Va'ynna is standing at the bar, wiping down the counter near where two drunks sat earlier. It's not a busy night, so few are signaling for her. The asari's clad in a dark-gray dress with green trims.
#Miner'sRespite – August 18, 2014
Victoria walked into the Respite wearing her armor, her weapons on her as well and visor in hand. She walks up to the bar and notice Va`ynna is working. She takes a seat near her ''Hey Va`ynna!'' She said in a excited tone.
Va'ynna looks up from her work, and smiles. "Hey, Victoria," she says, hanging the cloth over the sink. "How... are you?"
''I am alright, totally proved my worth on that job.'' She said ''Not only did I dive a shuttle under-water and live to tell the tale, I also took down a turian in hand to hand. Then sat on him so he could do nothing.''
Va'ynna raises an eyebrow. "You... flew a shuttle under water?" she says. "Are they... supposed to handle that?"
''Apparently some can, I did not want to but I was out voted. So how was your day?'' She said in a friendly tone.
Va'ynna smiles sheepishly. "Not as exciting as yours, I... have to say," she says. "The only... challenge I had was telling an asari she couldn't have another drink."
''At least it was safer than mine. Do not want to fly another shuttle under water again.'' She then smile at Va`ynna ''Now could I kindly get my usual drink please?''
Va'ynna nods, and walks over to get the two bottles. "So, what was the job about... if I may ask?" she picks out the coke and rum, and returns to the counter. She pours a glass with ice before starting on mixing the ingredients.
''Something about finding somebody and extracting or something.'' She shrugged. ''I can't really remember, all I did was fly the shuttle and sat on a turian, to make sure he did not do anything.''
Va'ynna finishes mixing the rum and coke and puts the glass on the counter before Victoria. "You were... restraining him?" she asks, sounding a bit curious. "Couldn't you have used a, um, wire or something instead of... sitting on him?"
''Well, I do not have anything to restrain him and no one offered me anything to restrain him. So I had to.''
Speaking of turians, Calyx made his way inside. The man's helmet was off, revealing his steel-colored and paintless face, bright, yellow eyes peering out at the world around him. He whistles jovially, making his way to the bar and stopping upon noticing Victoria. "Small planet," he comments, arching a brow-plate and looking between the two. "I wasn't following you or anything. Promise."
Va'ynna smirks slightly. "So, who else-" she looks towards the exit to see a somehow familiar turian face, getting uncomfortable as she recalls when she saw his face. "Who else was on the job with you?" As the turian takes a seat, she looks towards him. "Um, what can I get you?"
''Jason, Renala, a few others and this idiot here.'' She pointed at the turian ''He was the one who thought of the shuttle going in the water.''
"Well, it worked." He slides in to the seat and looks at Va`ynna, shrugging in response. "Not sure yet. Was that her name, Rennala? Asari that tagged along with us. She was something else, huh? Don't have her frequency or anything, do you? I think she liked me," he boasts.
Va'ynna nods. "Ms T'Iavay lives upstairs, but I... haven't seen her come back yet," she says. "You're with... Redrock, too?"
Victoria facepalms ''You should not have said that.'' Victoria then pointed at the stairs ''He will be sitting there like a lost varren.'' She said jokingly.
"Oh, come on -- I'm not like that. Besides, I play hard to get." He shrugs. "Something turian, I don't care what. Just nothing hard."
Va'ynna brings up a hand to cover her mouth, smirking. She nods at the order and moves off to find a bottle, taking a bit to look through what dextro drinks they had.
Va'ynna takes out a bottle of some turian drink that can be compared to human beer, and would translate to 'beer' for humans. She finds a glass on holds up the bottle for the turian to see. "Would this be alright?"
Victoria looked at the turian ''You don't drink the heavy stuff? The stuff that will knock you on your ass after five sips, that stuff.''
"Not right now, I don't," he answers with a nod. "Yeah, that'll work. Don't worry about a glass -- here, just pass me the bottle." Calyx reaches out to take if.
Va'ynna passes him the bottle, as it's smaller than the one she poured from when the turian woman was here. "So, you're with Redrock Agency, too?" she repeats her question from earlier.
"Huh? Oh, yeah. Though that was obvious." He smirks then pops the top off. "So are you a bartender or something?"
Va'ynna smiles sheepishly. "I just... wanted to be sure," she says. "I... don't know much about mercenary work."
"Looks like the only bartender." He chuckles. "So, that Renala girl -- she's nothing to be afraid of, right? Isn't some daughter of a matriarch or anything?"
Va'ynna blushes furiously at Victoria's comment, although it's not too visible given her deep purple hue. "I don't know," she shrugs.
Victoria shrugs ''I could give you a long ass bullshit story, that I make up on the spot.'' She said as she had another sip of her drink
"Uh-huh." He blinks slowly and samples the beer before letting out a sigh, looking up for just a moment. "How much for a room here?"
Va'ynna nods and starts typing on the nearest terminal. "It's... not meant for permanent lodging," she says. "That'll be nine-hundred, then."
"I might look someplace else, then..." He smirks as much as a turian can and pulls up his omni-tool, waving it in front of the terminal and transferring the credits in. "That should do it."
Va'ynna nods, and sends over the digital key-equialent to get the door open, as well as the room number. "Thank you," she says. "So, um, is everyone alright after the job you were on?"
''Jason was a little messed up. I think he forgets to use cover. But who am I to judge, all I did was sit on my ass.''
Va'ynna frowns. "Oh... Will he be alright?" she asks, looking very worried. The turian might remember her being in a hug with Jason when he first went to this bar.
''I am sure he will be fine. I should start calling you Va`ynna the caring. Making sure they are going to be fine, you almost sound like a mother.''
Va'ynna giggles faintly before going quiet for a few seconds. "I... do care about him," she says. "He's been... always been kind to me."
Victoria pulls a fake shocked face ''I have also been kind to you, where is my caring. After sitting on that turians arm, I might not be able to sit right without it being sore for a long time.''
''Well I am, my ass may never be able to sit or lean against a pole, ever again.'' She put on a fake tone of pain.
Va'ynna frowns, playing along. "I'm sorry," she says, "but... uh, you can sit on a chair fine, right?"
''Only if they have padding. If they did not, I would be in pain. If that was the case, I might have needed my beautiful and favourite bartender to save me.'' She gave a face of pain, clearly acting.
Va'ynna brings up a hand to cover her mouth, her cheeks deepening in color again. She giggles. "You're... joking."
''Well maybe about the ass being that sore. But you are beautiful.'' She said taking a sip of her drink, and smiling at the same time.
Calyx is looking between the two of them now, eyes slowly narrowing. He'd moved down the bar somewhat a bit earlier before to type up a message on his omnitool. Now he's just kind of hoping they start making out or whatever.
Va'ynna shakes her head, the cheeks still at a different hue of purple. "Stop it," she murmurs, not looking too comfortable.
Va'ynna frowns, and the blush returns just as it was about to go away. "Um, thank you," she says. "It's... uh... sweet of you both... to say that."
Victoria stands up ''Well I am going to my room to get out of this.'' She placed a credit chit on the counter and gave Va`ynna a smile ''I will talk to you later.'' She then went up the stairs to her room, she did however left her visor on the counter accidently.
"Need a hand?" he asks as she leaves, ducking instinctively as if he expects her to throw something back at him. The turian chuckles to himself then looks over at the visor left behind, raising a brow-plate. "Looks like she left it," he mentions. "That way, you'll have to take it up to her and she can try and get you inside. Classic."
Va'ynna returns the smile, still looking a little uncomfortable. "I'll see you," she says. She's a little late to notice the visor, though, and knows all to well she's too soft-spoken to call loud enough. She reaches out and takes the visor, placing it beneath the counter. "I... think she just forgot it," she says to the turian. "I'll return it to her when I see her next."
"Maybe." He leans back as much as a turian can in a stool without falling over. "Guess I'll let you work, then."
Va'ynna nods, and glances around to see if anyone needs service before returning her gaze at the turian. "So, um, sorry about last time," she says, "I'm... glad you came back here."
"What, you mean the hugging and the crying?" He blinks slowly. "You were having a bad day, it happens. Wolfe seems like an OK guy."
Va'ynna smiles slightly, though it fades as she hears about Jason. "Bad? I thought Victoria said he was okay?"
"She didn't do much but fly the shuttle and sit on her ass, so." He shrugs. "Took a few bad hits, but he's fine."
Va'ynna types on the terminal, looking up places in Freedom Falls. "He's... at the hospital in the city, right?" she says. "I'll... I hope D'Inea will let me leave work early, though."
Va'ynna brings up a hand to cover her mouth as she imagines it, humming thoughtfully. "Yeah, I think I'll do that," she then says.
