#Miner'sRespite – August 10, 2014

Sioria walks into the respite, her rifle collapsing as she puts it on her back. She walks up to the bar and pulls off her helmet, revealing her blue and red painted face. She puts her T-visored on the bar and takes a seat, looking for the bartender.

Ehanis is standing at the bar, talking with Va'ynna who have just retrieved the heavy-as-hell bag she didn't want to lug with her to Omega and Illium. Ehanis drags the bag around the bar before taking a seat. The asari's dressed in a dark-red top held up by not too thin shoulder straps, showing a fair bit below her neck, and a skirt going to just below her knees.

Sioria looks over at Ehanis and smirks at her bag. "You lugging solid gold or something? Looks heavy." she comments as she waits to be served.

Va'ynna makes her way over to serve the turian woman. "Hey..., Sioria, was it?" she says with a small smile. "What can I... get you?"

Ehanis looks over at the turian. "Combat gear," she says, "and whatever else I could fit in there when I left Omega."

Sioria looks at Va'ynna and smirks. "Hey V. Got any Turian beer?" she asks, then looks back at Ehanis. "Combat gear, eh? You a merc?"

Ehanis nods. "Yep, not like Omega gives much choice," she says. "Dancing in a bar didn't seem too appealing at the time."

Va'ynna tilts her head. "Maybe, let me check," she says as she makes her way over to the limited dextro selection they have, looking at a few of the bottles.

Sioria looks Ehanis over and chuckles. "You sure about that?" she asks, waiting for her beer. "Who do you work for?"

Nobody. I'm used to finding merc jobs here and there, but that doesn't really work outside Omega.

Ehanis turns in her seat to face the turian fully. "So, where do you get your creds?"

Sioria taps her bull sigil on her chest. "Tauros Security Solutions." she says. "Not mercs, but close. You picked up any contracts yet?"

Ehanis shakes her head. "Hadn't got the chance to," she says. "I had an errand to run off world just as I got here. I'm going to do it before my creds run out."

Sioria nods, still waiting. "Yeah, better make that soon. Contracts ain't easy to find out here." She looks towards Va'ynna. "With those Redrock guys hangin' around, nobody's getting contracts. Won't stop us cutting down criminals though."

Va'ynna makes her way back to the counter, and stars pouring a glass from the bottle. "Sorry, it was... hiding behind a bottle of brandy," she says with a sheepish smile. "You, uh, haven't talked to anyone from Redrock yet?" She places the glass on the counter.

Ehanis tilts her head. "Redrock?" she says. "I think I've seen that... name before, but I hadn't really looked too far into the jobs in town yet."

Sioria takes the glass and smiles. "Hey, thanks." She takes a long swig, then shakes her head. "Nah. Watched 'em a few times, getting recon, finding out where they operate so we don't stomp on toes. Don't need to make enemies."

Ehanis nods. "I'll try to look into them, then," she says. "But anyway, how's your group doing?" She looks up at the bartender. "A glass of water, please."

Sioria sips her drink and winces a little. "Great... yeah, great..." she mutters. "Bustin' heads all night, chasing down scum and battering them within an inch of their life... has anyone noticed? Noooope..." she practically growls. "We NEED a foothold, dammit..."

Ehanis raises an eyebrow. "Wait, this place has enough shitty people to do that?" she says. "It doesn't really look bad outside, and everyone with half a brain know what streets to keep to in a Terminus city."

Sioria nods, swigging her drink. "But some don't. Me and my boys patrol the shittier areas of the city. We've... let's see..." she puts her glass down and starts counting on her hands. "We've beaten four muggers, branded and beated two rapists, and got rid of a murderer and branded an attempted murderer in the past three weeks." she says, looking proud of herself.

There's a lot of humans around here, though, and they're kinda weird about biotics. Maybe that's why I've been lucky.

Sioria snorts and rolls her eyes. "Humans... violent little pyjacks..." she mutters. "Might think biotics are weird, but not the average person. Wretched scumbag criminals..."

Ehanis shrugs. "Eh, crap like that is standard fare out here," she says. "People just gotta learn to take care of themselves, and look confident."

Sioria growls, but nods. "Yeah, that's why we're here. Make it a little safer for those who can't." She puts her glass down a little forcefully. "Knowing people out there pray on the small... makes me sick.."

Va'ynna has poured a glass and places it infront of the asari wordlessly. She's a little distant today, for understandable reasons.

Ehanis chuckles. "I can't say I expected to meet a really... turian turian out here," she says with a smirk, "but you sure you're biting over more than you can chew?"

Sioria pffts, picking up her drink. "Look, we're taking out the little shits. We're leaving the bigwigs for later, until we can clear a few more squads from HQ. I got my eyes on a fdew gangs out here..."

Victoria walked down into the Respite's bar area, her hair down to shoulder length and she was wearing her standard t-shirt and long pants combo. She walked up the bar and ordered herself a rum and cola.

Ehanis nods. "I see, I see," she says before tilting her head. "Few more squads? I thought you were just trying to compete with this Redrock thing?"

Va'ynna makes her way over to Victoria, nodding at her order. She narrows her eyes, not sure if she recognized her. "I'll be right back with it," she says as she makes her way to the back, finding the bottles with ease. When she gets back, she starts mixing the drink in an ice-filled glass, still seeming a little distant.

Sioria shakes her head. "No, Tauros is fairly big. Based out of a colony out east. Where I was born." She says, looking back at Ehanis. "Its far. We're the only ones out here though. Spreading out."

Victoria places a credit chit on the bar-top ''Thanks.''

Ehanis looks down on her omni-tool as it beeps, then composes a reply quick stating that she's downstairs here. "So, you're doing the same in other cities here?" she asks before her omni-tool dissipates.

Sioria taps her chin, thinking. "I'm not privy to the details, but there's a detachment up north too. We aren't THAT big, but we're looking to expand."

Va'ynna takes the chit and charges the amount before handing it back. "Um, you're... Victoria?" she says, fidgeting a little.

Ehanis nods. "But you're running the show in town, right?" she says before a sip of her water.

Sioria shakes her head. "Nope. That'd be Captain Hyde." she says. "I'm second in command."

Hyde...

Ehanis hums. "Doesn't sound very turian to me," she says, "but anyway, what other stuff do you do than giving Terminus-crap their well deserved ass kicking?"

Victoria looks at the Va`ynna ''Yeah that is me. What is up?''

Va'ynna glances at the counter. "Nothing," she says. "Just... had a lot to think about recently." She looks up at her. "How about you?"

Sioria shakes her head. "He's a human." she says, sipping her drink. "Right now, I run the other guys' training, make sure they stay in tip-top shape. Other than that, there's not much. The odd patrol, but that's it. My free time is spent cleaning my gun and armour, with a drink here when I'm feeling good. Maybe catch up on a personal level with my squad."

''Meh, nothing much just sorting out a few things. Nothing too important.'' She said as she went to have a sip out of her drink.

Ehanis nods. "I've mostly taken one-off deals," she says, "so I haven't really had much of a chance to get friendly with squads. I've had a few friends i ran with, though. Can't really survive long on that hellhole without someone to watch your back. As a merc, at least."

"Same goes for security." she says, raising her glass. "To the back watchers. Gotta have 'em." she says before swigging her drink. "so you ran out of Omega, eh? From what I've heard, it sounds like a shit-hole."

Va'ynna tilts her head. "Ah. I... haven't seen you often, though," she says. "Are you, um, alright?"

Ehanis nods. "And some really bad crap is stirring up there now," she says. "I figured it was high time to get out."

Victoria nods with a smile ''Yeah, just sorting out things that need to be done. Just think of it like paper work.'' She said in a polite tone.

"Sounds about right." she says, finishing her drink. "So what do you do in your spare time?" she asks. "Gal like you looks like she'd be hanging out with friends, going on nights with the town..." There's a hint of jealousy in her voice, but its mostly flat. She smirks, looking up towards the bartender.

Va'ynna nods. "For... Redrock?" she says. "I didn't... think there were any others than Jason and... Linda?" she tilts her head, looking unsure, "managing there."

''Well they are the people managing it. I am just getting a something sorted for them to see if they are interested in the idea.'' She drank some more of her drink.

I always play it safe with nightlife in a new town. But bet you I would once I get comfy with it.

Ehanis smirks and takes a sip of her water. "But not today. I'm still paying for that little... housewarming party my roomie and I had last night."

Va'ynna smiles. "So, um, mind if I ask what the idea is?" she says, her curiousity getting the better of her.

Sioria smirks and lets out an amused huff. "Got freaky up on the homestead? 'Embracing Eternity' or whatever you Asari call it?"

''Getting a ship, to keep it basic.'' She said giving the asari a smile.

Ehanis snorts, shaking a little as she tries to hold in laughter. "You have any idea what a hassle it is to focus a drunk partner?" she says, not sounding too serious, "but no. Just didn't know when to stop drinking."

Va'ynna nods. "Oh... that would probably be useful," she says with a smile. "I... don't enjoy space travel much, though. It's... uh, scary."

Sioria gives a small smirk and looks at her drink. "Dunno what that's like..." she mutters. This asari seems to have a lot of fun, but does Sioria? Not really... "Never had the oppurtunity to get smashed."

''Really? I love space travel, it has so many unlimited possiblities. It makes you feel unique and small in such a large galaxy.'' She said with a voice of pure joy.

Ehanis raises an eyebrow. "Then you need to work that stick out and live a little!" she says with a smirk, light-heartedly. "That's probably a good way to get to know your squaddies better too."

Va'ynna nods. "I... have only flown like, um..." she mutters a few numbers to herself. "Ten or so times, I guess. I can't... relax when out in space."

Sioria shakes her head with a chuckle. "yeah, nah. Not my guys. They're all fun loving goofs, sure, but I need to set an example. I'm their sergeant and they're cool to hang with, but I'd rather not mix my personal and work life too much." She runs a finger around the lip of her glass. "And I don't really get out much to meet many other people, so I guess a party life is out of the question. Probably irresponsible to."

''I lived on a ship for a majority of my life before coming here. So I love space travel.'' She takes a sip of her drink.

Ehanis shakes her head. "If it weren't for this fucking headache, we could have gotten drunk right here and now," she says with a giggle. "You may regret it in the morning, sure, but that goes away."

Va'ynna smiles slightly. "Maybe... if it were with you," she says. "Redrock has... always been good to me."

Sioria smirks and raises an eye... crest. Thing. "You making an offer?" she asks. "Drinks at another time?"

Ehanis nods. "Yep," she says. "Who knows, maybe I'll sign up for your organization one day. It would be too late, then!"

''Well if Redrock can get this ship, I might be able to offer you a little trip. See if you will get use to space travel.''

Sioria smiles and takes a little breath. "Can't believe I'm letting myself do this..." she mutters. "But alright. We'll get drinks sometime. Here, my contact details." She opens her omnitool and sends them over to Ehanis.

Ehanis looks at her omni-tool to verify she got it, and returns hers. "That's great!" she says with a grin. "I'll send you a message tomorrow, hopefully."

Va'ynna nods. "That... would be lovely," she says. "Would it be with... Redorck's people only?"

Sioria smiles and nods. "I, uh... look forward to it." she says with a smile, blushing a little. "Guess I'm making friends... feels weird..."

''More than likely. I don't think Redrock would like it if I started to make plans on running a cruise ship on the future ship.'' She said in a joking manner.

Va'ynna looks thoughtful for a few seconds. "It's... your ship, isn't it?" she says. "The one that was... stolen from you, right?"

Ehanis raises an eyebrow. "You're not friends with your squadmates?" she says.

Sioria shrugs. "Yeah, I've known them for a long time, since we were kids, but they're also my coworkers and I'm their sergeant." She says, her grip tightening around her glass. "I have to set an example. I drill them hard, to them I'm just a friend. We have a laugh, but that's all I'll allow myself to do. They can't see me having... fun... don't know what that'd do to their performance, and performance right now is crucial."

"I do let them go out on the town. I just don't join them. And I give them shit if they're hungover."

Victoria sighs ''It won't be mine after we get it back from those bastards who took it.'' She took a sip of her drink ''It will be Redrock's, but at least I should be the only pilot of it.''

Ehanis exhales sharply through her nose. "I don't know them," she begins, "but I'm sure they'd love you for it! Being on their level, that is, not looking down on them." The asari doesn't know anything about running a serious mercenary company, though.

Va'ynna frowns. "Oh... that's... are you... okay with it?" she says. "Redrock are... good people, though. I'm... sure they'll take good care of it."

Sioria sighs and shakes her head. "I dunno... right now, the cons kinda outweigh the pros. When I find out what its like, what I'M like, I'll re-evaluate." She then tilts her head. "I, uh... honestly, I'm not sure I got your name, Blue."

''Gonna have to be okay with it. Even if it ain't mine I don't want the fake captain to have it.''

Ehanis smiles and extends her hand. "I'm Ehanis," she says. "Well, I'll tell you... if I remember it."

Va'ynna glances around to make sure none is requesting her before looking back at her. "What's... the ship like, then?" she asks, curious.

Sioria takes Ehanis's hand and gives her a firm, strong hand shake. "Sioria Felcolus." she says. "Sergeant. Sioria Felcolus. But uh... Sioria is fine." she then looks at her glass and smirks. "Yeah, if you could tell me, that'd be great."

''A modified cargo ship. That is to keep it easy, so I won't be boring you with me going on about what has been changed to it.''

Ehanis grins. "Sure, if I remember," she says. "Maybe it'll remain a mystery for both of us..."

Va'ynna nods. "I... suppose I can... get a tour of it when you get it back, right?" she says with a slightly hopeful look.

Sioria sighs and shakes her head. "I hope not. Gotta know my limits and what I do." She takes a breath and chuckles. "Think I'm overthinking it?"

Ehanis nods. "Yep," she says, looking amused. "Drinking is about letting loose, not worrying about a thing."

Victoria nods at Va`ynna ''Of course, it would be my pleasure.'' She said with a smile.

Sioria snorts and chuckles at Ehanis. "You don't have a five-man-team to look after. Hyde included."

Va'ynna lets out a small smile. "Thank you," she says. "Hopefully... I get more free time so I can go on a trip. It looks like... D'Inea is doing something about our... understaffed state, though, so maybe...."

Ehanis giggles. "You don't think they'll be fine without mother Sioria aorund, hm?" she teases.

''Well I would hate it, if I got my ship back and you did not get to take a tour of it.''

Sioria rolls her eyes. "Last time I left them alone they thought it'd be funny to change the screen saver on my personal terminal. They got double drills AND latrine duty." she says. "I won't stand for messing with an NCOs personal belongings." She smirks. "I got a kick outta that, and they learnt their lesson. They haven't touched my quarters since."

I'm... sure I can find time for a tour. It's... a trip off-world that's... difficult.

Ehanis raises an eyebrow. "That's just a harmless joke," she begins. "The kind good friends do."

Victoria goes to take hold of Va`ynna's hands ''We can make it so we orbit around the planet, and that will only last a day or two.'' Her tone had honesty to it.

Va'ynna tenses up at the touch, but she doesn't withrad her hands. "That.... I would like that," she says. "I'll do... my best to make time for it when you get it back."

Sioria nods. "Yeah, and they do that shit to each other. They don't dare mess with Hyde, or me. Funny as it was, I keep my personal space personal." she says, ringing her finger around the lip of her empty glass. "They needed to learn to respect their NCO's boundries." she says, then smirks. "I did buy them a six pack or two of earth beer when they were done, so no harm done. They know not to fuck with my shit, and I'm still cool with them."

Victoria smiles at Va`ynna and has not let go of her hands yet ''That is fantastic to hear.'' The tone of her voice went to one of joy.

Ehanis nods. "So what's the problem, then?" she says, keeping her light-hearted tone. "I'm sure the kids will place nice while mom's gone."

Va'ynna nods, smiling. She notices a patron signaling for her in the corner of her eyes ans sighs. "I'm so glad I have friends like you at Redrock," she says, sincerely, before making her way over to serve him.

Sioria nods slowly. "Yeah... but if they do fuck up... Hyde's gonna giving the discipline. One other reason I'm harsh on them, is because Hyde is... he's me times a hundred. He'd make them lick the toilets clean." she says. "I honestly wish I was kidding. I've only seen him discipline someone once and it wasn't pretty." She sighs and shakes her head. "I hope the guys understand that."

Victoria let go of Va`ynna's hands and watched her with a smile as she went to serve the other customer.

Ehanis looks at her wide-eyed for a second. "You're not doing a good job recruiting people, you know?"

Sioria blinks and frowns. "Damn... need to keep my mouth shut..." she grumbles. "Basically, boss man isn't to be messed with, I deal with the squad mostly, we do a good job." she says. "Hyde is scary, but there's a reason he's the captain." She taps her glass a few times and sighs. "We're a little high strung... no contract yet... command is thinking of recalling us..." she shakes her head again. "Nevermind. Yeah."

Ehanis hums. "That doesn't sound like the best time to take up new people, either, if you ask me," she says. "Recalling you, to where?"

Sioria looks back at Ehanis. "Home." she says. "Back east. And not right now, but the boss has something in the works." she says, seeming a little hopeful. "Feeling good about it."

Good! Would have sucked to have just met you, and then never seen you again.

Ehanis chuckles.

Va'ynna returns to where Victoria is. "So, um, anything else I can get you?" she asks.

Sioria chuckles and nods. "Yeah, that'd be a shame." she looks over Ehanis for a moment. "Anyway... I've talked too much about me and my work. What's going on with you?"

Victoria downs the rest of her drink ''Nah, I should get going.'' She stood up ''Hey if you ever want to visit me, go ahead. It would be nice too see you in your off time.'' She said with a smile.

Not a whole lot. I went here to see a friend I made last time, but she didn't have the time to come down here.

Ehanis takes a long sip of her water before placing the glass on the counter. "My roomie stayed on Omega after me, but also changed her mind when it didn't get better. So, here we are, sharing a nice little place out in one of the homesteads."

Va'ynna lets out a tiny smile. "I'll think about it," she says, looking a little unsure. "But I'll... see you again."

Sioria nods with a smile. "Sounds good." she says. "Picturesque, even." She taps her glass, thinking of the homesteads. Nice, open places in the middle of nowhere, instead of the small, cramped quarters they're stuck up with here. "Well, Ehanis, it was nice meeting you, but I really have to head out. Call me tomorrow and we'll arrange drinks, yeah?"

Ehanis grins. "You too, and sure," she says. "Looking forward to seeing you loosen up a little!"

''I will see you again Va`ynna.'' She said as she walked back up the stairs to her room.

Sioria chuckles, putting her helmet back on. "Yeah. You and my both." She stands up and heads for the door, pulling her rifle off her back.
