#VVApartment – May 11, 2018
Va'ynna returns to the apartment at the end of another long day. She hangs up her jacket and a green scarf next to the door before going straight to the bathroom; she leaves the door open, though. She walked home with Uvena this time, but the two parted ways downstairs.
The weather outside is not pleasant in the slightest. The storm is still going on, visibility is reduced and the worst gusts of wind can be felt inside the apartment as a faint shudder.
Victoria wearing a few more layers than usual over her sleepwear, was sitting up in the bed waiting for Va'ynna to return home. She was hating this shift in the weather, and figured the bed would be the best place to wait. Upon seeing Va'ynna walk to the bathroom, she gives a wave. "Hey Sweetie."
Va'ynna does not give a response, instead grabbing a towel from the rack and wiping away the melting snow on her head.
Victoria hops out of bed and makes her way to the bathroom, she knocks on the door before entering. "Cold day, huh?" She tries to make conversation, wanting to see if Va'ynna might be annoyed about their earlier conversation.
Va'ynna runs the towel between the crests before dropping it on the ground next to her. "Yeah," she says flatly. "I-I should get some better winterwear." She looks down at the sink, opens the faucet and splashes some lukewarm water on her forehead.
Victoria gives a nod. "Yeah, I mean you can borrow some of my stuff to wear. But I think they might not be your size." She leans against the door frame and watches Va'ynna. "How was work?"
Va'ynna picks the towel back up, and wipes away the lukewarm water. "Same... as usual," she says. "We... have a new applicant for the kitchen, but D'Inea is too busy... to interview him."
Victoria gives a nod. "That sounds about right. She always seems to be too busy. If this guy gets hired, will you be able to get more time off?" She decided to ask, wanting to know if it does mean more time off for Va'ynna or not.
Va'ynna frowns. "I… hope," she says. "It could also mean… I'm at the bar all day instead." She hangs the towel back up and pulls her shirt over her head, which is a little awkward since she prevers the neckhole to be as modest as possible.
Victoria gives a sigh. "So it could be 50-50. Either more days with me or the same amount of days at work. I think, I might know what you would prefer." She gives a smile, trying to cheer her up. She stops leaning on the door frame. "You about to take a shower? Want me to leave?"
Va'ynna drops the shirt in the laundry basket. "I need… days to rest," she says while taking her pants off. "I… already make mistakes at the bar, and…." She sighs and shakes her head. "No, I… I'm not taking a shower."
Victoria stands in the doorway and nods at Va'ynna, knowing that Va'ynna needs a break from her work. "You need to tell D'Inea you need a break, you basically work slave hours." She pauses to hear what Va'ynna might say in response. "Do you want any warmer clothes for tonight? Don't know if it might get colder tonight."
Va'ynna seems thoughtful for a moment. "Yeah, I… suppose," she says. "I was about to suggest… I… I don't need it, because I have you, but…." She trails off as she takes off her socks and bra, but remains facing the laundry basket instead of turning towards Victoria.
Victoria did not dislike having Va'ynna to cuddle to fall asleep, but on a night like this, she might need something warmer for this weather. "But it will be too cold tonight?" Wondering if that is where Va'ynna was going.
Va'ynna shakes her head. "Well, yeah, that… that too, but… I'm also… I…" She sighs and walks out out of the bathroom, trying to slip past Victoria in the doorway.
Victoria blocks the doorway, wanting to hear what she had to say. "Oh, come on sweetie. You can tell me what you were about to say." She wanted to hear what she has to say, and continuing to block the door until she hears it. "You're also what?"
Va'ynna looks down, and closes her eyes. She looks briefly frustrated that her way is blocked. "It's… not-," she sighs, her expression softening again almost immediately. "I've been awful to you, Victoria. You… just… just lost your father, and… and… somehow I made it about me." Tears are starting to well up under her eyes.
Victoria shakes her head from side to side and then hugs Va'ynna. "It is okay, Vay. There is nothing you could do to hurt me." She stops for a moment and moves her head back to allow Va'ynna to look at her. "You're the... you're..." She stops and her cheeks redden.
Va'ynna tenses up at the hug, and doesn't return it. Her eyes also stay closed. "But… that… that doesn't mean I can… I can act like this," she says. "Even if… even if you're telling the truth that I can't…, I should still have been better to you."
Victoria cheeks redden less, and Vicky is quite thankful that Va'ynna did not question that stumble. "No one is perfect, Vay. I know that I ain't." She releases her hold on Va'ynna. "Plus, I did not know my father. So there is no sadness there, just regret."
Va'ynna sighs. "I… I'm not trying to be… 'perfect'," she says, some frustration seeping back into her voice as she walks towards the bedroom, "but I should be aiming above being… being a terrible girlfriend, and… a terrible daughter."
Victoria follows Va'ynna into the bedroom, she then moves to the drawer to find something warm for Va'ynna. "You are perfect to me. Plus I have probably had moments, when I am not a good girlfriend." She pauses, as she pulls out a pair of black sweatpants and blue sweatshirt. "Either way, if you think you were a terrible girlfriend, I forgive you." She figured that would make Va'ynna feel about herself.
Va'ynna nods. "Thank you," she murmurs and takes the offered clothes. "This isn't… fair. You do so much for me, but… but expect…. You should expect better." She starts putting the clothes on, starting with the sweatshirt.
Victoria places the sweatpants on the bed, and she then moves back to her previous spot on the bed. "You don't need to worry about that, Vay. I enjoy spending my time with you, and I treasure you." Her cheeks blush at saying something that sounded corny to her.
Va'ynna blushes as well at that while she puts on the sweatpants. "I… enjoy spending time with you too," she mutters before walking over to her side of the bed. She lifts the blanket and craws under it. With a deep sigh, she lays her head down on the pillow.
Victoria faces Va'ynna once the asari is under the covers. Vicky's cheeks are still slightly red. "I... I want you to know, Va'ynna. You're... the first person... that I have actually... loved." She stops for a moment, and her cheeks redden even more. "Figured, I would tell you that. So, yeah." She sounded a little embarrassed about admitting that.
Va'ynna listens to Victoria with closed eyes, they don't make her feel less terrible about herself. After a moment, she shifts her pillow a bit closer and opens her eyes again. "You weren't the first I asked for… more from, but… but… you were the first to ask that of me," Va'ynna says. "After getting to know me, I mean." She places a hand on Victoria's shoulder. "There were times… I… I was unsure about
Victoria gives Va'ynna a smile, and leans in to kiss Va'ynna on the lips. "I'm glad we ended up together to. I'm glad I grew on you." She keeps the smile on her face, feeling her embarrassment go away, but her cheeks still red.
Va'ynna gives a small smile, and blushes. "Yeah, you… really did," she says. She strokes her arm gently for a moment, looking a bit thoughtful. "I… I… could use… your advice," she says. "I… I said I was a terrible daughter too. What I meant is that… I… I know who stole my mother's car and caused her so… so much trouble, but… I also worry about telling her."
Victoria looks at Va'ynna and nods. "Okay, well. How about you tell me who stole it, and we can take it from there." She wants to help, but she needs to understand everything about this before giving any advice.
Va'ynna closes her eyes, looking very conflicted about telling Victoria. "It's… someone from Redrock Agency," she says. "Jason knows about it, at least when I suspected her, but… but if he hasn't told her, maybe… I… shouldn't?" She sighs. "But… I also don't want to keep lying to my mother by… by not telling her."
Victoria remains silent for a moment, trying to think of a reasonable answer for the issue. "I mean, you might need to find out if Jason is going to tell her. Because it might cause some issues for Redrock." She stops for a moment, still thinking about the situation. "Might also want to tell him that, you don't want to keep on lying about it."
Va'ynna hums thoughtfully. "That's what I'm worried about, causing… more trouble," she says and leans in for a quick kiss. "Thank you, I'll talk to Jason about it… when I get the chance to."
