#Hospital – September 21, 2015
Jason glances over at Skythix. "Put on soma asajura." he says, not making much effort to get out of his bed, "Everything goes better with asajura. Even gunshot wound treatment."
Adam , after commenting on the convienency of the hospital being so close by, had begun walking towards it, presumeably with Va'ynna in tow. "I assure you," he starts, returning back to their earlier conversation. "I pride myself on professionalism." He says this without arrogance, more along the line of fact. After all, it is required with being an officer in the alliance.
Skythix pointed the remote at the tv and shook her head. "I have no idea what that even is. So we're gonna watch the Palaven Gladitorial Championships." She said before swapping the current news broadcast to a scene of an arena. A 3v3 match was currently underway where the turians were dressed in old fashioned looking armor and swinging equally old looking weapons at each other. "Yeah! Put
Va'ynna is indeed following him. "That's... good," she says, looking over the lobby. "The VI... is broken, so we'll have to ask someone for directions." (Ilyna_T`Rea)
Jason frowns. "The hell is this shit?" he groans, "Look at what they're wearing! Asajura!" he repeats, sitting up on his bed, "Trust me, you'll love it."
Zaylus rubs the plates above his eyes wearily. "I never understood this game." He mutters, gesturing toward the tv.
Steve lets out a deep, loud sigh. "How 'bout you just turn the damn thing off? If I gotta be stuck in a room with you jackasses, how 'bout we at least keep it quiet?"
Ilyna is currently eating the food she was served, a second plate of it in fact. She glances at the TV every now and then, but doesn't say anything.
Skythix frowned at Jason. "This is the international championship and you want me to change to asajenga--... What the hell even is that?" Her frown turned to a scowl now at Zaylus. "Oh come on. I would have thought you out of everyone would have wanted to watch this." She says while flicking a hand at the tv. At Steve's whining, she chose to simply sit back into her bed... and raise the volume
Jason corrects the turian. "Asajura! And it's-...." he pauses, "Well they-............. The goal is to........... Asari....." He scrunches up his nose and gazes distantly at the screen. "....You gotta see it to really understand it..." he mutters.
Adam decides to take his death mask off to appear less intimidating to the staff of the hospital. He tucks it under his arm and walks towards the reception.
The reception is worked by a human man. He puts his omni-tool away as Adam approaches, looking at him expectantly.
Zaylus | "Oh no, I really love..." He watches with an unimpressed, almost confused look. "...this. It's my favorite." He proclaims disingenuously, though still continues to watch.
Adam smiles. "Excuse me, we're looking for Jason Wolfe's room, please," he says gesturing between him and Va'ynna. "It's rather urgent."
Skythix didn't look impressed by Jason's explanation. "You're just blinded by the blue, as they say." She said with a smirk. "Why not just sit back and watch a real sport." She pointed at the tv just in time to see a red armored turian nailing a purple armored one with a large club looking weapon, followed by a roaring crowd cheering. She pumped a fist and not so silently cheered to herself.
She then waved a hand dismissivley at Zaylus. "I'll chalk it down to you being too young to understand."
Jason furrows his brow and stares at the screen for a few moments. "Real sport." he repeats, "Am I to assume that will begin when this bull ends?" he asks, glancing back at Skythix with a confused expression.
Adam Barclay. I'm a private investigator. I was hired by a concerned party in regards to the disappearance of one of Mr. Wolfe's employees. I was just hoping to ask him so questions. The lady beside me is a close friend of Mr. Wolfe and has kindly brought me to him.
Zaylus squints his eyes at the screen, as if trying hard to unlock its secrets. "You know, I think I'm alright with that." He mutters, giving a tilt of the head. "What're you doin there, buddy?" He whispers, apparently directed at a televised turian.
The nurses studies Va'ynna for a moment, typing something on his omni-tool. After a short wait he gestures down the corridor to the right. "Room three."
Skythix glanced once at Jason before staring back at the tv. "You'll figure it out I'm sure." She grew up watching this with her parents so it was engrained in her. She also absolutely loved the blood sport.
Va'ynna nods, offering a small smile. "Thank you," she says, and starts walking towards the corridor. (Ilyna_T`Rea)
Adam nods. "Thank you, sir." He starts to make his way down the corridor to the right and towards room three. "Probably best if you go in before me and explain to him who I am," he says to Va'ynna.
Skythix dangled the remote in the air. "Sorry, Wolfe, but I hold the power here." She said with a toothy grin.
Ilyna finishes with her meal and puts the plate down on the nearest table. She then looks towards the screen without a word.
Jason gives the turian a wink. "Maybe. But I hold the paychecks." he says with a lopsided grin, followed by a goofy, evil laugh. He cuts it off short as he spots an asari-shaped intruder poking inside.
Skythix shook her head and groaned at Jason. She knew he was joking around but damn would she quit if she didn't get paid. When he stopped his rediculous show, she followed where he looked to see a familiar asari. "Oh! Hey Vay! You here to visit the sick and injured as the angel you are?" She said with a funny smile.
Va'ynna steps inside. "Hey," she says with a smile. "Yeah, that's... why I'm here." She starts walking towards Jason, looking for a place to sit. (Ilyna_T`Rea)
Jason gives a pat on the spot beside him on the bed. "Pretty soon this is gonna become our regular hangout place, V." he jokes.
Adam steps into view, one hand tucked behind his back and his posture smart and rigid, giving credit to his militaristic background. He waits within the doorway until he is invited in, though he cuts the rather imposing figure in his hahne-kedar armour with his death mask tucked under his arm.
Va'ynna sits down where he patted, frowning. "You should... do something about that, like... not getting hurt," she says before looking at the doorway. "That's... Adam Barclay. I met him at the spaceport. He... has been looking for you." (Ilyna_T`Rea)
Jason glances over towards the doorway, studying the man for a few moments. "And what exactly is his business with me?" he asks the asari cautiously, keeping his gaze on the man.
Skythix simply looks at the new arrival once before being much more interested in the TV. Score! The red team clean sweeped the purple team.
Jason seems to relax slightly at Va'ynna's explanation. At least it's not another nut looking to kill him. "Oh...." he says with a nod, standing from his position and heading towards the door. "Yeah, I know..." he says with a sigh, "...I take it you're a friend?"
Steve rolls over and glances at what's happening, but quickly covers his head with his pillow once more as the action on TV gets loud again.
Adam smiles politely and extends his hand towards Jason for him to shake, once he is close enough. "I'm actually his brother," he corrects.
Zaylus glances between the television and the human guest, unable to decide which is least interesting to him.
Jason reaches out and takes the man's hand, giving it a firm shake. He lets out a small sigh and nods at the correction. "Brother." he repeats. "So if you're here, I suppose it's safe to assume he hasn't been in touch with his family since he up and vanished on us?"
Adam releases Jason's hand, slowly shaking his head. "My last contact with him was just shy of a month ago," he explains. "I was hoping you could shed some light on the situation, being that you and him got into a rather heated confrontation."
Va'ynna looks at the others in the room. "How... did the mission go?" she asks, her question targeted at nobody specific. "I... thought you would be gone for a few more days." (Ilyna_T`Rea)
Jason sighs and allows his hand to hang at his side. "He was struggling with a few things." he says, "A lot of stress. But he seemed ready and eager to move forward and join us on this job. Then a few of my employees tell me he just up and took off. Apparently he was struggling with a lot more than he let on." He rolls his shoulders in a shrug and gives the man a sympathetic look, "I'm
sorry. I wish I knew more, but this sort of thing happens. This line of work can be stressful. Sometimes it gets to be too much. We get plenty of people who just pack up and take off." he casts a glance back at Zaylus momentarily, "Hopefully he'll get a little time to figure things out and get back in touch with someone."
Skythix looked away from the TV to answer Va'ynna. "Honestly, I don't know if you'd believe me even if I told you." She said with a strange look to her face. "But we're all alive so that part is good." She manages to catch the small glance that Jason gave to Zaylus. She wondered what that was about.
Zaylus has begun listening in on Jason's conversation, though still appears to be watching the game. He can almost feel the look, shifting a little in response.
Va'ynna nods. "That's great to hear," she says with a smile. "I... was worried." She fidgets with her hands. (Ilyna_T`Rea)
Adam looks down to the side, a frown creasing his brow. "I don't believe that he would just up and leave," he says after a few moments. He looks back up at Jason, giving the man an even look. "That's not how he's wired." His frown deepens. "But just what kind of work was he participating in?"
Jason gives a shake of his head. "Now you know I can't go into that." he says apologetically, "I know he had a few personal issues going on outside of work, too-..." He pauses, seemingly realizing something through his medicated haze. "Sorry. That's really not my business to go spreading. All I can really do is pass along the message that you're looking for him if he shows back up around
This is my brother we are talking about, Mr. Wolfe. He has been missing for a week now and, if I can recall, disappeared without any of his personal belongings. Furthermore, he hasn't a home to return to as he has affectively been evicted, which indicates his funds have dried up. So, with all due respect, I would like to know what you have been putting him through that has caused him to confront you, his employer, and then run off without a credit to his name.
Halisi stops on her way down the hallway, approaching the patient room more slowly. She waits outside, listening on the conversation with a hand on her omni-tool.
Adam has taken a step towards Jason as he spoke, his persona slowly slipping into his old habits of an officer.
Jason sighs loudly. "Unfortunately, that's just not the way this works. I'm sorry. Your brother is a part of my team and I'd love nothing more than to have him back. He's a good soldier. But I don't know you." he says honestly. giving a slight shrug, "I have no way of even confirming that you are his brother. Or that he would want you to find him. I'll do what I can to track him down.
If I manage to find him, I'll make sure he knows his brother is looking for him." he says once more, "But that's the best I can do."
Adam takes a step back, sighing quietly. "Alright. I understand," he says, concern about Damien clouding his mind. He takes a moment to clear his head before continuing. "I'd ask that you would contact me if anything turns up. Anything. You can get my details from Va'ynna or at the Respite."
Skythix had actually lowered the tv's volume during the conversation so that she could hear the two speak.
Jason gives a nod. "I really do wish you luck." he says, maintaining eye contact in hopes that the man won't simply think he's being difficult for the sake of being difficult, "But my loyalty is to my employees first and foremost. Damien is smart and knows how to take care of himself. He knows that if he needed any help, my agency would stand beside him, so I'm sure he's fine. Probably just
needed some time away from everything and clear his head." he says, attempting to comfort the man's concerns.
Adam nods once. "I can respect that," he says. "So I hope you understand-". The muttering man draws his attention briefly before refocusing his attention back to Jason. "-understand why I'm not entirely pleased with you withholding information. But again, I understand and will respect that."
Va'ynna is looking at the screen, but does glance towards Jason and Barclay every now and then. She is listening to their conversation. (Ilyna_T`Rea)
Jason gives a nod and reaches out to pat the man on the shoulder. "Good luck with everything." he says, "And if you find Monroe before I do, tell him he owes me a beer for cutting out on this job." he jokes, hoping to ease any tension at play.
Adam allows for a quiet chuckle at Jason's attempt at easing the tension. "I wouldn't him buying you one. That's certainly not like him. However, before I go, could you direct me to a doctor with experience dealing with cybernetics?" He asks with a pointed glance at Jason's arms.
Jason blinks a couple times and glances down at his arms, "Uhh... Well, I mean, you're in the right place." he says with a lopsided grin, "I'm sure there's a few people around here that could help you out, but if you're looking for specifics, it's probably best if you ask some staff. I'm sure someone could point you in the right direction."
Adam smiles politely. "Right. Well, thank you for your time, Mr. Wolfe," he says with a slight bow of his head. He glances around at the other occupants of the room, seemingly noting their presence for the first time. "I hope you and your team recover swiftly."
Jason takes a couple steps back and gestures towards the rest of the room. "What, this? Nahhh, this is just our R&R." he jokes as he retakes his seat back beside Va'ynna.
Skythix raises the volume of the tv back to what it was as if to confirm that they were, indeed, just relaxing. She even pointed her thumb at the screen just as a turian got kicked off of a makeshift looking boulder left in the arena.
Adam laughs politely as he turns and exits the room. He stops just outside the room and looks down at Halisi, having caught the woman from the corner of his eye. His gaze lingers on her for a moment, before redirecting down to her open omni-tool. "Eavesdropping, doctor?" He asks with a kindly smile.
Halisi looks up, appearing as if she has been reading from the screen. "Just waiting for my turn." She says with a polite smile.
Adam nods. "Of course, forgive me." He steps away from the door. "I assume you heard the latter of our conversation?" He asks.
Va'ynna winces at seeing the turian on the screen get kicked off. "That... must have hurt," she says. (Ilyna_T`Rea)
Skythix nodded along with Zaylus and Va'ynna. "Oh I'm sure it did. It's fine though. They have professional medical teams on stand by if anyone gets seriously hurt but no one's dumb enough to actually try and really hurt someone else." She said with a wide smile. Her favorite team was currently playing, the Lightning Lanuras.
Adam nods once again. "Implants, to be specific. They're due for a check up and my dedicated doctor is unfortunately out of reach."
Ilyna lays her head down on her pillow, and closes her eyes, but it's way too noisy for her to sleep.
Halisi nods. "That shouldn't be a problem. Talk to the receptionist and he'll schedule a time for you."
Adam smiles politely. "Thank you, doctor. I won't take up anymore of your time." As he turns, small features would bare a resemblance to Damien. Height is almost identical. Similar jaws and smiles. He strides down the corridor, his smile vanishing at his rather fruitless questioning. Another dead end, it seems.
Va'ynna nods. "I... understand," she says. "It's on... Palaven, right?" She then looks at Jason. "Did... nobody else support you?" (Ilyna_T`Rea)
Skythix nodded at Va'ynna. "Yup. There's leagues on almost every colony but this is the main one on Palaven. My dad brought me to see it once a long time ago in the big arenas. I loved that day."
Skythix looked at Zaylus and nodded slowly. "My father took leave from the military to fly me and my mother out to Palaven for a vacation. It's so much crazier than the colony I grew up on. Felt good being on the soil of the homeworld too." She said with a small grin. The patriotism ran deep in her familiy.
Va'ynna moves up a hand to awkwardly pat his shoulder, before she gets upt. "I promised Kanaya I wouldn't be too long," she says. "It's... great to see you all made it home." (Ilyna_T`Rea)
Zaylus pulls a thoughtful look, giving a flat "huh" as his reply as he considers her words, gaze drifting back to the screen.
Jason stands up along with Va'ynna and gives the asari a quick hug. "Thanks for stopping by, V." he says, "I'll catch up with you as soon as they let me out of this dungeon."
Va'ynna returns the hug. "Mhm," she says. "Please... send me a message when you're out." (Ilyna_T`Rea)
Skythix waved at the asari as she started to leave. "See you later, Vay. We'll hang out sometime, yeah?" She said to Va'ynna before seeing that Zaylus clearly wasn't going to respond to her. So she decided to just keep watching the game on the tv.
Jason gives her a nod. "Will do." he agrees, "...If I remember...." he adds before plopping back down onto his bed. "Take care of yourself, V."
Va'ynna smiles. "You too," she says before turning towards the turian. "I'll... see you. I haven't forgotten your earlier offer about that. Meet me... when you're out. You know where to find me." She starts walking towards the doorway. (Ilyna_T`Rea)
