#RedrockAgency – May 28, 2016
The Redrock building stands two stories tall at the western edge of town, in an area filled mostly with old warehouses and empty lots. The parking lot is surrounded by a chainlink fence, and the main door is clearly visible on the eastern wall, while the hangar door is on the northern. (Tyranniac)
Sioria walks down the streets of the warehouse district in full armour, painted in a mix of browns, beiges, and greys as desert camo. A relic from her days with her former employer, but instead of a bull's head on her shoulder, now she sports the Redrock emblem with pride. She holsters her weapon as she approaches the main door, and presses the button on the intercom. She has her Redrock
ID at the ready, and she takes her helmet off to make the identification process much easier for the guys on the other end.
There is no intercom. The door slides open to reveal the lobby on the other side. A desk, some waiting seats, plants, a door to the bathrooms, and a corridor stretching further into the building. Behind the counter is projected a hologram of a human knight in full platemail. (Tyranniac)
Fergus bows to Sioria, hand on the hilt of his sword. "Welcome, Ser Felcolus. The employee records indicate you have not visited the base since I was brought online. I am Fergus." (Tyranniac)
Sioria blinks and looks the knight over. She hasn't ever seen a knight before, so it comes as quite a surprise. "Hi, Fergus." she says, stepping towards the counter and placing her helmet on it. "Hologram, eh? That would make you a VI, right?" she asks. "I'm Sioria Felcolus. Where did the guys find you, Fergus?"
"RadiaTech... Well, I'm certainly impressed." The Turian leans her elbows on the side of the counter and leans in a little. "So tell me, Fergus, is Vasquez available? I have some questions that need answers. She should be expecting me." This should be interesting, having a base VI. Very interesting indeed.
Fergus nods again, and gestures down the corridor. "Of course. She is awaiting your arrival in her office. The second door to the left is the one you seek." (Tyranniac)
Sioria gives the hologram a smile and a nod. "Thanks Fergus. I'll talk to you later." she says before grabbing her helmet and tucking it under her arm. She heads down the corridor and stops at the second door on the left, then clears her throat and makes sure she's presentable. Finally, she knocks on the door.
Vasquez looks up from her screen as the door to the office slides open. The room itself is fairly unremarkable. A shelf is to the left while a locker is to the right. Opposite the door is the desk which Vasquez sits behind, and beyond that the window facing out into the lightly snow-covered ground outside. On the opposite side to the desk is another, empty chair. She gestures for Sioria to take a seat in it. "You wanted to (Tyranniac)
Sioria walks into the room, only taking a small look around before sitting down. She wasn't hear to act as interior decorator, she was here for bigger things. "Yeah, I did." she says as she puts her helmet in her lap. "So, since I got to the city, I've been living on a compound. 8 rooms, large living space, two garage slots underneat, and a secure perimeter. Tauros rented it and set it
up as a comm relay between their southern outposts, and northern. When they pulled out of the city, they left the comms up and paid the rent to keep it that way until they set up a new relay, this time to the east. Well, its up and running and my lease is running out." She sits up straight and pats her helmet a little. "So, first thing I have to mention; is Redrock interested in leasing
a downtown compound? Not far from key positions, fortifyable, in the heart of the action. I can get you all the details whenever you need them, of course." Long shot, but its worth asking...
Vasquez raises an eyebrow. "Redrock is not exactly in a position to acquire another facility at the moment, and our current building just finished reconstruction. For the time being we have plenty of room to grow here. Sorry, but I don't think we'd have any use for it. You can send the details over anyway, I'll be sure to take a look." After a moment's thought she adds: "You might have more luck with the militia, I'm not (Tyranniac)
Sioria nods slowly, a little disheartened, but this is one of the outcomes she expected. "I see... the militia can find it themselves, I'm sure. I'm mostly putting it to you because I live there. Since we're not acquiring it, not now at least, I... need to request next monday and possibly teusday for leave." Her hands rest on the helmet in her lap. "Need to find a new place to live."
Vasquez nods with a quick glance to her computer terminal. "Shouldn't be a problem. You don't have any active assignments anyway." (Tyranniac)
Sioria gives a brief smile and nods. "Thanks, I appreciate it." she leans back slightly, feeling a little bit of the weight lifting from her shoulders. "The other thing I wanted to talk about is training. I'm trained in long range and marksman tactics, but before I left Tauros I'd started training in close quarters and riot suppression. Large shields and non-lethal weaponry. I was
wondering if there was anyone on staff who I could talk to about continuing my training in those fields." She taps her helmet gently. "Long range can only get me so far." She felt a mix of pride and disgust about that pun. "I'm sure me being dual-specced will be a benefit to Redrock."
Vasquez shakes her head, once again glancing to her screen briefly. "No, you'll have to ask around. As you know you're free to use our facilities for training" (Tyranniac)
Sioria nods to Vasquez and gives that a brief thought. "I'll see what I can dig up. Want me to let you know what I find, or shall I just go for it and bring you the results?" she asks, still not entirely sure of every protocol Redrock runs by.
Sioria sits forward. "If I find someone to train me, do you want to be in the loop on how its going, or shall I just go ahead?" she says, hoping that was clearer.
Vasquez shakes her head. "Just keep us appraised on what roles you feel comfortable taking in the field. Was there anything else?" (Tyranniac)
Sioria shakes her head. "Nope, that's it. Thanks for your time, boss. I appreciate it." she stands up and puts her helmet under her arm again. "Is there anything you'd like to talk to me about? any assignments, or issues?" she asks
Sioria nods and smiles. "Alright boss, I'll leave you to it." She heads for the door, but before she opens it, she turns. "Oh, and hey, congrats. Heard the good news about you and Jason." She gives a thumbs up before opening the door.
Vasquez offers a grunt and a polite smile in response as the doors slide open, and soon return her attention to her work. (Tyranniac)
