Ehanis looks over to the quarian at the sound, chuckling faintly as she regains her footing. "The one we're going to?" she says. "Yeah.... Sis seemed to like it there. And I'd stayed at places she abhored."

Shyva'Nahl nods with a reassured smile. "That's g-good..." She mumbles, wringing her hands nervously. "S-so you do h-have family here? Is I-it just your s-sister?"
Shyva'Nahl nods as she shuffles along, next to the Asari, glad she's at least found one person who tolerates her. "S-so you're a-as alone here as m-me?" She asks, quietly.
Ehanis nods slightly. "For now," she says. "Just give it a few days, and I bet we'll both have that problem sorted out." The reaches a street crossing, and Ehanis proceeds forward after just a glance to each side in case for ground vehicles.
Some armed mercs is walking along the streets, patrolling around the buildings, but they don't have their pistols drawn.
Shyva'Nahl gives several looks up and down the street before scurrying across it. "Um... W-well, I d-do know one p-person here..." She admits, wringing her hands. "S-she put the idea of c-coming to Aite in my h-head."
Ehanis frowns. "Mustn't have known you well, then," she says. "You're way too jumpy for the Terminus."
Shyva'Nahl shakes her head with a long sigh. "N-no, not r-really. I knew h-her as a y-young child, a-and I had no idea w-where to go. It was e-either here o-or the citadel. T-this was less e-expensive."
Ehanis nods. "Citadel's not a bad place, but I think quarians there must have it tough," she says. "I've seen 'not hiring quarian' signs here and there, too."
Shyva'Nahl lets out a little whimper. "H-Here as I-in in this town?" She asks, her voice wavering as it dons on her. Perhaps she may not get a job. Then what?
Ehanis sighs. "I have just arrived here, too." She glances around the street before looking back at the quarian. "If the staff's alright where we're headed, maybe they'll know what's what around here."
Shyva-Na nods slowly, staring at the ground. She looks up at Ehanis and tilts her head. "Is s-something wrong?" She asks, feeling something in Ehanis's voice. Was it anger? Had Shyva pissed her off?
Ehanis shakes her head as she keeps walking, quiet for a few seconds. "No... yes," she says. "Not my day today, is all."
Shyva continues to shuffle along by her side, holding the straps of her backpack tightly. "D-do... Do you w-wanna talk about it?" She asks, nervously.
Ehanis frowns. "A shuttle I was taking from Illium didn't go and I had to wait half a day for the next one they booked me over to," she says, "and when I got here, I was tired enough to misread the map and walk eight blocks in the wrong direction."
Shyva blinks and hums. "That d-does sound annoying .." She mumbles. "I s-spent two d-days in the c-cargo hold t-to get here. The engines c-caused a lot of noise..." She mumbles, stroking her upper arm. "I c-couldn't really g-get much sleep, b-but I d-did get s-some time to draw though..."
Ehanis continues forward, out into the intersection without much more than a glance to either side. "I've read the map this time. Just three more of these, and five to the west." She stops suddenly after crossing the road, letting her bag drop to the ground before she starts looking through one of the smaller pockets for a bottle of some asari-made energy drink she bought in Illium. "So, you're an artist?"
Shyva'Nahl eeps at the bag drop, hopping to the side. She recovers and clears her throat. "Um... n-not really..." she says, rubbing her upper arm. "Its j-just a hobby of mine..."
Ehanis downs about half the pint-sized bottle before putting it back in the bag. "Sure, sure," she says, not really believing her given how scared she is. "I think we should find a taxi, it's getting harder to keep the field up." She stands up completely and lifts the bag, the biotic field sorrounding it returning -- although it would appear very faint unless the quarian's suit can detect it and give visual feedback.
Shyva'Nahl reaches out and picks the bag out of her biotic field. She eeps at the heavyness but manages to hold it up. "I c-can carry this if y-you like. Its n-not far is it?" she asks. It seems she definitely has the strength to carry it, at least for a few more blocks.
Ehanis raises her brow as the quarian takes the bag, the biotic field sticking around it for a few seconds before it quickly fades out; revealing the actual weight of the bag: 43 kilograms. While the bag isn't much larger than your average traveling bag, the bag was packed to capacity, and included her combat gear and spare parts.
Shyva'Nahl eeps as the biotic field fades, and she's forced to put it down. "W-What do you h-have in here?!" she asks, standing up straight again. "A c-contortionist?" She'd definitely underestimated the weight of the bag.
Ehanis can't help but let out a giggle at the quarian. "I packed all I could bring when I left Omega," she says. "If this year's crap keep up, I don't want anything of value to be left there."
Shyva'Nahl tries to pick up the bag, but can't. "It r-really is heavy..." she mumbles, rubbing her upper arm again. "I'm s-sorry... I u-underestimated its w-weight."
Ehanis smiles faintly before picking the bag up, the biotic field once again about it. "We should find a taxi," she says. "I thought I'd look what's in the city on my way there, but I can just as well put it off 'till tomorrow when I'm not hauling all my stuff with me."
Shyva'Nahl nods, grabbing her straps again. "G-Good plan. Um... h-how do you hail a taxi?" she asks, looking at the traffic above them.
Ehanis enables her omni-tool and looks over the map once more. "I wish I had a good answer. I can call the place we're headed to, they should know which company's reliable."
Shyva'Nahl nods, walking up next to a building and leaning against the wall. She tries to stick to the shadows as to not stand out while Ehanis calls up a taxi.
Ehanis taps a few more times into her omni-tool and a holographic screen protrudes out of it, although it has no video feed -- just the status of the call. "Hey. I just got here and is two blocks north of the spaceport," she says. "I'm looking for a place to stay the night." It goes quiet for a few seconds as the omni-tool's audio is to her ear. A grin follows before she responds, "Great! I'll send the navpoint over right away. Tell them to look for an asari and a quarian. See you there." Her omni-tool dissipates shortly after.
Shyva'Nahl watches as she talks to her omnitool, then walks back over. "S-So, is that the taxi ordered?" she asks, still trembling nervously.
Ehanis nods. "She said she'll order it for us," she says, "but couldn't tell how fast it'll be here. Shouldn't take to long, though."
Shyva'Nahl nods slowly, scuffing her foot on the ground. "Um... T-thank you, Ehanis..." she mumbles, stroking the back of her shawl. "F-For helping m-me and all..."
Ehanis says as she opens her bag and finds the bottle again, taking another sip of it before putting it back. "We were headed the same way."
Shyva'Nahl nods slowly, going back to rubbing her upper arm. "Its j-just that... m-most people d-don't notice me, m-much less give m-me the time of d-day..."
Ehanis zips back the lock on the pocket where she placed the bottle, having some difficulty getting it shut completely; and stands up. "I'm sure you'll have much more luck meeting people at a bar than out here."
Shyva'Nahl shakes her head. "N-No, I mean... m-most people w-wouldn't h-help someone l-like me. E-Even if we were g-going in the s-same direction. N-not many people s-seen to like Quarians." she looks Ehanis in the eyes and nods. "It m-means a lot to m-me that you would stop and h-help." She then shrugs and looks down. "a-As for meeting o-others... I've n-never been m-much for m-making friends..."
Ehanis pats the quarian's shoulder. "Don't be so hard on yourself, Shyva," she says. "You haven't been here before, so how can you know how it'll go?"
The loud hum of a sky-car can be heard above them before it slowly descends to the ground just a few feet away from the pair. A turian man steps out of the car, and approaches them. "I assume you two ordered the taxi?" he asks. "To Miner's Respite."
Shyva'Nahl sighs and looks at Ehanis with a small smile. "Its j-just how I a-am. I l-like to h-hide myself away."
Ehanis pats her shoulder again with a chuckle before looking at the turian. "Yes, that's us," she says, picking up her bag with a biotic field surrounding it. The turian takes her bag, not having too much difficulty carrying it; although its weight surprised him. Ehanis steps into the car, taking the seat beside the driver.
Shyva'Nahl crawls into the back seat and curls up, pulling her legs towards her. She prefered to be in an enclosed space. Made her feel cosy.
The turian steps into the car last and starts the fare-meter while the door closes. "The Miner's Respite will not be paying the fare," he informs, "but I doubt it's going to be more than twenty credits; our minimum." After a second the car ascends and merges with the traffic above.
