#Miner'sRespite – February 23, 2019

Va'ynna gives a brief tight-lipped smile at Victoria's poorly disguised defensiveness. "You have nothing to... worry about," she says, looking at Sarah. "It's... hard to believe Victoria ever had that 'job'."

Victoria gives a sigh "I am going to grab a drink, anyone want something." Her next attempt to escape the conversation about her old work, and save herself the explaination of her old work. She slides out of the booth and waits to hear anyone's answer.

Sarah gives a nod "I did not believe it at first. Even after I saw her now, it would be the last thing I thought she would do." Looks to her sister for quick moment. "Oh, I would like a water. If that is alright."

Va'ynna allows Victoria to slip past her, though not without a sigh of her own. "I don't need anything," she says. She moves to take the innermost seat so that Victoria don't need to pass her on the way back.

Victoria gives a quick nod and leaves to get herself a drink of rum and coke, and her sister a drink of water.

Sarah gives a quick smile to Va'ynna. "Now that Vicky is gone, how did you two meet? I did not want to get her little twists on that story." She seemed interested in knowing about how her sister and Va'ynna started.

Va'ynna seems like she's about to ask something when she gets the question from Sarah. "Our first meeting?" Va'ynna looks down for a moment, trying (and failing) to suppress a grin at the memory. "It... was weird. Victoria just sat down next to me and it was... just weird." Va'ynna wanted to say creepy, but she felt that would drag down the mood. "I... didn't reciprocate... of course, but she... never stopped

trying."

Sarah raises an eyebrow, kind of understanding what Va'ynna meant. "Really, she was one of those types? Did she at least get better as time went on?" Wanting to know if her sister changed her methods from what they use to be.

Victoria was at the bar waiting to get her drinks, she rubbed her face with her hand realising the mistake she has made letting her lover and sister meet one another.

Va'ynna shakes her head, casting a glance towards Victoria. It's a quiet afternoon, so she knows very well that she may overhear her. "No, but... circumstances changed," she says. "She became a good friend, and... was there for me when... I badly needed someone."

Sarah gives a smile at the last part of Va'ynna sentence. "Well, I am happy for you two. You both seem good together, which makes me glad to see." She looks towards her sister and then back to Va'ynna. "She told me it was just her stunning good looks and great charisma."

Victoria looks towards Va'ynna and gives a slight smile. Upon receiving her drinks, she begins to return to the booth with the water and rum. "I mean, I am stunning and great at talking."

Va'ynna brings up a hand to her mouth, scrunching up as she tries and fails to suppress laughter. "Goddess, I... can believe she would say that," she says. "If anything, it was... her perseverance." She looks up at Victoria, feigning embarrassment at their conversation being overhead. "I... can grant you one of those."

Victoria passes the water to her sister, and takes a sip of her own drink. "Pfft, I think you mean both. I am a great catch." She leans over and gives Va'ynna a kiss on the cheek and whisper so that only Va'ynna may hear. "I'll show you why later." She goes back to leaning in her seat and takes another sip of her drink.

Sarah gives a laugh as well upon hearing Va'ynna's laugh. Once her sister bring her water to her, she takes a quick drink and just shakes her head at her sister's antics.

Va'ynna leans away with a sigh after Victoria whispers to her. "Victoria tried her... luck with two other asari before meeting me... at least," she says. "Neither of them... even looks like me." Va'ynna isn't sure why she's being so mean to Victoria, but her own immediate justification boils down to Victoria setting the rules when she ruffled her sister's hair in front of Va'ynna. Feeling a little bad for it

regardless, she tries to change the subject. "Victoria told me you work at the hospital," she says. "How... is that going?" Va'ynna frowns. "I hope you haven't met... many from Redrock yet," she adds. "They're... frequent customers and sometimes... difficult."

Victoria actually looks a little sad that she did not get a reaction from Va'ynna and her previous attempts at flirting. "Little bit heartless today, ain't ya?" Takes another sip of her drink.

Sarah looks between the two. "Is that right, I guess that leaves my sister with a bad name for herself." Upon hearing question about her work, it changes her tone. "My work there is going good. I only have met Jason, but that was because I was trying to find Victoria. Apart from meeting him, I have met no one else from there."

Va'ynna wraps an arm over her shoulder briefly and gives her a gentle squeeze. "It's your fault," she mumbles before addressing Sarah's answer. "Jason is... a great friend, and has principles you... wouldn't expect to find out here, especially in... his field."

Sarah gives a nod "He did seem different from the sterotype I was told about." She took another sip of her water.

Victoria gives a sigh at Va'ynna response. "That hurts me. Don't know what I have done to deserve this."

Va'ynna leaves Victoria to think about it for the time being. "Most people I've met that... work there have been... good to me," she says. "Some have even stepped in for me at the bar when... I've been exceptionally tired." There's also saving her life more than once, but that's not a subject for a meeting her lover's family.

Sarah gives a nod and a smile. "Really? That is great to hear. These guys don't sound like the typical mercenary groups you hear about." She was surprised by the fact that they seem to do kind things out of friendship.

Victoria leans back in her seat and lets her lover and sister talk. She did not see what she might have done wrong to get herself in trouble with Va'ynna.
