#Miner'sRespite – February 20, 2019

It's a quiet mid afternoon in the Respite, and Va'ynna is struggling to stay awake as she waits for one of the two patrons at the bar to ask for service. Aylena is out there to take over when Victoria shows up, but there's not much talk to be had with her being buried in paperwork.

Victoria walked into the Respite with her sister, it seems like they were in a middle of a conversation when walking in. "Well, this is the place she works at." Victoria notices Va'ynna at the bar and gives her a wave.

Sarah followed her sister into the Respite, taking in her surroundings when entering. She sees her sister waving to an asari and assume that must be Va'ynna.

Va'ynna says something quietly to Aylena before leaving the bar, and she starts crossing the room. "Hey," she says as she gets within conversation distance. Her tiredness is still clear despite the slight boost in energy. She looks at Sarah. "It's... good to finally meet you." Va'ynna is a little lost at what to do or say beyond that.

Sarah smiles at the asari. "Hey there, it is good to meet you too. Va'ynna correct?" She stops when Vicky interupts her.

Victoria gives a slight smile when they greet one another. "Of course she is Va'ynna, Sara." She rustle her sister's hair, to her sister's discomfort. "Let go sit down in a booth. I am sure it will be better than just standing here." Vicky begins to lead the way to a booth.

Va'ynna frowns at Victoria, and gives her a stare that is all but saying 'hey, don't be mean'. She follows after her, looking at Sarah. "Victoria told me... that you two had some... Crease-mass plans," she says in an attempt to get past the awkwardness. "What is... that about?" Va'ynna has picked up bits and pieces about that holiday, but nothing coherent to tie it all together.

Sarah gives a grumble at Victoria, her tune switches upon hearing Va'ynna's question. "Oh, my idea was to have a Christmas lunch or dinner. Basically just a reason to get together and celebrate the season."

Victoria looks at Va'ynna with a smile saying 'I did nothing wrong.' She let her lover and sister talk. She takes a seat in the first free booth. "Basically a family meal, where we can give gifts if we want to."

Va'ynna slips in next to Victoria. "That sounds lovely," she says, still looking Sarah's way. "Is it a... new years celebration like Janiri? It's... not the same of course, but... it has some sort of gift giving."

Sarah thinks for a moment. "Well, sort of in a sense. Originally it was a religious holiday, celebrating the birth of the son of God. I mean, it is still a religious holiday, but people who don't follow it still celebrate it." She tries to give the basic origin story of Christmas.

"We just celebrate it as a time to get together and celebrate the company we keep. It is like a pre-new years celebration, just depends on your culture and religion, I guess." She adds to what her sister stated.

Va'ynna nods, giving a small smile. "I... wish I knew this... two days ago when I looked after a friend's daughter," she says. "Let me... know if I can help with preparations though, maybe... I can get the day off." She looks doubtful. She closes her eyes for a moment, frowning. "Sorry, we've just met, I didn't mean to...," she says, turning her attention back to Sarah. The tired asari loses her train of

thought for a moment, and decides to move on. "There's much more... important things to talk about, like ...embarrassing stories at Victoria's expense," she says with a tight-lipped smile. "Or actually... how did you find Victoria all the way out here?"

Victoria wraps her arm around Va'ynna neck and gives her a kiss on the cheek. "The only thing that needs to be done is cooking, and I don't think you would want to help there. So I can deal with that, just try to get the day off."

Sarah watches the interaction between the two and just smiles. "Oh, I had to find an information broker for that. Our parents never really told me what happened, but as I grew up I just knew something about it was not right." She gives a slight frown.

Va'ynna sighs at Victoria's refusal of her help. She would protest that this special occasional needs a professional were it not for Sara's answer taking her attention, and her more joking demeanor is overtaken by embarrassment. "Oh, uh... sorry, Victoria told me about...," she mumbles. "Is that... also how you found Victoria here? An information broker?"

Sarah see the asari is now embarrassed now. "It is alright, it is better to talk about things instead of remaining silent about it." She realise it is probably not the most joyful thing to talk about, but it is something that needs to be talked about. "Yeah, the information broker found out she was alive and offer to find out where for me. Of course for more credits."

Victoria remains silent for a time being, letting the two talk for now. She just listens for now. "Of course, they wanted more money. Probably already knew where I was."

Va'ynna tilts her head at Sarah's reaction to her embarrassment, but she mentions nothing of it. "It cannot be... easy to track someone down like that," she says. "Or maybe... Victoria had more notoriety in her... previous job... than the impression I got."

Sarah gives a nod and a frown. "The information broker did tell me what my sister use to do. But they did tell me she move into a more 'lawful' work."

Victoria went on the defensive "Hey, hey, hey. We are not talking about me and my other jobs. This is meant to be about getting along." She tries to joke her way out of the situation.
