#FreedomFalls – January 9, 2016
Sioria continues walking back to the Respite, hand in hand with Ehanis. "Sounds good to me." she says with a smile, referring to a shopping rain-check. "I might even let you be my fashion consultant."
Ehanis grins. "You'll regret that," she says. "Er, I mean. Thanks. I'll let you pick something for me, too,... as long as it's not a dancer uniform."
Sioria snaps her fingers. "Damn. Back to the drawing board..." she mutters jokingly. She squeezes Ehanis' hand a little. "Hey, when do you finish work tonight?" she asks. "If you're up for it, I've still got that half tub of ice-cream at home."
Late. I'm not sure if Mavus is on tonight, but the others are too nice to show unruly drunks the door.
Sioria smirks and nods. "Ah well. I'm sure it'll keep for now." she says, not showing any signs of disapointment. "When are you off next? Might think about treating you to dinner at mine. Might even be home-cooked instead of take out, if you're into that sort of thing."
Ehanis hums. "Depends how long Li is staying," she says. "I'll call you if there's time to sneak that in before work."
Sioria smiles warmly down at Ehanis. "I'd like that." she says, gripping her hand a little tighter. "I'll make sure to keep my coms with me. Even if you want to drop by, I'm mostly at home these days anyway, outside of my scheduled patrols."
Ehanis returns the smile. "I'll keep that in mind," she says. "I kind of have to be in town all day, being on call and all that, and the cheapest time to travel is when people go to work in the morning."
Sioria shrugs a little. "You know there's a bunch of spare bunks at mine should you need them. Or, y'know. My bunk's got a little extra room." She waggles her eye-ridges. "Ahem. But yeah, if its too late or you have an early shift, my place is always open."
Ehanis giggles. "Of course there is," she says. "Thanks. Shifts should be constant as long as the job stays simple and boring." She pauses. "I just have to remember to tell Mi' where I'm staying."
Sioria grins and nods. "I'll give you the pass code for the main gate whenever you wanna crash. I change it every few days, security reasons." she explains. "And if you need company at the job, I'll see if I can swing by. Hopefully won't be TOO much of a distraction."
Ehanis shrugs. "Distractions are fine," she says. "Especially on slow nights. I was a little annoyed at Va'ynna's constant interruptions at first when I started here, but when the other Redrock people came back, I kind of missed it."
Sioria nods as they turn a corner, headed back on the same route they came. "She's a unique one, that's for sure. Timid. Kinda like that janitor." She rubs her chin with a smirk. "She's always scurrying away when I look her way... anyway, Va'ynna's with Vicky now, ain't she?"
Sioria nods. "Yep, though, last time I saw it it was under a flight helmet." she says, then rubs the back of her head. "Heh... yeah... I should, uh... take my entrances a little slower huh." she says in a quieter voice.
Ehanis nods. "Yeah, do that," she says. "I'll know it's you if you pull that again, but Briggs might not."
Sioria nods a little more confidently. "Gotcha. Might help if I didn't go in with my full armour on, right?" she asks. "Another reason I need more clothes. All I have is this, under-fatigues, underwear, and that dress I got for our night out a few months back."
Sioria lets go of Ehanis' hand to give her a little spin to help her visualise her style, then takes her hand again. "Yeah, tomorrow. I'm pretty much off tomorrow, just going to be sitting in the radio room catching broadcasts. Y'know. Being nosy." she shrugs a little with a smirk. "And yeah, but I don't really like using it much. Just... isn't my preference."
Sioria "A pistol." she says, reaching back and tapping her rifle. "I'm proficient with a pistol, it just doesn't feel right."
Sioria "Mm, true. Might just start carrying it instead of my rifle when not on patrol." Sioria muses as they turn another corner. Not far to the respite now. "Gotta hit the range with it too, its been a while."
Ehanis sighs. "I don't know if Ilyna expects me to watch the kid every day or something when she's back to work."
Sioria lets go of Ehanis' hand in favour of wrapping her arm over her shoulders and pulls her into a half hug. "I'm sure she'll understand if you tell her you can't watch them EVERY day. That's a bit excessive, isn't it?"
Ehanis nods. "I guess she'd understand," she says. "The kid would probably not like it, either, but you know how impossible it is to find a reliable babysitter all the way out here."
Sioria shakes her head. "Heh, I actually don't know." she says with a light chuckle. "But I assume its tough. But its not like you're contracted to look after the kid 24/7, are you? You need some you time."
Ehanis hums thoughtfully. "I don't think so," she says, "but she's good friends with the managment. I'll tell her what I think about it, though."
Sioria gives her shoulder a small squeeze of encouragement. "Good. Always good to be clear." she says as they round the last corner towards the Respite. "and there it is, Respite sweet Respite."
Ehanis stops outside the Respite. "Sorry that our little walk went nowhere," she says with a sheepish smile. "I'll see you around." She glances inside, and sees Ilyna talking with Kanaya.
Sioria takes Ehanis' hand and grins. "Hey, any time spent with you ain't wasted." she says, leaning in and giving her a kiss on the cheek. "I better get going anyway, stuff to monitor and fix, patrols to do, etc etc. Call me, eh?" she asks as she lets go of her hand.
Ehanis nods. "Will do," she says. "Have fun." She smirks and turns around, then heads inside to meet up with Ilyna.
