I'm not... n-not so lucky..."

Ehanis shakes her head. "I heard there are places in town to rent a room, though," she says, before raising an eyebrow. "You have creds, right?"

Shyva'Nahl blinks, looking very hesitent. "Y-You... you w-wont... you w-w-won't r-rob me, w-will you?" she asks, placing a shakey hand on her pistol. "I a-am armed..."

Ehanis | "No," she sighs, sounding a little irritated. "I meant so you can rent a room somewhere in town, silly."

Shyva'Nahl relaxes a little, still shaking. "...o-okay..." she nearly whispers. "M-Most people wh-who'd ask m-me that will t-try to take my c-creds from me... t-that's what m-my dad said..." she mutters, eyeing Ehanis over, a little suspicious. At least, until a human walks by her and coughs loudly, causing her to eep and jump again.

Ehanis can't help but smirk as she's eyed over, mostly out of amusement. She picks up the bag again with her left hand, a faint biotic shimmer enveloping it to reduce the mass. "You're looking for a place to stay, too, then?"

Shyva'Nahl watches the human leave, still frozen in shock before finally looking back at Ehanis_Tioran, then at the ground. She gives the tinest of nods, feeling ashamed by her nervousness and fear. "U-Um... y-yes..." she finally murmers.

Ehanis nods. "Good," she says. "Let's get going, then. No sense in standing around here."

Shyva'Nahl blinks, looking up at Ehanis again. "W-Wait... w-we?" she asks. "Y-You... y-you want me t-to come with y-you?" she asks, sounding honestly surprised.

We're looking for the same thing anyway, so why not?

Ehanis shrugs. "Up to you, though, but you don't look like you'd rather walk alone."

Shyva'Nahl blinks several more times before taking a small step forward. "I-I'd rather n-not go alone..." she mutters quietly. "U-Um... s-sorry if I... seem kinda odd..." she murmers, looking ashamedly at the ground.

Ehanis looks a little amused. "You sure are," she says with a grin, "but don't worry about it." She starts walking towards one of the streets leading in the northern direction, not afraid of the road as cars pass way above their head anyway.

Shyva'Nahl scurries after Ehanis, keeping her head down. She squeaks a few times as the cars pass over her, not used to the sensation. She quickly catches up, thinking the asari was actually pretty alright. She didn't hit the quarian, or insult her, or anything she was expecting. "U-Um... I d-don't think I g-got your name..." she mumbles, pulling on her back pack's straps.

I'm Ehanis.

Ehanis looks forward, paying attention as she's more used to the increased tension of Omega's streets recently. "And you are?"

Shyva'Nahl gulps before cleaning her throat. "S-Shyva'Nahl Nar Tesleya." she says, still walking behind Ehanis, getting a little closer as she grows more comfortable around the friendly asari. "Um... s-sorry for t-thinking you w-were going to mug me... I, um... I'm j-just really... nervous..."

Ehanis chuckles. "I almost snapped at you, too, so we're even," she says. "Travel's notorious at wearing people out...."

Shyva'Nahl rubs her upper arm with a sigh. "I w-wish it w-was just travel t-that put me on e-edge..." she mumbles, almost whispering.

Eh, it'll get better.

Ehanis pats the quarian's shoulder with her right hand. "Sis told me about a place here that's good. Staff there must know the dos and don'ts for living here."

Shyva'Nahl flinches at the shoulder touch, but quickly relaxes. "Um... I've b-been saying that f-for years..." she mumbles. "I've b-b-been nervous... m-my whole life..." She holds her backpack straps and rubs them with her thumbs nervously. "I l-liked to b-be alone... c-calmed me down..."

That's not gonna work out here.

Ehanis frowns, pausing to bring up her hand to cover a halfway stifled yawn. "You don't want to start looking for a job once you're out of credits, and it runs out too fucking fast. I sold off my submachine gun to get here."

Shyva'Nahl nods slowly. "u-um... t-that's the s-second thing on m-my list..." she mumbles. "I n-need to f-find somewhere t-to live first..." She looks up and down the street, constantly seeing new sights and sounds. She flinches at a few things, mostly cars honking thier horns. "T-This place is s-so different to t-the ships..."

You expected it not be?

Ehanis chuckles, her tone making clear she's not serious. "Anyway, the place we're going to should be good enough, and I don't think there's any cheaper places to stay."

Shyva'Nahl stares up at the taller buildings around them for a second then shakes her head. "I... d-didn't think it would b-be THIS different..." she mumbles to Ehanis, almost tripping over. She eeps, but manages to regain her footing. She gives an annoyed sigh, clearly disapointed with her clumsy self. "T-This place... d-do you know i-if they're friendly?" she asks, hopeful.
