Ilyna is sitting by Va'ynna's bed, watching the doorway. The other asari is asleep, however. lyna is neither armed nor in armor, but a keen eye might notice a biotic amp.

Jason stomps down the hall and rubs at the back of his head with a sigh as he swings into Va'ynna's room once again, hardly paying attention to the second asari until already a few steps in. "Ilyna?" he asks, more of a shocked expression than an actual inquiry, "What are you doing here?"

Ilyna takes a few seconds to respond. "I heard about what happened," she begins in a lowered voice, "and when she didn't answer my calls, I called the Respite. Aylena told me what happened."

Jason nods and takes a position against the wall. "It was a mess. Shit erupted all over." he responds, keeping his voice low. He folds his arms across his chest and sighs, "Linda was hurt pretty bad. They haven't told me anything yet. Sounds like Va'ynna should be alright, though."

Ilyna stands up, and takes a step closer to him. "I'm sorry to hear that," she says, appearing thoughtful for a few moments. "What happened out there?"

Jason shakes his head. "Things just got out of our control. There shouldn't have been any reason for the Respite to get dragged into all this." he says with a shrug, "Our contract pissed off the wrong people, and they're not backing down. I'm not sure what our options are anymore..."

Ilyna frowns. "That almost sounds like the time when I was still a mercenary," she says. "Is it really that hopeless?"

Jason snorts and furrows his brow. "Hopeless? Nothing hopeless about it. We'll kill every last one of those fucks if we have to. This didn't need to get personal. We've tried to settle things without more bloodshed. At this point, they're forcing our hand."

Are you sure there's no other way?

Ilyna glances towards Va'ynna. "One that doesn't put innocent people in the crossfire," she adds in a mutter.

Jason glances over at Va'ynna and remains quiet for a moment. "We're looking into it. You know I wouldn't intentionally do something to put others in danger unless there was no choice. What happened with V... That shouldn't have happened. But I don't think it's entirely connected to us. Before this feud even began they made some waves at the Respite, this may have just been a follow-up on

that. The fact that we're staying there could've just been a lucky coincidence for them. Two birds with one stone." He shrugs again and shakes his head, "I don't really know."

Ilyna frowns. "I... thought the attacks there were against you," she says, "but I don't understand what she has done to anger anyone. She's even too careful for her own good."

Jason shakes his head. "I don't know all the details yet. All I know is they were ordered to grab security footage from the Respite and any info they had on us. I haven't had a chance to talk with our people that were there yet, so I'm only getting bits and pieces. Before we were even involved, though, these people we're dealing with caused issues at the Respite. They could just be trying

to cover their tracks. I don't think it has anything to do with V personally. Just wrong place, wrong time."

Ilyna looks thoughtful for a moment. "Va'ynna told me many from the agency are staying there," she says. "Knowing where they are must be useful to them." She pauses. "But if they're both against you and the Respite... is there anything I can do to help?"

Jason raises an eyebrow. "You don't have to do this..." he says, "But we could definitely use more hands on deck. As soon as I figure out what's going on with Linda, I'm calling a meeting with a few of my people. We're gonna lay it all out and figure out how we want to proceed as a group. If you want in, just let me know."

Ilyna nods. "I can't just sit by and let more people get hurt," she says. "You know me. I'm in."

Jason smirks a bit. "Appreciate it, Ilyna. I'll hit you with the details as soon as the doctors get back to me. I don't plan on leaving the hospital until I know exactly what's going on with Linda."

Ilyna takes a step back and sits down slowly. "Don't mention it," she says with a faint smile. "I'll... probably still be here then. She couldn't sleep, so I promised to make sure she's safe."

Jason nods and pushes away from the wall. "Well, I won't be far if you need me." he sighs, "Suppose I should probably go and harass some doctors. It's been a whole 15 minutes since they asked me to stop bothering them."

Ilyna can't help but chuckle. "Please wake me if I nod off, okay?" she says. "And please let me know if the doctors give in to the... harrasment."

Jason 's smirk grows a bit wider. "Oh, believe me... They will." he says with a wink before turning towards the door, "I plan on annoying the fuck out of them until they do." he adds as he exits the room.

Ilyna nods to him as he exits, but doesn't say anything. She glances over at Va'ynna before leaning back in her seat.

Halisi stops in her tracks when she notices Jason exiting the room. She presses a key on the datapad in her hand before collapsing it and putting it away. "Oh. Mr. Wolfe..."

Jason puffs up his cheeks, filling them with air, then forces it all out. "Well?" he asks expectantly, "Are any of you gonna tell me what in the hell is going on? I'm not leaving until I know she's okay, Halisi."

Ilyna gets back up and take a few quiet steps towards the doorway, her curiosity winning over her better judgement.

Halisi winces slightly. "It's... not good. The impact broke Ms. Vasquez' implant, which, in turn caused brain damage. I... am doing my best to repair the implant. We cannot determine the full extent of the damage to the brain until then."

Jason furrows his brow. "What-..." he shakes his head, "No-... I don't understand. You're telling me a little damage to that little doohickey is enough to cause brain damage?" he asks, sounding quite angry, "I don't buy it. Get back in there and do your job." he demands, "She already had a lot of damage done. Maybe that's what you're seeing."

Ilyna stops near the doorway, listening quietly. She looks rather concerned.

Halisi puts her right hand up to her temple, rubbing it with a sigh. "I'm aware of the patient's medical history. I'm sorry, Jason... I'm doing all I can. This is advanced tech. Delicate." After a moment's pause she adds: "Vasquez is tough. I know about the things she's survived. Best case scenario, she'll just be a bit dazed."

Jason stares at Halisi silently for a moment. "Just fix her." he says, "I don't care what you have to do. If the tech is too advanced for you and your people, then get someone who can fix it."

Halisi offers a faint nod. "We'll do all we can, I promise."

When do you expect to know more?

I can't say... but I'll let you know as soon as I know.

Ilyna starts walking back to where she sat before.

Jason nods slowly, biting his lower lip. "As soon as you know." he repeats back to her, "You have my contact info. Doesn't matter what time it is. You hear anything, you tell me. Understand?"

Halisi nods. "Of course." She starts to move again, walking past him with a sympathetic glance.

Jason takes a deep breath and rubs a hand across the top of his head. He takes a few steps down the hall before cussing under his breath and punching the wall. A slight pained wimper escapes him as he shakes his hand while continuing down the hall.
