#TheBarn – September 21, 2015
After reaching Aite, the SSV Teutoborg released Redrock's shuttle. The trip was largely uneventful, aside from Watty receiving some basic repairs to keep him running until Pip can get him back to the workshop, Jason and Viper being interviewed for information, and Halisi receiving medical attention by the Alliance doctor. Viper has been rather quiet during the trip, no doubt contemplating her fate and whether she can avoid it. The
Pip has been sat quietly the entire trip, not being very comfortable being on an Alliance vessel. She has relaxed slightly since then.
Jason has spent most of the trip onboard the Teutonburg at the medbay, making sure the rascally doctor didn't try getting a look at Vasquez' implant. On the shuttle, he's been mostly poking at his omni-tool.
Jasper makes an announcement as they near their destination. "Welp, we're just 'bout home, folks. As much as I know ya'll love this cramped lil' ol' thing, yer gon' hafta get out soon."
Skythix spent her time on the trip home with Zaylus, mostly just avoiding the human crew whenever possible. They weren't the same military familiy she had and had no reason to try and make a new one. On the shuttle back home to Freedom Falls, she would just be sitting peacefully while occasionally minding her gear.
Renala has spent most of the time trying to sleep, but has been awake for the entire shuttle trip so far. "About time," she mutters. (Ilyna_T`Rea)
Ilyna smiles slightly at the announcement. She has informed her sister when they'll be arriving once the shuttle was within Extranet coverage.
Adam is leant on the wall outside the Redrock hangar personnel entrance, being in the general vicinity since the early morning. The man has extraordinary patience. He would've waitied inside the hangar itself if the entrance wasn't locked.
Steve has done a bit of pacing onboard the cramped shuttle since they left the Teutonburg. He's currently just in his seat beside Renala. He becomes relieved as soon as Jasper makes the announcement.
Va'ynna approaches door to the Redrock hangar, as the news eventually reached her. "Hey," she says as she noticed the familiar man from yesterday. "I... was going to send you a message, but... wanted to tell Jason you were looking for him first." (Ilyna_T`Rea)
Halisi looks around to the others in the shuttle and speaks up. "Jasper?" She says, loud enough for the pilot to hear. "Could you land by the hospital first, so that I can take those that need immediate additional care?" She glances around at the others again. "That's, uh... that's most of you, I guess. Zaylus, Skythix, Jason, Steve, Ilyna, Pip. And... and Vasquez."
Zaylus rests with his hands in his lap, looking anxiously about the cabin, as pleased as the rest about landing soon.
Jasper calls back without taking his eyes off the interface. "Absolutely. Sounds like a plan. You able to call it in so they can have some people ready to help with the Chief?" he asks as he changes courses, heading towards the hospital.
Skythix was reminded about her aching side at the mention of a hospital. She wasn't sure how excited she was about admitting to refusing treatment back on the Alliance vessel.
Ilyna nods and enables her omni-tool to write a quick message to her sister about the change of destination.
Adam is clad in his HK armour and sporting his weapons. The Death Mask is tucked under his right arm. He smiles at Va'ynna, a polite look. "Hello again," he says with a slight chuckle. "I decided that waiting here was the preferable option. My search for Mendez and this Leah was rather fruitless."
Jasper slowly lowers the shuttle down towards the hospital. "Alright, folks. Scoop up yer gear and get outta here." he says with a jovial chuckle, "Jus' kiddin'. Anyone that ain't hurt is more than welcome to come with me back to the hangar. Whatever is more convenient fer ya."
Halisi unbuckles as the shuttle lands, grabbing her medical satchel and looking around at each of the people she listed as if to make sure none of them are gonna run off without getting treated.
Va'ynna tilts her head. "I... didn't expect them to come home today, or... tomorrow," she says. "They should be here now, though." (Ilyna_T`Rea)
Adam glances to the side. "I hope so," he sighs. "Each day passing is another day that Damien is missing...". He turns his gaze back to Va'ynna. "What can you tell me about Jason Wolfe? Just so I know how to approach him."
Skythix was about to remain seated but the look from Halisi only reminded her of her old medics. They always found out when you were injured and would make sure you made it to the clinic whether you wanted to or not. She released her harness and picked up all of her gear, stopping at the rifle. "I don't think the hospital's gonna like me carrying all this heat."
Jason unharnesses himself and slides his two cases against the wall. "Just leave my gear in the shuttle, Jasper." he calls out to the pilot, "I'll pick it up later." He moves over by Vasquez' side and waits for people to arrive to take care of her. "I'm only here for her, Doc." he informs Halisi with a raised eyebrow, "I'm all good. They patched me up fine back there." He pats his side
Pip sighs, slowly standing up after releasing her harness. She pats Watty on the head and instructs him to remain on the shuttle until she comes back.
Halisi looks first to Skythix as she speaks. "I'm sure you can leave your equipment here too." She looks at Jason. "Right?"
Ilyna stands up from her seat and starts gathering the few armor pieces she couldn't stuff into her bag. "I could really use a proper meal, it's almost been a full day since I last had one."
Jason gives a nod. "Yeah, yeah. You can swing by and pick it up whenever. It's no big deal." he says.
Steve scoops up his bag after unbuckling himself and glances over at Renala. "You gonna get that arm looked at, Ren?" he asks.
Halisi looks at Ilyna with a raised eyebrow. "Of course. I'm keeping you all overnight at the very least. You'll have food."
Skythix put her weapons, her bag of tools, and the case for her armor back down in storage on the shuttle. "Alright." She says with a sigh. She slowly left the shuttle as to not agitate her injuries anymore than they already were. Even with painkillers her head still hurt.
Once the door of the shuttle opens, two nurses come to fetch Vasquez, putting her on a stretcher and starting to roll her to the hospital.
Va'ynna hears her omni-tool beep and frowns as she looks over the message. "Looks like they're going to the hospital," she says. "It's not far, I think." She disables her omni-tool. "Jason is friendly, and not... often very serious if you get to know him," she says, "but you... should probably act professional around him. I... don't really know." (Ilyna_T`Rea)
Renala sighs and gets up. "Yeah," she says. "That's what she told me on the ship. Hopefully it's just a quick check." (Ilyna_T`Rea)
Ilyna picks up her bag and starts moving outside, and towards the hospital door once she sees it. She's in a black t-shirt and simple pants, shivering a bit in the chilly autumn weather outside.
Steve gives a nod to Renala. "I certainly don't plan on stayin' overnight." he mutters. He gives a glance up towards the cockpit and gives a quick wave in Jasper's direction. He cranes his neck to the side to look at Viper, "Take care of yourself, Gremlin. If I never see ya again it'll be too soon." he calls out before stepping out of the shuttle.
Halisi stops, looking at Steve. "You have several gunshot wounds. You will be staying at least one night unless you want permanent damage to your limbs."
Adam hums. The hospital? Alright, new destination it seems. "I hired a skycar until I could sort something more permanent," he begins, pulling on his helm. His voice now carries a more electronic tone to it. "And since we both came to greet them, do you mind showing me the way to the hospital?" He waits for an answer before continuing the conversation.
Renala chuckles. She picks up her backpack, but leaves the armor and helmet behind. "I'll come pick it up at the hangar tomorrow," she says, gesturing towards it. She then makes her way out of the shuttle. (Ilyna_T`Rea)
Steve rolls his eyes. "How do you figure? You got the shrapnel out. Patched me up. Right? How the hell is layin' in a hospital bed for the next day gonna prevent more damage?"
Halisi would assign a bed to each injured Redrock member, placing all of them in the same patient room aside from Vasquez, who is taken to surgery. The others would all have their injuries examined, recieving appropriate medication to dull pain and accelerate healing, and for some of them, a fresh coat of medigel. Pip would be brought to an operation room for surgery to have her bones put back into place and make sure they heal right.
Every one of them would have strict instructions not to leave - and likely be too drugged up to do so at least for the time being. Food would be served to all, even the dextros. Hardly appetizing, but nutritious enough. The only entertainment in the patient room is a single TV that they have to share. Steve's complaints would be adressed with the fact that movement could cause severe damage to his muscle tissue at this point,
crippling his limbs. When the treatments for all but Vasquez are done it would be sometime past midnight.
Va'ynna nods. "It's... the next building down the street," she says. "I... think it's to our left if we go outside." (Ilyna_T`Rea)
Jason would make sure to smugly wave to some familiar nurses as he made his way down the hospital halls.
