#Miner'sRespite – September 13, 2014
Va'ynna is standing on the customer side of the bar counter, waiting for Victoria. She had asked for some spare time, but it had to wait a day since when she, Jason and Ilyna was out running errands. It's very late afternoon and the sun is slowly starting to set. (Ehanis_Tioran)
Aylena is currently tending the bar, not having a hard time keeping up given that it's still before the more active parts of the day. (Ehanis_Tioran)
Victoria walked down into the Respite wearing a red dress that went down just below her knees, her hair was down and her footwear were black slip ons. She quickly spotted Va`ynna and walked up next to her ''Hey Va`ynna.''
Ehanis is sitting at the bar, dressed in modest red shirt and a dark-gray pants. There's a empty place and a half-empty glass of some light alcoholic drink on the counter before her.
Va'ynna smiles slightly. "Hey," she says. "It's... good to see you." She looks a little uncertain. The asari's dressed in a dark-red dress she sometimes shows up at work in, covering all of her skin below the neck barring the hands. (Ehanis_Tioran)
Sioria enters the bar wearing her full suit of armour, T-visored helmet and all. Her rifle collapses in her hand as she enters, and she slides it onto her back. The turian spots Ehanis and smiles, walking over and patting her shoulder as she sits next to her. "Hey pretty woman." she says.
Ehanis looks up at the turian. "Hey, Sio," she says, recognizing her despite the helmet. "What's up?"
Aylena walks over to the new arrivals. "Please don't wear a helmet in here," she says. "Anyway, is there anything I can get you two?" (Ehanis_Tioran)
Victoria smiles at Va`ynna ''You ready to go out or do you want to have a drink, while we are here?''
Sioria pulls off her helmet and puts it down on the bar, smiling at the woman. "Not much. Hoping I'd find you here." she gives her shoulder a squeeze. "You?"
Va'ynna shakes her head. "I'm ready to go," she says. "I... see enough of this place, anyway." (Ehanis_Tioran)
My sister spoke to someone within the Agency. They're still looking for people, but they're going on that expedition.
Ehanis sighs. "ExoGeni means... bad luck to my sister's family, so she wants me to really think about it."
Victoria was already standing ''Well lets go, I found a place that makes most races favourite foods.''
Sioria nods slowly, looking at the bar. "I've been thinking about that too. Wanted to see what you were going to do."
Va'ynna nods and sets course for the entrance, waiting for Victoria to walk. "Oh?" she says. "Is... it far?" (Ehanis_Tioran)
Ehanis frowns. "The problem is, I don't know," she says. "My sister's last job with them was straight out of a horror vid, with zombies and all. And her cousin is still missing after boarding an expedition... also employed by ExoGeni."
Sioria tightens her grip around Ehanis, pulling her into a half hug. "mmm..." she muses, thinking. "Do you know anyone on this expedition?"
Aylena moves off to another patron signaling for her, given that the two didn't answer her question. (Ehanis_Tioran)
Va'ynna keeps walking, upping the pace a little after Victoria catches up. "A block away... and I still didn't know about it," she says, a little smile creeping up. "Well, I... should probably go out more." (Ehanis_Tioran)
Ehanis nudges the turian, at least trying to hint at she being a little too close. "I don't," she says. "Sis gave me a contract address for one of the... founders, I think it was. They're staying here, so I suppose I'll pass him a message if I decide I'm going."
Victoria leading the way ''Everybody needs to get out once in a while, can't be working all the time.''
Sioria loosens her grip a little. "It does, but I don't entirely trust the company's motives. I'm still on the fence about it, its good money and all, but its not money I need right now."
Va'ynna frowns. "If only that was my choice," she says. "Miner's Respite... has been... understaffed for a long time." (Ehanis_Tioran)
Ehanis nods. "It could be money you need tomorrow," she says. "I don't know shit about the company other than what I've heard from my sister. The expedition is right in the neighborhood, though, so help shouldn't be a far away if things go to hell."
Sioria nods and sighs, patting her shoulder then pulling her hand away and looking down the bar. "Need a drink..." she grunts. "Anyway. Ehanis, you're my... friend. Someone I care about. If you're going, you can be damn sure I'll be there with you to watch your back."
Ehanis frowns. "If I'm willing to risk going through hell, you shouldn't be pressured to," she says. "But I'll appreciate it if you do. And we both get hired by the agency, of course."
Ehanis nods. "Good to hear," she says. "I don't think I could have made it this long as a merc without anyone to watch my back."
Sioria nods and looks down the bar again. "mmm. I got yours if you got mine." she says as she waits for Aylena.
Aylena is still serving another patron, and has made no indication she heard the turian woman's request. (Ehanis_Tioran)
Sioria knocks on the bar to get Aylena's attention, then looks back at Ehanis. "Mmm. Still got a little bit of time, just tell me before you do. I don't like to fight with people I don't know." She puts a hand on her shoulder again. "Now. Other than the expedition stuff, how have you been?"
Ehanis smiles. "Good," she says. "I was invited to a party yesterday, but my sister had called just minutes before and said she would be here. We're going to shop for some furniture later since she wants to stay at my place instead of upstairs here."
Aylena moves over to the two, barely having noticed the turian's knock. "What can I get you?" she asks. (Ehanis_Tioran)
Sioria looks at Aylena and smiles. "Turian beer for me please." she says, then turns her attention back to Ehanis. "Don't want to party with your sister? I wouldn't let that stop me, but then again I've only been to two parties my whole life."
Ehanis smirks. "My sister's not big on partying," she says. "She cleaned the apartment and made dinner, so I'm not complaining."
Sioria chuckles and waits for her beer. "Perhaps I should have a party. Haven't been to one in years. Not sure who I'd invite though."
Aylena returns with a bottle of a turian drink dubbed 'Turian Beer' for trying to replicate the human drink with dextro ingredients; but none can say for sure how similar they taste. She places it on the counter along with a glass before moving on to another patron. (Ehanis_Tioran)
Ehanis hums thoughtfully. "You should probably get to know a few people first," she says, "then let them invite their friends. Better lock some doors and hide valuables if you do that, though."
Sioria smirks. "Or, y'know, carry my gun. Nobody steals from a Turian with a gun." she gives a chuckle and sips her drink. "Thank you." She looks at Ehanis again. "As for valuables, I really don't have any.
Better to just lock most rooms where you don't want them to be. Drunks don't ask permission to lend your bedroom for... you know. I don't really know about this place, but a single shot could turn a party into a warzone on Omega.
Sioria nods slowly. "mmm... I accept drunks into my room, but only if I'm there too." she says, giving Ehanis a nudge. "But point taken. I haven't been in this city long enough to start a warzone."
Ehanis giggles, but takes a few seconds to respond. "I doubt it's that bad here, though," she says. "I don't feel the need for kinetic barrier clothing or looking for escape routes when out partying here."
Sioria smiles and chuckles. "Well. I hope I get invited to a party eventually." she says, swigging her beer from the bottle. "I think it'd be fun."
We could see if there's any in town we could go to some day, since it's cheaper for me to go there and back, than for you to go to one around where I live.
Sioria nods and smiles. "And hey, if you can't make it home, you can stay at mine." she says with a chuckle. "I'd like that."
Ehanis winks. "I'm sure you would," she says. "If others from around the homesteads near my place attend, getting home would be pretty cheap."
Sioria smirks and chuckles, then nods. "Well, yeah. But that'd mean they'd have to be sober enough to drive."
Ehanis smirks. "It's a few hours walk to my place, though," she says. "I don't think you'd walk to town everyday if you lived there."
Sioria shakes her head. "No I would not. Maybe jog back and forth for an excersise, but not for work." she says, then looks Ehanis over. "Hey, so... what're you up to today?"
Ehanis hums thoughtfully. "I told you, didn't I?" she says. "Just killing some time before shopping for another bed to put in my apartment so sis don't have to sleep on the couch."
Sioria blinks then scratches the back of her head. "Oh, that's today?" she asks, sounding a little disapointed. "Kinda thought we could hang out or something."
Ehanis smiles apologetically. "Sorry," she begins. "Didn't expect I'd see you here today, and we're hoping that she can check out of the room upstairs today. Maybe tomorrow?"
Sioria nods and smiles. "Yeah, sure." She then smirks. "Well... if you're all done by tonight..." she says, a little awkwardly. "You could.. always come back to mine..."
Ehanis tilts her head. "Didn't say what?" she jokes. "Maybe we can go to the range tomorrow, but not when they're closed?"
Sioria breathes an embarressed sigh of releif then nods. "Yeah, sounds good. I looked up the times and the evening is open, apparently."
Ehanis raises her brows. "Oh... fuck, how could I forget that," she says. "I left my purse at home. I'll bring it next time, I promsie."
So, it's open in the evening? I'll see if we can book in advance then, since that's when everyone's back from work and it's the only range in town, so I've heard.
Sioria nods and gives a small smile. "That'd be nice. I could always do it on my way home, its not that far out of the way."
Sioria smirks and nods before swigging her beer. "If you insist..." she says. "I guess I SHOULD stop paying for all your stuff."
Sioria "Nah, you didn't." she says, taking another drink. "Doesn't mean I didn't want to treat you though."
Sioria waggles her eyebrow-plates at Ehanis, putting a hand on hers. Its soooo cheesy, no way she's serious.
Ehanis stares at the turian, before she bursts out in laughter. "Goddess," she mutters once the laughter dies down.
Ehanis picks up her glass and drinks the remainder of the drink. "I think I should get going," she says. "So that me and sis can get the furniture shopping done before the stores close."
Sioria nods and sips her drink, standing up to give the asari a hug. "I'll see you tomorrow. Really good to see you again." She holds the hug for a little longer than necessary.
Ehanis returns the hug, not making a fuss over the armor diminishing the comfort of it a little bit. "You too," she says. "I'll call you when I'm in town."
Ehanis smirks. "Of course," she says. "And should I screw that up, I'll be with my sister. Her barriers could hold off a grenade launcher."
Ehanis nods. "See you," she says before leaving the bar. She makes her way upstairs to her sister's room.
Sioria can't help but watch as she leaves, taking in the view. She sighs and rubs her finger around the mouth of her bottle.
Sioria down the rest of her beer and gets up. She puts some creds on the bar and heads out the door while putting her helmet on
