Jessica snorts loudly at the expression on Yan Sun's face and gives a roll of her eyes. She continues to gently brush along the side of Yan Sun's head a few more times even after the stray hairs have been dealt with, enjoying the distinct, prickly feeling of stubble against her fingers, thumb tracing along the geometric pattern. For a moment, she merely studies the woman she's straddling, her grin tempering into something a bit softer.

Yan Sun 's nerves actually seem to ease a little with the gentle stroking, and a smile tugs at the corner of her mouth when her gaze meets Jessica's, although the question makes her swallow and nod slightly.
Jessica's gaze remains fixed to Yan Sun's eyes for a beat longer before she utters a quiet, "Okay." Her free hand turns to Yan Sun's chin and gently urges her head to the side a bit more. Her hand remains there to keep her head in place and she shifts a little in an attempt at bettering her balance so she doesn't slip right off of Yan Sun's lap. With a flick of her right thumb, the buzzing of the razor comes to life.
Paige lets out a concerned noise, the wince on her face practically heard through it when Jessica turns the razor on, but her distressed noise quickly devolves into giggled laughter that's soon joined by others.
Rafe has a hearty chuckle along with the others as Jessica plops down in Yan Sun's lap. But, as the strangely intimate moment between the pair stretches on, his smile seems to grow a bit heavier. It doesn't help matters that Yan Sun is pretty much facing him as Jessica clears the hair from the side of her head. It's probably not hard to decipher the sort of thoughts that are going through his head. Or the hurt that's hiding just beneath that
heavy smile. But he doesn't look away when his eyes meet Yan Sun's. And while he doesn't try to mask that pain, somewhere amongst the complicated feelings bouncing around in his chest, there's also understanding. Despite any bitterness there might be lurking deep within, how can he be angry at the person that's putting a smile on Jessica's face? He's quick to prop his smile back up as the razor roars, blinking away those unwanted
thoughts as he settles against the backrest of his chair. "Hope you look good bald, Yan!" he teases as Jessica finds the edge of her hairline with the razor.
Yan Sun 's expression changes a bit as her eyes meet Rafe's for just a moment - she's quick to look away in the face of the complicated emotions visible there, a bit of guilt visible - not that she's done anything wrong, but Rafe has made a good impression and she's certainly not the sort to find satisfaction in his hurt. When he speaks she lets out a worried chuckle, shooting a glare his way. "Shut up." she snaps nervously, closing her eyes
hard as she feels the razor descending on her hairline, wondering to herself if today will mark the last day she takes off her beanie in a few years.
Jessica's face contorts back into a look of focus as she drags the razor along the side of Yan Sun's head in long, slow passes. She's careful to maintain her hairline despite that impish voice deep inside tempting her with promises of how funny it would be to just shave a line right across the top of Yan Sun's head. She keeps her hand on Yan Sun's chin, occasionally tilting her head this way and that to get a better angle. After a few
minutes- when the deed has been done- the constant humming of the razor finally dies out and she uses her thumb to brush away some loose bits of stubborn hair that are clinging to the side of Yan Sun's head. She leans back a bit in Yan Sun's lap, grin tugging at the corner of her mouth as she assesses her work. "You see?" she asks, bringing her free hand back behind her, against Yan Sun's knee to better brace herself. Her gaze
The concerned looks quickly fade away and the rest of the eyes on the pair lose interest when it becomes clear that Jessica isn't planning anything. The topic of conversation turns to an upcoming hunting trip Jean-Luc and Caelus have planned that's gonna take them out towards a familiar homestead.
Rafe passes a glance back towards the pair when the razor quiets down, leaning forward in his seat a bit to get a better look. The angle doesn't quite work in his favor, forcing him to his feet to check out Jessica's handiwork. After looking a bit surprised at the lack of expletives shaved into the side of Yan Sun's head, he offers a few nods and a silent thumbs up before heading off towards the tent. "Anyone else need a fresh beer?" he
Yan Sun remains tense throughout, but as the razor goes quiet her eyes open and she reaches up to brush her fingers along the side of her head. Her gaze darts up to Jessica and then over to Rafe, the thumb's up and the cursory inspection with her fingertips combining to make her relax, shoulders slumping a little with relief. She looks off to her side, grabbing her beer and taking a long swig to empty the last of it - she's still not fond of
the taste, but she's learned to live with it. "I'll take one." she says as she sets the empty bottle down behind her in the snow before her attention - and her hand - returns to Jessica. "Mhm... thank you." she says through a rapidly growing grin, leaning in for a kiss, her hands coming to rest on Jessica's sides.
Jean-Luc waves off Rafe's offer as he walks by, but Paige is quick to take him up on it, throwing a hand up in the air that's holding her empty bottle and giving it a jiggle to let him know she needs one.
Jessica leans slightly to the side, piggybacking off of Yan Sun. "Get me one, too." she adds, her own bottle that's sitting on the log bench nearly empty. She drops the razor onto the bench at Yan Sun's side and gives a small tilt of her head, humming an, "Mmm." in response. As Yan Sun leans in, she leans back a bit- away from the kiss- her own expression reflecting Yan Sun's. But she doesn't commit to it for long, soon shifting
Yan Sun snickers quietly as she leans after Jessica until their lips meet. The rest of the people around the fire are briefly forgotten about, the kiss soft but lingering.
Jessica unsurprisingly, doesn't seem to particularly care about the fact that there's others around them. Her free hand moves to Yan Sun's neck as they kiss, thumb tracing gently along the edge of her jaw, tongue drawing lazy shapes against Yan Sun's.
Paige eventually speaks up, voice amplified and muffled through the megaphone formed by her hands which draws a few chuckles from the others. "Get a room!"
Yan Sun 's head tilts a bit to the side and her hands wedge under the bottom of her jacket, lost in the kiss until Paige's call makes her pull back, flustered but smiling wide. Her eyes open and she leans to the side to glance over Jessica's shoulder as she calls out a "Sorry!" that mixes with a laugh. She lifts one of her legs a bit to try and nudge Jessica to climb off of her.
Jessica seems ready to just ignore Paige, eyes only opening once Yan Sun has pulled back. But her gaze doesn't turn from Yan Sun, unfocused look in her eye as she prods at the bottom of her teeth with her tongue. The nudges jostle her, but she's not budging quite yet, one brow lifting in mild amusement. As if just to spite Paige, she tilts her head down to place another, quick kiss against Yan Sun's lips before- reluctantly- she lifts
her leg as she climbs to her feet, her position requiring a bit of shimmying to get back up. "There. You are happy?" she asks Paige as she her previous seat beside Yan Sun.
Paige very quickly devolves into a giggling fit as she watches Jessica struggling to get up, the look on her face that of someone who has probably already passed her drink limit. The question causes her to shoot a sharp nod Jessica's way. "Y-..." she begins before her attention shifts off to Yan Sun's right where the sound of snow crunching underfoot announces an approaching figure in the darkness beyond the fire's reach.
Kirill merely shakes his head at the interaction. But Paige's reaction causes him to crane his neck around a bit to see what has her attention. As licks of light from the fire begin to fill in features, he offers a polite dip of his head. "Shae." he greets.
Yan Sun too laughs as Jessica struggles - or maybe just because of Paige's giggle-fit. An arm wraps around Jessica as soon as she's seated, not prepared to let her go entirely, but as Paige and Kirill's attention shifts, she turns her head in search of the new arrival.
