#Miner'sRespite – December 16, 2016

This logfile is imported from aitelogs2 and may contain errors or wrong timestamps.

An asari in a full blue suit of armor steps into the Miner's Respite, eyes dead set on the bar counter. Her hand is resting on the holster as she approaches the counter. This happens just as the Redrock shuttle leaves the hospital. It's early afternoon, during Va'ynna's time off.

Aylena is currently about to finish taking an order, but she doesn't fail to notice the new arrival. "One minute," she says as she steps aside, narrowing her eyes at the new arrival who's lookling like she's about to draw a weapon. Her hand by the terminal keyboard is one short movement away from triggering the silent alarm that'll ping Leah's omni-tool.

Gregorij is sitting in his usual booth, having just sat down with his daily afternoon whiskey. His gaze follows the armored asari, brushing his hand against the gun folded up inside his jacket, just to reassure himself its still there. Trouble.

Yan Sun frowns as Aylena steps aside in the middle of her requesting a couple of sandwiches. "Huh-..." She leans against the counter, slightly confused, but she follows the asari's gaze towards the newcomer, her frown deepening as she spots the armor.

Zaylus sits at one of the Respite booths, facing away from the bar. He's back to dressing in his regular grey armor, Carnifex secured at the waist. He gives the asari a cursory glance as she walks in, and absently looks away.

The asari doesn't take her eyes of her mark to look at the potential threats around her. She draws her weapon just before she's about to pass the table on her way – which is empty. Her aim is thrown off as she dodges backwards to avoid a weak biotic throw from the bartender, but she sights in again on her rather quickly. "Deny it as much as you want, Janysa," she says, "but this time we're not messing around."

Yan Sun 's eyes go wide as the armored asari draws a weapon. She looks rather like a varren caught in headlights as she finds herself in the unfortunate position of being rather inbetween the two asari. She instinctively tries to back up only to bump into the bar counter. As the biotic projectile flies over her head from behind she ducks down into a crouch. She is, of course, still in plain view of the woman with the gun.

"弊傢伙!"

Gregorij tenses up, reaching inside his jacket but remaining seated and observing the situation.

Zaylus flinches at the crash of sound, turning and rising at the same moment. His hand already hovers on his weapon before he can take in the scene, and he quietly draws his pistol and creeps forward a few steps. He's fairly far from the bar but is almost directly behind the asari. Eyes flashing toward Aylena, he waits for some action, direction, or explaination.

Aylena presses the silent alarm with a sigh, which will transmit the video feed of the room to Leah's omni-tool along with the alarm. Aylena is not losing her composure, however. "Calm down," she says. "I'm going to give you one chance to turn around and get out. You can afford to pay for this."

The asari tightens her grip around her pistol. "'Calm down'," she says in a mocking tone while aiming down the sights at the asari. "You know what else I can afford that's much, much cheaper?"

Yan Sun has started to scramble out of the way, remaining low. Trying to be subtle about it doesn't go very far as she knocks over one of the barstools, cursing under her breath and continuing to back away along the bar counter in her crouched position, keeping her gaze on the asari with the gun. Her cybernetic eye has lit up with a blue glow, the circuits on the side of her head starting to come alive with light as well.

Gregorij remains in his seat, watching and listening with a mix of curiosity and wariness.

Zaylus is taking very slow steps toward the attacker with his pistol aimed and ready. He looks between the asari, anxious for a break in the tension but unwilling to stand down.

Nathan trudges down the street, wrapped up in the warmest clothes he has available. Leather jacket, scarf, gloves. You name it. He steps into the Respite, about to stomp off his boots when he catches sight of the confrontation. He freezes, blinking rapidly before his mind kicks into overdrive. He crouches, taking a moment to gauge if he has been noticed or not by

the clearly hostile asari.

Zaylus gives Nathan a sidelong glance as he enters, unwilling to turn away from the confrontation. He gives a low grunt and a slight lift of the shoulders, hoping that to convey he doesn't understand what's happening either.

Aylena takes a step back. "You're not leaving this room alive if you as much as think about pulling the trigger," she says. "Turn around, and get out."

The hostile asari fires two quick successive shots with her Carnifex, both of which hit the asari around her center of mass. While the almost-Matriarch's words made sense toher, the attacker has not proven to be in a very sound place mentally. "You mean – like this?" As the other asari falls to the ground, she cloaks and starts running towards the bar counter.

She didn't really care for the other people present, at least not outwardly. Her focus was on the bartender.

Yan Sun flinches at the sound of the gunshits, pointlessly shielding herself for a moment with her arms. As she looks back up and spots the asari gunwoman running towards her while fading into refracted light she blurts out an inaudible string of Cantonese and fires off an electric overload at her without really thinking.

(*gunshots)

Aylena fals down to the floor, clutching her wounds which is bleeding profusely. The old asari is still concious, hanging onto life by a thread. There's no telling how long that will last, however.

The overload hits her before she can reach the counter, and the cloak disappears, and most of her shields are taken out as well. The asari doesn't waver, and continues towards the counter for cover. She does have to run to the side get around the counter since it's bit too tall for her to vault.

Nathan makes a split second decision. He reaches inside his jacket and rips out his predator. Clutching it in one hand, he barrels forwards just as Yan Sun fires off her overload. Assuming that the asari is now decloaked and open, he simply throws himself at her in a tackle with the intention of slamming her into the counter before going to town on her with the

butt of his pistol.

((Retcon))

Nathan swears and rips his pistol out from his jacket. He moves forwards just as the asari decloaks and snaps off two shots at her midsection before kicking a table over for makeshift cover. He chimes into his omni-tool and into the Redrock frequency. "Any Redrock units, we got a shooter in the Respite! One casualty, need medical attention!"

Zaylus fires two shots as the asari makes her move, but the cloak is too fast and he misses his target. He curses and steps in further, the overload resurfacing his target. He sends off two more shots this time, traking the asari as she runs around the bar.

There are only five other patrons about in three booths (asari and salarian; 2 humans; one asari) aside from the ones already mentioned. All of them have taken cover under their tables.

Gregorij flinches as the gunshots ring out, bringing a hand up to his head as his expression continues to twitch. He ducks down behind the back of the booth, peeking around the corner as he pulls out his Locust, but its clear he still has trouble focusing.

Jessica having heard the first set of gunshots from upstairs and Yan Sun nowhere in sight, appears at the top of the stairs. Dressed in a pair of brown cargo pants and a tanktop that she haphazardly threw on, she looks around the room at the scene playing out for any sign of Yan Sun. She flinches and hunkers down slightly as Zaylus' second pair of rounds ring out.

Jason's voice responds to Nathan over the Redrock open comms a moment later. "Copy. We were already on our way there. We've got the video feed open, but unfortunately we were most of the way when the fight broke out, so Halisi isn't with us. I'll be sending Jasper back to pick her up, just keep Aylena safe!"

Both of Nathan's shots and Zaylus' latter shots hit, causing her shields to go out completely. One of the stray shots from the turian went on to cause a short-lived waterfall originating from a former bottle of rum. "I'll finish the job unless you stop shooting right now!" she says as she rounds the counter. Instead of taking cover there, however, she dashes towards the back door.

Yan Sun falls back into a seated position on the floor, pressed back against the bar, as the armored asari dashes past her. She barely has time to react before a barrage of gunshots from Nathan and Zaylus strikes the counter near her, causing her to throw her arms up once more as if to shield herself - which proves mildly helpful as shattered glass and rum rains down from above. She keeps her arms in front of her face, frozen

in place, at least for the moment.

Nathan peers over the top and, seeing the asari flee, hurdles over the table. "Copy!" He replies to Jason. Sighting Yan Sun and, from the corner of his eye, Jessica, bellows, "Yan Sun, Jess, get to Aylena! Zaylus, take point and get that bitch!" He starts weaving around the tables, low and pistol trained on the hostile asari as his mind is a myriad of thoughts. No

armour, none of his other weapons and no grenades. Might as well make use of the Turian.

Zaylus picks up the pace persuing the asari, keeping his weapon as still as possible as he continues squeezing off slower, more deliberate shots. He gives a grunt of aknowledgement at Nathan's direction. "Got it!" He responds verbally. He's just about reached the bar.

A bright biotic sheen fills the air outside of the Respite briefly as Leah touches down, though there's no sign of the shuttle. She's still dressed as she was at the hospital, chunky black boots and jeans, though she left her jacket behind to keep from hindering her movement, revealing her short-sleeved light-blue top.

Leah hurries through the front door of the Respite and, upon spotting Nathan, rushes in his direction, staying low as she slips into cover behind the overturned table he just vacated. "Shit, shit, fuck, fuck." she cusses, not exactly pleased with the idea of rushing into a gunfight without her hardsuit or her own gun. She clutches Jason's Phalanx in one hand. "How are you doing, Nate?" she asks with a mock tone of casualness as

she presses against the table, awaiting a high velocity round to punch through it and embed itself into her back, "Guess what? Jason gave me the day off." she adds.

Jason's voice comes over comms a moment later. "I'm moving around to the back to make sure she doesn't try escaping. There's nowhere for her to go so keep her contained."

Jessica furrows her brow as Nathan addresses her. It takes it a moment for everything to sink in before she nods her head and hurries down the stairs, keeping a low profile. She moves right to Yan Sun's side, pressing herself up against the bar counter. "Up, kitty cat, up!" she insists, lending a hand to help Yan Sun back up, "Come on!"

((It takes her a moment*))

Three shots connects before the asari can get to the door, and another hit her in the back just as she stumbles inside. She limps out of view before the turian can deliver the killing blow, however.

Aylena is still lying on the floor, using her hands to put pressure on the wounds as best as she can. Her expression is extremely pained, there's no use in hiding that.

Yan Sun shows no real sign of having heard Nathan at all, quite busy cowering against the bar amid half-toppled barstools. Her ears are still ringing from the previous gunshots as Zaylus opens up again, and as she looks past her arms it seems as if she desperately wishes she was behind some form of cover, while simultaneously being too afraid to move. As Jessica ducks down next to her she looks to her. It takes her a couple of

seconds to register what she's saying, but when she does she grabs Jessica's hand, nodding repeatedly while scrambling to her feet - delayed slightly by the slippery pool of rum and glass. "Y-... okay, okay..."

Gregorij remains in cover in his booth, trying to keep his head from splitting open as more gunshots ring out and chaos continues to fill the Respite. He clutches his SMG tightly, eyes closed and teeth gritted.

Nathan spares a quick glance at Leah and a smirk. "No shit. My day off too," he replies before flicking his head forwards. "Come on, she went through the back!" With her out of sight, he abandons caution for the moment and sprints towards the counter, waving Zaylus forwards. He jumps with a grunt and makes to slide over the counter, avoiding any obstacles or

bleeding asari in the process. Priorities. One: Armed hostile in the building. Two: Protect any non-combatants from said hostile. Three: Survive this whole shitty ordeal. Four: Buy some spacebeef for the burgers.

Zaylus gives a sharp exhale in response to the asari's downed state. He doesn't lose focus however, and uses the remaining ground to catch a little speed before ungracefully pulling himself over the bar, giving Nathan a nod in response as he steadies himself on the other side. Raising his weapon again, he cautiously follows the assailant out the back.

Jason won't be able to enter the building through the back, due to the garage door being locked. The asari will have to get it open to escape, though.

As soon as Zaylus comes into view, the downed asari rolls to the side and sends a biotic throw his way.

Zaylus is unable to react before the asari catches him with a biotic throw, sending him, almost comically, back through the door and into the counter with a thud. He groans, dazed, and breifly slipping to the floor by the force of the impact and the shock of the biotic attack.

Leah nods to herself as she exits her cover behind the table and begins to follow behind Nathan. As she reaches the bar, she vaults over the counter effortlessly, landing lightly on her feet, narrowly avoiding the turian-projectile. That looked painful, but he'll live. As she spots Aylena's condition, she cusses to herself. She, however, probably won't live if nothing is done. "Shit. Nate, she's not gonna make it if we don't

do something. Go on, I'll stay with her until Halisi gets here!" she says as she glances around for a moment, trying to recall where the medkit is stored. Once she spots it, she quickly grabs it and drops to a knee beside Aylena. "Just stay still, Aylena..." she says softly as she sets down the Phalanx and begins to open the medkit in search of the medigel, "...You're going to be fine. Just hang in there."

Jason simply takes a position outside of the building in case the asari attempts to escape. Just a contingency plan since they have no knowledge as to whether or not the asari has the capabilities to open the door. "Alright, I'm out back. She's got nowhere to run. Do your best to keep her alive so we can question her. But don't risk your life to make it happen, understand!?"

Nathan ducks out the way as the turian becomes a fastball of armour. "Woah!" He checks his pistol and crouches low, gritting his teeth at the problem presented before him. He can't very well go charging at a biotic with no armour. He'll end up a pulpy mess at the end of a biotic throw. Firing blindly would end up with ricochets and hitting himself in his leg.

Hearing both Leah and Jason, he decides to try and be... diplomatic. "Stand down!" He yells as he turns his head towards the door. "The building is surrounded! Lay down your arms and we can resolve this amicably. No one else needs to get hurt today."

Jessica helps to pull Yan Sun to her feet and then gives her a shove towards the stairs. "Up!" she repeats, using her other hand to push aside a barstool that's on its side. She seems happy to see that Leah has taken over Aylena-duty, because she probably wasn't actually going to. Getting Yan Sun out was her only priority. Not that she could do much for Aylena even if she wanted. No medical knowledge and no medi-gel. "Is not the

time for clumsy! Go!" she shouts at Yan Sun.

Zaylus ceremoniously shakes off the impact, dragging himself up to his feet again and readying his weapon. Instead of charging back in for another taste, however, he defers to Nathan's plan, resolving to keep his pistol aimed in the doorway but not seek out the asari for now.

Yan Sun stumbles as Jessica shoves her towards the stairs, but nods again. "O-... okay." she manages, not needing to be told again as she hurries off towards the stairs, and hopefully out of the line of fire.

Gregorij scoots back up in his seat as the gunfire stops, and as he studies the situation from a distance he realizes they have the asari contained to the kitchen. He remains in his booth, keeping an eye on what's happening from his fairly safe position, trying his best to ignore the sensation of a garbage compactor trying to crush his skull... with limited success. His face is twisted in a pained grimace and every so often his

gaze darts away, distracted as he mutters to himself.

"I've got plenty more where that came from," she calls back. Each second the mercs are attempting diplomacy is another second of her regenerating her shields.

Aylena groans. "Been... doing that... for a while now," she says, her voice barely coherent. She's wearing a dark-blue dress, but the blood soaked cloth makes locating the actual bullet holes difficult. One of the gunshots hit her in the abdomen and the other is right below her chest.

Zaylus gives Nathan a sidelong glare. "You got anything else?" He mutters bitterly.

Nathan sighs. "Welp, answer enough for me," he mutters as he turns towards the door. He psyches himself up, breathing rapidly as he answers Zaylus. "Dumbest idea I ever had." He takes a few steps back, as far as he is able to. With his free hand, he grabs a bottle of whatever and mutters a silent prayer. He pushes forwards, dives into a slide and, as he goes

through the doorway, sights the asari and slings the bottle at her face in an attempt to shatter it and blind her. If successful... well... BANGBANGBANGBANG!

Zaylus watches the human with a puzzled epression, his eyes widening and he realizes Nathan's intentions, just as he's hucking a liqour bottle at a biotic. Unbelieving, he sides up to him in the doorway, at least offering his own weapon if it all goes to shit.

Jessica hurries behind Yan Sun without so much as a glance back. Her hand on Yan Sun's lower back, she urges the woman up the stairs. "Go!" she growls again. "Why people are shooting? Mmm!? I was taking a shower!"

Leah sets the medigel cannister down beside Aylena and frowns as she begins to frantically search for the wounds through the pool of blood. "Sorry about this. Hope it wasn't expensive..." she mutters as she grips the fabric of the dress where the blood is pooling and rips it open to continue her scavenger hunt for the gunshots wounds, tracing her fingertips through the blood to try and feel them out. "We're not going to be able

to get the fragments out until we get you to Halisi, but I need to find the wounds so-... so I can stop the bleeding until-... until she gets here...." she explains, speaking mostly to keep herself calm. She's suddenly wishing it was her charging the armed asari head-on rather than having Aylena's life in her hands. She knows some basic medical knowledge due to her Alliance training, but it's nothing extensive.

Yan Sun shakes her head as she rushes up the stairs. "I don't-... she just-... I don't know!" she says, hurrying on once she's upstairs, but obviously aimless.

The biotic throw for Nathan misses and hits the doorframe above him, the bottle hitting her throwing her aim off. Disarmed, with limited shields, and being at the wrong end of two guns, she runs towards the kitchen door and opens it.

Aylena doesn't give her a verbal response at first, only a grunt. There is no end to the bleeding once Aylena let go of the pressure she had put on it, though, so that Leah could rip her dress. She winces as Leah's finger trace above the bullet hole, which shouldn't be hard to find without the garment in the way. "Pour... it," she says.

Nathan scrambles to his feet, still running high off the adrenaline and throws himself at the asari. He swings his pistol up in an uppercut and, as the barrel passes close to her body, fires a round off before the metal would connect with her body if he were to be successful. "I said stand down!"

Leah nods a bunch of times, keeping one finger pressed against one of the wounds to keep its location in mind. She uses her other hand to open the cannister and apply a generous amount of medigel to the wound before moving on to the second one. "That should seal up the bleeding..." she says as she looks over the, admittedly, sloppy work. "Just-... just stay with me until Halisi gets here, alright?"

Jessica grabs Yan Sun by the arm and pulls her against the wall beside her once they're up the stairs. "Is a bad habit to make me keep having to save you! You know this, yes!?" she says, her gaze focused down the staircase.

Zaylus aims to take a shot with the success of Nathan's bottle toss, but holds off with a growl as the human gets up close and personal with the asari. Horrible flying memories sending a shiver down his spine, he sidesteps into a better position to take a shot if she doesn't comply with Nathan's gentle persuasion.

Yan Sun has a startled look to her as she's pushed against the wall, and her gaze inevitably darts towards the stairs, but then looks back to Jessica, nodding several times. "I'm s-.. she just started shooting, I don't know what-... I d-... f-... 屌那星!" It's not hard to tell she's rattled.

The asari is hit in the upper chest area by the point blank shot and falls on her back. Scracth that, now there was only one option slightly better than dying. "Fine! I'm... standing down," she says between coughs.

Nathan steps forwards and immediately aims a solid boot to her chest to pin her to the ground, levelling his pistol at her forehead. "Smart," he sneers down at her. He chimes into the comms and declares, "Hostile secured." He logs off, never once taking his eyes from the asari.

Jessica remains where she is, keeping Yan Sun pressed against the wall until a few more moments pass without any follow-up gunshots. She pulls her arm back and adjusts the strap on her tanktop as she looks Yan Sun over. "..You are okay, yes?" she asks, "Nobody shoot you?"

Zaylus doesn't seem to react to her concession, keeping on the asari from another angle. He does step back to lean through the doorway, checking in on the actions outside. Unaffected, he leans back into the room, letting out a short burst of a chuckle in Nathan's direction. "That was fucking cool." He mutters, almost inaudible.

Aylena starts to breath more evenly once the medi-gel starts working. "It's... working," she sighs. The pain is still immense, and the asari certainly feels the blood loss' effects, but Aylena is not giving up yet.

Jason's voice comes over the comms channel. "Copy. I'll be inside in a moment. Jasper should be arriving with Halisi shortly, just keep Aylena breathing." he instructs as he leaves his position behind the Respite and begins to work his way around the building, keeping close watch for any activity that sets off any alarms. No telling if she had backup waiting outside.

Leah reaches down and grasps Aylena's hand. She slumps down a bit more with an exhausted sigh now that the medigel is applied and a little time has been bought. "Just a little longer, Aylena." she says softly, giving her hand a comforting squeeze. She has plenty of questions, but now is clearly not the time to ask them. "It sounds like the others took care of your attacker."

Yan Sun nods. "I'm-... yea-... yeah, I'm fine." she says with an uneaven voice, looking down at her own arms. She's mostly right - aside from being soaked in rum she has a small cut in the palm of her right hand, from pressing against the glass shards of the floor while slipping. Blood from the wound has smeared across her hand.

There is a turian militiaman – a band around his arm identifying his as such – further down the street to the south directing people away. Other than that, there's no approaching vehicles or armored people nearby.

The asari hostile isn't moving at all, unless coughing counts, though even that is slowing down as the medi-gel does its work.

Aylena lets out a faint chuckle, not expecting Leah to sit by her side like that after patching her up. "Thank... you," she whispers, forcing a small smile despite her pain.

Jessica grabs Yan Sun by the wrist as she spots the blood and lifts her hand up, inspecting it briefly. "Mmm. You are fine." she says, releasing her grip on the woman's wrist. But not before planting a thumb against the cut and giving it a little poke with an evil grin. She seems far less shaken up by the shooting than Yan Sun. It's the sort of thing that a life in Adrasteia has made her pretty well adjusted to. Nobody she gives a

shit about was hurt. No problem.

Jason casts a glance towards the turian, but otherwise continues on his way towards the front door, Revenant hefted upwards in one hand. As he enters the Respite, he gives a quick glance around to take in the damage inflicted on the place. "Everyone alright...?" he calls out as his gaze scans across the few patrons around the room.

Leah offers a smile of her own in turn, though it's easy to see that she's still worried about Aylena's safety. "Hey, that's what I'm here for, right? To make sure the people here stay safe?" Her smile fades into a frown and she scrunches up her nose, "I'm... sorry I couldn't get here sooner, Aylena...."

Nathan smirks as he just overhears Zaylus, flashing him a wink without taking his gaze from the asari. "It was dumb... but shit man, I hope there are cameras that caught that." He gestures to the asari with his pistol, keeping his boot firmly on her chest. "Search her for me will you?" He narrows his eyes at the asari, wetting his lips. "I don't take kindly to

people shooting up non-combatants. So you better cooperate from here on out or so help me God I will not hesitate to blow out your fucking kneecaps. Are. We. Clear?"

Zaylus lets out another low, throaty laugh, stepping forward to comply with the human's request. "That's the kind of bullshit I live for." He mutters again, probably more clear to Nathan now that he's right next to him. He crouches in close, searching the asari for anything noticable.

Yan Sun winces as Jessica prods her cut, withdrawing her injured hand and cradling it with the other. "Ah! Don't do that!" she exclaims, shooting her a glare - although her rattled state seems partly broken. Her gaze darts back to the stairs. "What d-... I think someone was shot..."

The patrons hiding under the table get out once Jason shows up, and start moving towards the exit, none of them appearing injured. The salarian and asari pair is last to leave after a subdued argument amongst themselves; Jason might recognize them as Kirev and Nalota.

The asari nods. "Very clear," she says, not going to argue against him with so many guns either pointed her way or ready to do so. The turian's search will yield a concussive grenade, six thermal clips and her omni-tool.

Gregorij takes a long sip from his whiskey to still himself as the situation seems to be over. He offers a grunt in response to Jason's question, likely out of hearing range, and then remains in his seat, showing no intention of leaving.

Jessica gives a brief nod as she glances back to the staircase. "Mmm. The bartender. Is fine. They were taking care of her, I think." she says. She looks back to Yan Sun and, getting a whiff of all the alcohol, she leans in to sniff at her before quickly pulling back with a somewhat disgusted look on her face. "Fuuuuck, kitty cat. How much have you had to drink already!?" she asks, "You smell like-... like bottom of a liquor

bottle."

Zaylus piles the thermal clips as he recovers them, leaving them off to the side for now. The omni-tool garners little interest, but in his other hand he raises up the grenade to eye-level , looking past it at the human with a less than serious expression.

Nathan holds his hand out for the grenade. "Amp too," he says.

The helmet has to be removed before the amp

Zaylus rolls his eyes and drops the grenade in Nathan's hand before reaching back down to remove the asari's helmet.

Jason strolls further into the bar. He offers the pair a nod of recognition, but now isn't exactly the time to make small talk. As he reaches the counter, he sets his Revenant atop it and rounds it to get a better look at Aylena. "She gonna be alright...?" he asks tentatively, a flash of concern on his face.

Leah glances up at Jason and gives a shallow nod. "...I think so." she responds, "Just-... Halisi needs to get here quick."

Jason sighs loudly at how quickly this day went to hell. "We've got help on the way, Aylena." he says, raising his voice as if she may not be able to hear him. "Suppose.... Suppose this probably isn't a good time to ask you to make me a drink, huh?" he adds, forcing a lopsided smirk into place.

Nathan takes the grenade and weighs it in his hand. He turns it over, casually examining it as he allows his eyes to wander from the asari for but a moment. He hears Jason and turns his head, letting out a single sharp whistle. "In here, Jase."

Aylena nods. "Can't expect you to live in here, Mercier," she says, her voice still not much more than a whisper. When Jason speaks to her, she lets out a faint snort and a barely audible "Make it yourself."

Yan Sun seems confused, Jessica's indifference towards the attack clearly throwing her off a little. "Wha-... a... a bottle broke..." she says with a shake of her head, sounding a little distant. "Do you-... do you think they need our help?"

The helmet is easily removed, and it reveals a dark blue asari with intricate white patterns on her cheeks and around her eyes. There is some blood below her mouth. She's still breathing, but she appears to be in a lot of pain.

Jason gives a short snicker in response. "Still got your sense of humor. That's a good sign." he says. He reaches for a bottle of undamaged rum from behind the counter, possibly weighing her statement as he reads the label. As he hears Nathan's voice, he sets the bottle back down and lifts his Revenant up once more before grabbing his Revenant and skirting around Aylena to reach the back door. As he glances around and spots

Zaylus and Nathan over the attacker, he gives a couple of nods. "Good work. I appreciate you two stepping up like that."

Jessica shrugs her shoulders. The sound of Jason's voice conversing with Leah and Aylena is enough of an 'all clear' to assume the fighting is over, so she glances back towards the staircase again. "I am sure they are fine. For now, maybe we are more help staying out of their way, mmm?" she offers.

Nathan quirks an eyebrow at the asari as her amp is removed shortly after her helmet. He finally removes his boot and steps back, assuming Zaylus is completely capable of keeping the wounded asari under control. "I was just in the area and thought I'd stop by for a quick drink. No big deal," he quips, smirking. With the adrenaline wearing off, he sags a little and

it is clear that the hand holding the pistol is starting to shake fiercely. He looks down at it with a look of bewilderment. "Huh...". He holsters the weapon under his jacket and uses his other hand to hold onto his shaking one to try and keep it under control. "Well that's... new."

Yan Sun blinks, obviously still worked up. She takes a few breaths in silence as she tries to calm down, and nods slightly. "I-... yeah, probably..."

Jason glances down at the prisoner, then follows Nathan's gaze to his hand. He reaches out, patting the man's shoulder. "You did good, Ten. We were lucky you and Zaylus were here. No telling how this would've shaken out for Aylena if not. But the rest of us can take it from here if you don't want to stick around... I'd-..." he nods, "I'd understand." His gaze moves back to the asari and he lets out a deep sigh, "Besides. My new

friend and I have a lot to discuss."

Nathan manages to get his hand under control. He frowns, trying to recollect another time when this occurred. Unable to do so, he merely looks back to Jason and smiles, albeit faintly. "Heh... seriously it's fine. Team effort, y'know?" He makes a mental note to beg for a copy of his bottle throw though. That is most certainly going to a treasured moment in his

life. After all... it was as the turian put it. 'Fucking cool.' "If you don't mind, I'd like to be around when you have a chat."

The shuttle can be seen setting down just out front of the Respite. As it touches down, the doors begin to slide open.

Jason withdraws his hand from Nathan's shoulder and gives the man a nod. "That's not a problem. I'll give you a call as soon as Halisi gives me the all clear to talk with her." he says.
