#Miner'sRespite – July 26, 2015
Ceeha-Tul ducks his head and goes to explore his first alien bar. The holograms are more than a little blinding compared to his recollection of the modicum of drinking establishments back on the fleet. He shakes his head a bit before continuing on - he must refuel himself with the finest Turian brandies, one of his few personal pleasures.
Fidaris follows in shortly after, wearing his armour and carring his Viper on his back and Pistol on his leg. He glances round the bar and finds it empty. "Good" He mutters to himself.
Ceeha-Tul makes his way to the bar to greet the Asari bartender. He tilts his head to the side, a habit he's started to pick up upon his arrival to demonstrate he's listening to the aliens. "Hi. Do you serve turian brandy here?"
Va'ynna is standing behind the bar counter, currently wiping coffee spills off it. It's well into the afternoon, so the bar is still quiet. Va'ynna is dressed in a dark green dress. She looks at the quarian and thinks for a moment. "We do," she says with a small smile. "Can I get you any?" (Gislee)
Kim slips into the bar and glances around with her unusually sharp gaze. Her braid swishes from side to side as she takes quick, long strides to the bar counter. With a small sigh, she leans forward after taking a random seat and does a quick, awkward looking stretch. She glances around a second time before looking for the bartender.
Ceeha-Tul leans against the counter and subconsciously raises 2 of his 3 fingers, "Yes please. I might end up running a tab you'know."
Fidaris walks to the bar and takes a seat. "Make that two!" He says to the bar lady. He glances to the other turian in the room and the human female who just wondered in, he then returns to waiting for his drink.
Va'ynna nods and goes off to find the bottle, taking a while to do so as turians aren't that common on this rock. She finds a bottle and returns with it, pouring two glasses, handing one to the quarian and one to the turian. (Gisle)
Ceeha-Tul plops himself down in his seat while she goes to grab herself some of the drinks. He should probably get to work on a plan here. 'Should I open the shop? I mean.. Passage in the terminus.' Upon the drink arriving he grins to himself and pulls out emergency induction port (read: a straw) to inbibe said fluids
Fidaris takes a sip of his drink and savors the burn in his throat, he looks to the quarian next to him and is curious to why she is drinking through her Emergency Induction Port. "Hey Quarian? Isn't using that supposed to only be used in... you know emergencies?"
Ceeha-Tul 's head tilts to the turian. 'Such an angry, inferior species.' he jokes to himself. Noticing his pause, he laughs. "This is an emergency. It's been a good 4 weeks since the last time I've had it. Not an alcoholic mind, though it's.. a hobby."
Va'ynna walks over to the newest arrival, her smile widening a bit. "Hey," she says, then frowns, and tilts her head. "Um, I'm... sorry. I have a lot on my mind, so I... um, forgot." She fidgets a bit. "What can I... get you?" (Gisle)
Fidaris grabs his drink and sips it yet again. "You best be careful with that stuff, if it's been four weeks your body isn't going to be used to that stuff. And Fidaris Visdern. What brings you here?"
Kim laughs softly and raises her arms for a moment. She pauses for a second before shrugging and leaning back slightly with a small wink.
Ceeha-Tul "Well. It's my Pilgrimage. I haven't got much of a choice." he tries to school his face into a sort of dutiful grimace for the turian. He's probably unfamiliar with glowing expressions. "Though this bar? The very thing I have in my hand." delivers, deadpan
Fidaris tries to make out the impressions the quarian is doing in her mask but leaves it. "I'm here for work, right now I'm on a break from finding some."
Va'ynna chuckles as well, thought looks a little embarrased. "How... could I forget that," she murmurs before going off to find a bottle. She returns with it and finds a glass. "So, um... how are you?" She pours the glass and puts it on the counter before her.
Ceeha-Tul "You and me both. It seems like no one will accept an quarian inventor, qualified or not. I'm thinking about how I'm gonna go start up my own shop, but woe is me." he slurps some more of the brandy
Ceeha-Tul re-examines the turian. He's one of the first, of which he's seen, without facial markings. Judging by the scar he might be another merc, as the planet seems rife with 'em
Ceeha-Tul "Things. All sorts." he throws a cursory arm out. "I mean, a couple weeks ago I helped work on a sort of prototype miniature system within the ship for maximising eezo usage and such."
Kim grins at the glass and takes a small swig before gently placing the glass back down on the table. Her eyes glance down to the table for a split second before she speaks.
Well... haven't felt like coming by to see anyone lately. There have been... complications... lately. I'll save you the boring details though. How have you and the bar been doing lately?
Fidaris pulls his Viper off his back and places it on the table. "Do you have anything to invent for my baby?"
Va'ynna turns to stare at the turian with wide eyes, taking a step back. Her previous good mood replaced with terror. "P... please put that... a-... away," she says.
Ceeha-Tul doesn't resist rolling his eyes. "Mercs. Sure, lemme take a look." He moves over the adjacent stool and picks up the thing. "Well, I'm no gunsmith, but I can certainly improve the accuracy, cooling and cartridge size of it. If you want better upgrades, give me a week and complete extranet access." he turns and smiles widely
Fidaris sticks his hand up to Va'ynna whilst maintaining eye contact with Ceeha. "Relax, I'm not here to cause trouble." He says to Va'ynaa. "I can cause trouble for you if you give me attitude quarian. And why would you need extra-net access?"
Kim glances at the ruckus next to her with a furrowed brow and slight frown. She rolls her eyes after a moment and resumes taking small sips from her glass.
Ceeha-Tul narrows his eyes. He didn't leave the fleet just to be some random merc's personal weapon smith. 'Maaaaybe if it was actually profitable, but nah.' "I'm not dissing the gun. I'm better with techy or more creative stuff. You need a drone, call me."
Fidaris smirks slightly "Why don't I offer you a deal? That would be profitable for the both of us?"
Va'ynna takes a while to calm down and turns her eyes back to the human woman. "I... It's... going well for me," she says, still a little shaken up, "but... Aylena is... gone. I haven't seen her... all day."
Ceeha-Tul cocks his head back. 'Why turians!?' he screams in his head. ".. What's the offer?" he he says, finishing his brandy.
Fidaris raises his hand and gestures to a booth, he takes his gun and holsters in on his back. "Lets talk over there."
Ceeha-Tul "Alright." he pushes his glass slightly forward and takes a look around before standing up and following the turian, Fidaris' lead.
Fidaris leads them both to a booth and sits down. "As you have probably guessed by now, I'm not here for legal means."
Ceeha-Tul nods. "What's your proposal?" he thinks, somewhat nervously mourning his shotgun back at his shack-apartment.
Va'ynna fidgets a bit, glancing at the door behind her. "I... haven't been in her apartment, but... it's locked," she says. "And I... um, I don't think she'll like if I went looking through her things."
"That's true, but... if she really has gone missing, the key to finding her might be in her apartment. Well, as long as you're sure she's actually missing and not just brooding or something."
Ceeha-Tul puts the complicated 2 and 2 together and gives Fidaris a big, megawatt smile. "So, if perchance I had some problems, I could get in touch?"
Ceeha-Tul notes to self to get in touch with a couple of his Maema-friends in case they're any good at extranet-abusing
Ceeha-Tul 's smile receeds a lil', "I miiiiight need to soon. I've decided to set up shop. I'm probably gonna need all the protection I could get. If it gets bad, I'll send you right for my competitors, haha."
Ceeha-Tul "In exchange, I could probably help you out. There was a fantastic old Earth movie called double-o seven."
Va'ynna can't help but giggle, but stifles it quickly. "That... wouldn't be like her," she says. "I... should talk to... Briggs about it. Or Jason, maybe."
Ceeha-Tul 's tensions in his shoulders relax and he lets his face finally relax into an amused look. "Good." after a quick pause he coughs. "Phew. I thought that was going to get ugly. Mercs scare the hell out of me, and I only saw my first turian like a week ago."
"Sounds reasonable to me. I'm not very well versed in what's going on right now, so my opinion probably isn't as credible as theirs would be. Hey, speaking of Jason, have you seen him lately? I have to talk to him about something when we get a chance."
Fidaris smirks "I only get scary if you piss me off." He leans in and puts on a serious tone "So don't piss me off..." He leans back "How long have you been away from the flotilla?"
Ceeha-Tul 's eyes widen a little instinctively, which becomes slightly apparent as they're glowing. After a quick pause he replies, "Only about as long. It's been 12 days total I think, what with travel time and all."
Ceeha-Tul 's body doesn't betray any tension however, obviously aware that he isn't going to attack.
Fidaris nods "You got any family back there at all?" He clicks his fingers for the bartenders attention whilst leaning back and placing an arm behind the booth seat.
Va'ynna nods. "I saw him yesterday," she says. "He lives upstairs, so... he might be there right now. I... just got back from my break." A small smile shows up again, as if the earlier incident with the weapon didn't happen.
Ceeha-Tul takes the cue and mirrors. "Yup. I've got my mum and a group of about.. 4 or so good friends?" he says, ticking his fingers. "It's like that on the Maema. It's pretty packed."
Fidaris looks over to the girls talking "What do you think they're talking about?" He asked. The bartender came up to them "I'll take another brandy and give the girls over there a little treat aswell." He winks at the bartender. "What do you want?" He asks Ceeha
Ceeha-Tul "Probably talking about bo-" he starts, before looking up and spotting one already making her way over to them. He turns to Fidarius "-Oooh. Um, ask them if they can come up with something dextro. I don't mind."
Ceeha-Tul picks back up the convo. "How about you? You look very.. stoic." he attempts to deliver deadpan.
Wait... the last job? I got messaged about it, but... I was too busy with other things to go along. What the hell happened?
Ceeha-Tul 's ears perk up upon mention of Aite's Redrock. If this thing happens, he might have to.. have tabs? Something to stay aware of them.
Ceeha-Tul hides his grin at empathising with the bartender, having known one back home. 'The worst thing you can do is say 'surprise me!'' he thinks.
Fidaris turns back to Ceeha to answer his question. "If you serve in the turian military, you learn to keep your mouth shut and keep your head forward. In time I'll talk about my past, but not now."
Va'ynna frowns. "You... should talk to Jason about it," she says. "Or someone else who was on the job."
Ceeha-Tul head lifts a bit in acknowledgement. "I see.. I see. So it's compulsory?" he taps the table a bit. "Some quarians don't get pilgrimages and are drafted immediately."
Ceeha-Tul winces, making to let him see the expression. "So. What do you want to be? For me being an evil genius would be so cool, and maybe I could do it alongside my shop and probably fit it in with my other plans." he rushes out, both eager to change the topic and wanting to capitalise on the 'evil' vibe he gets from Fidaris. Partially from all mercs.
Fidaris replies "I just want to be able to afford my shit. I do what I need to do." He changes the subject "What other plans do you have?"
Va'ynna smiles slightly. "It's... fine," she says. Then, another patron waves her ower and she makes her way over to take his order. The turian bartender would come around eventually with the drink Fidaris ordered for 'the girls', although not to Va'ynna.
Ceeha-Tul swiftly moves on. "We'll see. I can use this thing pretty well." he uses one of his fingers to tap his head. "I get the vibe I'm going to be hiring you out for contracts in the future."
Kim waves to Va'ynna as she leaves and sits with her drink for a while, then raises her eyebrow as the turian comes with another.
Ceeha-Tul looks mildly alarmed. "I'd certainly hope not." he continues, "Nah. I mean it's very likely necessary on a world run by mercs, where someone can just point a gun and get what they want. I'll need a bodyguard and such."
Fidaris waves the girl over "I'll help you get information, get rid of people and make sure people don't bother you."
Kim shrugs and drains the rest of her first drink, then grabs the second one and walks over to where the quarian and turian are currently sitting. Her face is guarded and her steps are slow and deliberate, but otherwise she shows no signs of distrust.
Ceeha-Tul waves her over, content to have some company amongst the somewhat-threatening-but-useful Turian
Fidaris raises his chin and greets the girl "Hey, how'd you find the drink?" He moves over and offers her a seat.
Ceeha-Tul looks down and realises that his drink had arrived without him noticing. He lifts it up and peers at a little wooden stick with an sort of cone on it. "What is this thing?" he points with his other hand, swishing it a little.
Kim places her drink down and takes a seat next to the turian with the same expression glued onto her face.
Fidaris looks at the girl "Can't a new guy around here make any friends" He winks at her. "It's for decoration Ceeha"
I suppose. You're the second person to have attempted to pick me up in this bar, and I've been here a lot. It's curious.
Fidaris laughs slightly at Ceeha "They just do" he turns to Kim "Maybe a turian just needs some variation every now and then. What's your name?"
When you ask for someone's name that you're trying to pick up, it helps to introduce yourself first.
Ceeha-Tul gives the human and turian a polite nod and stands up. "I'll leave you guys to this, I've got some blueprints to think over." he says, making his way over to the bar
Kim nods to the quarian and gives a small smile along with a wave, then immediately slides over to the other side of the table to deprive the turian of potential shenanigans. Afterwards, she extends her open hand.
I am a fighter by trade, although I've been out of commission lately. My level of training, role, and current occupation is classified, unfortunately.
Fidaris smirks "I'm an underground fighter, merc on the side. I'm competed on 6 other worlds. I also offer other services."
Fidaris smirks even more "I get rid of problems, I get information. Stuff other mercs lack the skill in."
Kim shakes her head and stares at the turian's face for a moment, then shrugs and takes a long draught from the glass.
Kim returns to folding her arms and she glances around momentarily before turning back to the turian.
Kim takes a deep breath and places her arms flat on the table, then waits a few seconds before responding.
I don't know much about fight clubs. There's definitely work around for those who need it. Might take some digging though.
Fidaris nods and takes out a card with his contact info on it. "If you need anything done. Let me know." He gets up and gets ready to leave and turns back round. "One more thing. I'm good at finding people aswell. I'll see you later." He throws some credits on the bar and walks out.
Kim turns to scowl at the turian's back after he makes the last statement, then returns to her drink with a sharp gaze.
Ceeha-Tul loudly slurps his Fruit juice, vodka, cognac, white wine, and Blue Thessia mix, facing the woman in curiousity.
Kim drains the rest of her drink, then slams the glass down and opens up her omni-tool. She begins fiddling with things on it.
Ceeha-Tul begins to display his own omni-tool blueprint fiddling as a hologram, pretending to need it while the human's obviously doing something vaguely similar.
Ceeha-Tul cries a little inside from his lack of ability to approach the obviously domineering woman.
Ceeha-Tul gets a second wind and decides to satisfy his abject curiousity. He turns on his heel to face the human and huffs up a breath
Ceeha-Tul relaxes and her reaction, in a somewhat delayed motion. After a brief lull he tilts his head to look down at her hand in curiousity.
Kim sighs silently and maneuvers her hand to motion towards the other end of the booth before sitting down again.
Oh yes. Yeah. Here I was, minding my own quarian business when this violent man slams his gun on the table
Kim blinks with a blank stare on her face, which slowly degenerates into an expression that is difficult to pinpoint.
I've never spoken to a human before. Most of the guys are just.. kind of like soldiers back on the ship
Kim stays silent with her mouth slightly agape at the joke, enough for several seconds to pass after he finishes speaking.
"Well, I fight for a living, although that has been somewhat slow lately. I can't tell you much more than that unless you are willing to... help out? I can't tell you whether that would be a good idea or not at the moment, though.
Well. From my last conversation with... Fidaris, I think I might be making unique weapons as an offshoot. I'm not a fan of soldiers and mercenaries, though I kind of have a little dream of having a little gadget shop with my friends and some aliens. So, maybe in the future?
It's possible we might have some use of you then. I'll ask my employer next time we speak if you want.
