Li frowns slightly. "Okay..." She says with disappointment, pouting - no doubt on purpose.

Ilyna stops beside the car, and gestures for her to climb in. "I'll teach you one day, sweetie," she says, taking the driver's seat.

Li almost immediatly lights up with a smile again, and climbs into the car. She seems quite excited to go back into the air again.

Ilyna returns the smile, and closes the door once the girl is seated. The car ascends a few meters into the air before speeding forward, joining up with the sparse traffic. Ilyna seems a bit deep in thought as she navigates.

Li remains quiet for the most part, content to look out the window in fascination.

Ilyna doesn't fly the car too high up as she proceeds forward. Their destination is almost on the other side of the ring. "It's nice, isn't it?" she says, keeping her eyes on the airspace infront of her. "I only ever knew one person who actually lived here."

Li is pressed against the window, looking down at the buildings and parks below. "You can live here?"

Ilyna nods. "Yes, and some do," she says. "Even if I could... afford it, I would much rather live under a real sky."

Li looks up at the clouds in confusion. "The sky isn't real?"

Ilyna chuckles. "It's just very convincing," she says. "You remember the arms sticking out of the ring? The sky can't be seen from those."

Li slumps back into her seat. "I don't want to live where there is no sky..." She seems a bit unsettled by the idea.

Ilyna is quiet while she steers the car under one of the hallway bridges that go across the ring. "Me neither," she says. "It took me so long to get used to when I first visited my aunt who lives out on one of those arms."

Li looks at Ilyna. "Are there more places like this?"

Ilyna nods. "Space stations?" she says. "Many, but most of them are for people working there, like above a dangerous planet. None of them are this big, though."

Li turns back to the window. "Who built it?"

Ilyna hums thoughtfully. "The protheans," she says. "They're... a people that was around a very long time ago, long before my kind found this station more than two thousand years ago." She turns the car to the side when a parking lot comes into view, and pilots towards it.

Li 's eyes are wide with wonder. "Wow... what do they look like? Can I meet one?"

Ilyna frowns. "They were extinct... I mean, gone," she says. "I don't think anyone know what happened to them. This place was empty when the asari found it." The car turns and slows down to a halt before it starts descending onto a parking lot.

Li goes quiet at this information, remaining so for some time before asking: "Do you think they'll be mad people live here when they come back?"

Ilyna nods. "I... suppose so," she says. "I know I would be if I left for a long time and someone just... took my home." She sets the car down on the ground, and opens the doors. "I don't know how long they've been gone, but... it could be thousands, maybe tens of thousands of years. That's a long time."

Li nods in agreement. "Yes... I'm not that old. Are you?"

Ilyna grins, and climbs out of the car. "I'm not," she says. "I don't think anyone can get that old." She walks over to pick up a small travel bag from the back seat of the car.

Li seems a bit disappointed at this. "Oh..." She climbs out of the car, looking around in every direction.

Ilyna closes the car and walks over to an interface beside it. "I'm going to pay for renting the car, and then we're going." She puts down the bag and enables her omni-tool and taps on it. After a second, the interface shows a message and Ilyna shuts off her omni-tool again.

Li continues to look around curiously. "Where?"

Ilyna smiles slightly as she picks up her bag. "Home," she says. "We have a long two flights ahead of us." She pats her shoulder and starts walking towards the nearest entrance.

Li follows after, looking at anything even remotely interesting on the way.

Ilyna keeps walking towards the entrance, glancing every now and then to make sure she's still following. Some people do look their way, and others stare. There's not much interesting to look at, other than a few kiosks and cafes around the spaceport lobby once they're inside.

Li sticks close to Ilyna, not keen on being apart from her again anytime soon.

Ilyna leads her through the spaceport and they board the ship to Illium together.
