#RedrockAgency – May 16, 2016
Vasquez joins Jason and Cynthia by the door, now wearing her jacket, and immediately opens the door to lead the way across the parking lot towards the car. (Tyranniac)
Jason follows along, slipping his own jacket on as he does. "So are you still with the Alliance?" he asks, cocking a head towards Cynthia as he zips his jacket up.
Cynthia nods as she follows alongside Jason. She gives an exaggerated shiver at the cold and zips up her own jacket. "Yep. Not active duty anymore though. Chief's told me you were Alliance too?" (Tyranniac)
Vasquez nods slightly but leaves Jason to response, her focus on the car as she opens it up and takes the driver's seat. (Tyranniac)
Jason gives a quick nod of his own as he reaches the car. He gives a glance over to Cynthia, waiting to see where she'd prefer to sit before climbing in. "Yeah. Up until a few years back, I was." he admits. "Crazy how long ago that feels now." he adds with a chuckle, furrowing his brows and glancing over to Vasquez, "Isn't it?"
Vasquez looks over to Jason and nods faintly, a distant frown on her face. "Yeah... a lot's happened since then." (Tyranniac)
Cynthia takes one of the back seats, looking between the two of them with a small smile. "Alright, let's grab some grub! I'm starving!" she exclaims, placing a hand on each of their backrests. (Tyranniac)
Jason slides into the passenger's seat and shuts the door behind him. He glances back to Vasquez, but Cynthia's enthusiasm pulls his attention back. "Sounds like a plan!" he agrees, "You're gonna like this place."
Vasquez smirks slightly and nods as she takes the car out to the road and starts driving into town. "Food's not too bad. I still miss the Den's varren kebabs though. They do them different out here..." (Tyranniac)
Jason gives a chuckle and shakes his head. "Fortune's Den." he says, glancing back over his shoulder to Cynthia. "Place we used to pretty much live at back on Omega. Bit rowdier than the place we're going tonight, but we had plenty of good times there."
Cynthia chuckles slightly and looks to Vasquez. "Omega...? You kinda glossed over that part..." she says with a nudge and a small grin before turning back to Jason. "Rowdier is one word for it... what were you guys doing on a shithole like that?" (Tyranniac)
Vasquez continues to drive the car towards the Respite, giving only a grunt in response to Cynthia at first, but quickly adding. "...it wasn't for all that long." (Tyranniac)
Jason gains an uncomfortable look for a moment and simply shrugs. "I-... It's not important." he finally says with a sigh, "...But that was where I signed on for the ExoGeni security gig where I met this bag of sunshine." he says, hoping to avoid having to explain why he was on Omega as he leans over and gives Vasquez a playful nudge.
Vasquez lets out a grunt, but smirks faintly as she shoots him a glance. She slows down as they approach the Respite, and she pulls into the parking lot, taking a spot and coming to a stop. (Tyranniac)
Cynthia furrows her eyebrows at Jason's look, but grins when he continues, and she nods. "Yeah, I've been told as much. I'm gonna need all the details I didn't get though!" (Tyranniac)
Jason waits for the vehicle to stop before climbing out with a shake of his head. "What's there to tell? She was pretty much head over heels in love with me from the moment she first laid eyes on me." he says with a lopsided smirk as he tucks his hands into his pockets, "And she made sure she let me know it, too. With a mean right hook."
Vasquez rolls her eyes on her way out of the car, but after she closes the door lighthearted annoyance turns gloomy, and she makes sure not to look at him as her gaze turns to the Respite. (Tyranniac)
