Darsk continues to focus his attention on the river
#HuntingTime – October 2, 2013
Iressa hardly notices, "Yes, I realize that, but there's not much else I can tell you. What do you want me to do?"
Darsk notices the motion and looks at the water around the boat, careful not to shift his position too much
Malarus (Comms): Do you have any lights? There is no chance I will be able to find you without lights.
Tyranniac| There is nothing visible in the water - of course the constant impacting of the rain makes vision into the water near zero.
Iressa appears doubtful, "I don't know if you can tell, but it's raining pretty heavily here. We can try to signal you from the ground, but visibility's very low."
Malarus (Comms): You're right. I'm afraid I don't have any way of finding you. I think you're going to have to make your way back to the landing site.
Darsk remains fixed in place, speaking more to Iressa than to Malarus. "How are we supposed to find the landing site? Even without the rain, we have no idea where we are."
Iressa presses her free hand against her forehead, letting out a displeased sigh. "It could take hours, even if we were able to find our way back." She moves her hand back to rest her chin on, clearly contemplating. "Unfortunately, it's the best course of action we've come to see so far. Until we come up with a better plan, we'll try to find our way back." Her gaze rests on Darsk, as if imploring him to suggest something more sane.
Malarus (Comms): You'll find your way back. Just stay calm and try to find some way to orient yourself.
It doesn't seem like there's much oppertunity for that. We're on a boat in a rainstorm. What did you have in mind?
Malarus (Comms): If you can't find your way back, maybe waiting until morning is the better option. What is your situation on supplies? Do you think you are being pursued?
Darsk speaks towards the comm, again hoping to be picked up. "There's no sign of anyone. Supplies? What supplies?"
I don't know about morning, but we could definitely wait out this storm. As for a "safe place", we'll have to take what we can get for shelter.
Tyranniac| Forest covers both shores, there is not much else to see but the heavy rain and the dark skies. Another lightning flash illuminates mountains in the distance behind the shores to their left.
Tyranniac| Darsk sinks deeply into the mud due to his krogan weight. Pulling the boat ashore would no doubt be rather cubersome. There is a fairly steep incline formed by the roots of the forest trees, made slippery by the raining.
Iressa turns around from inspecting the incline, sighing a little. "Right." She pulls the boat up the rest of the way with some difficulty, but making sure it won't be swept away. Then, turning to face the krogan, she reaches out with both arms, for whatever good that does. "I'm guessing they didn't have a lot of mud on Tuchanka?" She grins, trying her best to lighten the mood.
Darsk reaches towards Iressa's outstretched arms momentarily before retracted them back. "Uh, Ress...I'll probably just pull you down."
Iressa retracts her arms as well, "You may have a point there. Uh... I think you can figure this one out." She waves dismissively, leaving the boat as far as she can pull it and starts to attempt to scramble up the incline.
Iressa hoists herself over the edge of the incline after some difficulty, holding the nearest tree for support as she balances herself again. She looks back at the struggling krogan, unsure of how to help him.
Darsk stops struggling for a moment when he realizes the boat is floating away. "Uhh...are we gonna need that?"
Iressa rubs the back of her head, "Um... let's hope not. Too be honest, I never had the utmost confidence in that thing anyway. Come on, let's just get settled for the night." Taking a step or two back, she leaves enough space for him to flop over the roots onto the forest floor.
Tyranniac| The rain is beating down mercilessly and the wind is picking up as well. Thunder roars above.
Iressa raises an eyebrow (inb4 "eyebrow mark"), "We shouldn't try to go too far from the river." She begins, close enough that she doesn't have to raise her voice too much over the wind and rain. "I'm not sure what else you had in mind."
All the more reason to stay put. We don't want to go walking into anything without even realizing it.
