#YanSun'sRoom – December 22, 2018

The end of the night winded down relatively tamely compared to the rest of the dance-fueled, music-filled, alcohol-infused night. Rafe was already fast asleep by the time Jessica and Yan Sun returned to the room. He and Kirill had taken up residence on the floor beside the bed, jackets folded up behind their heads as makeshift pillows, Rafe's Predator folded up on the nightstand beside his omni-tool. They've grown used to less-than-ideal

sleeping conditions. This is practically luxury. Kirill watched the pair as they returned from where he laid on the floor, hands behind his head with a small smile. Jessica seemed to have more ambition than followthrough, taking another beer with her to bed that was very quickly forgotten about when her head hit the pillow, leaving the unopened bottle to roll around in the bed and attempt to impede any comfortable sleeping throughout the

night. Thankfully that's more than likely counteracted by deep, drunken sleep.

Yan Sun is awoken by the telltale sound of an omni-tool beep. There's light soaking in through the window and she seems to be alone in the bed. Kirill is nowhere to be seen, but Rafe is still right where she last saw him: curled up on the floor beside the bed. It seems it's not the first time his omni-tool has went off this morning, as he has pulled his jacket overtop of his head to drown out the sound. Seems he's not the only one sleeping

through messages, though. Yan Sun's HUD is displaying 15 missed messages. 16............. Annnnd now 17. And what's that sharp pain in her side...? Rogue beer bottle sneak attack!

Yan Sun awakes from unpleasant dreams of being stabbed in the side in a mugging gone wrong, groaning loudly at the infernal beeping. She winces as she realizes the pain has followed her into the waking world, squirming to the side and pushing the bottle away as her eyes open. She blinks to clear the fog from her vision only to have it clear into a rapidly rising notification number. She rolls over onto her back and squints, willing the

message to display through her eye without moving from bed.

Nearly 1PM already. The first message is from Jessica. Sent nearly 3 hours ago. "Kirill is being a fuck. He wants me to go with him to run some errands while you are being lazy and sleeping. So I will be back later I guess." The second one, unsurprisingly, is also from Jessica. Sent only about 5 minutes ago. "We are back. Come outside you lazy bitch." The 15-... make that 16 now- that follow? Also from Jessica. Each one a single letter. "C"

"O" "M" "E" "O" "U" "T" "S" "I" "D" "E" "S" "L" "U" "T" "!"

Yan Sun furrows her eyebrows. "What...?" she mutters out loud, grimacing and reluctantly sitting up in bed, surveying her surroundings for a moment before activating her omni-tool interface and typing a quick reply. 'whats going on?' she asks, scooting over to the edge of the bed and taking a moment to wake up after her feet find the floor.

Rafe doesn't stir as Yan Sun sits up. Just a soft rise and fall of his chest the only indication he's even still breathing beneath the heavy winter jacket over his head. A response comes quickly enough. "You would know if you were OUTSIDE!"

Yan Sun lets out a sigh. 'omw' she replies, heading over to the bathroom. She emerges after a couple of minutes, teeth and hair washed, shooting Rafe a glance as she heads over to put on her jacket.

Rafe is right where she left him. Just a chest and a pair of legs poking out from beneath a heavy winter jacket that's ever-so-slightly moving with his breaths.

Yan Sun considers for a moment before opting to let him sleep with a small shrug. Beanie is the last thing to go on before she leaves the room, heading for the stairs and out, her movement still a little stiff from sleep.

Unfortunately, Yan Sun's beanie is nowhere to be seen. Rafe's omni-tool gives another BEEP as she exits the room and a wary groan erupts from Rafe. He shifts to his other side to face away from the omni-tool, but doesn't come out from beneath his jacket. Jessica and Kirill are in the parking lot stood beside the truck. Kirill is reaching over the side, digging into something in the bed. Jessica has her back pressed against the truck, a

focused look on her face- tip of her tongue clenched between her side teeth- as she types away at her omni-tool interface. "I am going to come and drag you outside by your tits if you are not here in five minutes." There's a suspiciously familiar beanie atop her head.

Yan Sun furrows her brow against the glare of the snow, gaining an unamused look as Jessica's message arrives while she's heading towards her. She snatches the beanie from Jessica's head, returning it where it belongs. "Give me that..."

Kirill lifts his head as he hears Yan Sun speak up. "So. You're a mechanic?" he asks, a suspicious smile crossing his lips at the question.

Jessica's in the middle of typing up another message when Yan Sun closes the gap and snatches up the beanie, causing Jessica to jerk her head up, glare already pre-loaded until she realizes it's Yan Sun. The revelation causes her to narrow her eyes and tap the send button. "It is freezing out here if you do not hurry I wi" Kirill's question is enough to open her eyes again, though, and causes her to snap his way and step out in

front of the question. "Is not what I say!" she says, "I say that her father is a mechanic!" She shoots a look Yan Sun's way, tightly clenching her jaw. "And Yan Sun would like to help him a lot when he would be working. Mmm?" She stares Yan Sun down before anunciating sharply: "This is right, yes?"

Yan Sun blinks, obviously confused. "What?" Her gaze falls on Jessica's less-than-subtle expression and her eyebrows furrow a little. "Uh... sure?" she tries, sounding more like she's asking a question than answering one. She's far too recently awoken for... whatever this is.

Kirill lets out a breath through his nose and cocks an eyebrow as he studies Yan Sun, the fact that she looks as if she can barely even lift a wrench not lost on him. After a brief moment of silence, he gives a roll of his eyes. "Yeah. Right. Whatever you say." he mutters when Yan Sun doesn't sell Jessica out. With a sigh, he straightens his posture and pulls his omni-tool out, once again typing up a message to Rafe.

Jessica clears her throat when it becomes obvious that Kirill isn't buying it. "She-... her father!" she corrects, looking from Yan Sun to Kirill, "Is one of the most important mechanics in Hong Kong. Mmmm?" she hums with a glance back to Yan Sun for backup. "Allll of the people are going to him to get their trucks fixed! And there are many trucks in Hong Kong." she adds, as if it bolsters the claim.

Yan Sun lets out an exasperated noise, her confusion going nowhere. "Okay, what, uh-... what's going on? Why am I a mechanic today?"

Jessica locks her glare back to Yan Sun. "Why is your father a mechanic today!" she chastizes, seeming to miss the obvious implication in her own words.

Kirill isn't far behind Yan Sun, a tired sigh of his own quick to follow as he tucks his omni-tool away and gives a shake of his head. "Can we-... not do this?" he asks, a hesitant smile returning to his face as he looks from Yan Sun to Jessica. "I already told ya that you could borrow the truck. You lyin' about her bein' some world class mechanic ain't gonna ease my mind any-..."

Jessica gives her own exasperated sigh, folding her arms across her chest and looking to Kirill as she interrupts. "...about her father being a mechanic!" she corrects, searching for a win wherever she can get one. "And is not a lie."

Kirill snorts, one large hand raising to run through his unkempt hair as he tries to navigate the frustrating labyrinth of conversation with Jessica. "All I care about is that ya take care of it and ya know how to change a power cell. You do know how to change a power cell, right?" he asks pointedly, gaze resting on Jessica.

Jessica scoffs loudly, looking downright offended. "Of course I am knowing how to change a fucking power cell. I am always changing pow-..."

Kirill doesn't need to hear anymore before rolling his eyes and deciding instead to look to Yan Sun. "You do know how to change a power cell, right?" he asks, having little patience for Jessica's less-than-honest approach anytime her qualifications are called into question.

Yan Sun seems uncertain whether to laugh or groan as she listens to the conversation with the same exasperated expression. "I do..." she confirms, looking more than a little confused as to why they're borrowing a truck in the first place.

Kirill takes a breath out of the corner of his mouth as he studies Yan Sun for a moment before nodding. "Alright then."

Jessica throws her hands up. "I do know how to change a fucking power cell!" she insists. "You have seen me-..." she tries to continue arguing but doesn't get very far before Kirill interjects.

Kirill relents with a tired snicker and a shake of his head. "Great!" he interrupts, caught somewhere between being frustrated by Jessica's argumentative nature and finding the familiar interaction endearing. "Then both of ya know. Even better." He shifts from foot to foot, steam escaping his mouth with each cold breath.

Yan Sun furrows her eyebrows. "Can I just-... uhm, why are we borrowing the truck...?" she asks, looking to either of them for an explanation of what's actually going on.

Kirill furrows his brow, blinking a couple of times, clearly under the impression that Yan Sun was in on this. He glances Jessica's way.

Jessica catches Kirill's glare and cocks an eyebrow before looking back to Yan Sun and shrugging her shoulders. "For driving." she says, as if that should be obvious.

Yan Sun shoots Jessica an unamused look. "Driving where?" she clarifies.

Jessica bites down, staring hard at Yan Sun as the desire to avoid having this conversation right here in front of Kirill grows. "Somewhere." After a moment she swallows, her look softening somewhat. "...There is somewhere that I am needing to go before we leave Aite." she explains, a bit of discomfort creeping in.

Yan Sun raises an eyebrow. "Okay..." she says with a small nod, Jessica's expression convincing her not to push further right now.

Rafe finally makes his way to the parking lot, his eyes little more than slits as the cold air fills his lungs and a throb settles into his temples. He's tiredly fiddling with the zipper of his jacket. "What's goin' on?" he asks as he joins the others, the sleep still fresh on his face.

Kirill watches the exchange between Jessica and Yan Sun with disinterest. As Rafe finally makes his appearance, he glances his way. "Well, if it isn't Sleeping Beauty." he teases, but Rafe just stands in place teetering ever-so-slightly, the words barely even registering. "We're gonna be catchin' a ride home with Mayra." he says. That seems to wake Rafe a little.

Rafe gains a confused look. "Uhh... Okay? .....................Why?"

Kirill gives a hesitant look from Yan Sun to Jessica before drawing in a breath. "Gonna be leavin' the truck with them. They've got some errands to run. They're gonna drop it off at Mayra's when they're back. Figure I can catch a ride back with Mayra when she's done with the gate in a few days and pick up the truck." he explains.

Rafe blinks a couple times in an attempt at dispelling the sleep. "You sure that's a good-..." he begins, but a stray look from Jessica causes him to reconsider his words. Clearing his throat, he merely nods a few times.

Kirill gestures towards the truck. "Go ahead and give her the rundown. Show her where everything is." he instructs. Despite the obvious hangover, Rafe nods and gets right to it, Jessica joining him as they climb into the cab of the truck. Kirill watches for a moment before drawing in a deep breath and tucking his hands into his pockets as he approaches Yan Sun.

Yan Sun lets out a yawn, rolling her shoulders a little as she watches Rafe and Jessica in the truck. "Not gonna lie, I still don't really have any idea what's going on..." she half-mutters.

Kirill snickers as he takes a position beside Yan Sun, gaze lowering to his old, beat up winter boots. "Yeah. That don't surprise me too much." he admits. "She said the two of you wanted to go on a trip." he explains as he looks to her. "Out west."

Yan Sun nods a couple of times, sucking in her lips for a moment. "Well... this'll be interesting." she sighs. "Thanks for... letting us borrow your truck, I guess?"

Kirill gives a shrug of his shoulders, a small tilt of his head and a chuckle accompanying it as he watches the animated pair through the windshield. Despite their voices being muffled by the closed doors, it's not hard to see that- as per usual- Jessica seems to be giving Rafe a hard time. "Thanks for bein' a fool, you mean?" he asks through a smile. "We just lost our only shuttle-..." he continues, his smile slipping away as he brings

up their most recent loss, "So leavin' one of our trucks behind? Yeah, I'll probably be gettin' an earful about it when I get back."

Yan Sun lets out a quiet snort. "We'll... take good care of it." she assures, well aware there are no guarantees with Jessica in the picture. She crosses her arms against the cold, shivering a little.

Kirill allows his smile to return, nodding a few times. "I'm sure you will." he says. "Not like I could've said no, anyhow. You know how it is with her when she gets somethin' in her head. You don't really have much say in anything. You're just kinda-... along for the ride." he says, another chuckle escaping.

Yan Sun snickers quietly, looking down for a moment as a grin crosses her lips. "Yeah, I uh, I do..." she agrees. As she looks up towards the truck again, her smile lingers. "I'm glad you guys are parting on good terms. It-... it's a big deal. Leaving."

Kirill gives a slow nod. He falls silent for a few moments as he picks through his thoughts. "When you and I last spoke, I was pretty convinced that I'd never see her again." he admits, keeping his gaze on the truck. "And-... I know she can be a handful. Believe me. But underneath all of it? Underneath all of the ugliness and rough edges? There's a good woman. I've seen it." As the last bit leaves his mouth, he hazards a glance Yan Sun's

way, small smile tugging at his lips as he recalls the good times. "It's just weighed down by a whole heck of a lot of baggage. Leavin' is a big deal. A damn big deal. But-... thing is, doesn't matter where she goes. She's never gonna be able to outrun herself. So, for both of your sakes, I hope she leaves that baggage here." He offers a sympathetic tilt of his head.

Yan Sun draws in a deep breath of cold winter air, gaze falling to the dirty snow that covers the parking lot. "Me too." she says softly.

Kirill goes quiet, hands in his pockets as he watches the two in the car. "Suppose it goes without sayin', but I've got a bit of a soft spot for her. And she damn well knows it. Proven by the fact that I'm about to be minus one truck." he adds with a snicker. "Now I'm not sure whether our schedules are gonna have a chance to overlap before the two of you leave... I'm gonna try and catch a ride back in a few days to pick up the truck,

but-... well, things get busy out where I stay and ya never know. So I'm gonna go ahead and-..." he trails off, not particularly comfortable with what he needs to get off of his chest, "...Jess ain't gonna wanna hear what I've got to say so, unfortunately, it falls to you." He turns in place a bit to look at Yan Sun, but his discomfort gets the best of him and his gaze ends up resting somewhere between her and the truck on a patch

of ice forming in the parking lot. Embarrassment taking hold over what Yan Sun must see as a parasitic relationship. A foolish man being taken advantage of by Jessica. But she wasn't there for the good times. For the long talks- most admittedly one sided- around the fires back in the Gorge. The stories. The laughter. "You guys need me while you're out there galavantin' across the galaxy? You call. Not sure there's a whole lot I

could help with, but if there is somethin' I can do for you? Either of you?" he nods a few times, sincerity in his tired eyes, "Anything. You just say the word. Now I don't have many credits, but Jess has people here who care about her whether she's willin' to admit it or not. We'll find a way to throw together enough to come to you-... to-... to bring you here? Whatever it takes."

Yan Sun looks a little caught off-guard by Kirill's offer, flashing a faint, slightly awkward smile, nodding a couple of times. "That's... very kind. I-... I'll remember that." she says softly, turning her gaze to Kirill, her smile growing a little. "Hopefully won't be necessary." she says with a small snicker. "But if I can't convince Jessica to do it, maybe I'll drop some updates, yeah?" she suggests.

Kirill reaches out, placing a hand on Yan Sun's shoulder at her offer. He gives her a few pats, a smile crossing his lips. "I'd like that." he says softly. Sadly even, as if he's already decided it's a given that, once Jessica leaves Aite, he'll never hear from her again. "And-..." he begins, a bit of that discomfort making a quick return. "Take care of her? Make her happy." He gains a sheepish look, letting a puff of air out through his

nose. "Well, s'pose that isn't exactly fair. Take care of each other." he corrects, "Make each other happy. And-... don't take one another for granted. Because all we've got in this world-... in this life, is each other." It's probably not too hard to figure out that these are all things he would much rather be saying to Jessica. But she'd mistake it for pity. For sympathy. And that would only lead to an argument. It's

also not hard to see that the advice is dear to him. An effect that's only heightened when he adds: "And it can all be taken away in an instant." The statement causes him to swallow at the lump in his throat. He doesn't allow the words much stagetime, perhaps worried too much of his own reflection might be spotted in them. "I'm rooting for you guys, alright?" he concludes on, mustering up as much of a smile as he can hot on the

heels of such a charged statement and giving Yan Sun one more pat on the shoulder before returning his hands to his pockets.

Yan Sun listens in silence to Kirill, a soft trace of her smile lingering, but partway through his words she swallows, her smile fading as the image of the photo in the truck makes itself remembered. She nods softly, meeting his gaze. "I-... I'm gonna do my best." she promises, managing to bring her smile back, although there's a hint of sadness to it. Aite isn't easy on anyone, is it? Then again, is Earth?

Kirill gives a few small nods gaze shifting back towards the truck as the doors open once more and out step Rafe and Jessica. "I know you will." he says, sincerity in his words. After all, she cared enough about Jess to seek him out before. "So?" he calls out to the pair, "Everything in order?"

Rafe gives a couple of nods. "Good to go!" he calls out, a small smile on his face. Seems- at the very least- being stuck in a small, confined space with Jessica for a few moments worked as a bit of a wake up call. Didn't do much for his headache, though. He shuffles around to the side of the truck, unsnapping the tarp to grab a dufflebag from the bed beneath.

Jessica looks Yan Sun's way with that mischievous grin of hers and gives a little bit of a wiggle of her eyebrows for having scored them a truck, one's movement restricted by the taught skin on the right side of her head.

Kirill takes a few steps towards the truck, raising his voice a bit as he addresses both Jessica and Yan Sun. "Alright. Ya got a cooler in the back, there." he says, pulling a hand from his pocket and gesturing towards the bed of the truck, "Has some carashan in it. Meat should stay good for a while longer and there's a couple jugs of water back there, but it's probably only enough for a few meals. Ain't gonna be enough to get you out

west and back so make sure you stock up before you take off." he advises, making his way around the truck and towards the driver's seat. He leans in to collect his picture from the dash board and stows it in the pocket on the inside of his jacket before moving to collect his own dufflebag from the truck. He lifts the tarp a bit higher, eyes dancing about the bed as if to see what else deserves mention. "Portable stove-... tent-...

spare power cells-..." he lists off and then lifts his gaze, looking over the truck bed to Jessica and Yan Sun. Seems they stock up well. And for good reason. Aite is sparse, dangerous, and, especially with the current weather, breaking down on the side of the road could spell disaster without proper preparation. Long trips from the Gorge have taught him to be prepared. "Yeah." he nods, "So long as you cover your eatin' needs you

should be set for a nice long haul."

Yan Sun can't help a small grin at Kirill's apparent concern. She just nods along a few times, looking to Jessica to respond to this - road trips are... not exactly her specialty. She's spent the first two decades of her life in one place, after all.

Jessica gives a few dismissive nods as Kirill goes down the laundry list. With a deep sigh, she rotates back to face him, her forearms coming to a rest atop the truck bed as she looks across to him. "We will be fine." she says, a hint of frustration creeping into her voice.

Kirill snickers to himself as he snaps the tarp back into place. "I'm sure you will. I'm more worried about the truck." he says, flashing a kind smile as he lets Jessica's frustration roll off his back. He shrugs the dufflebag over his shoulder and rounds the truck to approach Jessica. "Alright, you ain't gonna like it but you're gettin' a hug so we might as well get it over with." he warns, bringing one arm out to his side.

Jessica gives a roll of her eye, but a hint of a smile shows through as she turns to face Kirill and brace herself for the incoming hug. She looks off to the side as his arms come around her, playing up her annoyance. But it doesn't last. It can't. Soon enough she returns the gesture, arms wrapping around the man's large frame and forehead coming to rest against his shoulder. He whispers something in her ear, causing her to nod

against him. And that's how the two remain for a number of moments. Strangely enough, it's Kirill who pulls away, drawing in a deep breath as he does. Jessica blinks a few times and settles back to her previous position against the truck as her ger gaze drifts to the ground.

Kirill clears his throat, offering Jessica a small smile and a pat on the shoulder before he turns towards Yan Sun. There's a sadness in his eyes at having to say goodbye, but he manages to hold back the tears. "Alright, you get one, too." he snickers, taking a step towards the young woman with an arm out to his side.

Yan Sun snickers to herself as Jessica is caught in the hug, a soft smile spreading across her lips as she sees it returned. As Kirill turns her way she blinks, looking a little awkward, but she brings her hands out of her pockets in preparation, letting out quiet chuckle.

Kirill approaches, pulling Yan Sun into a brief hug. It seems more of a friendly gesture in an attempt at making her feel included than anything else. But it is a sincere gesture. He gives her a few pats on the back before breaking it off. "Don't forget what I said." he says softly, "...You need anything..."

Rafe seems to be emboldened by Kirill's hug and approaches Jessica. She raises an eyebrow, both elbows rested on the truck. The silent 'don't even think about it' seems to be all he needs to rethink things, and he restrains from going in for the hug. "Take care of yourself, Jessie." he says softly, a bit of lingering emotion in his voice from the previous night.

Jessica gives a couple of small nods. A moment passes before she realizes she needs to say something back. No, she wants to say something back. "Try to not get killed saving this shithole." is what comes out. It's enough to get a smile out of Rafe.

Yan Sun returns the hug, if a bit awkwardly, nodding as she pulls back. She returns her hands to her pockets and glances over towards Jessica and Rafe, staying silent as they say their goodbyes.

Rafe gives a small snicker as he begins taking a few steps back. "Yeah." he nods, "I'm gonna do my best." Sure, there's more he could say. A lot left unsaid. A whole lot. But what would be the point? They're parting on better terms than he arrived on. Maybe that's good enough. Turning on his heels, he starts towards Kirill, giving a small nod of his head to Yan Sun.

Kirill shrugs the dufflebag a bit higher on his shoulder as he pulls back from the hug. "Well, you two take care out there. You have any trouble with the truck or anything, just give me a call." he offers, gaze turning from Yan Sun to Jessica, gentle smile returning to his face. "...Alright then." he offers, realizing he's just dragging things on by this point. "Guess we shouldn't keep Mayra waitin'." he says with a glance to Rafe before

starting off down the street.

Jessica merely nods to Kirill's advice, her gaze coming to rest on Yan Sun once more as the pair begin to leave.

Yan Sun briefly withdraws one hand from her pocket to give the two of them a casual wave and a nod, watching them for a moment before looking to Jessica.

Rafe nudges into Kirill as they get steppin', raising a hand up into the air to wave back to Yan Sun and Jessica. "You do know she's gonna be pissed that you gave Jessie the truck, right?" he asks, voice getting further away by the moment.

Kirill draws in a long, deep breath. "...Yep." he says reluctantly.

Jessica pokes at the inside of her cheek with her tongue, gaze falling distantly to the parking lot once Kirill and Rafe disappear behind the Respite and out of sight.

Yan Sun joins Jessica in leaning against the truck, tilting her head as she studies her. "You good?" she asks softly, knowing very well that she's unlikely to receive a sincere response.

Jessica lifts her gaze to meet Yan Sun's, eyebrow raising slightly. "Mmm? Of course." she says, a shadow of her grin returning. "We have a truck!" She lifts one arm and thumps it back down on the truck.

Yan Sun 's amusement and exasperation both make a return as she nods, sucking on her cheek for a moment. "Follow-up question: Why do we have a truck?" she asks, eyebrows rising as a smirk crosses her lips.

Jessica turns her head to the side, glancing back over her shoulder at the truck. After studying it for a moment she pushes away from it steps in front of Yan Sun. She places one hand on each side of Yan Sun on the truck, trapping her against it. "Is a surprise." she says smugly, her grin growing a little more genuine.

Yan Sun 's eyebrows rise further, a look of cautious curiosity on her face. "Oookay..." she says. "A... surprise that involves a multi-day road trip?" she asks.

Jessica gives a couple of nods as she shuffles closer, encroaching on Yan Sun's personal space. "Mmm." she hums.

Yan Sun hardly seems to mind, her hands moving to Jessica's sides, eyebrows furrowing as she looks at her. "Okay..." she repeats with a snicker. Her head tilts to one side. "This is something you came up with this morning...?"

Jessica widens her stance slightly as she grips the edge of the truckbed on each side of Yan Sun. "Mmmm." she confirms with a hum. "So you get me all to your self for a few days. Just you, me, and a smelly truck." she says, bringing her left hand away from the truck to rest on Yan Sun's right arm. "You are in much trouble, kitty cat." she adds with a snicker.

Yan Sun lets out an amused snort, grinning slightly as she watches Jessica. "Mm... I'm shaking." she says, grin widening. "You... gonna let me in on where we're going, or is it all secret?" she asks, seeming to enjoy Jessica's apparent good mood, all things considered.

Jessica cocks an eyebrow. "You-" she begins, bringing her hand up to give Yan Sun an annoying pat on the cheek. After, she reaches up, re-stealing the stolen beanie that Yan Sun stole back and tugging it back onto her head. "...will find out when we get there, slut." she says through her grin as she tries to adjust the hat.

Yan Sun narrows her eyes after Jessica takes her beanie again. She takes a moment to blow some now-displaced hair from her face. "Guess I will." she agrees, glancing off to the side, towards the cab of the truck. "So... when are we leaving?" Her curiosity remains, but she seems willing to play ball.

Jessica gives a small shrug of her shoulders as she studies Yan Sun in silence. It's a question she doesn't seem to have thought too much about. After the night they had- after the month she has had- she hasn't exactly had a chance to put much consideration into this plan. Far too many other things swimming around in her head. Things she'd rather not be thinking about. Things she'd rather not be dwelling on. Collectors. That

Jessica emptiness that settled into her stomach as she watched Rafe and Kirill walk away. Home- whatever that even means anymore. All things she'd rather not allow to bounce around in her head tonight. "Why not today?" she asks, her voice growing softer as she wonders if Yan Sun will find the idea ridiculous. "We can pack up our shit. Shower. Pick some things up from the store and-..." she swallows, giving a sheepish shrug as she

Jessica tries to gauge Yan Sun's reaction, "...and just go. Yes?"

Yan Sun lets out a chuckle, thinking the question over for a moment. "I mean-... I guess-... yeah, okay." she decides fairly fast, flashing a small smile. Something about Jessica's enthusiasm has her onboard. Wasn't she just thinking she wanted to see more of Aite before going anyhow? "I'll need some time to let people know I'll be offline for a while, but... yeah." Pack up, get ready, shop for supplies. It's just an unplanned roadtrip

Yan Sun on a sparsely populated frontier world. In winter. Shouldn't be too hard, right? She does know how to change a power cell. Her eyebrows furrow as something occurs to her. "What about your job?"

Jessica's grin returns in force when Yan Sun agrees. Her question causes her to furrow her brow. "My job? I am injured!" she exclaims, lifting the arm that should-be-splinted-but-most-definitely-is-not-splinted and giving a mock pained grimace.

Yan Sun snorts loudly, her grin returning. "Sounds like you've got it all figured out." she comments.

Jessica shuffles back slightly, bringing her hand back to untrap Yan Sun from her position against the car. "Of course I do." she says confidently. "Now go take care of your stupid nerd shit and start packing so we can get going!"
